Went to Devils pulpit and searched for vegan options nearby... turnip the beet came up as nearby. Was quiet as being on Monday so we got served straight away. Menu was a bit smaller than usual but we had more than enough choice to choose from. We have two wraps and a filled naan and the homemade soup...all very good. The tea and almond cappuccino were also very good! Great wee pitstop and host was up for a wee chat and laugh too.

Served cold hard nan then served lukewarm curry twice. When I complained, I was offered a refund which I refused plus a barrage of lip from a sniggering assistant muttering things under her breath as she walked passed me. Don’t complain or else you will be shouted down. Told to ‘not come back! (Charming) when I said they need to ensure food is hot if serving it hot. Assistant Burt out laughing. Curry ended up in their bin. They also don’t serve rice. If you are serving hot food, it needs to be heated through.

We paid our first visit here today and it won't be our last. We stopped by after a walk from our new home near Killearn, and ordered some takeaway coffees which were very good. We then decided to buy ourselves a thali meal for two, to take home for our Saturday evening treat. We got lamb jalfrezi, Korean pork belly, gunpowder potatoes, dhal, paneer curry, naan bread, onion bahjis and pickles all for £25. I said to my wife "if the food is as good as the coffee I'll be very happy" Well here we are later on Saturday evening, both very full and very happy. We'll be back to try the rest of the menu. Just enjoyed my first ever takeaway from Turnip the Beet. We had 3 dishes: butter chicken; korean pork belly; and chilli prawns. All 3 were rich in flavour and made with beautiful fresh ingredients. Much nicer than a 'standard' takeaway curry - the sauce was savoury without being oily and the prawns especially were cooked to perfection - just enough firmness and retaining enough of the flavour of the sea. I also want to add that the poppadoms were the best I have ever eaten - obviously cooked fairly freshly today. I can't wait to come back. 3 great curries for just £25.

Wow! I have just had a fantastic meal from Turnip The Beet. This deli, with a take-away service, offers wonderful curries and much much more, whilst also being very environmentally conscious. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Butter Chicken (a rich flavour with lovely depth), the Beef Massaman (a glorious warmth of balanced heat and Thai spices, packed with flavour), and the Matar Paneer (another wonderful range of flavours with just the right balance of spices), accompanied by some of the tastiest naan I have eaten in many many years. This take-away from the deli was packaged with minimal plastics - and what was used was plant-based and compostable. Turnip the Beet are proud of their eco-friendly ethos - which is fully justified. I would class myself as a bit of a ‘curry-fanatic’ having lived and worked in the Middle East and I can easily vouch for the curry from Turnip the Beet being absolutely first class.

Dropped in for something to take out for lunch and coffee. Coffee was delicious ( I had a mocha), take out lunch was really tasty, shared with hubby and we were both impressed it was healthy and really tasty. Prices good too. Environmentally friendly with all packaging made out of veg ware so decomposes. Also now have a range of package free products, snacks, spices, flour etc. Just what the area needs. If you are in the area or on the West Highland Way you must pay a visit. Special mention for the owner and all the staff who are so friendly.

The make your own meal beat boxes are amazing! so much great quality produce. Just had the vegetable jalfrezi, was simple to make with the right instruction, and the lime cut right through the whole thing making for a delicious Friday night feast. If anything far too much food for one man!! See below, two old reviews i gave: Boil in the bag meals for hikers etc are perfect! Went in, tasted a few options, picked what I wanted, and left with very good value for money. The faces on the other hill walkers when we rocked up to a bothy, them wrestling with a disposable BBQ in the wind, and us with a chicken curry and mexican rice! amazing new place. outside catering was brilliant, and the family loved the butter chicken and the chickpea and bean casserole. Laura makes great sauces/dressings etc which complement the food perfectly
