Great take away, ordered to collect ready on time and very tasty! I Recommend to anyone wanting a delicious Chinese ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

4 x small Spring Rolls at £5.50 and a very bland Chicken Fried Rice (almost all rice) at £6.20. Very poor value for money. Look elsewhere.

My family and I have used Town House Dragon for years and have always been happy with the food. Today we ordered the same food that we always order, due to dietary allergies. When we got home our order was wrong. We telephoned immediately and the woman we spoke to insisted that we had been given the correct order. She totally refused to accept that she had made an error…. We have ordered the same food on at least 20 occasions. So not only did we have to pay for a meal that we cannot eat, we didn’t get an apology and got blamed for her error. This was a birthday meal which was ruined. She offered to let us reorder the correct food but couldn’t change what we had already been given. So we were expected to pay again for her mistake. We live several miles out of town and were not inclined to drive back and pay for another meal. People make mistakes. That’s a fact of life. But to argue with us because we were given something we didn’t order and not even have the decency or courtesy to apologise is pretty poor. It’s a real shame that her poor attitude and customer service mean we will now go elsewhere in future. It wasn’t the fact that she made a mistake, it was how we were treated.

Delicious food, quickly prepared We had the crispy chicken with chilli and garlic, duck rolls, sweet and sour chicken balls and the special fried rice. All dishes were tasty and we would definitely repurchase. It is cash only- their Facebook page says cash accepted instead - which to me implied both cash and card were available. There is a cash point in the local One Stop so not a huge issue though.

King prawn curry was runny and tasteless. Woman serving desperately in need of a lesson in manners. Sorry, but I won’t be returning.

Food was ok could of been a little warmer a little expensive and far to much onion in both our dishes will not be rushing back!

Screen with tinny sounding speaker made communication difficult. Food ready for collection on time. Very disappointing quality for the prices. Spare ribs tough and inedible. Sweet sour chicken likewise. Too much fat on duck in plum sauce. All pretty poor to average. Not good value. Much ended up in recycling bin. Not to be repeated

The food here is OK at best and nothing to get excited about. Their cash only policy is a massive irritant (why cash only in this day and age for goodness sake...well, I think I know). The girl who regularly serves at the counter needs some lessons in basic politeness having never said please or thank you to me when I’m handing over a fistful of cash for a mediocre meal. Not recommended.

Absolute rubbish. The prawns tasted like they had just come out of a muddy river and they had tried to disguise the taste with a horrible thick curry sauce. I will not be going back.

This Chinese take away is absolutely brilliant.All the food is lovely,reasonably priced and the sweet & sour chicken balls are to die for!!!10/10.

Food is ok but not outstanding. Prices has gone up since it changed hands. There are better takeaways in the area if you don’t mind travelling.

we have used this take away for 18 years it has had its ups and downs but on the 6/4/19 we had the worst meal we have ever had it all ended up in the bin

New owners very pleasant lady taking the orders food arrived quickly only down side rice used to come automatically with a curry now you have to order it separately realized before I got home so went back and ordered some could catch a few people out!

Been coming here for many years. Never had a bad takeaway. Similar price to any other Chinese takeaway. They offer Asian variants to the menu also which are superb.

There prices are slightly higher than else where but most of the dishes have more veg or different things in it and feels more like proper Chinese cooking instead of a takeaway meal. If your just going to get chips or chicken balls then your not going to see the difference to anywhere else but the even better than elsewhere so why go anywhere else. Staff always pleasant and nice too

This chinese takeaway provides well cooked food in ample quantities with a wide selecrion of dishes. The service is fast and efficient and can be preordered by telephone.

I'm surprised to read some of these reviews considering the dreadful Chinese food that's available in the locality of North Dorset. I've had many awful Chinese meals from most of the other establishments around but time and time again this place is easily the best. The quality of the food is always very good, cooked nicely and worth the money. I've never been disappointed and wouldn't go anywhere else. Its a fine takeaway outlet and the owners are very friendly too.

Birthday treat had several takeaways with friends etc always nice sometimes you want better than nice waiting to be wowed!

My family always use this takeaway for a Chinese. We think it's the best Chinese in the area. We love the duck in plum sauce, shredded chilli beef, sweet and sour Cantonese style and chicken chow mein. The service is always good.

What a great place. With my food intolerances they accommodated me so well and we as a family can enjoy a family Chinese nothing is to much trouble

No reconocer esto para llevar a algunos de los comentarios. La comida no es tan buena y es bastante mezquino, en términos de los ingredientes. Mi curry sólo había un puñado de langostinos y nada más excepto por masas de cebollas. Estaba bastante comestible. Esta es la segunda vez que me he comido y no revisar la primera vez, pero la comida no era mucho mejor que antes, así que creo que este es un promedio, comida para llevar, en el mejor de emergencia.

The portion size of their food is small,their prices are high and their beef fried rice only has tiny bits of beef in it,almost like mince,mainly just rice and for £5 it's a rip off!. Rubbish!! Avoid this take away they rip you off as there is no competition. If you want a really good Chinese takeaway try Chans in Gillingham or China China in Blandford.

The Town House Dragon (THD) is the only Chinese in Sturminster Newton. There used to be a second but it shut a few years ago. We have used the THD since we moved to Stur in 2008. Front of house is very friendly and efficient. Even when busy, they will answer the phone but ask you to hold for 1 min. It is worth noting that they don't take cards so make sure you have cash.During the week, your food is normally ready within 15 mins of ringing. At peak times (Fri & Sat night), that can stretch to maybe 30-45 mins.THD has an extensive menu with a few unusual items such as cod & squid dishes as well as a few Malaysian ( Rendang, Sambal & Kurma) specialities. They are happy to remove items and normally get it right (my wife does not like peas in fried rice for example).How good is the actual food? To be honest, I have had better but equally have had far worse. What I can happy state is that I have not had a dish that was not tasty and edible in the 8 years we have been using the THD. Nothing to blow your mind (or taste buds) but more than acceptable.If I was allowed to give 1/2 stars, I would rate THD at 3 1/2.

Nothing to say apart from never had a bad meal from here after years of use, we always try to get a couple or so a month in. The families favourite, well done!

18 of us were staying locally for a family birthday and decided to order a take away for Saturday night. It was a very large order and I'm afraid it slowed up service on the busy Saturday night - we had to wait about 30 minutes longer than expected but the meal was excellent. Despite a 20 minute drive the food was all hot and like home cooked food - and very tasty - I especially enjoyed the curry. Also the two daughters were a delight and kept us amused while waiting. Its not the cheapest takeaway but definitely good standard of food. Well done Town House Dragon and thank you for coping with our large order!

This is a lovely family run Chinese takeaway with great food, probably not that cheap but worth the cash.....love to see the 2 daughters involved and they have such beautiful manners and smiles.

This is the best Chinese you can get in North Dorset. Simple. Compared to places in London or even Bournemouth it is nothing special. However, it is the best locally available. If you are about and fancy Chinese I would recommend.

Been away from home for weeks, and wanted to surprise my other half with a take-away. Haven't used this one for years, and it was the best Chinese food we have had outside London. As good as home-cooked, not sweet and sticky. Fresh ingredients, very helpful staff and a good range of dishes to suit any palate. Allergies catered for, as are special requests. We will be regular customers from now on. We tried a wide range of dishes, and all were cooked to perfection. I can highly recommend the salt and pepper squid with garlic.

There are several Chinese takeaways in the area, but Town House Dragon is the one we always go to now. The food is great as is the service. The prices are a little higher than at other establishments but the food is worth the extra. Be aware that they only accept cash - no cards.

Went here based on recommendation. Your choices are limited in stur. So it's difficult to compare. Would say China China in blandford is far better. The crispy duck was small in portion and was already de boned. The curry was average. This is my own opinion it's nothing special. But is convenient.

Having had several takeaway meals from this establishment recently, I am looking forward to more. The food, and in particular Malaysian food is delicious. Not the cheapest, but we'll worth a little extra.

I have been going to the town house dragon since i was little. Will always be my favourite. It is a little pricey but it is 100% worth it. Friendly too.

We go here all the time. My dad loves his Chinese take away and insists we have one whenever we visit. The food is excellent, all the people are lovely. Special thanks, though, the young girl who takes the orders. Highly highly recommended.I'm also an extremely fussy cooka a /diner and very rarely give 5 star,unless thoroughly well deserved. Always brilliant. We are fairly well-travelled and this is a real eye-opener. We have bought many takeaways and always search out the better ones and this is really good quality and stands up to the best.

As per most Chinese, everything is cooked to order. Complimentary Prawn crackers with your order.It is worth bearing in mind that this take-away is the only Chinese Restaurant in Stur and it is worth ordering by phone at busy times.The food ordered was well cooked and seasoned and an extensive menu was available

Excellent takeaway, a comprehensive menu, staff are always polite. I've used this takeaway on and off over the last 6 years and have never been disappointed.

Always great food and great choice with extensive menus updated regularly. A little on the pricey side perhaps but definately worth the spend (maybe a little harsh there as probably not much more expensive than other chinese takeaways). Food is always well cooked and very tasty and you are always welcome in a pleasant manner, they re quick and efficient and you never have to wait too long for your order even when they are veyr busy which they often are... a good sign I would say!Only downside is that they only accept cash (no card or cheques) but with cash machines just over the road its not really a major issue.

Always go here for our Chinese take a way's. Have tried others in the area, but none as flavourful as this one. Always tasty and loads of it - often have it for another meal the following day. Reasonable prices. Shredded chilli beef and the pork spare ribs are excellent. The only problem is that they don't accept credit cards.

Chinese and Malaysian dishes very good - best Singapore noodles I have had outside of Singapore! - very friendly staff.
