Vic St Andrews in Fife

The music is so bad and so loud. It’s a real joke. Feels like the playlist has been selected by a drunk 13 years old girl. My ears are bleeding 🩸

We came in for a quick bite to eat to finish off our break before heading home tomorrow. 2 of the meals were good, although my chicken burger looked a little burnt but was fine, however my mothers mac and cheese was a disaster. It looked like it was just a white sauce with maccaroni in it and sprinkled bread crumbs on top, not even a wee bit toasted on top and I question if there was cheese at all as there was no cheeses smell coming from it. No one came to ask if we enjoyed it. When they were taking away the dishes I've never seen anyone do it so fast but I feel like that was more to avoid any conflict. When we did get the bill my Mum was the one who passed comment, the staff would have let it go. It was concluded in the end and we thank the staff

Food - good, drinks - good, service - good. A bunch of guys came into the bar dressed as chickens so entertainment - good.

The table service meant things were painfully slow. Cocktails were nice but waiting the bill took an eternity to get sorted and the food was mediocre at best

Went with a large group for drinks and karaoke - drinks were reasonably priced, staff were attentive and the whole upstairs area was great. Atmosphere was nice and chilled and picked up throughout the evening.

Fun venue with friendly and helpful staff. Drinks were great and the karaoke lots of fun.

I stopped by Vic after a conference in St Andrews and discovered it’s a true hidden gem! The cocktails and food were fantastic, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming – we felt really taken care of. They had live music, so we ended up staying for hours!

What a brilliant spot this is in St Andrews. We had been told by friends to visit and they were absolutely spot on. Such a stunning place with really great staff. So friendly and welcoming. They made sure we got a good space so we could all be together. We had a great night of karaoke and their French martinis are just wonderful. (Too wonderful) Wish I was able to stay longer but it was an early morning start for me. Will definitely stop by on our next visit to St Andrews.

Had a great night for drinks here after having dinner round the corner. We went on a Thursday & there was karaoke starting as we arrived which was the perfect way to kick off the night! My group murdered a few songs and danced the night away in the club after. The margaritas were fantastic and so were the staff making them. Definitely try here if you're out to have a good time!

Had a great evening at The Vic St. Andrew’s this week! After some lovely food at the nearby Forgan’s for a company dinner, we then headed to The Vic to continue our evening. We arrived just as the karaoke was getting started and was the perfect way to kick things off! Great staff and great drinks. Can’t wait to return!

Place has a smell was empty at 3pm on a Saturday. Didn't eat had 1 drink and left

Not for me. Too loud to do nought but drink and jump to the usual songs. Usually find myself retreating to the smoker's area just to get out haha... why my friends insist on going there I'll never know. Union is cheaper and better atmosphere, although I have been a fan of the local musicians who sometimes play there.

We ate well, although sitting on one of the sofas pieces of the wall above me fell off, like stones.

It was brilliant I got a complimentary ice cream and the food was exquisite.the man behind the bar was a terrific host and easy to interact with he checked on us whenever he could and knew all of his drinks Overall I would come here again and was a perfect place to come to to end my holiday on a great note I'm only 12 and I think I will remember this the next time I come to Scotland

We booked an area in the Vic for a casual drinks gathering the night before our wedding. We had 80 or so guests in the bar and pre-paid a selection of prosecco and beer, as well as having a cash bar. Jack and the team were so flexible and helpful at arranging this for us and the service and atmosphere on the night was perfect. They helped us to set up a sign we had brought, and were ready to pour glasses of fizz and beer for guests on arrival - it was great! Big thank you to the Vic team :)

Dropped in with three famished and bored kids. Really good food with brilliant kids portions. The service was fantastic, friendly and helpful. The board games and kid appropriate (free) arcade games kept the kids happy and brought a rainy day in StAndrews back up to the 5 star setting. (Great tunes in the background by the way)

Visited The Vic for the first time last week and could not be disappointed! We were a table of five and tried our luck as everywhere else was busy and could not accommodated us, although they themselves were busy got us in and made us feel welcomed from the get go. Our server was knowledgable about the menu and service was smooth and pleasant. I personally had a burger and was very happy with my decision. we all loved it and would definitely recommend the visit for food if in town.

Chucked me out because the barstaff (female blonde hair and managerial role, name is Susanne) had mistaken my friend for someone who had climbed over the wall in the smoking garden. But this was clearly not him then preceeded to kick another one of my mates out for complaining about our case. I think this was because I was apparently being "cheeky" but just proving her wrong for her mis-identifying my friend. To be fair some of the security were fair and dead on but still used excessive force on my friend for no reason. Bottom line bar staff needs to be rational in public areas and not make complete rash decisons as this will put off more people inthe future from going.

I was in a couple of days ago, they have amazing cocktails and the new food menu is delicious. The service was great too and I really loved the ambient. Good job.

If adults come in to your establishment for food, you need to politely turn them away.

Was there to see The Other Guys on Saturday Night. Great atmosphere, Lovely Cocktails and all of the staff and security made me feel very welcome.

15-20 of us payed for tickets last night for LatinFlow spent £11.20 each a ticket, had 2 drinkw each before coming to que up, and every single one of us were turned away by who I can only describe as a jumped up angry rude individual who has no respect for anyone. Absolutely disgraceful and it will be reported to the relevant people about how the vic think they can get away with taking money from people and not providing the services.

Popped in for a couple drinks, welcoming and good service. Will definitely be back in again when I’m back in St Andrews

A curious place where, depending on the time of day, you can eat, drink, have tea or even dance. All this on the upper floor called "Social Club". We were a group of 36 and the agency had hired a fixed menu. The starter was toast with mushrooms on top, with a just passable result. The main course was filling: two thick sausages with plenty of potato pudding. There was no dessert, but we were able to have coffee and tea at our discretion on a self-service basis. Recommended if you want to have a quick meal at a good price in the middle of a tour of Scotland.

I went to the Vic a few days ago and honestly had a terrible experience. The service was very poor and unorganized. The overall atmosphere was also incredibly dirty and unwelcoming. I personally would not recommend going to the Vic unless there was a clear adjustment in the management, and I know that I am not the only one who feels this way.

It’s great to be back to the Vic after having graduated from St Andrews a few years ago. We had a great night out this weekend, I think it tends to be kinda chill on the weekdays. The staff were amazing and had great energy as always. Very good cocktails 🍹

Decent late night spot for drinks in the town

Went there on Friday with my parents who were dropping me off at uni. The food was tasty and our waitress was very helpful and patient with my parents who do not speak the best English and had a couple of questions about the menu. Would reccommend.

1- Bartenders need to be trained on keeping a note of the general queue or order of service. Anyone can pour drinks - good service is making sure you’re treating customers fairly. Literally had 6 other customers served before me the other night, even though they all got there after me. It got to the point where other customers were apologising to me because they felt bad for me. I wasn’t being rude or demanding - I see this happening routinely at the Vic to other people too. The customers shouldn’t have to fight for the staff’s attention. 2- Regularly having only two bartenders on for events or weekends when there are 50+ people waiting to order multiple drinks shows that you don’t care about customers or your staff. In fact, you would probably be making a lot more money with more bartenders working because many people turn away without even bothering to wait and buy drinks. Part of the issue is that this is the only nightclub-type venue in town. This means that management doesn’t have to worry about good service because customers often don’t have an alternative. Nice venue but unfortunately not if you want to buy anything.

Student pub in St Andrews, this is a fab little venue, upstairs space with exposed brick walls, good range of beers and drinks, simple pub grub fayre. Go here if you are looking for somewhere less crowded and more chill. Don't go here if you're looking for something high end and pretentious.

We have come as an organized group, half of the people have not eaten the fixed menu that was agreed upon and they have not been given any alternative menu for these people. So some of us have gone without eating. The food is a 0. But if you come to this restaurant on your own the fries are good.

Me and my friend went out for a few drinks as we were catching up, we were sat there anxiously trying to find a way back home as our lift had fallen through, out of frustration my friend put her head on the table, and one of the bar staff saw this as her being drunk, we were then kicked out despite only having 2 drinks, one of which was supposed to be a coke but was just soda water. Not impressed.

Very little to write about as everything was as I would want it to be. I'd suggest putting Koppenberg back on the menu considering the glasses used show Koppenberg. But other than missing one brand of cider, you won't go wrong spending and evening in here for food and/or drinks

Dropped in for a drink on Friday evening. Staff were very helpful and the duet were very good. Would definitely go back. We had already eaten but the food at the next table looked great.

It was really a bad place to and they were expensive, the food was served burnt and they Literally added service charge for half a pint of Guinness which was way disappointing and frustrating. They were not adequate with whisky collection as much. The cheese curd in the fries was barely visible

Who would have thought a burger pizza is a thing. And it's tasty too. I had the veggie burger and this was so tasty. It's a smaller menu but reasonably priced. Worth a wee visit.

Fantastic venue, great service, especially greatful for this gorgeous, dark-haired, handsome, young boy named Joe Seal for his caring attention to detail and made me feel like a loved and valued customer. Not only is his drinks knowledge broad and detailed, but he is also very very fast, which is what i love in a good bartender. I must also add that his hands are incredibly soft; i felt him graze against mine as he precisely inserted his straw into my whiskey. X

The venue looks great (not good accessibility however) I like the Mr Doodle work and the bar area has nice surroundings and tables/seating. The menu this time round was reduced from my previous visit and the food we had this time left a lot to be desired (half burnt oven chips, instant gravy and the smallest cheese curds I've ever seen). The bar staff were very friendly and helpful which is always nice.

Come here on a Friday. Live music, great drinks, great atmosphere. Really wide selection of people, you have students next to older people in full golf gear who are next to some foreign tourists with a huge camera around their neck and everyone is just having a great time. Also came here to eat in the week, great cheap eat deals aswell and the food was surprisingly good!

This is a really nice bar which also serves great coffee. Really friendly service and I noticed they also do a student deal where you pay £2.50 for the day and you get unlimited tea and coffee and a place to work/read. Would definitely recommend.

Enormous, bier halle style place. Very strange decor - crowded black and white scribble pictures and fake grass on the walls. Lots of room. Decent selection of gins, but not fantastic. G&T had too much tonic, too much ice and was served in an oversized bubble glass with a straw. I expect some people like it that way, but it's a grown-up drink and I would rather have had it in a simple high ball. Toilet cubicle had no hook, which is always a bit annoying. Barman was friendly and approachable. Prices were reasonable.

worst garlic bread of my life. good drinks and food, but that garlic was shocking. ciabatta with some oil spread on it with what i can only say were the crumbs of a glove of garlic frugally sprinkled on the bread. DO NOT ORDER IT. other than that i actually quite like the vic...
