This was my first visit to a well thought of restaurant which you must book in advance and on line with a £10 deposit. The atmosphere was cordial and the service brisk. No starter on this occasion but our mains where Thai Green chicken curry and crispy sweet chilli chicken with egg fried rice, and sweet chilli fries. The food was fabulous and we tried a little of each others. Dessert was Mango and Passion Fruit sorbet. On the down side, soft drinks are from a large bottle and have lost their sparkle, and while the waitresses were hard working and busy they didn't need the guy in shorts and a T shirt barking orders at them even if he was the owner/manager. Let the girls get on, they were doing their job just fine. Having said that, we will return as the food was a delight.

Food is absolutely delicious, staff are extremely friendly. Only drawbacks are it's a little expensive and there are not enough toilets.

I had been meaning to try this place for a while and had heard good things... And... Everything I had heard was true! The food was exquisite and not overhyped at all. The portions were very generous. The staff were really friendly and the place was spotless. Definitely worth going to, and if you don't love locally it is definitely worth the drive.

Have ordered a few takeaways from here and it’s always been really nice. I’ve just had a masaman curry and it was super tasty and full of flavour only thing I have to say was that I ordered beef but I got chicken instead but it was still nice and there was just one small cube of potato in the dish. My partner had the Thai crispy duck and it was good as well. The food was ready super quick but overall the food is really lovely.

We're over visiting from Scotland on our honeymoon and this has honestly been one of the best meals we've had in a long time! So much so, we've booked in again before we go home! Everything was just so tasty and the vegetarian options are fantastic. Service is great and the staff are so friendly. Can't wait to come back! :)

My wife went with her friends and said it was very nice indeed. I got a carry out and it was the best tasting carryout I have ever had. The taste was outstanding and more than enough to eat. The meal I had was Tai Green Curry. I cannot comment on anything else at this time but will definitely be eating there again.

Had myself the most amazing pad Thai (I went for chicken) and omg the taste was delicious and soooooo fresh, we also had the most amazing crispy beef in blackpepper and had a few special requirements which they were more than happy to sort out for us, amazing service and by far the best Thai we have ever had and probably tge best meal we have had in so long we can remember!!!! 11 out of 10 thanks you!!!!

We love the food from Tuk Tuk Newtownards. We use the takaway service regularly. We always call ahead and collect, it's always ready spot on time and delicious. Unfortunately we won't be ordering any more as Tuk Tuk have cancelled order Collections by customers on weekends. They offer a delivery service only now at additional cost and can only give an estimated delivery time which can vary by up to 1hr. We wish you well and will definitely miss the delicious food but due to this change unfortunately you have lost a regular customer. Good luck and best wishes.

We made a last minute decision to get a takeaway tonight. Although we live in Greyabbey our food arrived nice and hot. We had Chicken Satay Skewers for starter and Sweet n Sour Chicken with fried rice and chunky chips to share.All I can say is once again we had a fabulous meal. Popped in on New Years Eve early with children. As always the food was delicious and served up by a warm and welcoming waitress. Starters were Sui Mai Dumplings and Salmon Fish Cakes to share, very fresh with just enough spice, children had chicken strips with noodles that came in a cute doggy dish, staff had a lot of time for them which was welcome and nice to experience. I had King Prawn Pad Thai Noodles and my husband had King Prawn Thai Style Salt & Chilli, both outstanding and portions were very good, you certainly won’t leave hungry. Looking forward to our next visit.

Shabby organisation, pre ordered food for delivery New Years Eve, given time slot between 7pm and 8pm. Food arrived at 9pm and was missing items! Staff very unapologetic and frankly rude! Why commit to a service you obviously can't organise and charge top dollar for it. Maybe its a greed thing!

We has a family love to try and explore lots of restaurants across Northern Ireland and this Little gem or should I say two little gems!!!! Before leaving a review I wanted to try both restaurants in Ards and Bangor, Now I can see why you must book as the attention to detail is simply unreal, from being greeted and seated to exploring the menu, the staff are well trained on the ingredients in every dish and guide you through each one depending on your taste buds, dishes can also be customised depending on your individual needs, the thought and decor that's placed on a plate is more than just presentation, you can actually see the pleasure by the chefs on how everything leaves the kitchen. Places like this don't come around very often and I will never be able to find a other Asian restaurant on the same level as Tuk Tuk to compare with, I also discovered that both owners where on shift in each restaurant every night ensureing that nothing goes out without their approval and for me that touch is just prove of the dedication behind the name of Tuk Tuk, from the moment we came to the minute we left we were looked after and cared for as if we were family, if you haven't had the pleasure of this place yet then I highly recommend for you to try, I have now become a massive fan and look forward to exploring every dish on the menu with many visits planned for 2022, To all the staff thank you for your service and you are Simply the best in Northern Ireland, Well done

Yet another great meal from Tuk Tuk. Best salt n chilli chips in the land and the rest of the food was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend this place.

Tuk Tuk is our families go to place when we are eating out. From the 4 yr old to the 40 yr old. I know most kids given their choice go for a McDonalds but our children love the noddles & chicken strips from Tuk Tuk. Couldn’t recommend it high enough!

Quite simply the best Asian food in the peninsula - fresh vibrant flavours and never fails to disappoint , a magnificent choice of curry’s and sides - if you want quality food of a high standard just book it.

Visited for the first time this evening after toying with the idea on several occasions. The only bad thing about this is we didn’t visit earlier. This blew all Asian/Thai/Chinese restaurants we have ever ate in clean out of the water. Quality of food is second to none. We have a regular Thai we visit in Belfast which is quite pricey and to be honest won’t be going back. This was half the price and twice as nice. As per the other reviews the service is exemplary. Nicer more friendlier people you will not meet. We have been to Thailand before and eating in here brought back so many fond memories from our trip. Food is so fragrant and flavoursome. You have to visit….,,you will not be disappointed. Have already booked our next visit.

Our 7th time here. Great little restaurant. Friendly staff, good atmosphere, nice decor. The food is superb - we are working our way through the menu!! Specials also very good (Taiko stir fry with vegetables and tofu last night).Great to get Vietnamese coffee. Also the coconut ice cream was an eye opener - just the thing if you’ve ordered on the spicy side.Shame to see a few silly reviews on here as it really is a five star in my book!Friendly, delicious, not expensive, BYO - it’s got everything going for it for casual dining!!

Understaffed - we had booked for 7pm and waited for 25 mins in the corridor with little attention from the staff who were trying to get customers from previous sitting out. Main course was served after 9pm - we had drunk most of our booze by then so couldn’t really appreciate the food. While the rest of my table enjoyed the food I was surprised that so much of it was deep fried and very sweet ( rather than aromatic and richly flavoured - my usual experience of Thai food in Thailand and other parts of the world) - I assume it’s catering for the Northern Irish palette. Good luck to them. BUT if they want to remain successful they need to decide to put on more staff or start to loose customers and become a takeaway. Apart from being fully booked I assume the delay in being served and food arriving is also because they are also catering for a huge number of takeaway orders. The current staff are very polite and hard working but are so busy that you have to interrupt them to get served. The local members of my table who love the food will not be returning to dine and will organise takeaway next time - that may be the case for other customers too.

Need to sort out phone system for take away. Having waited 50 mins hanging on the phone !! To be told only colllection time is 8:30 pm. Won’t do this again list my business

Ordered a lovely takeaway tonight, tried the Crispy Shredded Beef for the 1st time, bit of a kick but not too much and the Vietnamese Crispy Glazed Chicken, another beautiful dish with just a bit of a kick to it. Fav restaurant in Newtownards. Come often and had takeaways - never disappointed. Came with family from England on Thursday evening. We got a wee room to ourselves. Nice ambiance with candles. As usual the food was excellent. Service was good. Highly recommend this restaurant. Great it’s a BYO.

Just arrived from Bristol to visit my daughter in Newtownards. She had a great takeaway experience from Tuk Tuk a few weeks earlier, so we decided to try the restaurant. It was busy for a Monday night when we got there which was a good sign. Service was excellent and the food was amazing. We will be back and I will seriously recommend to family and friends.

I’ve had the Salad and chicken skewers for starters .What a fantastic selection of flavours in both meals For main course Pineapple prawns- chicken and rice ,and the duck Salt and Chilli Chips Again fantastic flavours The Staff James and Ethan where very attentive and helpful in our meal selection I would recommend it to any one Top class food and Staff

I arranged for a delivery from TukTuk Asian Bistro Ards for a get-together with ex neighbours. There were 7 of us and we had a mix of chicken and vegetarian dishes including the fabulous Thai Baked Pineapple rice. The Thai Chilli Basil stir-fry has a lovely kick to it, the Thai Sweet n Sour sauce is a favourite with everyone and the Thai Masaman curry with it's coconut milk went down a treat, we all enjoyed the food, not a pick was left over and as some of the party hadn't tried Tuk Tuk before they will definitely be coming back for more. I live in Greyabbey and the food was on time and ready to be plated. Excellent altogether

Our first visit back post-reopening and it was well worth the wait. I had almost forgotten how good the food here is, my Pad Thai was super fresh with a generous portion of chicken as well as a tasty omelette.Service was quick and staff polite, making it a very enjoyable first meal out in 2021!

We like the restaurant and have had reasonable takeaways before but this evening I had (a) a rubbery fish cake starter which was like something you would get frozen from Iceland (b) a Beef Penang curry which was full of chilli flakes within a watery sauce to the extent of making it unenjoyable to eat. Throwing excessive amounts of hot chilli flakes on a dish doesn’t make a good red curry when no other flavours are perceptible. In a restaurant this would have been sent back. Meat was nothing special either.

Ordered our food for collection for 5:15. Was ready a few minutes late but no problem as I much prefer freshly cooked. Staff very attentive while waiting. Food was absolutely delicious, as good as a sit in meal. Curry puffs light and tasty, Panang curry beautiful. Would highly recommend!

I'd pre ordered a meal for 2 for Valentine's wknd. I was half expecting the delivery to be held up due to the bad weather but was pleasantly surprised when the driver pulled up right on the dot 6pm. As per usual the food was delicious, even the chips were still hot.Well done guys ♥️♥️

I ordered a takeaway from this establishment tonight and was number 16 on the queue. An hour and 10 minutes later I finally got through to be told I would have to wait another hour for the food, we waited so long we thought we may aswell. My partner went down to collect the food at 8pm as instructed and he never got this until 8.30, didn’t get sitting down for my meal until 3 hours after the first call was made. I highlighted this to them on private message and gave some constructive criticism, the responses I got were horrific. As a customer who had a bad experience and had to wait so long I couldn’t believe the lack of sympathy and lack of good customer service skills. Whoever is running the Facebook page needs retrained and if it is the manager then shame on you. They kept replying arguing back with me and wanted to get the last word in to the point I had to block them. It feel like tuk tuk think their food is so great and business is good they can speak down to customers and say what they want to say no matter how it makes the customer feel.

Having visited the restaurant several times pre covid I opted to avail of the 'collection' option Tuk Tuk Newtownards offer. I live in Comber so the collection option is preferable for me.However having witnessed what I can only describe as disgusting behavior when collecting my food means I will never again order. My collection was booked for 7pm. I arrived in good time I was told that my order was being cooked so would have to wait- no problem. The food is excellent so they were understandably busy. Whilst I was waiting at the collection point I witnessed some of the staff be spoken to in a manner that I would not even speak to my pet dog! Describing delivery drivers as slow and f-ing liars, complaining about staff to other customers waiting with me in front of the staff in question!! The poor elderly lady in question must have been so embarrassed. What manager treats staff like this? Even worse, he did not even have a mask on either. The food was excellent as always but if this is what goes on behind the scenes it is a massive no from me.

Having heard such good reports I had to try Tuk Tuk Asian Bistro in Bangor - I ordered at 17:15 when told the delivery would be 19:30 as very busy; as I was recovering from an illness I was happy to wait rather than leave the house. I phoned at 20:20 asking where my order was told it would be with me soon... the food arrived at 20:45 but the delivery person apologised for delay - not a good experience!Can’t knock the food which was really good.

Just had the most amazing food delivered from Tuk Tuk, Ards. 4 mains which includedSweet and sour chicken, Chilie basilStir fry, their weekly special and a hot curry. It was all excellent. So fresh, filled with meat and vegetables. Flavours fantastic. All arrived piping hot. Would not hesitate to order again, and again, and again.

I had a takeaway order last night and had to wait 40 mins in a queue on the phone to get through but I just stuck in my headphones and got on with what I was doing until they answered (the automated voice told me 1 hour wait time but it wasn't that long) once they took my order, plus my pre order for next week, the food arrived within around 30 mins. Not a bad wait time overall from somewhere as popular as this on a Saturday night at tea time! Food was amazing as always- garlic chilli beef this week. Next weeks will be Thai green curry which we've had loads of times and its outstanding. Restaurant is amazing too. I was there with a couple of friends recently. They can be a bit haphazard when its busy (long wait for our table, forgot our cutlery, forgot our glasses) but they were so apologetic and offered to compensate us unprompted! We declined as businesses have enough to deal with at the moment. But amazing food and friendly staff make up for any small hiccups .

I know NYE is a very busy time for takeaways and even thought our order was a bit later than planned....boy it was well worth the wait. Even the chips travelled the 7 miles in tact ( still hot and crispy on the outside) Well done everyone.Hoping 2021 is a better year for you all

This is my favourite restaurant! Everytime we go or order in the food is devine. Definitely recommend, once you've been you'll be back again and again. Great for special occasions, just feels extra special in there, love the atmosphere and staff are very friendly.

My first visit and it was fantastic. From the outset and during the whole evening the service was excellent. Veronica was very friendly and had great knowledge of the menu suggesting dishes. The food was beautiful and every mouthful was like food heaven with great flavours, well presented and good amount. Corkage was cheap and whole experience was great. Will be back!

Been here before great. This visit disaster. My prawns had shells on and fried in batter. Staff took so long to bring food out. One member of staff stood talking at a table so long. When our food was eventually brought out all the staff disappeared. Takeaway was getting priority we went in at 7. Got our main course at 2015.they expected us to leave at 9. We didn't have time for a desert.

It was my first venture into TukTuk and I wasn’t disappointed with the food. It was during the down week before the lockdown so it was jam-packed. Nonetheless the quick £10 main course was great value and the food was more authentic than most and plentiful and fresh. The beat of the music was a little off putting but the waitress kindly turned down the dial. Great food and the craic will come back when covid is gone. Will be back for sure.

When ordering - They were disorganised and took many repetitions to get across the order I wished to makeThis included 2 Boiled rice and a fried rice.I repeatedly specified that part of the oredr HAD to be Gluten free as my wife is a Caeliac.So after an hour +, The food arrived. 2 Boiled rice & Garlic Chips. The chicken in the 'GF' menu was in a batter (Warning flag).I rung to confirm that this was Gluten Free and was told several times that the food was Gluten Free and so were the chipsYou can guess what the result was - One poisoned wife.Despite the multiple assurances from the Restaurant that the food was Gluten free my Wife suffered gluten poisoning.Despite not being ordered the Garlic chips were very nice and the food was very tasty despite that fact that it played havoc with the lower intestine

Ordered from Newtownards restaurant, all I can say is with being slightly more expensive, (but very good value) I would happily do without my regular Chinese or Indian takeaway muck each week to have a really tasty, fresh, hot, quality one each fortnight from the Tuk Tuk. Very friendly helpful young man on the phone. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

We have just had an amazing Sweet n Sour chicken meal with fried rice and chunky chips. We ordered from Newtownards restaurant but live in Greyabbey, I have to say, the chunky chips were still hot, crispy on the outside yet fluffy on the inside. Amazing altogether.Thank you TukTuk

I came here for a family meal for the first time. It’s a relatively small restaurant but nicely decorated and comfortable. There was a good selection on the menu. Portion sizes were very good and the food was delicious. Service was really good too. I will definitely return.

I wanted to take the time to write about the exceptional service we received in Tuk Tuk newtownards on Saturday night. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt safe in the current situation. Temperatures checked upon arrival and details noted. I am quite picky with my food and it was no bother at all to the lovely waitress, she made healthy suggestions and advised me to choose the most amazing chicken noodle dish that had an omelette over the top! Unreal!!! She was funny, and put up with four tipsy customers who had not been out in a very long time! Hats off to the team, amazing service, with the perfect staff! Cannot wait to go back. Perfect night out for us as young parents. Thank you

After phoning at 5.00 on the of chance of getting a table, they were able to accommodate the 2 of us at 7.00. Normally you can wait for a couple of weeks for a reservation. On entry they took our temperature and then showed us to our table. They gave us the menu and supplied us with a wine cooler for our wine which we brought. After a short while Kelvin took our order. A short time later our starters came. Tam yam soup and chicken satay on skewers. It looked so delicious I forgot to take a photo of it. The main course came which was duck in honey and Thai chicken Masaman curry. All food excellent in taste and presentation. It must take sometime doing the fancy designs on the veg. You can also get take away service, but they say it would be over an hour. Worth it though. They have opened a place in Bangor

Hi Garth and wonderful team! Just wanted to say thank you for the amazing food last week! We pre ordered a take away for 6 people, 4 of whom had never eaten from Tuk Tuk before! Crazy, I know! They are all converts and every last bite was enjoyed. Especially pleased at all the gluten free options you have and the delivery service is excellent! Just wanted to pass on a bit of gratitude during these not so happy times.

A really nice spot for food. I felt safe being in the busy restaurant. Efficent yet enough contact with staff. Food was fabulous. We had the specials for starters with Pad Thai and Nyonya Curry. It makes my mouth water thinking about them. The only sad thing is that we don't live closer.
