Lovely little teashop. Overall, we liked our tea, but would have liked a bit more filling in the sandwiches or maybe a few more savoury things, and a bit more variety on the cakes as they were nearly all based on a sponge type cake.

Very nice, well run. Excellent standards, good price point. 1st class service. The lady serving in control of the whole operation was exceptional. Not had service like that in this country for a long time in any setting and certainly not since covid ( where service seemed to dissapear overnight)

We had afternoon tea here for our lunch. Everything was freshly made and beautifully presented. We couldn't fault anything. We will make it our regular coffee shop. Definitely a favourite 😁 besides strawberries and ice cream to finish of was definitely a first for us but an excellent addition. Nothing was left. We are very full now.

We came to visit my mother in law who lives in Cwmbran and had an impromptu lunch at Trios. I can not praise this place enough. From the fabulous decor to the friendly, efficient staff (who could not do enough for you) to the great food at such great prices. I had ham salad all freshly made and presented beautifully. We alk cleared our plates. Also the desserts were to die for. If you are in the area please call in you won't be disappointed. I only wish i had somewhere like this near me in Cardiff.

Following a lovely Afternoon Tea here in February, I decided to try the Takeaway Afternoon Tea because I wasn't able to eat at the Restaurant on this occasion. I was not disappointed! There was a lovely selection of sandwiches, pastries (including small pots of cream and jam), and a small pot of fresh strawberries. There was even a teabag. It was all delicious and I wouldn't hesitate to order one again if the occasion arose! Well done Trios.

My elderly, disabled father and I normally come here once a week for a fantastic breakfast but today we came in later in the day to try the deserts. We were not disappointed with the display, size and flavour of our food. I had a Belgian waffle stack with ice-cream, fresh raspberries and a toffee sauce. My father had a banana split with ice-cream and chocolate sauce. We were several options to top our deserts including other fresh fruits, nuts and sauces. The overall service was fantastic, clean, friendly environment with disable access..

My sister and I visited Trios for Afternoon Tea yesterday as a birthday treat for her, and we were very impressed with the food and the lovely staff. The sandwiches, and scones and cakes were all superb and we loved the mini crumbles. We will certainly come back!

My husband and I visited this tea shop as we heard they do Vegan Afternoon Tea. The environment is cosy, the staff were wonderful and left us feeling with a familiar friendly warmth. I purchased afternoon tea for myself, my nan and Grandad today. I have visited Trios in Pontnewydd several times and always have such fantastic experiences! Lovely customer service. We received some delicious sandwiches, cakes and the custard slices were phenomenal and HUGE! Absolutely delicious. My nan and grandad don't have afternoon tea very often but they were so happy and impressed with all of the lovely tasty treats inside. Can't wait until we have Afternoon Tea from here again! Once again, the wonderful staff at Trios created a truly scrumptious Afternoon Tea for my Mum and I. We both have dietary requirements which was no trouble at all. The atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and charming with beautifully set dining areas and 'proper' tea service. The Afternoon Tea is always a treat and we love the way the cakes and savouries change so it's always a new taste experience. Honestly, the cakes are sooo delicious, a great mix of tart and sweet. The bread used for the sandwiches is always fresh and the fillings are varied. The savouries add that extra taste interest. Thank you for providing such a brilliant place to eat and chat in our local area.

This is a quaint tea room. Meals varies and most of them are light and satisfying. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. All cakes are homemade and vary from week to week, usually 3-4 different to choose from each day. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and each visit lasts for 30 - 45 minutes. Always table service. There is a small car park nearby and a bus service (23 stagecoach) every 30 minutes from Pontypool and Cwmbran that stop nearby. Wheelchair accessible and toilets available. I recommend it highly.

a quaint and bespoke little tea house, lovely decor and warm and inviting, Lesley and are staff are lovely and the music in the background only adds to the lovely feeling of old tyme memories when life was good and people were less self orientated, i had a lovely toasted cheese and pickle sandwich witch was packed with yummy filing and a small fresh side salad . It was all lovely and it was a pleasure to eat and relax in such a welcoming place. Thank you to Lesley and staff for making me feel so special, i will be back for sure. Love Paula.

Very friendly and helpful service in this old-fashioned tea room, drinks are served in delightful painted china. A constantly changing choice of cakes is available, with ice cream that is made on the premises. Summer fruit gateau is a real treat! Orchid Gold is a nice variety of tea that can be enjoyed without milk or sugar. A small garden is available with seating for a nice day, or stay inside and listen wonderful oldies music playing on CD. Always worth a visit!

We live fairly local so myself and my partner decided to pop in before work. Service was excellent and the selection was very good. We only had hot drinks and a toastie but I can honestly say it was the best toastie I have ever had! Price was very reasonable. Will definitely go again and recommend.

My Aunty, myself and my mum came here for afternoon tea for my auntys birthday. After looking at the reviews we knew it would be excellent but it was exceptional. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive and made us feel very welcome. The afternoon tea was remarkable and sitting in the garden with tea and scones made a perfect afternoon. Was looking for a midweek place to go for a bit of lunch with my friend in the cwmbran area but couldn’t think of many places! She suggested this place and I had heard it has a lovely reputation! It did not disappoint the menu was surprisingly huge for a small tea room! Lots available and all at really decent prices! We both had an omelette with a piece of bread and it was delicious and reminds me of the kind of food my nan,who was a fabulous cook,would make when I was a child! We also had a glass bottle of Coca Cola each which always feels like a bit of a treat! We then had a home made chocolate fudge cake which was absolutely delicious! The owner was really sweet and checked that we were happy! We spent lots of time chatting and although it was busy they didn’t try to make us hurry up! We did get a little bit excited when we realised they can serve alcohol and although we couldn’t have a drink today we will definitely make plans to return! We were also given a pamphlet about events they can do so I will definitely use them for an event when one comes up!

Visit once a week with my son who is autistic. Soon as they see him they greet him and make sure his favourite food is cooking straight away, best service ever!! Wonderful staff. Love love love this place ❤️

A fantastic afternoon tea consisting of a variety of sandwiches and other savoury nibbles along with a fabulous array of mini cakes. And if that wasnt enough freshly baked scone with jam and cream and the lightest of lemon desserts. It truely was a wonderful treat for my mum and myself. We were also treated to bottomless tea and coffee and a glass of prosseco. Each table also received a bottle of babycham and some chocolates. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Thank you everyone for a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

So we decided to treat our six year old to an unorthadox birthday party this year, with her choosing an afternoon tea for her and a dozen friends. This was arranged via Leslie well in advance and did not disappoint.

Having visited here for lunches and a few afternoon teas I decided to book this for a friend’s birthday present and wasn’t disappointed. Food was fresh as usual and lovely variety of food and glass of prosecco too. Staff friendly and helpful as usual. Highly recommended and will be going back again soon. Worth a visit even for a cuppa and cake (which are gorgeous too).

We have just held my husband's 70th birthday tea at Trios. We knew the quality would be excellent, it always is, but added to this Lesley and her team created such a warm atmosphere. The service is efficient and personable with every little detail icovered to ensure a lovely experience. We had a superb buffet tea with generous and varied savouries and exquisite cakes. My husband's Custard Slice birthday won the show.Trios is a real asset to Pontnewydd village, it is so good that the occasional evening special events are on offer and get booked up really quickly - well done!

My husband and I visited last Saturday for a light lunch - it was his first visit and only my second and we simply could not fault this place. The food was cooked freshly for us (no reheating or here’s one I made earlier). Our special request for a side dish was met with a smile and an “of course”. To accompany the food my husband thoroughly enjoyed his pot of loose leaf tea and I had my decaf coffee. Both were so good that we asked what and where they were from and promptly went away to purchase them to enjoy at home. This may have only be a first or second time for us but it definitely won’t be our last. Absolutely fantastic

We paid a visit to Trio’s on the off chance when my wife and I fancied a little bit to eat and a coffee and fancied trying somewhere new. Due to the positive tripadvisor reviews we thought we’d give it a bash.

Rung to enquire about price and what was included, very polite young man explained things promptly. When booking Wendy (I think it was) was lovely. On the day we arrived and the table was set out ready and looked very nice. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. A beautiful seating area. And the food was lovely. We were of a mixed age of 30-82. And we were all very satisfied with the food and could not have eaten anymore. Highly recommend to anyone.

Trio's provided afternoon tea for our aunt's 90th birthday party. It was exceptionally good. Sandwiches were appetising and fresh, with generous fillings and a great choice. Really delicious! And we were in cake heaven! All were homemade, beautifully presented and scrumptious. There was a huge choice including The best Bakewell tarts, fresh raspberry millefeuilles, macaroons, fresh cream scones, lemon cream filled Swiss rolls, butterfly cakes, coffee and walnut cake and light as a feather Jaffa cakes I have ever tasted, and I have been a home baker for 40 years! I don't think Mary Berry herself coulddo better. Not to mention the pretty china cups, saucers and tea plates, which added to the traditional feel. We really couldn't have asked for better. Highly, highly recommended!

Trios is a lovely café to visit and have lunch. We visited on a Wednesday and had very good sandwiches and tea (served in matching 'heritage' china). The waitress was very helpful and came back to check whether we wanted brown or white bread. The price was very reasonable for freshly made sandwiches and real tea in teapots with 'strainers'.

Gorgeous light room, friendly service. Delicious cake. Very reasonably priced. Another table had a fabulous looking afternoon tea.

Visited here today with my 2 year old Grandson. We sat in the garden and we're served quickly by very attentive staff. Lovely food followed by delicious desserts! Little Alfie especially enjoyed one of the waitresses taking the time to play with him! Such a welcoming stress free place to eat. Keep it up Lesley coz we'll keep coming back !

On 19 May, four of us had the great pleasure of afternoon tea at Trios. What a delight! Everything about Trios was excellent; friendly helpful staff, beautiful decor, and food to die for. The atmosphere was surpurb and for us the choice of music playing gently in the back ground was excellent. Nice choice of menu with something to please everyone. I took my mother for dinner after she had been unwell for a few weeks. It was an absolute tonic for her and me. They treated her like an old friend and to me it was like visiting your favourite auntie, you always get a warm welcome, a piece of cake and a cup of tea. I was really pleased to see that they can now offer a glass of wine with the meal and are now offering some great value meal nights, There's one coming on the 8th of March and I hope there'll be more coming soon.

This great little tea shop demonstrates the very best of a fine tradition. The staff are lovely, friendly and very happy to help and the fine bone China tea service captures the imagination. My daughter had a lemon squash and cake and the whole event added up to a great experience. This is exactly the sort of shop we miss on the high street these days, a credit to Cwmbran!

My wife and I have had several afternoon teas over the past 12 months or so but we can safely say that this was the best by far. A selection of freshly cut sandwiches followed by an exceptional selection of cakes,pastries and mini trifles. This was all accompanied by fresh coffee and a glorious cup of tea made with tea leaves and strained into bone China cups. This was then followed up with four warm scones with jam and cream. The atmosphere was lovely with the radio playing as back ground music and the tea room itself was spotless. Hats off to all the staff. Will definitely return again.

Trio's is local within walking distance although there is plenty of on the street parking and a car park in the village. Various types of shops, post office, etc nearby. Staff welcomed us and very pleasant and efficient. Lloyd was our waiter, a pleasant young man. Nice gentile ambience and good choice of teas and coffees. Lovely cakes, light meals, snacks, etc. Saw advert for occasional Sunday Roast. Small enough to feel intimate and large enough for much bigger groups. Throughly enjoyed the pot of tea and crumpets, my friend having decaf coffee and toasted tea cake. All clean and maintained well.

The staff are friendly,the cafe is clean and tidy,its a pleasant room and we enjoy our hot drinks and cake.

With all the commercial 'chain' coffee shops about nowadays how refreshing to find a spotlessly clean and beautifully equipped café serving delicious homemade cakes, sandwiches, snacks and more!The coffee we had was piping hot, the cakes absolutely fresh and scrumptious and all served by happy,enthusiastic staff. It was also very realistically/competitively priced.I will definitely be making many more visits to Trio's.
