Never again. Went for dinner and had carbonara which was made with cream and bacon and the caprese salad was with frozen soggy tasteless tomatoes and no pesto . So basically supermarket ready meal quality. On top of that felt sick later same night and the person with me who had pizza felt fun in the morning. So … no good at all!!!

Well, my new favourite restaurant in Derby! An absolutely incredible place - the most spacious and light dining area and exquisite food. The service was prompt and polite - the whole place is very clean. Genuinely my new favourite restaurant in Derby UPDATE: Still the finest Italian in Derby! Updates to the venue make it even more welcoming and the staff are so welcoming. Always a joy being here

My wife and I visited early saturday evening and im pleased we did because it seemed to be picking up just as we left . Dont be put off by the front entrance looking like a takeaway as it opens up into a sizeable room which was bright and spacious (im lead to believe that its soon to be revamped). The service was great from the lovely gal who was working that night . We had olives and creamy garlic mushrooms for starters and a bolognese pizza for main .Washed down with a large peroni and a bottle chardonnay. Cannot fault anything,the pizza in particular was tasty and we would return as soon as it reopens .Cheers

Hidden treasure in Derby. Perfect Neapolitan pizza!

We have recently returned from Naples and can honestly say that the pizza here is on par if not better than we ate in Naples.

Had a couple of quite decent pizzas here. Ate in, the dining area could use a little creative tlc. This could easily be done without spending a lot of money making it a much more attractive place to take your girlfriend or wife.

Nice Italian restaurant. Food is authentic Italian which is hard to find in Derby. I had both pizza and pasta which were delicious. My waiter was really inviting and a nice person. Would defo come back.

5 if us there for dinner. Didn't have any starters so can't comment on that but did have 4 pizzas and 1 calzone. They were all superb, good amount of topping, lovely fresh base and generous size ( I did eat all of mine but the last piece was a stretch!). My only slight criticism is that they don't do coffee and I really wanted to try their tiramisu but it needs a coffee with it! But that's a real small issue. Will go back to try their pasta dishes soon. Good service and well worth a visit

Honestly the best Italian we have ever been to beautifully cooked everything was spot on. A true Italian restaurant at last! The table service was fantastic. I can't stress enough how perfectly everything was made. Pasta cooked to perfection. Mouthwatering chicken, fantastic pizza dough cooked beautifully. Just demolished some garlic pizza with cheese and a bolognese pizza. Oh my god ❤️ I've been to Italy recently and this was no comparison. Everything was perfect. The icing on the cake was the staff, very friendly. If you're around the area, then this is a must. You won't regret it. Definitely returning ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ the two lads I was with also enjoyed their food, it was a big win all around 🏆

First time ordering pizza from here - we ordered the calabrese pizza - and it was delicious. Authentic ingredients and great wood fired crust. Good value for money too. Definitely recommended 👍🏻

We ate at Trattoria Lalis last night, there was one lady serving table's & she was clearly a bit overwhelmed & rushing around, she was working her socks off A jug of Water was bought which is a nice touch, our starters of calamari & garlic bread were good, but my carbonara was so salty I could only manage a few mouthfull's, my daughter's pizza was delicious, but burnt & the male who bought my husband's penne bolognaise said it was Arrabiata & wasn't sure if it was bolognaise, no one came to ask how our meals were It felt a bit like a canteen, was bright, bit scruffy & very little atmosphere, maybe we caught them on a bad day, but it wasn't for us, sadly

My Fiancé and myself came here for the first time this week, had a pepperoni pizza each, it was incredible, my fiancè has not long come back from Rome and said it tasted like the ones he had there which those who have been to Italy know the pizza is insane! It was that nice we came back 3 days later for another one, 100% recommend! There are also tables for anyone who wants to eat in, staff are super welcoming

Amazing food, service and atmosphere!! We had the bruschetta and olives for starters (don’t miss the bruschetta) and meat feast and bolognese pizza as main! All of them were superb and great quality!! Sadly no pics as we got into them immediately. Highly recommended!!

If I can give this place more than 5stars I would do so with happiness. I feel so lucky to enjoy my Friday evening there with a dear friend. The restaurant atmosphere was very charming and cozy. The staff were very friendly and very professional, our food has been served very fast, the pizza was a yummmm one of the best in Derby! The starters ooh I cannot recommend enough, and the desserts were just heaven I cannot recommend it enough. I loved this restaurant and I would go back there for sure

The food is exceptional, both the pizza and pasta. Unfortunately the price of the food seems to have almost doubled since it opened which is disappointing.

We’ve been to this restaurant 3 times now and every time the food has been delicious and the service excellent. Irving is a friendly and efficient host, always welcoming and happy. The atmosphere is always pleasant. I had a lovely surprise when I visited for my birthday and was surprised with a complimentary Tiramisu with a candle in, such a special touch and super tasty. I can’t recommend this place enough.

The best pizza I have had in Derby. The menu is short and pizza is clearly the highlight, but what a highlight. Beautiful airy crust with just the right level of topping brought back memories of Naples. A side of oregano chips was a great accompaniment. No salad, though you could order one, and just a couple of desert options. Fantastic, friendly service without getting in the way. Highly recommended

Used to be the best pizza outside Italy when it was Sourdough by Gianni and it's previous incarnation before the pandemic but they've changed the dough and they don't use the great Italian meats as before so now it's really not that different to local pizza places. It's better than them but only a little. I'm actually gutted that we've lost an awesome pizza place, I spent a lot of money there

We had the most amazing food - the garlic bread was insane and the pasta was so fresh and tasty! Adeal was friendly and knew the menu well and Sahil was a fantastic cook. Couldn’t fault the food or service and the value for money xx thank you x

Fantastic authentic neopolitian pizza and lovely independent restaurant. We're big fans of this pizza style, so it has to be good and with a proper oven Trattoria Lalis hits the spot. Our server Ervin was really friendly without being overbearing and made sure we enjoyed our meal. And some beautiful homemade tiramisu was a brilliant end to the meal.

Came to this Italian place yesterday to try and have to say the food was delicious and great prices. The one big highlight is the customer service by the whole team was just another great experience. All well managed by a group of experienced and professional waiters and the owner fully on board and supporting the front desk. Food arrived in minutes! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My partner and I went to try out the pizza in this restaurant as recommended by a friend. And wow, we were amazed by just how delicious the pizzas were. Both mine and my partners pizzas were equally as delicious, great flavours, fresh ingredients and the pizza chef was so welcoming. Will definitely be coming here again!

The chef was not the usual one, I ordered 5 pizzas and by the time the 5th one was done the 1st pizza was already cold as this chef was cooking them 1 by 1. The pizzas were cold, hard to cut, salty and not fully cooked. Usually the quality is much better with the other chef. NO CHEF NO PARTY

Disappointing pizza, the base was decent but the tomato & cheese was bland & only pepperoni (no salami) & no fresh basil. Friendly service though & nice clean venue.

Visited for the first time today, pizza was genuinely maybe the best I've ever tasted. Fresh ingredients, tasted amazing and very reasonably priced. Service was very friendly too. Will definitely be going back.

Let me say first of all - the pizzas are great! Tasty authentic bases! Sadly the overall experience lets this place down. The waiter was very kind and friendly, but a little lost. Our bottle of white wine arrived unopened and we had to ask for a cork screw. Then we had to ask for a cooler and thankfully, after being told they had none, they found one! The only interesting wine on the menu was Greek (!) so I’d love to see a few more Italian wines on the menu. Not just a Pinot! The dining room is bare and feels cold. Not cosy at all. Needs some soft furnishings. Tye pasta was stodgy, far too rich, and the carbonara is made with cream, so not carbonara sadly. Garlic bread equally good as made with the excellent pizza base. So sadly for us it’ll be takeaway pizza from here next time as it’s just not a cosy place and has no atmosphere!

All the food we had here was really scrummy and they were happy to adapt menu items to suit our tastes. Service friendly and efficient However the vibe is really school cafeteria and the toilets although clean smelled like raw sewage

This place has opened under a new name, but I'm so happy to say it is just as incredible as before. Same fresh ingredients, same mouth-watering pizza, same prices, same chef (thank god!) and new owners are lovely. This is THE best Pizza in Derby without question.

To say this restaurant was straight out of a romantic movie would be a relative understatement. When u walk around and smell pizza or hear the word pasta my mind dashes to my time spent in the Lalis as the experience has changed me. When someone says where should we eat there is only one response. The trattoria. The dining room was large and atmospheric. The walls echoes the mountain ranges of the Italian homeland. I will be returning. Not once, not twice, not thrice, maybe 4 times. The staff are like family and the food is like my mothers cooking. I love you trattoria. Xxxxxxx

We had a lovely group meal before our gig… The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming - we ordered a mixture of pizza and pasta. It did not disappoint. Every belly was full and satisfied :) will definitely be paying another visit to this fine establishment

Visited last night before going to a show in Derby. Pizzas are superb. I had a Caprese and my wife tried the Chicken Caesar salad which was great. Service was great and couldn't do enough. We left definitely to return and pass on this place to friends and family. Great prices and food. Don't hesitate to visit if you fancy some great honest Italian food. I know it isn’t difficult but it’s the best pizza in derby by a long shot. Just a really nice place to come to casual or dressed up if you want no nonsense simply bowls of pasta and other anti pasti. Very well executed and I hope it last as Derby needs good Pizza and Italian food

Randomly drove past this place on my way home and thought I'd give into my instincts. I went in for 2x Margherita Pizzas once... Have been a repeat customer ever since, same order, every time! So if the Pizza is that good.. imagine everything else on the menu.. The staff are always welcoming, very respectful and polite and the pizza chef knows how to make a proper Italian pizza! Would definitely recommend, worth your money!

I brought 3 pizzas and was very very orrible! The pizza not was cooked properly and the ingredients on the top was very very very cheap quality. I never tried before the bad Italian pizza same this... Finally the prices for this pizzas was very expensive! Never go again....super negative experience

Our first experience with lalis was absolutely terrible ! Never again .... I had high expectations with the price of one pizza and one pasta dish costing £40 , the food took over an hour to arrive and no surprise turned up stone cold , the pizza was not sliced and two toppings were missing , the carbonara was utterly tasteless with undercooked pasta and one of the worst quality of meats used on both - we rang in to complain to be told its the delivery drivers fault that toppings were missing and the late arrival , no offer of our money returned or the food replaced , in all fairness I'd not want it replaced it was that bad , highly recommended to not order from this place , an absolute scam ! Extremely disappointed with the service.

Lovely Italian with amazing food and service...

For some authentic neapolitan sourdough pizzas Lalis is the place to be. We decided to dine-in and while waiting to be seated we saw the chef dishing out pizza after pizza by the minute for dine-in and delivery from the wood fire oven. Once seated in an Italian flag theme setup, we chose the Margherita and Pizza Di Pollo from the menu. There are several options for vegetarians and pasta lovers as well. The pizza is ready and served hot to the table. The cheesiness of the mozzarella fior di latte complete with the sauce and thin crust makes every bite a delicious one. With roast chicken, mushrooms, sweetcorn, green peppers, the Pizza Di Pollo would be a favourite to anyone who loves toppings on a thin crust pizza. (I personally would have preferred the chicken to have some spice to it).

Recently, I had the pleasure of trying the best pizza I've ever tasted at this place. The staff was incredibly friendly, and Marouane truly showed great skill in making pizzas.

Perfect pizza (hot, thin crust and oozy cheese) that was personalised with no problems, the daughter's pasta was equally good - very meaty sauce on the penne. Best part? The staff. Really welcoming, made sure that we enjoyed our meal. Really nice place to eat.
