Great fish and chips, really good value for money and super friendly people, what more could you want from a local chip shop

Ordered an order on Deliveroo after the owner told us to use Deliveroo and had an item missing meaning one chips was missing, told on the phone they couldn’t rectify this and we would have to apply for a refund even though it was their error. The owner then proceeded to question the order annd question if the delivery driver nicked the chips and why we ordered the amount we ordered for the amount of people to which I replied none of his business how many people I ordered food for. The owner hung up on me and then said he can’t do anything about it not even an apology. Terrible rude and condescending behavior. Refused a full refund. Never again. Cowboy.

had the cod. wish I hadn't. I think it had been sat under a lamp for a while. batter was hard and chips were OK, ordered the large for 2 if us to share. seemed a bit on the small side. no decent chip shops here anymore since phillips closed down. won't bother anymore. why don't shops do food to order rather than cooking and leaving under a heat lamp. People would rather wait 10mins more for food cooked there and then rather than some mediocre / poor food that was cooked an hour prior.

the food from this chippy is the best in Swindon also very reasonable prices the guy who owns it is a really nice guy I would recommend this place 👌

Visited top fry for the first time today! Very impressed, cooked fresh, beautiful thick pieces of cod, chips crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. Just found my new favourite fish and chip shop.

Great fish and chips, amongst the best ever, freshly cooked, cooked properly not wet, over cooked like some places we have been too, seems to be using top quality produce. The owner was very pleasant too! We will definitely return!

Chips were fresh an tasty, sausage tasty , curry sauce was off the ed and the gravy is the best I’ve had in Swindon , not had gravy like that since I was livin up north

Missing drinks but not a problem. Lovely food as always.

Big bits of chicken and plenty of salad, I put a bit of mashed potatoe with it which made a nice meal

kebab meat was really good quality and huge amount of it and huge amount of chips for the price, the fish was the only let's down for a large it was a reasonable size but as it was so thick it seemed the middle didn't get cooked enough and thus was mushy and don't particularly pleasant. Still would try from here again without a doubt based on the portion size and quality of the food.

The food was awful, chips tasted like cardboard. Never had a bad order before but today's order was disgusting.

First time there. I ordered 8 senior meals, they were cooked fresh. While waiting the manager was very chatty. Got meals home, they were hot & tasty, everyone enjoyed the food. We will be making a regular thing. 5 🌟

Best chippy in Swindon, the fish is huge! Our daughter who lives in Cardiff said it was the best fish she has ever had! Very friendly staff and supports the local community well.

Chips were awful, and my chicken was very dry because it had been over cooked. Sorry but I cant say it was nice when I really did not enjoy.

Catered well for 8 adults orders. As you can imagine we all chose different things and amazingly it was all ready at the same time. Very welcoming and a warming atmosphere. Prices are great and affordable. Would definitley eat from here again. 😌

When the driver left top fry it toke them 15 mins to Deliver our food,when I ask the driver why he said he had to make other delivery put I'm only a few minutes from top fry+it would have made more sense to driver to me first,the driver was very rude.The food was great as always the best doners in swindon chips are good to

The chicken curry was delicious. The chips were some of the best I've had. The kebab was really nice and all the portions were very generous. I seriously recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back.

Delivery person was great, however I was told that it was left on the side before being delivered. We pre ordered for 6pm, it turned up at 6:45 a smidge cold....

Wasn't happy with our chips tonight as really hard

I had the worst chicken kebab ever the chicken was so dry and hard it was inedible the pita bread had gone dry and had to be snapped to separate it. My grand daughter couldn’t eat her nuggets also dry and overcooked.

I thought I'd give you a go, and yes it's ok, but where is the 🍅 and the bread😔

Chips were nice and hot. Kebab was probably the worst I’ve ever had, 2 mouthfuls and I was done. Wouldn’t recommend.

Shocked at how bad this order was! Missing the chips. Pie was stone cold. Majority of the food was cold - sausage, doner meat, peas. Spent £30 on a takeaway and couldn't eat hardly anything. I'm still hungry. The doner meat didn't seem good quality either (tiniest bit I tried). So disappointed. Went from my favourite takeaway to the worst!!

Run out of one of my order but the restaurant phoned me and asked what I would like instead excellent service. The food was piping hot and excellent flavour definitely recommend and will order again

Originally ordered 19:20 with a delivery time of 20:10 latest but the time changed at 20:45 come delivery time. The app said left the restaurant but when it did arrive 25 mins later the driver sat on his phone for another 10 mins in his car talking to someone. The portion size for a large was basically a small and the quality of the food was far from acceptable not helped by the added lateness of the driver making the food warm at best and soggy.

A rare misfire! Delivery was woeful - felt like it would have been quicker for me to walk there and back to collect it! Chips ended up being a bit chewy as a result!

Wow what can I say this has got to be the best fish and chips I’ve had for many years great fish batter cooked to perfection and the massive amount of chips were brilliant. Can’t fault anything definitely ordering from here again.

I know I ordered a small fish but it was the size of a mars bar! Very disappointing

Never ordered from Top Fry before but it was the tastiest chippy I’ve had in years. Arrived hot and packaged very well. I paid £3 for a small fish and it was packed full of fish and not just all batter. Had a bit of the kids savloys and they taste amazing too! Curry sauce a little too thick for my liking and I love a thick curry sauce! but honestly tasted great. 9.5/10

Simply food . Very nice. Usually I am disappointed when I ordrr simply food but this was the best in a long time. Can't complain at all. Kids meal is very nice as well.
