Delicious. Very well presented and very tasty small dishes. My Coctail was exceptional too. Attention to detail . We didn't had a booking but that didn't matter at lunchtime. We were met by a lovely staff members, very friendly and helpful.

This is a fantastic restaurant, food, cocktails and staff are great. The tastes of the pork belly dumplings is to die for and sushi deep fried beef is our second favourite. Love going to UMI, I cannot wait to return. Thank you Tim and Jess great hosts.

Food was amazing very very tasty and not too expensive.The cocktails were great but expensive for what u got.I thought the music was a little too loud and difficult to have a conversation while dining

Before we sat down we were told the table had to be back for 7pm, as there is a 1.5 hour limit and we were a little late. From the beginning I felt rushed like I could not relax because of the time limit, the food came down very fast one plate after another. The food was nice but some strange food combinations. I would have liked to order a dessert or cocktail at the end of the meal but there was no time, as our time was up, spent€85 for just over an hour and it went by in a flash, not my normal dining experience, I don’t think I would rush back because of the time limit on tables, it doesn’t make you feel very welcome, even thou the staff were very nice.

All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed every single dish that we ordered (the desserts were outstanding). Good quality food with excellent flavouring throughout. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside was that I felt the bottles of wine were overpriced for their level of quality. Would be more than happy to eat at Umi again.

Outstanding. I couldn’t recommend uni highly enough. Fantastic to have something so unique and delicious in Northern Ireland. The spicy salmon maki was the highlight for me. The pricing was also very good. Can’t wait to return.

As always absolutely flawless food Great small plates and then a tremendous curry Super service with friendly Tim who is enthusiastic friendly but never intrusive Standouts where the Monkfish and the Wagyu

I was really impressed with the food in Umi. I had the confit of duck and chicken bao buns. They were both to die for. There was a great choice on the menu and I was also very impressed with the service. Great experience

Amazing food, great cocktails, and really cool vibes. We were a table of 6 so got to try lots of different things on the menu and they were all great. My new favourite restaurant in Derry, will be back soon

We ordered and our food came out within minutes. Totally rushed and like they where trying to get rid of us. I have had to wait longer at McDonald’s. It was all at once, considering they’re small plates we expected it tapas style with a bit of time to enjoy each one. The food was good, well cooked and seasoned. Although for a place that advertises itself as a sushi restaurant, it only offered 4 dishes of sushi. That was so disappointing. The portions where quite small and we did have to order more dishes. Bill came, and it was rather expensive for what we got. But no one held a gun to our head before ordering. Overall our evening was a tainted experience brought about by a young undertrained staff member who should at least have the basics in customer care and common sense. Never experienced such rudeness in a restaurant before. In and out in an hour charged £150, not exactly the best “night out” with my friend.

We happened upon this restaurant & what a find! Friendly service, fantastic interesting, tasty food & great drinks. Our group had a few of the small plates & a curry- everyone enjoyed all their food. We would happily return on our next visit to Derry.

Food was good, however we felt rushed as on arrival we were told the kitchen was closing early. We were surprised by this, as we pre-booked our table for 8:15pm and we weren't made aware of this at the time of the booking. When we finished our starter and mains, we asked the waiter if we could order a desert and he told us the Chefs had gone home. This was a real shame and shows a lack of professionalism since the restaurant opened until 9pm and there were another 2 slots available to book after us. We did the booking via the app, and we weren't notified anything. We love the experience other times but certainly won't be back again, since it was embarrassing not only for the waiter to let us know Chefs were gone but also for us to explain our Basque friend who was visiting Derry and having the Umi experience the ways of the staff.

What a spot! Food was 11/10. Service the same, drinks phenomenal. Couldn’t recommend UMI enough. It was fantastic. The whole atmosphere here was fab. Staff were all amazing. Thanks to Charlie and Jess who served us. They were lovely and so accommodating. Already can’t wait to come back again. It was just fab overall

Utterly mystifying why this fabulous place isn’t in the top reaches of the TA listings, as it was absolutely superb. Very buzzy on a Friday evening, but the service didn’t suffer. We went down the small plates route, ordering a couple of things at a time which worked fine for a well paced meal. Everything was delicious, starting with the nigiri selection then 4 of the 5 small plate options. The duck leg spring rolls & pork dumplings were as good a plate of food as we’ve had in a long while. We also had huge fun exploring a very creative and enticing cocktail menu. If we somehow ended up living in Derry I’d struggle to avoid pitching up here most weeks!

this is the best in Derry. some stunning food just hope it lasts Derry has an attitude of price and quantity sometimes not quality this place is something to be proud of. Exceptional food thinking outside the box confidence in what you are Doing. highly recommended can’t fault it.

Simply the best Asian food I have ever had Simple menu well explained and sublime tastes Cool vibe and excellent staff - we were served by Tim - just lovely I have been twice in 4 days it’s that good

A very interesting place, nodding to Japan , something that’s lacking in the north. Brilliant salmon and soft shell crab styled the Japanese way. Some outstanding Scallops and Lamb cutlets maybe a little underdone as the fat on them was just as it left the woolly 4 legged friend , But full of flavour so we didn’t mind. Energetic staff, a lovely experience. Great to see some decent fish cookery, an oasis in the culinary desert.
