Uptown Kitchen in Ballymena

Lovely and tasty food, but unfortunately no vegetarian options for lunch. I choose salmon which was well cooked with a lovely sauce with sundried tomato and spinach. There was no mixed salads to pick from for sides apart of the caesar salad ... They should cater for vegetarians too, even if the restaurant belongs to the butcher. The other meals look lovely too. Nice hot plates makes a difference for a good meal too. Very busy restaurant, clean , lovely atmosphere and the staff were attentive and helpful.

Food was delicious, but it seemed to be you leave your plates behind and go up to the till to pay. That was fine but I asked the girl at the till for a takeaway box as I wanted to take half of my meal home. As we waited for someone to bring out a takeaway box, I noticed that another waitress had cleared our table. This was disappointing as we had paid £13 a meal and I wanted to finish the rest. Overall lovely food but would be good if waitresses came to the table to clear away food so you can ask for takeaway boxes.

Having initially offered a lunchtime meal for £10 including a drink, that soon changed to £10 not including a drink. Then £11. Then £12 and now £13. Not content with that my chicken curry yesterday arrived looking like a pea curry with some chicken in it. We have already cut down our once weekly visit to once a month. At their current rate of price rises and cutting corners that gap will only increase. The service is always good though.

I dined here regularly and the food is good, however today I was charged £1.50 for mayonnaise to dip my chips in, there are other cafes in the town where condiments are complimentary, I think I will dine elsewhere in future.

Great breakfast. Lovely atmosphere and surroundings. Attentive staff. Maybe a little more expensive than other breakfasts in the town but much superior.

Delicious food, excellent service, always clean and busy. Breakfast stacks are tasty, Loaded fries are also a winner. Butchers is top notch ;)

The staff are really nice however they tend to gather around the counter and you have to wait until their conversation is finished to get any service. Also the food is just great.

Can you please post opening hours on Google? Was closed on a Sunday.

Been here a few times, nice food, some dishes nicer than others, seems to always take a long time to get service and drinks which is a bit annoying but overall enjoyable

Recently ate in Crave for the first time after being advised to try it by multiple people. The food was absolutely delicious. I’ll most definitely be back and will tell everyone how great it was.

Part of husbands food cold. It would be nice to get 2 choices of soup. Mine was ok egg was hard but hubby ate it. Very busy at lunch times. Elder people arrived by lift but couldn't join queue as it was going downstairs. Staff busy clearing tables which was great. Very hard working people. Well done. Too many chicken dishes for someone who does not eat chicken.

Visited Crave today got a table at window right away even though it was busy We bothhad the Rump Steak Sandwich with chips It was excellent service was very good Very reasonable price with Two Pots of Tea We will definitely be back next time in Ballymena Thanks Geraldine Definitely worth a visit you will not be disappointed

I can only comment on breakfasts their fry is excellent and well priced

Food is excellent, and the waiting staff were OK but not overly friendly or engaging with customers.

Staff really pleasant but service a little slow. It was extremely busy when we visited. Food was very tasty. Recommend.

Comfortable cafe/restaurant above the butchers. Well patronised. Had a small build your own fry. The white pudding was tasty but I think there are better cafes serving cooked breakfasts in the town.

Have been a few times. Food good, but very slow service. Food always takes about 30 minutes to arrive at table. Won't rush back.

Excellent food at a great price. The restaurant was clean and clear. Very accessible with a lift and and an accessible bathroom. With the deli downstairs, it's a brilliant place to get lunch and then pick up dinner for later.

Great place with excellent quality food at reasonable prices. The dirty fries was enough for two and everything was perfectly cooked with good quality meat, as you would expect. We'll be back!

This place has gone drastically down hill !! 😰 When it 1st opened the food was quality and prices were decent. My family of 10 have been going weekly for the past few months and as of today i highly doubt we will be back. Some staff have no table manners or service skills from dirty looks to rude comments 😡 They no longer use the meat from the adjoining butchers, the sausages have white gristle like lumps,😷 the bacon is over cooked so much when dropped on the plate it bounced! You can taste and see the yoke in the poorly scrambled eegs. 🤮 The soda bread was only cooked on 1 side and the potato bread wasnt cooked through. 🤢 The portions are irregular from plate to plate nevermind week to week. Nevermind £2 for any drink outside of the breakfast offer. Whether its a can, a very small OJ or hot drink.😲

A couple of weeks ago would have rated top marks but as of the past week I find the food mediocre and hospitality and manners sadly lacking 😐

Prices went up so that theres no drink for £1 with a meal that used to be £9. £10 seemed affordable and good value, but when the meal went up to £10 and drinks to full price suddenly there was an almost £2 increase. And why oh why is there now two small burgers in the burger bap balancing atop each other instead of one large burger; just makes it really hard to eat. Still good food. Value edging towards expensive for a lunchtime meal

Lovely people, incredible food and excellent value. High quality butchers on the ground floor, what's not to like?
