Such a great place by the sea for really good coffee. Extremely dog friendly, beds, bowls and treats are provided.

10/10 customer service! Went to watch the sunset, and were the only two sat outside - the lovely waitress whose name we didn’t catch, gave us blankets and two hot water bottles to keep us warm! Huge goblet of wine, and a hot choc. Thank you Urban Reef.

Taking advantage of position. Outrageously expensive fill of unruly Dogs, inconsiderate owners. Even saw a dog being given water from customers glass! Local but wont be back!

Fantastic meal. 12 years since we last went (last time in Bournemouth) and we went for nostalgic reasons. Best meal we had all weekend. Service was above and beyond , great team who could t have done any better to make us feel welcome. Food was outstanding, and we can not recommend highly enough. Thinking of booking, go for it you wont be disappointed.

We managed to book a table for 8 of us to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. We sat outside in the sun which was lovely. We all had a cooked breakfast and cocktails. Both the food and drinks were excellent. My only gripe would be that the service was quite slow and 2 of us had to wait a while before our food arrived. However, it was worth the wait. Would definitely visit again.

We booked this place for a Sunday lunch, as many places were full. We’re really happy with both adults and kids meals. Food was great and service was excellent too. Will return.

My husband and I took our daughter for lunch. The restaurant is really welcoming and even accepts dogs. The vegan menu was absolutely amazing. The food was absolutely delicious! All round great experience

We booked a table for Saturday evening quite late on the afternoon as we couldn’t get a table at another restaurant, turned out to be a blessing in disguise. From the minute we walked in we were looked after very well indeed, both of the front of house team were friendly and welcoming. We were seated by the fire pit (fabulous) and menus provided immediately. We selected our drinks, wine for me and a cocktail for my daughter, which were lovely. There were plenty of food options for all tastes and requirements. I had the fish and chips, my daughter had the buttermilk chicken burger. Both were delicious and clearly freshly cooked. We were checked on regularly in case we needed anything further. Highly recommend eating here and we will return on our next trip, thanks guys

We hadn't booked a table in advance during what was a busy weekend in the area, but Ciaran was able to fit us in and was very upfront in saying that we could order drinks immediately but would have to wait to order food - so he managed our expectations very well. This was not a problem as the cocktails were great as was the food. The staff were probably the most enthusiastic, friendly and flexible team we encountered in the area that weekend.

Fantastic service and really tasty food at a good price. The gluten free options were fantastic and as my fiancé is celiac she was very pleased. We would definitely eat here again.

Let’s start from the off. Covid safe big tick. Space between tables and airy room with not the whole restaurant full but enough to give the kitchen enough to do. Drinks choice, don’t go here if you want your boring run of the mill hand pump crap!! Here serves different unique drinks. Big tick!! Menu, yes a little bit restricted but remember this place has barely been open for last 18 months. Service time, quickest and freshest we have had during our week away. Very unique style and goes with the style of the restaurant. Service in general. As a previous woman who moaned about a lady waitress for saying “lovie” all the time!! Well let me say something yes she may use that word but guess what she was attentive hard working and running the show the night I went!! She is just being polite and trying to please!! She is a asset to the business!! Family and dog friendly. Food was 100%. Generally I would say 9.5 out of 10. If you feel my recommendation is not accredited, well I have ran several high end restaurants and am fussy to where I will dine. This has to be in my top 3 restaurants.

What has happened to the food?! Shockingly poor. It came out so quickly that I don't know how it was cooked fresh On the plus side our waitress was so good. Explained everything and really looked after us.

Located in the potentially bohemian part of Boscombe. An oasis in the dark of lockdown. Good menu, quality food and friendly service. I really like the Urban Guild offering. Medium to higher price.

I hold a couple of Spanish classes with Coffee Time Languages at this restaurant every week, when there is no lockdown ! We always have coffees but some of us have breakfast there or stay for lunch. It has always been a pleasant experience. Good food, good service and reasonable prices.

Bueno, ¡qué decepción! ! Solía venir aquí con bastante frecuencia y lo recuerdo como buena comida, personal amable y servicial y un ambiente acogedor. No lo he visitado durante aproximadamente un año, así que en un fin de semana lluvioso pensé que sería un gran lugar para hacer un asado. Una miembro del personal me saludó y me llevó a mi mesa, quien se refería a mí y a todos los demás como “luvie”, ¿te gustaría un trago luvie? ¿Estás listo para pedir luvie? “La zona del bar del restaurante se sentía húmeda y fría, lejos del acogedor lugar que había visitado antes. Me trajeron la cena y la cena estuvo lejos de ser caliente, especialmente las papas asadas que estaban frías y lejos de asarse, tampoco había budín de Yorkshire. Silenciosamente lo llamé la atención de la camarera luvie que se fue y regresó un tiempo después con un pudín de Yorkshire fresco y las papas que habían sido arrojadas a la freidora. Goteando aceite, no intenté comerlos. Mientras esperaba, observé en la ventana al lado de donde estaba sentado al menos 4 moscas azules gigantes zumbando alrededor. Realmente disfrutamos de nuestra comida aquí. El personal fue muy amable y ayudó con nuestras muchas (muchas) solicitudes con una sonrisa. El lugar, los baños y la mesa estaban limpios, muy tranquilizadores en estos tiempos.Todo el ambiente del lugar era encantador: nos sentamos en su terraza, mitad adentro, mitad afuera, ventanas con techo retráctil. La comida estuvo muy buena. ¡Definitivamente volveremos si regresamos a Boscombe!

Tuvimos un desayuno delicioso, probablemente uno de los mejores que he probado, huevos perfectamente escalfados, salchichas de gran calidad y tostadas de masa fermentada, además de un café excelente. Personal amable y ambiente encantador, ¡perfecto!

We were struggling to find somewhere still serving food at 9.30pm, but the lovely staff at the restaurant were very accommodating. The chicken burger was delicious. Really friendly staff, excellent customer service. Would definitely recommend!

Arrived to a unapproachable rude man,who was unhelpful and not a people’s person.wouldnt help with seating and was actually very arrogant.will never go there again as food mediocre and man so rude.ruined my nice evening

Came to urban on the 4th for the grand reopening of pubs and restaurants. They have done an amazing job of distancing everyone and controlling the flow of people. PPE was available in spade loads. Venue was spotless and staff were brilliant. Well done guys.

Visited with the Dashunds of Dorset group today. Made so welcome and they even served dog food. Food and service excellent.

First time visit and delighted with the place. Four of us had several (more than several) drinks, two courses and a bill split two ways for £70 each including tip. Great value. Had the slow cooked pie - delish others had risotto and equally good reviews. Puds good, Beers good, g&t good, atmosphere good, all round good experience. Will be back.

Eggs and toast were cold. Would have complained but our sons were treating us and we didn't want to make a bid deal of it in the circumstances. Not surprised no-one asked if we were satisfied.

Table booked in advance, for a birthday. Organised for the Hug Club promised bottle of birthday Prosecco. Had to ask for this when our food came out, and were told “this is the last time you get a bottle of Prosecco,it’ll just be a glass in future”!!Food came, 2 out of 3 dishes were cold, all food was bland.Third disappointing meal in the Urban group in 3 weeks. We won’t be back!

Was looking forward to eating here but was really disappointed, the salt and pepper squid was tasteless , really poor , chunky chips were terrible also , pub had nice atmosphere and good service but I would never return for food unfortunately, overpriced also .

The service was really poor, there was no leadership in terms of the waiting staff. People were wondering around and laughing amongst themselves whilst not being attentive to the tables. There were a number of mistakes made on different peoples orders (you can hear everything as it's a tiny restaurant). The most annoying part of the evening was the girl who kept calling us and everyone else 'darling, my love and SWEETS' I am none of these things to you so please stop talking like that and address people properly, it was every other word! Food was ok, nothing special.

I have frequented Urban Beach on a number of occasions, both for drinks and for lunch or dinner. Last Sunday was our anniversary and we called to book for lunch, as we had had our first date at Urban Beach. I asked on the phone if they had any roast dinners left, and was advised that they did, and what time did I want to come in? I booked a table for 4pm. Upon arriving at Urban Beach, we were taken to a table by a staff member acting as Maitre 'd who asked me to repeat the name of the booking twice as she had not bothered to look up from her tablet to welcome us or acknowledge my response. We were then taken to a table and presented with three adult menus, despite my daughter clearly requiring a children's menu at 10 years old. I requested a children's menu when the drinks order was taken, and our table water and glasses were left at the other end of a long table by the same member of staff. When we came to order I was told, with no apology, that I was unable to order a roast dinner as these stopped at 4pm. I advised that I had phoned and asked about a roast dinner specifically and that I would have come earlier had I been told it was not possible after 4pm. The staff member was completely unapologetic and as such I asked for our bill and to leave. We were then charged the best part of £7 for two lime and sodas and a children's squash. I suggested to the staff member that there must be a training issue as I had not been given accurate information on the telephone - nothing was said about passing this on to a manager. The food at Urban Beach is outstanding, but I am disgusted at the lack customer service experienced last weekend.

We live in Bournemouth and have never been here until someone recommend it.

Another brilliant stay, as always the staff go over and above to make you feel welcome, the food was delicious and although not on a menu, they gladly made me an espresso martini which I have to say was Delicious. Will definitely return again and again, thank you guys.

Tuve un descanso de 3 días en Bournemouth y encontré este pub donde es muy amigable para los perros. Llevé a mi perro Shih - Tzu. El personal es muy amable y muy agradable con los perros. La comida era muy sabrosa y aprobado por el chef, las salchichas estaban deliciosas, así que la coliflor nhoque.

Visited on a quiet Tuesday afternoon, we looked at the menu and were amazed at the high prices, however we assumed the food would match, Wrong, - it was at best mediocre and unappetising, cheap pub grub at super inflated prices.

Visited on a quiet Sunday afternoon, the service was incredibly slow throughout. I had booked a table so went to the front desk and the guy behind the desk was sat there chatting to his mates behind the bar, after waiting for him to finish his conversation we told him about our booking and he told us to take a seat outside, it felt as if we were putting him out by just being there.

Had a great breakfast here today - the staff are lovely and the food reasonably priced. I had poached eggs with avocado on gluten free bread £8.50. The setting is lovely, and the garden area is great.

Went with my husband as recommended by hotel staff. The customer service is lacking as staff felt the importance of entertaining each other rather than the customers. Had to draw their attention in order to get served. The food, however was delicious 😋.

Dropped in after a long walk to check out the Sunday lunch. Lovely, cosy, comfortable outside area, clean and nicely arranged. Helpful staff. We had the lamb and the beef - both looked exactly the same ... with a Yorkshire pudding on the lamb too (love them so I was happy). The veg were beautifully roasted and very flavoursome. Each dish is quite expensive at almost £16 and when you add an alcoholic drink (don't do soft!!), it was a lot of money for a lunch. We knew that of course ... the only negative was the food was SWIMMING in very watery gravy. I know people who hate lots of gravy so perhaps a gravy boat would have been more suitable.

Quirky place. It was quite busy on Sat afternoon. Seems to be a gastro pub but we didn’t eat so cant comment on food. Worth a visit just because it is do different.

Me and my partner visit this restaurant quite often as them are a very dog friendly place and they love our little milo who comes most places with us. The food is lovely and the drinks are even better.

My younger son had put down a very generous offering so that his brother and myself might celebrate our birthdays, having made several previous visits with his family.So, living up to the occasion, we'd arrived by taxi. Watch out for the very generous Starters, because the Baked Camembert almost 'did' for me, when I got to the main course. No hope of enjoying a dessert, after that, and a bottle of wine!

I booked a table at Urban Beach today for a Sunday Lunch as I had seen some nice photos of the food online. We sat down at our table and almost straight away overheard a man from another table complaining that parts of his lunch were cold. Our food seemed to take a while to come and the member of staff who took our order did apologise for the wait. When the food arrived we were very disappointed to say the least! My husband had the beef which looked like it had been bought from the sliced meat counter in a supermarket, the potatoes weren't crispy but bearable and the veg looked sad dry and some of it was under cooked. I had the lamb which to be honest looked like cheap lamb shank which you can buy in bulk in the freezer section of the supermarket. We were so disappointed especially as they had the cheek to charge £15.90 for each of them. We have been to many other places for Sunday lunch where the quality and presentation of the food was so much better and at a lower price. We can honestly say we will not ever be going back to eat here again.

What a lovely day it was today, even dragons were out to play on the beach,decided to walk from southbourne to Bournemouth. Stopped to have a coffee , at this establishment although a bit off putting a que had formed to gain a table outside.

Mi primera visita fue realmente decepcionante, comida normal y servicio horrible. Hoy le di una segunda oportunidad porque algo de comida en el menú parecía interesante. Hoy, al final, la comida estuvo bien, pero el servicio fue increíble gracias a Scarlett que nos estaba sirviendo y Olivia también fue muy educada. Con suerte, la comida será un poco menos suave la próxima vez y el resto del personal aprenderá de Scarlett. De todos modos voy a volver!

Reservamos una mesa para 5 personas para una cena temprana antes de visitar el lugar cercano o 2. El personal era muy educado y atento y nos atendió en buen tiempo, los entrantes de queso y pan estaban bien, pero los platos principales eran bastante insípidos y tibios, ya que teníamos una cantidad limitada de tiempo también tenemos una comida que decidimos también continuar y ¡Asegúrese de que otras personas sepan qué tan decepcionante es este restaurante! Por favor, no confunda este lugar con el similar arrecife urbano, ya que es un restaurante mucho más superior, no muy lejos.

Our waitress was good. Our food was lovely. But meat came separate to veg which u should never do. Wasn't expecting to share veg either. The most annoying part was paying. The chap on the till had a flippant attitude and didnt seem to care. My payment went void, didn't apologise and kept my void slip. The lady next to him shouted something to herself/ him which was not appropriate in front of a customer. Didn't feel overall welcomed and staff very much just doing the bare minimum. Would have paid about £15 for meal received not £22. Will not be back or recommend. If u do go for food lets hope u get better staff.

We are always well looked after when my friends & I go here for lunch. Interesting & varied menu. Good wine choice. All the staff are very friendly, which makes for a very relaxing atmosphere,

It's been a year since we last went to Urban Beach but it did not disappoint. Great Friendly, happy staff, nice ambience and great live music last night, 6/12/18. Put that together with a nice selection of beers and reasonably priced wines, great food and that ticks all the boxes you need. A must visit.

Went for dinner with my mum last night. We had cheddar and cider fondue (to DIE FOR) and then I had mussels. Really enjoyed the food. Delicious and great portion sizes! We couldn’t fit in a dessert!

Looked lovely from the outside but a job to find the door in . After walking into a conservatory on the side of the building which had people smoking in which I don’t think is legal. We were asked if we wanted to sit in or out we choose in . We were told to find and table and someone would bring a menu to us which they promptly did. We read the menu as best we could the print being so small and the lights very dim made it difficult. I had a guild beef burger and chunky chips my wife had the plant power burger with fries. My burger was falling apart and the chunky chips or potatoe wedges I would call them were raw in the thicker parts did not enjoy it. My wife enjoyed hers we had a pint of larger and half a craft beer and it came to nearly £40 pounds which I think is over the top but make your own judgement.

New menu at urban beach launched last week. Tried the roast Sunday and it was super delicious. Meat was the best bit!!! Well done xx

Quiet drinks in hotel bar as open mic night finished early, plenty of hotels/places nearby to do similar too.

I've been here several times for meals and occasionally a meal. Situated just a few minutes' walk from the beach but slightly hidden away in a residential area which is a bonus as it can be quieter then other more obvious places. Food is always great and a good selection of beers and wines. Service is efficient and friendly and the relatively large outdoor area is great all year round thanks to the retractable roof.

Popped in here for breakfast and the eggs Benedict was just just lovely. As was the latte coffee. Lovely staff who are more than helpful. We joined the Hug Club as a result and will definitely return.

I had cold dinner, my lamb shank was cold, came with freezing cold gravy and cuscus salad. When I ask politely if this is how you serving food i was told yes! Not recommending lamb.

Went for dinner there tonight, had a FLIPPING DELICIOUS vegan Indonesian curry there. It was the yummiest meal I have had in a very long time. The waitress was also pure sunshine. Would definitely recommend :)

Went with 12 others for a birthday celebration. They said they had only one chef so food might be slow. Half came out and then when they had finished the other half of our meals came out, not great for a group meal, that wasn’t slow service it was completely disorganised. I had steak and chips, not the most complex meal, it was awful. The steak was not blue as requested but well cooked, the chips were soggy, both tasted horrible, didn’t eat, just said politely I want very hungry, not easy to complain as didn’t want to taint the birthday celebrations. Waitress was useless, we did most of her job for her with clearing plates and glasses. It wasn’t until the bill came that others commented on how awful their food was as well as the service. We spent just under £200 on food and another £250 on alcohol (which was expensive), going to get a McDonald’s take out with a couple of bottles of prosecco for a picnic on the beach would have been better. The so called beach boutique hotel is also no where near the beach but it is round the back of the shops at the bottom of Boscombe. Would highly avoid.

Popped here for a rare child free lunch. Service was excellent, all the staff were smiley and friendly. The food was fab and huge portion sizes. No complaints here

Thought l would grab a quick lunch as l had been before for a Guinness but, was l disappointed with the food. Wanted Cod got Haddock long wait and finally it arrived. But it was a grease fest of cold undercooked fries. Triple cooked l was told cold mushy peas grease covered haddock and all in all so below par that it should be avoided for food until they employ a chef who cares.

3 of us dined there last night - for a Thursday pretty quite - got a nice table . Food once it came out was nice i had lamb shank the ladies had mussels - we asked for specials board to be told there was none then as we were nearly leaving another couple came in and asked for the board and it appeared ! Had to get up to get attention for service despite the place being quiet . Desserts were again slow to come out but yummy when they did - salted caramel mmmm . Only other comment would be a 250ml glass of savignon blanc @ £9.50 is taking the P ! A bill of nearly £90 odd for 3 people for 3 mains 3 desserts and 4 drinks

We booked a one night stay with breakfast included. We were impressed by the tiny details; all the staff were friendly and took the time to chat, we were there for a wedding and they all seemed to know and appeared interested. The room was excellent with lovely attention to detail - lovely soaps, shower gels, complimentary water, quality coffee and biscuits supplied in the room. Really comfy bedding and a dyson fan (which was fantastic in this heatwave.)

On arrival we saw they had a new menu. Whilst having a drink we looked through the new menu. An odd mixture of items so we had a look online to see what urban reef was serving as Just done the hill and their sister restaurant, the menu was exactly the same. We finished are drink and headed back into Bournemouth. Such a shame as it used to be such a great place for a spot of lunch and a bottle or 2 of wine. I like to support independent businesses but this has become a chain.

popped in for a sunday roast but disappointingly not serving today. Specials board had 2 different sharing dishes-£55 so instead went for chicken fillet, roast new potatoes and bacon cabbage at £17.

Was in here on a Sunday with my family who had travelled down for the weekend. My girlfriend and I often come to Urban Beach but have recently been going less and less due to the exceedingly long wait for food and the variance of the quality. When we first started going there around a year ago your food would come promptly, and the food will be delicious. More recently, it'll take 45 minutes- 1 hour for the food to come, it may or may not be delicious (not sure why it varies so much) and the service will be slower, which has now happened 3 times. We really don't want to stop going because the place itself is lovely and when the food and service is good it's our favourite place to go. Hopefully they sort it all out soon!

The Urban Beach is my "local" and I'm sending this review because of the ridiculous review that went in saying this area is unsafe and therefore Urban Beach should be avoided. The only people who don't like Boscombe are the people who don't live here. I have been in Boscombe and literally a three minute walk from Urban Beach for four years and I feel perfectly safe at any time of day or night in this area. The staff at the UB are always very enthusiastic, very welcoming and always happy to accommodate any visitors. In other words they treat their clients as just that - CLIENTS. Bit of a rarity these days. For those who don't know when the temperature drops a little there is also underseat heating in the patio area as well as open fire when weather calls for it. You can also get a green tea in a china pot for 2 quid - they don't do that at Costa - and it is served to you. I will keep going to the Urban Beach as long as I live here and it will always be a must to take my guests when they come to stay as it has been up until now. Well done to Mark, Charlotte and all the staff team for turning out such an original and welcoming place to go for a break, a meal or a smile.

We went twice in 4 days. First visit the 4 of us had sandwiches at lunchtime, a generous amount, well presented and delicious. At the second visit we were 6 and we all had a proper lunch, two interesting starters of strange bread, homous and oil. Mains were one steak, two sea bass in papellotte two fish and chips and a chicken curry. All said it was excellent. On both occasions the staff were friendly,helpful and efficient. Also great ale. We've eaten at Urban Reef on various occasions and it's also good. A company that knows how to cater and run a good business. Will return.

Visited with my cousin last night.... great customer service from Gareth and the food was delicious and well presented .

Please note this is a review for the bar, not the restaurant. Just wanted to say the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. We did not eat on this occasion but will definitely return, next time we are in town.

Full of pretentious yuppies, bottle of cheap wine £25 yes £25 folks, pint of flat lager £5, overpriced food of only canteen quality, can’t believe there sheer arrogance, it’s even on the cheap side of Boscombe, over Owls Road traffic lights is the upmarket Boscombe Spa, LOL yes that is a bit of a joke, don’t waste your money on this place folks you will be disappointed.

We have just returned from a fab 2 night stay at Urban Beach Hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and big and had all mod cons, the bed especially big and comfy and good bed linen. The restaurant had a great outside terrace so we ate Al Fresco as the weather was good, but in the winter they have outside heaters and blankets so well catered for, the restaurant was excellent nice and lively and plenty of choice - no need to go into town it was all there. Also only 5 min walk to the beach with their beach bar Urban Reef for lovely cocktails with a sea view. Best pancakes we ever had for breakfast!

On a weekend break to Bournemouth we decided to stay in this Hotel and very happy we did, the staff were EXTREMELY helpful, Friendly and couldn't do enough to accommodate your needs and help you have a pleasant stay.

We had a lovely breakfast on Saturday morning, the staff as always were super, very relaxed atmosphere - perfect hangover cure! The food was delicious and it’s reasonably priced! Would always recommend this place ! Thanks #teamurban

Una reserva para 10 en Urban Reef para una celebración 80 º cumpleaños estaba en el borde de desastre cuando Charlotte entramos y nos permitió tener una velada encantadora. No insistir en el error humano, porque lo que tuvimos fue un excelente servicio, excelente comida y vino, y muy divertida. La comida estaba bien la mesa. Dos de nosotras compartimos 18 ostras, otros disfrutamos de cangrejo, caballa seguido por una ensalada Cesar con pollo, surf y turf y los cachetes de carne de langosta y una variedad de otros platos principales maravilloso y luego helados y queso bajó muy bien. El vino rosado fue excepcionalmente buena. Charlotte solucionó el problema muy bien y han contribuido inmensamente a nuestro disfrute de la noche. Gracias a todos por un momento memorable. Volveremos pronto!

Comimos allí la última noche. Buena comida y servicio como siempre. Cuando pedimos un plato de huevo negro budín escocés que solía servir como entrante la camarera fue a ver al chef y disponerse de forma que la próxima vez que visitemos Bournemouth si les dan una semana de aviso te ponen en las ofertas especiales para nosotros. Que es el excelente servicio de atención al cliente. No me sorprende que sea tan popular.

Just got back from a family meal at urban beach.

On a gorgeous summer day a few years ago I visited this beachside bar / restaurant and enjoyed a lovely few hours enjoying some tasty treats so when I was in the area with my partner we decided to breakfast here. With the promise of a selection of what was on offer we walked here to be greeted by friendly staff and a full restaurant. Luckily we got a table but that's when the luck ran out. Having ordered coffee when it failed to arrive we remained parched. Food was ordered, not an amazing choice..I was puzzled why th vegan option offered a gluten free roll. It seemed like they lump all dietary choices together. I tried to order a breakfast item but that wasn't available until 11 for some reason but that wasn't possible. Suddenly my partners breakfast arrived.

Exactly what my title to the review says - great food at a great location. The food is super scrummy and for pricing when I compare it to what I can get in London for a similar price, it is great value for money. The portion sizes are perfect and fill you up comfortably without leaving you feeling as though you've indulged more than you should have!

Popped in for lunch. Can’t fault it. Most of us had sandwiches, not the cheapest but very nice. Staff lovely. Been assured that Sunday lunch is quite tasty

We were shown to our table quickly and drinks ordered but after waiting 30 minutes for someone to take our food order we were starting to get worried. Eventually someone turned up but was unable to answer our questions about the food. Nevertheless we ordered...

I no longer eat here. When it first opened it had a fab beach bar vibe with great food at reasonable prices, fantastic music. Now the beach bar vibe has gone, the food is still good but very poncy and over priced. It's lost its...

Booked a week in advance for a special Birthday meal only to be told when we arrived that nothing had been received online! We were offered the outside covered seating area which was quite chilly even though they offered us blankets & heated seating! The food menu was quite pricey but ordered 2 x fish n chips & a burger being the cheapest option. The Fish n chips were very dissapointing with aprox 6 chips & fish pink inside so not sure if fully cooked? We requested more chips which came but all in all a very dissapointing eve. The Manager did come over to see us at the end of the eve & a drinks voucher for Chaplins was given as a gesture of goodwill & a discount on the food was given. All in all a sad end to what was supposed to be a nice Birthday treat for a special friend!

Came here as a group. I had the burger and chips, the burger was below average and just a few chips on the plate. The price of the drink (black-current and water) did it for me, wouldn’t go back or recommend.

Just got back from an overnight stay at Urban Beach Hotel. Greeted with warmth and efficiency we were immediately shown to our room which was bigger than usual hotel rooms with everything catered for, even a DVD player with a wide selection of films available to borrow. We went down to dinner in the warm and inviting restaurant, which is served by very enthusiastic and upbeat staff. The meal we had was so good I had to review. My husband had the scotch egg to start which was melt in the mouth delicious. We shared the fish and chips (delicious and light) and the beef Wellington (out of this world tasty and tender!) we thought it couldn't be topped but dessert came and it did! Sticky toffee pudding with lots of little delicious side extras like a cone full of cream and crushed toffee /nut crunchy loveliness with salted caramel ice cream! Totally divine, and totally stuffed. (3 huge courses- they definitely don't scrimp!) The following morning we had breakfast which was a lovely selection of fresh fruits, cereals and croissants plus a delicious cooked menu (including 5 pancake options as it was pancake day!) the morning staff were equally as friendly, smiley and helpful.
