Vegan Express (We Are Open) in Leeds

Worst food. Actually no service and staff members are awfully rude. Would never suggest this restaurant. Literally everything is awful about this restaurant.

I ordered from this restaurant last night after I finished work. They accepted the order and appeared open on the UberEats app. After waiting nearly two hours for my order I checked on google to find the restaurant was apparently closed. Why and how was my order accepted if the restaurant is closed? I called to try and receive an update, no answer. After waiting three hours, I went to bed. My order has still not arrived. I have no missed calls or messages meaning no delivery was attempted, though it was marked as delivered on the Uber app. I can’t rate the food as I never actually received it. I wish I had checked reviews first as it appears lots of people have had similar issues with this restaurant. Currently speaking with Uber to get a refund.

Never delivered food and member of staff completely rude when we tried to request update. Tried every route to get our food until well after 3am when phones were shut off. Complete scam avoid at all cost!

Ordered food for 11pm. Waited until 12am because we knew it was a busy night. Called and told the number was wrong on uber eats - and then rudly given a new number from the man on the phone. Called the new number and the woman very insistantly told us there was no order. Called the first man again and told us to cancel and that we wouldn't be charged. Had to contact a third party for a refund.

If there was an option for zero stars, they would get it. Do not order from them. I was visiting Leeds and placed an order through Uber Eats. They never updated the app to say the food was on the way. Uber Eats sends me a message to see if the food was delivered and to call the restaurant if it was not. I called the restaurant and they told me they would not deliver to me because I needed a UK phone number. They said they were not allowed to call me through the app. She then tells me if I did not have an international number, she could not deliver my food. Meanwhile, Uber Eats kept telling me to contact the restaurant and my food was being delivered and the restaurant kept telling me they would not deliver my food. I am convinced their delivery service is a scam to keep people's money because they will fight giving you a refund. Be warned - do not order from them. I should have paid attention to the Google reviews. You can never review them through the app if you never receive your food.

So disappointed. Over the years probably ordered from here 20+ times. Deliveries always been a bit off, rare occasion 2hrs+ but the food is great. Rating so poorly as I placed an order last Sunday, waited and waited but it never turned up. Called numerous times and the phone was off the hook. As I ordered on their website I had no protection so have just lost my money. Called multiple times this week as thought it may be an error, phone is still off the hook. Left numerous voicemails and no one's got back to me. Really enjoyed the food - so disappointed I now have to find a new Chinese!

Used this takeaway many times and the food was always lovely albeit regularly missing items. Placed an order from their own website as usual on Fri 18th Oct at 8pm and it never arrived! Rang many times to see where it was and they never picked up the phone...went to answer machine so left 3 messages but they never got back! On Sat 19th on opening i drove to the takeaway and it was no longer there! PLEASE DONT ORDER FROM HERE!

Extremely rude staff, refused to give order without us paying an additional £4 for delivery as they claimed they had tried to contact us, our call logs showed we had no missed calls and they refused to even acknowledge this. So I would not recommend due to the extremely rude staff and poor service. Discussed with Uber and they refunded us straight away after we explained the situation.

Very very poor customer service. Appalled after the person on the phone shouted at us asking for more money to pay the delivery driver after the delivery driver took over an hour and a half to reach us. We disputed this with Uber eats and they have a refund without question and reported the driver however I would highly recommend you avoid this place if you don’t want cold food and an attempted scam.

Very bad service, owner shouted down the phone asking for additional money to help pay for the delivery driver, would not recommend this place. Absolute scammers, after reading other reviews I can see this is common practise for this restaurant. Avoid

Very rude staff, delivered extremely late and then tried to ask us for additional money to help pay for the deliver driver. Would not recommend.

Very rude staff shouting at us down the phone after refusing to deliver our food without an additional charge as the driver wanted more money due to it taking him too long. We disputed and have got a full refund through Uber, but I wouldn’t recommend this place after such poor service.

Food was due to arrive at 12:50AM, over an hour later still no food. Person on the phone insisted it had been delivered and to "check my front step and call them back." I was stood on my front step. Extremely rude! Just wanted me off the phone and to let Just Eat deal with it. Some time between 3AM and 9:30AM the food was left on the doorstep. By that time we were in bed, no knock on the door. (The dog would have barked) When I saw the food I was genuinely unsure whether they were just taking the p***. A whole lettuce and some chicken pieces with onion. Sloppy, flavourless, no effort. Could have made the same or better in 2 minutes.

Food doesn't show up even after having paid for it. Impossible to get hold of. I beg you to not even think about ordering from here.

Yep. This is a scam. No phone numbers work. Avoid.

I love the food here and the starter combo is my favourite thing to order (the spring rolls especially are really addictive). It's slightly cheaper than other vegan chinese takeouts in the area, which is a bonus. I've never had any issues with delivery - they were late once but were courteous enough to call and warn me beforehand. They even delivered on christmas eve with no problems.

Received leaflet through the post saying 20% off if you order online. Ordered and only 10% offered. Called the takeaway and they out the phone down saying they didn't know what we were talking about. Lost out on nearly £100 order. Disgusting.

Same happened to me. They take payment and never acknowledged the order. Avoid!

Ordered food. Called up as payment taken but not arrived. Said they had never received the order. I asked for a refund. He hung up. Called back and line went dead for 40 seconds. Came back swore at me and hung up. Awful

Shocking service, they don't deliver your food, even when you've paid for it. They don't have much online presence, seems to be the same ordering via uber/deliveroo or their own website. Just avoid at all costs, even if it comes it will be late or wrong or both.

Avoid at all costs - lady on phone put the phone down when I was trying to order 3 times - they don’t do collection just delivery but can’t deliver to me either.. very poor customer service.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. I can’t believe this place is still open or on deliveroo! You can order your food but good luck getting it! Impossible to get in contact with the restaurant. The food was delayed and then never arrived. They are sneaky and mark the order as delivered so they can keep your money and deliveroo can’t refund your order. Save yourself and your money and never ever order from here

Delivery was as expected, food was amazing ! i just love that found this place, highly recomend! Just go straight to the original website instead of uber or deliveroo... they are trustless...

AWFUL - AVOID!!!! Ordered on Xmas eve, not delivered and 20 mins late and said delivered on the app so I rang and after finally getting through on the 5th attempt they said they tried to ring to confirm the order with us and when we didn’t answer they just didn’t make the food or cancel the order. Called us “silly” and laughed at us because apparently it’s our fault. I didn’t have one missed call and he kept trying to tell me my phone was broken😂 went to write a review and saw others have said similar. What an embarrassment of a business. Still don’t have our food 2 hours later on Christmas Eve 🥲

This is a solely vegan takeaway, yet the fortune cookies are not vegan. It's got me questioning the whole menu now

Beware, avoid at all cost!!! Would give zero star if I could. Ordered off Deliveroo for pickup. Staff rung me saying they don’t do pickups any more and pressured me to cancel from my end. I told them they they had to cancel it or I would be charged still. Restaurant did not cancel the order, instead marked the order as picked up after a while! Deliveroo did not refund because of this, spent money got no food. They called the takeaway no answer so could not verify anything, no refund. The takeaway knew what they were doing asking me to cancel from my app and they get the money and if that didn’t work mark order as collected. Dirty little scam.

Lovely food but for my last three takeaway orders I've either had incorrect items sent or items missing. Can resolve this through Just Eat but it's very disappointing!

Incredibly slow service, missing items which we were advised would be re-delivered, when that took over an hour we called, went to voicemail the first time, hung up on the second time and on the 3rd we were advised it would arrive at some point and were hung up on again. Thoroughly disappointed at the abysmal service.

What an absolute shambolic “business” - ordered food and it never showed up. Called 2 hours later and they had no reasonable explanation other than “ You can get a refund if you call Deliveroo…”

Great food, quick service, big portions for the price which is rare for vegan food. Highly recommend.
