Very nice snack and beer before my gig! Great location

Went there on a very busy Halloween event night. The staff were troopers coping with the relentless orders. Lovely food, decent prices and quirky inside and out in the courtyard garden. Will definitely go back again to see it when it's a bit more mellow.

This place was awesome. Really nice food, great cocktails and lovely staff. 10/10 would return. The only down side is a automatic gratuity. Ive have given a proper tip but the mandatory 10% added to the bill is irritating

Great vegan options, the tofu burger was mint, very spicy but really nice. My friends also loved the halloumi burger and haggis burger everyone was very happy with their food. We left a bag when we went for our gig, thankfully the staff found it and have offered to send it back, absolutely fantastic service. Cannot wait to come back.

Absolute gem of a place. Was actually heading to the west end branch but I'm SO glad we came to this one. The service (a young man with tied up hair and a white Lush t shirt) was AMAZING - what a credit to you he is! A warm, hearty welcome. Nothing was too much trouble! Delicious food, clean bar... highly highly recommend this place. We are visiting from England and gutted this is nowhere near local to us. 5 stars for the staff and place. 1 for the food. I came in the first time about 6 months ago and had a really good fried chicken meal. This time, super disappointed. It was so so so so greasy. I’m still tasting it and I ate it yesterday. The onion rings are massive (looks good) but covered in greasy/buttery batter that it’s like eating oil soaked bread, even the chicken burger bun was oily and greasy to the touch - I had to wipe it with a napkin, then just left it uneaten anyway. The chicken itself was tasty but I had to take off the crust (greasy again). The staff are great - super friendly and welcoming. The venue itself is nice. Location great across from Barrowlands. Won’t be back, unfortunately

Visited last night before The Struts gig. Ordered the Haggis Burger and it was very tasty. The service was quick and efficient. The servers were all lovely as well. Definitely will recommend this place to any friends who might be in and around this area of Glasgow

Nice barbecue style American food. Staff and service very good.

We had a family lunch here, and the food could only be described as average. Chicken and waffles are served with an out of the packet waffle. For what they charge, you would expect it fresh. The server was nice, but the occasion was spoiled when we received the bill. We were a table of 2 adults and 2 kids, and there was an automatic 10% added to the bill. This is a personal bug bear of mine. If the service is of a standard that a tip is deserved, I'll make that decision on my own. I don't need it done for me. We are not in America. Our servers are paid a wage, I don't go to work and expect a tip, so why should I be forced to pay one here, Unless it is a large table, then allow your clients to offer a tip based on the service they received.

There is a large selection of burgers and other dishes. Inside you sit on long benches, it can get louder. From the outside it looks a bit run down, but inside everything is fine. The service is friendly and attentive.

Came in off the cuff, wasn't planned but it was a pleasant surprise. The football was on that day so place was pretty busy, something definitely to be aware of as others came in afterwards and had to sit outside in their covered area. We got 10 wings, buttermilk tenders, pulled pork with fries and onion rings. The wings were a great size, none of these tiny half sized ones but the full thing, they were fried with a crust and coated with sauce of your choice. I went with classic buffalo and it was good. It also came with a nice blue cheese dipping sauce and some celery sticks. This was a messy dish but very nice, very happy for the £13 The onion rings were a good portion, they looked oily so took them out their dish and put them on a plate with a napkin to make sure, they were in fact very crispy and stayed crispy the entire time. Actually up there with some of the best I've had so bravo. The Mrs had Tenders and pulled pork fries, never tried the tenders but the pulled pork was nice and smoky. Wasn't just a soggy mess that so many are so that was good. Fries were a bit meh though Had a pint of shandy since was driving, really enjoyed it. Nice and refreshing but a fiver for a pint of T😬 defo not going to be a cheap place to drink that's for sure.

Find the fried food oily And greasy. At first taste, the fried chicken and fries are not bad but at the end it feels very greasy. Skip the onion rings. Feels just big slic of onion wrapped with batter. Nothing much

You most definitely get what you pay for in here!! Burger was superb as were chips! Cracking lager shandy and welcoming atmosphere! Staff on the button for helpfulness and service! One complaint... Wish I had tried the chicken wings 😁 but will be back to try them!

We immediately liked the space and decor of Van Winkles. Although we caught it during a quiet Friday lunchtime, it's obviously a blast when full. The service was welcoming and friendly, and food tasty indeed. The lemon fragranced handwipes are a thoughtful addition, especially after a delicious Philly Cheese Steak and a Chilli Burger. We will definitely be back.

Friendly staff, Good service. The macaroni cheese was amazing and the wings where nice also. Good portion size, decent pints and cocktails. Extra plus for being dog friendly, they have a good menu for dogs a combination of Chicken, fish or beef served with Rice/pasta and veg. Will be back again soon. Only niggle, the place was cold.

We done the Bourbon Experience on 23 December. Robbie took care of us during the experience but all of the staff were brilliant. Would highly recommend the bourbon experience if you love Bourbon. Great value for money. Robbie was very knowledgeable and was happy to go into more detail. Struck the best balance of timing between drinks and letting us enjoy the bourbon. We stayed after for a few hours and had a bunch of old fashioneds with the wide range on offer. Cannot recommend enough.

Food was tasty and hot and very good price. Service was very good and the lovely server was polite and friendly. The only thing that I could fault was that it was cold in the venue and never really got warm for the hour or do that we were there.

Frozen burger and a few pints before a gig. Came to a 100 quid. Would at LEAST expect a fresh burger. What a rip off

Philly cheese steak, almost £18, in a plastic basket with a handful of chips, chips nice, but clearly the cook, I wouldn't dare call it a chef, hasn't been to philly nor saw cheese or steak, perhaps they could call it a mushy onion baguette, dreadful and never again.

First thing I noticed when I walked in was they tailor the music they play to whatever gig is happening at Barrowland that night. This gave me and my friends the perfect atmosphere to get hyped for the gig we were about to head to. The food is brilliant - diner style but beyond diner quality. The staff are helpful, friendly and polite and have all the qualities needed in customer service. Huge thank you to all the staff there. We will definitely be back next time we are seeing a gig at Barrowland.

Agradable pub situado en un barrio periférico de Glasgow. Habíamos concertado un servicio de comida para 36 personas y ha demostrado una gran profesionalidad. Todo estaba preparado a nuestra llegada y no ha habido que efectuar espera alguna. El plato de entrada ha consistido en unos ricos croquetones de queso con salsa agridulce. Y el plato principal han sido trocitos de ternera en su jugo, muy abundante y con el detalle de colocarnos encima un hojaldre delicioso. La cerveza checa Krusovice ha servido de buen acompañamiento.

Very relaxed atmosphere, staff were both friendly and welcoming, I will be sure to try the food next time, if the massive plate of wings that one of guys was taking to a customers table was anything to go by it looks amazing.

Looks nothing from the outside. I'd highly recommend this place. The wings were delish (spicy) and plenty for 2 people to share.

We visited as a group of 3 with 2 dogs for dinner. I pre booked about an hour before arriving as it was a Saturday. Upon arriving and ordering we were told food would come out as soon as it could, we noticed a large tour group were in, so we thought our food may take longer. We waited over 2hours for our food. Including food for the dogs. Not once did anyone come and tell us there was a delay or that we would wait so long!! In fact we had to enquire twice about the whereabouts of our food. We had to pay up front, so there was no opportunity to ask for some money off. Additionally, as I left, I mentioned to our waitress that whilst we thanked the for the service and food (it was tasty!) that they should let people know if it's going to be a 2hr wait for food. She didn't apologise and instead just said "i thought someone had told you" she then asked if we'd paid - fairly cheeky given we'd paid a good 3hrs before. Honestly the food was lovely and the dog food was a nice touch but shocking service. All that was required was some communication that it would be a long delay or a sorry. We got neither and honestly felt like it was a waste of money. We arrived WITH A BOOKING at 7.45. We ate at 9.45.

Excellent service. The food was really tasty and we didn't wait very long, it would be nice to see wraps on the menu? Doggy friendly and the dog menu was fantastic! We'll definitely be back to try more.

We were recommended this restaurant by a family member as they had been before and had a good experience. We came here before a gig at the Barras as it's very convenient with the Barras being across the road. We were not disappointed as the food was really good. We got the pulled pork burger with fries, and the sauce was excellent. We also got the chilli cheese dog with fries, and this to was great. A side of onion rings and also a fudge sundae, which was good but a little pricey for me. All in all a great night in Van Winkle for our food and drinks before heading out to the gig. The service was great and the girl with red hair was chatty and nice. We will definitely be back at some point.

Great little place. Opted for a few small plates. Got the pulled pork loaded fries, halloumi fries and the Mac and cheese to share between two. Didn’t look like huge portions but were very full afterwards. Service was fantastic, very friendly and professional. Will definitely be returning.

Not quite at the level of Bucks Bar or Thundercats but still a very good place to go eat & drink. I had the chicken & waffles and my friend had the chicken wings. Biggest wings I think I’ve ever seen

Outstanding wings, great atmosphere, and even the sides are both original and very tasty. I personally recommend the Hillbilly Taters! Also love the fact that the place is dog friendly, with even a special menu for our four-legged friends!

We booked a table for 6PM. The place was still empty but started to get busier a bit after. The waiter was very nice and attentive, and the food came very fast. We had two different burgers, both very tasty.

Booked a table for my Fiancée and I's anniversary as the pictures of the food online looked great, we got there and it was very loud as they had the rugby on full blast. Then got sat at our table and had rugby fans pretty much sitting on our lap as they were allowed to just loiter about anywhere they liked while others were eating, also screaming and shouting at the TV the whole way through. Food arrived and was very bland, chips and chicken strips were also overcooked. Only positive is that the food was served quickly (thankfully, as we couldn't wait to leave). Clearly pride themselves more on being a bar than a restaurant, all round not a great experience.

Absolutely 100% love this wee gem of a place, Dog friendly which was a bonus, food absolutely delicious, I had the breast of chicken with the waffles and the maple sauce it was stunning, been a few times and had this dish everytime I'm in, the Mrs has the tacos and she loved them, our wee dog Coco had veg and rice and loved it also, staff are absolutely brilliant and made our experience very enjoyable, will definitely be going back soon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We ordered from here and it was the first time I’ve ever felt like I’m eating restaurant quality food in my living room. Well presented despite being home delivery, all roasting hot like it had just left the kitchen and tasted incredible. Hopefully this is where home delivery is headed because they have set the bar high and I won’t be going anywhere else anytime soon.

You know a place is to your liking when the first menu you get is the doggy menu. Food is great l, portions are collosal. Nice and quiet on the Wednesday we were there. Great for nervous dogs. Super friendly staff as to boot.

Absolutely amazing food and HUGE portions! Got greeted at the door immediately with a dog menu, and the doggos scarfed down their dinner. The drinks were amazing. The staff was friendly and prompt. Although it was a bar restaurant, it was nice and quiet and you could actually have a conversation. Best way to end off our Scotland tour!

Just had my fist visit here, I recommend booking a table before you plan to visit. The staff are so attentive, not once did I have to get there attention to get more drinks to the table. If I could give more that 5 stars I would have.

I booked the BBQ grill for a surprise 30th Birthday party and was not disappointed! From the beginning the manager Mel was great at emailing and answering the many questions I had, the communication back and forth made the whole process easy for me. The price per person was reasonable and the food provided was great, the selection and amount of food provided was tremendous! The bar staff, (shout out to Scott!) were so accommodating and kept us fuelled with the best cocktails, nothing was too much to ask from them. The staff were all so friendly, polite, hardworking and would go out of their way to accommodate any requests we had! I believe the staff made our evening as good as it was and I would highly recommend Van Winkle to any persons looking to use as a function or just for food/drinks! Thank you again for making my partners 30th a night to remember!

Booked a table for 1pm for 4 people & 1 dog. The place was pretty much empty when we went in. Ordered our food & half an hour later got an apology for us not having our food but they were preparing for a large barbecue outside. Another 20 minutes before we got the food. We should have been told of the situation when we arrived because we wouldn't have stayed. They didn't even take anything off the bill as a gesture of apology. Won't be back! Food is overpriced. Chips were hard. Not cooked properly.

I was visiting with a friend from England who kept joking he was bringing the American to all the American food places. But man I'm glad we went here!!! I think they made the best chicken and waffles that I have ever had and I've had a lot of chicken and waffles. The deep fried halloumi was also amazing. The sauce they were in was to die for! If I'm ever in Glasgow again I'll make a stop here.
