Twice The Spice in Dudley

I ordered the naan with chicken balti inside of it. It was very soggy I also ordered the samosas and there was no taste to it.and they looked pale like and not even crispy,i am very disappointed because I didn't eat it and now having to order food again from somewhere else!!!!

Always have takeaways from here but decided to eat in for a change was nice and quiet and no booking need. No liquor licence so can bring own drinks. Quick service and food was lovely as always!!

I only live a couple of minutes from this place yet only been in twice, the first time being around 10 years ago. From the outside it doesn't look very promising, typically very dark with no one in it. However this is because it is only open to dine in on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday, otherwise it's only open for takeaways. I only recently found this out from my daughter, who in turn from her father in law. Both have their takeaways from here and both are very fussy. Given this we thought we would give it a try despite some less than informative reviews. To be honest the restaurant dining area does need a bit of TLC but that's the only downside, and conversely the gents toilet is immaculate. We enjoyed the poppadoms and dips but didn't have starters and went straight to mains. I had a very flavoursome Desi Chicken tikka and the wife a chicken balti, we both thought they were excellent, definitely as good as anywhere and better than most. Just as my daughter had promised and to be honest I was surprised. I am not a fan of technicolour pilau rice and the naan bread is a grilled rather than from the tandoor but both tasted just fine. The service was pleasant enough and the bill extremely good value, helped by being able to take your own alcohol. Whilst in there I did notice that there was a busy takeaway trade which must keep it going.

Was nice but not very hot, and bag of chips was tiny for the price. Use to be higher than the one I received.

There were 12 of us and we were put in a room that was cold and we had to wait ages until we were served. Food was good however from starters until we left it took 3 hours

We had family and friends get to gather.it was amazing and food was fresh and delicious.service was very nice and pleasant. I will not do justice if I will not mention Afzal.He mad the whole process very pleasant. Definitely recommend it

First time eating from this place and I have to say it was the worst food I have ever eaten me and my 8 years son was up all night in agony with our bellys and I had to take my self and my son to the hospital and we have food poisoning absolutely shocking that can serve sh*t food like that

Food was good however disappointed that no poppadoms were received. If I call or use their site they provide them but they don’t on just eat🙄

Ordered a takeaway tonight (612024), after placing my order, asked a) how much and b) estimated time of arrival. Guy on the phone "45 minutes". Usually delivery is between 25 and 30 minutes (been having my food from here for around 3 years...as it is very good). At 65 minutes, gave them a ring Guy on the phone " ...sorry, driver had a puncture, had to bring food back and warm it up, should be with you in around 6 minutes.. ". Fair enough, 8 minutes later my buzzer goes...it's the delivery driver..." Hello. ..got your food... ". I go down, I say hello, what happened..? Delivery guy..." Oh, big mix up, I went to wrong address. .. ". Phoned 'twice the Spice ' me...hello, your driver has just delivered, he reckons he's delivered to the wrong address, so...did he have a puncture, or...did he go to the wrong address...? Guy on phone..." Well, he was late anyway. ..so we had to warm it up. I said that would have accepted the honest answer, and wouldn't be using twice the Spice again, to which he replied "That's up to you mate.." . If you don't mind a 1hour 20 minute wait, the good is quite good, but the public service is bad...and staff rude.

the keema balti was totally bland, no spice no taste. This has never happened before and I hope it never happens again or I will be changing what was my favourite Indian restaurant. Bring back the Rose of Kashmir...

That was the worst £30 I have ever spent, food was rubbish and when I called to let them know I had an item missing, the hun on the phone was rude, he practically called me a liar.

This restaurant when it was the Light of Asia many moons ago was our favourite curry house by far back in the Seventies and Eighties so I made nostalgic trip back there last night. What a total disappointment ! Chicken Jalfrezi with no sign of any chilli, pulao rice with no hint of any flavour and completely overpriced. Never again !!!!!

Wow, the chicken tikka massala was beautiful. Really tasty, the sauce was lovely and thick. The naan bread was nice but a bit too much garlic. Delivery driver was very polite. Will be ordering again for sure :) Thank you

Tarka daal was not tasty at all tasted more like hospital soup nobody in my family liked it, and it was to sweet and all u cud taste was tamoatoes u cudnt taste none of spices or garlic.

Very disappointing tonight the chicken and chips that was ordered for my wife was not what I expected, when I ordered it that was what I expected but got 7 small pieces of diced chicken not a piece of chicken, had a better portion in a child's Happy meal from McDonald's, Definitely not worth £6.95, shall not be ordering again if that's the idea of a meal

I ordered butter chicken and garlic chilli chicken masala both were terrible in taste. The “ chilli” Chicken was rather sweet. It had absolutely no flavor. I also ordered garlic naan, the garlic was literally just cut into small pieces and separately put on top of the naan. Horrible, horrible taste. Also the samosas were cold even though the delivery was on time.

Such great tasting food, delivery is always so quick and lovely delivery guys. I will always order my curry from here!

Food was good and plentiful staff very polite however the bill was a shock overpriced in our opinion and no hot cloth or mint at end as you normally get from other eateries costing approx 10 quid less. Won't return due to price sorry.

Normally I would rave about this restaurant, however, not this order. It came far to quick, therefore was it freshly cooked. 1 dish was missing, 2 other dishes had no taste at all, just watery. Naan bread was like leather, the rice was very nice though. I was a new and regular customer, unfortunately I won't order from there again.

Absolutely amazing from start to finish, impeccable service, very friendly staff, the food is superior to any Indian restaurant in the Dudley area, I have had many takeaways from the restaurant before and they have been perfect every time, but I strongly suggest to go and have a meal in the beautiful and spotlessly clean restaurant, 100% fantastic night out.

Worst Indian ever !!! Ordered off uber eats it was delivered within 30 mins that told me definitely not cooked fresh we ordered a lamb tikka pathia it was so bland no spice to it at all very tasteless would never order from here again will go back to my usual takeaway

OMG sensational food and atmosphere at Twice the spice, High St Dudley. The staff were exceptional 10/10. The poppadoms were fresh, crispy and irresistible 9/10. The starters: the chicken tikka was tender and juicy and a generous portion 7/10 The sheesh kebabs were decent - both served in a bed of onions on a sizzler 7/10. The mains: chicken tikka karahi was next level. the spices and chillies were just perfect, proper authentic and a generous portion 9/10. The chicken jalfrezi was equally as good. mouthwatering and authentic. the spices were just sublime. 9/10 The tandoori rotis were absolutely gigantic and baked to perfection 10/10 - perfect with those delicious curries Fries were crispy and fresh 7/10 thefoodsheikh highly highly highly recommends this establishment. First class Restaurant on the edge of Dudley town centre.

Very bland food first order and last very bland not even Pakistani style as requested. Those who don’t no what Indian style food tastes like its good for them . Bland and plain . Like food from the frozen section in stores

Absolutely disgusting behaviour and service, of a guy called ishtihaq charges different prices everytime saying menu changed, everytime when questioned! trying to rip off his customers like myself ive been ordering food from here years and it's nothing but trouble very greedy too , only send 1 bag of salad with sauce regardless of order size, well goodbye to bad RUBBISH .

Delivery was 15-minutes early but driver was friendly. Portion sizes of the curry and naan was good but rice was small. Food was barely warm considering the driver transported it in an insulated food container. Very disappointed with the taste, flavours were nonexistent and VERY bland. I normally save half of the meal and eat the leftovers the following day but on this occasion it went in the bin. I wouldn’t recommend and won’t be returning. I will stay with my usual curry house and pay the slightly higher price for a guaranteed nice takeaway.

we enjoyed our food we ordered chicken tikka curry naan which was large enough to share, chicken rice which came in a small pot (no option to choose size). chips were cooked fresh, curry sauce was nice. no criticism. if I had to be picky I'd like the menu to state small and large so I know what I'm ordering. will order again

Chips let it down.. were like they had been re heated and cooked way before was delivered. We’re cold and hard… other food was nice but wasn’t the hottest , was Surprised was no complimentary poppadums too, not even one

I use Twice the Spice regularly but this was my first Tikka Masala. Absolutely delicious, cannot fault their food. A*

I hadn't been here in years so decided on a weekend treat.. what a disaster it was! For a few starter dishes we decided the hour delivery was far too long a wait so we collected instead. The food was waiting at the front desk in a plastic container (nothing to facilitate keeping the food warm) so no surprises the food was barely warm. The free poppadoms given were completely soft, one might say stale (hence the freebie) The food was so bland and chewy it was quite apparent it had been reheated over and over to where it became spoiled. I wouldn't have given any stars but wanted to let customers know to go elsewhere.
