Very nice Sri Lankan food. Good quantities and value. Friendly staff. Must say that some of the negative comments on this site are ridiculous. This is Sri Lankan food not Indian food!

Not at all good for north indian or spicy food

There food used to be very tasty but I think recently they have hired a new chef. Now dosa is very thin, sides are served cold and portion sizes are way smaller then what it used to be.

As authentic Sri Lankan flavours go, what’s on offer at Valentines is as good as it gets & I can vouch for that. Wholesome Sri Lankan food with a ‘home cooked’ feel. None of those oily curries on offer here, like those at most other curry houses. You are bound to leave Valentine after a meal, feeling hearty & happy. Don’t let the drab, outdated interior fool you, as it’s the food that they bowl you over with. Give these guys a try the next time you’re around Greenford/Southall area, I’d totally recommend it.

Without a shadow of doubt, the worst Indian restaurant i have ever been to. Slow poor service and awful food.

Eat here now and then with my stepfather. Good value tasty authentic dishes, courteous service, lots of choice, good portions. Just check for spiciness to ensure you get the right level. Great value set meals and can get a classic mango lassi here

First time when I tried the spices. Staff were very kind to help me with youghurt to calm my tongue. Great amount and happy to go there again

the food was very bad when i went in 19/01/2019 when me and family ordered the stater the mutton was raw and the chicken was chewy however the chicken briyani was okay but i would not recommend anyone to go there for the curry and the main just go for the briyani and dosa

Grt day out with the family... celebrating my daughters birthday 🎂. Saturday 13th.. It's the first time my wife & I have been & we have enjoyed the atmosphere. The food is excellent & the taste is as home made. Good potion for valve for money. Staff are very friendly, helpful & polite. Appears small family run business..I would personally recommend this restaurant for a couple or a family evening, outing..

I used to go to valentine regularly, food was really good. I am not going to them anymore because of the food I bought last couple of times , it was horrible no taste at all and full of oil. I don't no whether they have change the chef. They don't even deserve a one star.

The service was good. The food wasn't. We ordered a mixed grill. The meat was so tough, overcooked, overly spicy. We tried to eat it but couldn't. Perhaps if we ordered Sri Lankan food, it would've been better. The best part of it was the chocolate!

After searching on the internet for a Sri Lankan restaurants serving hoopers I came across Valentines Restaurant in Southall. I telephoned the restaurant to check they definitely did serve our desired dish and was delighted they did. The restaurant wasn’t busy for a Friday night which was surprising. We were shown to our table and found the waiting staff friendly and helpful. The menu was filled with traditional dishes and quite reasonable priced. We didn’t wait too long for our food and found it all very tasty. Somethings were hot but it’s kind of expected. We thoroughly enjoyed the fluffy hoopers with coconut sambol and seni sambol and of course coconut milk hoopers for dessert. Yummy they were amazing but very filling. With a few alcoholic drinks and a variety of dishes we paid approximately £21 ahead for 4 people which was very reasonable. Will definitely visit again!

I visited this restaurant with my family last week and it’s one of the best place for good srilankan and Indian .We ordered a mix plater for starter and I must tell you it’s delicious with variety of seafood and meat deeply fried and cooked with spicy sauce it’s a definite yes for any one wants a family starter ,for the main we had lovely mutton and chicken dum biriyaniNice tender mutton with lots of srilankan spices added in the biriyani .overall it’s a great place to have good food in Southhall and the service is fast and efficient I strongly recommend this place to any one wantsTo have typical srilankan food .keep it up guys......

Proper SriLankan food, great value!

I visited this restaurant with my elderly mother and cousin who uses a wheelchair. We were greeted by Tausy who was friendly and accommodating. We all like varying degrees of spicy food and each meal was done exactly as we ordered. We all had a lovely experience. Definitely be going again soon. Jan and family

It is a smelly restaurent, soon after tasting the starters we left the restaurent without eating it. Food was so stale that it couldn't be cooked to be soft. Avoid avoid avoid.

I dropped by here accidentally driving in Southall and since the Punjabi Resturant next door was closed decided to check this out recommend by the car shop mate in the corner. The food was priced right, quantity was good for 2 pax and tasted fantastic. Don't miss this if you like spicy food!

Great tasting quality food. We tried there delivery. Food was nicely packed. Rice was cooked properly and their other two dishes we tried were also great, palak daal and other paneer dish was also tasty.. would definitely order again. There always room for improvement. :). They should switch to plastic bpa free containers instead of aluminium ones.

I dropped by this restaurant as the one I was supposed to eat in was shut (even though the opening time was mentioned as 11 30am and I arrived at 1 pm). My friend and I were very hungry and just decided to drop into Valentine which was next door. We decided to go old school and not check out reviews before dropping in. We each ordered the rice and strong hoppers meal. The food was excellent and flavourful. The string hoppers, mutton and aubergine were in particular very good. The portions are also quite large. And the cost is very reasonable. I would be a regular if only it was closer to home!

We went on a snowy day to find comforting food. Everything was freshly prepared and very tasty, adjusted to our spice level. Good recommendations from the staff. Definitely recommended.

This is one of my favourite South Indian restaurant. Never been disappointed so far. The only negative thing that I’ll say are, the food is hot (spicy hot) even if you as for mild. For example the Devil Mogo which I order every time. And also the two small bottles of water on the table, it’s like holiday hot spot tactics.

My husband name is subhash. He took his illegal wife. I am a legal wife and three children. I found and I called that restaurant. Manager helping me and I know my husband cheating my life and children life. Manager helped that is very big help my life. Another wise I thinks my husband worked. This is a big help.

Driving past and seeing this place we thought we'd give it a chance. The decor is modern and trendy, with the staff being friendly and amazing with their recommendations. The food was just amazing and the price was shockingly good value.

Visited this restaurant more than 10 times now and keep coming back, the dosa's are so good here! Mogo chips are also very tasty. Friendly and welcoming service, it's quite a large restaurant so great if you are with a larger group.

The food was very awful, the food needs to be tested by the food standards agency. I do not recommend this bloody restaurant.

Decided to have a quick lunch as we passed the restaurant. The service was excellent. We decided on something simple - potato bhajias, idly and masala dosa as all the dishes had to be cooked freshly. All the food was pretty good apart from the sambar it was so hot that you could not eat it even though we said please keep the food mild. The waiter said sure but I do not think the restaurant understands what mild means. Shame as you could not taste the sambar.

we went here to have family dinner but did not feel comfortable. The waiter was standing beside the table asking if we are ok every minute. The food did not taste good so we just left.

Quiet when I visited. Basic cafe style decor. Sri Lankan food. No great effort in presentation so, although tasty and well cooked, the food lacks any sort of wow factor. Fairly cheap but there must be many better options. Not somewhere I would choose for a night out and the service was no more than adequate.

Booked this restaurant for my birthday celebration, 20 of us. Everything was great from start to finish. Food excellent and Arvind is very friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend. We ill be back soon.

5 Excellent rating does not do this place justice! I've ordered from here a couple of times now, and I have to say I love the food!I am so glad I live nearby! The food is delicious, I particularly like the devilled mogo, dosa and the curry dishes. I have always been so impressed and satisfied with everything. I would like to try more of their food and at some point will try more of the Sri Lankan influenced cuisine on the menu. The gentleman at the front, I believe is the owner, is so polite. It's so refreshing for staff to provide such a genuine customer service and take care of their staff. I will definitely be ordering from here again.

Food wasn't up to standards, tasted weird. Customer service wasn't great, the guy at the front did not seen welcoming. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The restaurant looks a bit dark from the outside during daytime because of the tinted windows, but as soon as we walked in it was lively and busy during lunchtime. All dishes were good and all curries had its own type of sauce with a unique fresh taste. (Not the same sauce for all the curries like in some other restaurants)

first time in this restaurant since change of owner and I must say very pleased how bright and clean it is now . the staff were so helpful with everything helping us order etc. when the meal arrived it was very good just how we wanted and the food wine and beer was a very reasonable priced .. I can honestly say we will certainly pay a return visit. and just to say the toilets were very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean.

Enjoyed the food good size portion and friendly service. And reasonably priced and fresh tasting seafood selection had their prawn and squid dish was yummy. Also asked the squid to be deep fried as they don't batter it but taste fresh. Lampraise is authentic tasting

Booked a table for 16 (12 adults and 4kids) last weekend, and we all had an amazing time. Food: cracking, no words to describe how good it was!! It was just to die for!! We were welcomed to this restaurant on Saturday evening by Ruby.There were 3 in our party, two Sri Lankans and a Welshman plus his guide dog. This Welshman loves South Indian and Sri Lankan food and we gas heard good things about Valentines. Unlike many Asian restaurants, there was no hesitation when they saw the guide dog and we were offered a really nice table.

I went with my mum and dad and they have very good food I ate ice cream and egg kothu rotti. My ice cream was also nice and very tasty.

Writing this review while I'm still in the restaurant and finishing my sweet semolina based dessert that was included with the set meal.

We used to come here when it was the Nepalese restaurant. We visited when they reopened after refurb in June 2015.. Wish we hadn't bothered. Menu not a patch on what it was when it was Nepalese. Not great vegan choices (there were quite a few before and all very tasty).

During our trip to London, we have visited this establishment with some family members.

We went to Southall on the look for a curry, and stumbled across this brilliant Sri Lankan restaurant. I personally had never eaten Sri Lankan food, but we were going to go on a trip to Sri Lanka shortly after this visit. I fell in love with Sri Lankan food, and Kottu Roti in particular.

We have been to Valentines many times and travel 40 miles! The food, value and service is amazing! Highly recommend. Try the egg hoppers they go perfectly with the lamb curry.

Been here a few times now and it's now time to write a review! You can taste every time that the dishes are cooked fresh. The best thing I like about this restaurant is that they make the dishes the way you want! So you can also request a dish spicer or milder. This is so great because my kids don't eat spicy food. Menu is plenty of choice. Raj, the manager is very welcoming every time and always looks after us. My favourite here is Kothu, and my kids love the Dosa.

We went to Sri Lanka for our honeymoon and felt in love with the delicious flavours of their cuisine. Back in UK we never found a nice Sri Lankan restaurant where we experienced this again. Until at Valentine!
