Place is a bit in the middle of nowhere, but the food and drinks are incredible, and the owner very hospitable. The (vegetarian) tom kha kai soup was so very rich with lots of depth of flavour, and the lemongrass tea was a delight to share. Highly recommend. They only take cash, so do make sure to have some pounds on hand! Otherwise there's an ATM 2min of a walk towards a coop supermarket.

Good but not great, i had a pad thai and it wasn't amazing.

It's authentic and very intimate. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. That was my first time at Tong Kanom after so many recommendations over a year and I will go again and again.

Have been to so many Thai restaurants in Cardiff, Manchester, Oxford and London and this is one of the best Thai restaurants I haved dined in. The food is authentic and the staff are very polite and helpful. The food price is great . I liked the food so much that I dined there on two consecutive nights. Would go back on the next trip to London.

I ordered delivery of spicy fish salad. Delicious but not healthy as fish was deep fried.

drunken noodles were very delicious and the right amount of spice. panang curry was so rich and flavourful. the portions were large so i thought i wouldn’t finish my meal but my food was so good i had to finish it all.

One of my favourite Thai restaurants in West London. Whilst I normally order takeaway occasionally, my orders would still be hot, fresh, more than sufficiently spicy, well seasoned and flavourful each time. Recently I asked to stir fry additional tofu (which I feel is worth the additional small cost) on top into my Pad Krapow with chicken and that was a nice, fitting combination since the vegetables are already plentiful and tasty. I'm looking forward to trying more of their dishes as I tend to go for their Pad Kee Mao and Pad Kee Sew most of the time.

I ordered from here because all of the reviews were really good, having tried it myself I don't understand why all of the reviews are so good. I order prawn coconut soup and it was bland and seoerated after I left in thr fridge ands the special fried rice was soggy and the chicken had no seasoning or flavour at all.

Visited this restaurant for the first time recently. The food was decent however the host wasn’t as polite as we had hoped. Asking for ONLY CASH upon payment seemed very odd - especially in this day and age.

If you are strong with spicy, add chilly powder. Perfect.

I’m a local. I’ve seen many good reviews, and Tong Kanom Thai hasn’t let me down. The staff was very nice and friendly. The food was precisely what Thais tasted.

Friendly and homely atmosphere. I had chicken stir fry and cashews, my wife had chicken and ginger stir fry. Both were great. Those who are in the know take their own wine!

Lovely staff and very good food! They had my absolute favourite dessert - mango sticky rice - and it’s only available for another month so you have to get there now!! Highly recommend it!

Oh my goodness, what amazing service and food in the little gem on the Harrow Road. Amazing starter for 2 with a selection of Thai Treats including the best Thai fish cakes in the UK, chicken wrapped in banana and other goodies. Loved Bai Krapow stir fry and egg fried rice - we also had a super-fresh prawn salad - all for £28 each - bargain.

The food it’s really nice, and the pad tai was amazing! The service it’s also very good and it’s a quiet place. 🙂

This place was recommended to me by late Father it was his favourite and has been mine for the past 12 years. I've had Birthday celebrations there. The food is delicious, great Soul music which sets the ambiance. Front of House Bair is so welcoming and friendly. I definitely recommend here after all it is Award Winning!!

Best thai restaurant in the area! I used to visit often when I still lived on Harrow road. Service was friendly! Now I’m ordering takeaway and still delicious! Their chicken is not dry like everywhere else and prawns are good too - I’ve tried both in noodles and curries. Consistent 5/5!

Tried the food yesterday. It was not good. This is not how authentic Thai food is supposed to taste. The green curry was passable but the other dishes that we had were unedible! I wouldn't eat here again👎🏼

Without a question of doubt the best Thai food I have ever eaten! So delicious, and such a great variety of options. They pay the utmost attention to the flavours and delivery of the food. As a vegan the options are so broad almost every dish can be adjusted. Not to add how absolutely lovely the staff are! I go here every time I have family to stay. Remains a forever favourite!

It’s a shame that I have lived in the area for 10 years and I decided to go for dinner now …authentic Thai food ..reminded me of the time when I was living in Thailand ..Food is Superb ,I tried a fantastic fish salad with fresh mango,corriander,mint and mixed salad (explosion of flavours) and honestly the best Thom Kha Gai soup. Special experience !!!

I was gonna give 4 stars but 3 instead and i will tell you why. I ordered on Deliveroo and this was my first time ordering here. I am Thai So I ordered Laab, a starter and 3 boxes of rice. I only order a few because I only wanted rice to eat with something at home. But I decided to try something too. Packing 10/10 Delivery time 10/10 Food #Laab 5/10 very well presented and nearly cook perfectly but the taste is just salty. It is suppose to be sour too! but it wasn't and that was a let down because the main ingredient should be salty(from the fish sauce) sour and spicy. I understand that we are living in England and most Thai places don't make spice food. But Laab is from eastern Thailand, which is where a lot of spicy food comes from. Just put maybe a little bit of chilli(mild will do, a little kick. you know?) and MORE LIME JUICE! it was 1% sour! It should be balance! But i didn't have my hopes up. I have tried a lot of thai food in england. If you get the flavour right. You would be on to something :) #Toong Tong 8/10 well cooked, tasty. No complaint :) Basically spring rolls.

We have just ordered a take away from Tong Kanom and have instantly been taken back to Thailand. The food is exquisite and arrived piping hot. This will be a very frequently visited restaurant. Glorious, don’t miss out.

One of the best and meatiest pork ribs I have ever had. Been coming to this place for years! Highly recommendable, you won't be disappointed.

This is a wonderful, out-of-the-way, mom & pop's Thai, that's about as good as, in this country, it gets. Can't praise it highly enough. Bia, the boss man, has just taken over from his dad, who's in his 70s, lovely guy. It's closed on Mondays, so the family can have a rest. Bring your own - there's an alcohol shop a few yards away. Does takeaway, though - save plastic - eat in! It's a charming setting, with luscious dishes: Duck Laab, Som Tam, Pad Prik, beautiful green curry, fresh, light and delightful.

I cannot rate this place highly enough - it’s just excellent. I usually have Thai fishcakes to begin with have had spring rolls, spicy prawns wrapped in pastry and a few others and have none have disappointed, they have been consistently excellent. Pad Thai does not disappoint and the stir fries, which the Chicken Khrapow is my favourite, served with egg fried rice (not very Thai) are always excellent. The restaurant is BYOB and two can leave absolutely stuffed for £36.

I went with a family friend for a late dinner who had recommended this restaurant and was incredibly surprised with excellent food and fabulous service. The Boneless Fish Fillet, Prawn Massaman Curry and Coconut Rice were so delicious, I would happily come back here again and would recommend to anyone!

I have been coming here for nearly 20 years and it really is one of my favourite places to eat Thai. Family run small with a few extra tables downstairs it covers all your favourite Thai dishes. Bring your own drink from the shop a few doors down too! Usually only 1 or 2 deserts but am usually so full... that I don't often, well I do actually have them! Going tonight and its been a few months. Friends whom I introduce love it. Relaxed, friendly and neighbourhood! As its some distance from the tube they have to make their food better to make it worth going (literally) the extra mile or two!

Decided to try this restaurant after reading good reviews on Tripadvisor. Not a fan of the decor but I wasnt expecting much, as we were there for a quick dinner. My partner ordered pad ke mau and panang curry, which was nice, but my pad thai and som tam (papaya salad) was completely tasteless. Was tempted to ask our server to taste my food and tell me if that was normal, but decided against it. Never been so disappointed :-( Dont know if the chef was having an 'bad-day', as reviews were so good, but we will not be returning.

We heard of this restaurant by word of mouth and decided to try it out on a week night. As expected, the restaurant was not super busy and we easily got a table without needing to reserve. We are vegetarian and find that sometimes, the vegetarian choice is limited in restaurants, but not here. The friendly waitress pointed out the few items that could NOT be cooked as a vegetarian option. As a bonus, everything seemed to be gluten-free too; the noodles were rice noodles and the spring rolls were made with rice paper!

I've been to Thailand lots of times, actually a lot and it's hard to come by a more friendly place. Most of all the food is super!!! Excellent

Ayer fuimos aquí esperando para llevar después de que un amigo recomendó: una vez entramos dentro, el ambiente era muy bonito, y el personal era muy cálido y acogedor, decidimos comer en. Pedimos un postre y, aunque todos eran de lo que había sido anunciado, nos echaba algo fuera del menú, y era super sabroso! El servicio fue impecable, la comida deliciosa, y nos enteramos por el futuro, puede traer su propio vino, que es fabuloso! Traeremos la familia aquí, y no puedo esperar a volver!

Cogí un par de botellas de vino, se sentó y disfrutamos de la mejor comida tailandesa que hemos tenido en años! Fuimos un miércoles por la noche y era preciosa y tranquila. Pedimos un poco de comida: el plato de sopa, plato para 2 Tom yum con gambas, pollo con fideos thai Pad, Tam som, Tilapia, curry con carne, arroz jazmín. La comida no tardaron mucho en todo para salir. Los aperitivos eran preciosas con el salsas. La sopa Tom yum era divino! ! Fuera completo y jugoso gambas champiñones servida en un cuenco de preciosa. De lejos, el mejor Tom Yum que he probado nunca. Muy potente, como debe ser. El tam som fue también uno de los mejores que he probado con el susurro de ajo pero también una agradable dulzura también entrando a través de. La Tilapia era crujiente y fuimos muy bien con la nitidez de la salsa, nunca había probado antes y fue memorable. El Pad Thai fue realmente agradable y sabroso con trozos de pollo jugoso. Curry rojo con carne era deliciosa y bien equilibrado perfecto con el arroz jazmín bien preparado. En general, estoy muy impresionado con este lugar y no puedo esperar a volver. Muy buena relación calidad-precio por lo que nos dieron por el dinero. Es realmente agradable que pudimos traer a nuestro vino, ya que tenemos una de las preferidas de la comida tailandesa, que hizo una excelente experiencia. La camarera era encantador y atento. Have been going here for a few years and usually have a wonderful meal but very disappointed on my last visit. I ordered the vegetable penang (a favourite) but instead of the usual large variety of vegetables in sauce, I got 4 pieces of broccoli, a few beans and mange tout smothered in sauce. The sauce was lovely but far too much of it and very little veg. I complained to the waitress - where was the carrot, pepper, onion and baby sweetcorn (I forgot to mention the bamboo shoots, peas and mushrooms)? She had a word with the chef and the response was my veg penang never varied, what I had in front of me was the same recipe they had always served. Had I been imagining the carrot, pepper, onion and baby sweetcorn (plus peas and mushrooms) on my previous visits? Obviously as the waitress could not be convinced otherwise. But she offered to fetch some carrots from the kitchen and what came back was laughable - a full bowl of penang sauce with 6 thin slices of carrot skulking on the bottom. Admittedly there's a veg shortage at present but the table next to mine had peppers, mushrooms, carrots and onions in profusion. My husband's meal had a greater variety of veg than mine and he'd ordered chicken massaman. What irked me was that the restaurant was claiming I had always been served this mean variety of 3 green veg - come on Tong Kanom, I've been dining on this dish at yours for many years, I look forward to eating it, it's my favourite - why are you now rationing the very ingredients in a vegetable dish that you are happy to chuck into the meat dishes?Not a happy regular customer!

Small and cosy Thai for bite to eat. There is a byo alcohol policy (only beer or wine). Food tasted fresh, service was quick and reasonably priced. Would definitely go again.

Very Nice Place, I do recommend booking before as it can get busy quite quickly, its not a huge place but compact & cosy. You can bring you own beverages Including Alcohol as they do not sell alcohol but do sell soft drinks & water.The food choice is good for Vegans & Vegetarians, food is all authentic & cutlery. Friendly staff. The portions are good also. This was my 1st visit, I would go again.

I ordered a takeaway for collection and was told to collect in 40 minutes. 40 minutes later i arrive and wait 5 minutes to be greeted, despite it being relatively empty inside. Eventually manage to speak to someone and they hadn't even began making my order. 20 minutes later, still no food, I stand here writing this review. I wasn't even offered anything complimentary as an apology, I didn't actually even receive an apology. Wouldn't suggest ordering a takeaway from here, highly doubt they are the best Thai in London with arrogant and useless staff.

Reasonably priced, regular Thai Food nothing exceptional, but value for money. Staff are friendly and attentive. Décor is lovely and comfortable, affords itself to cosy dining experience.

I've been to Tong Kanom about 6 times, and it's consistently excellent. The food is exceptional, especially the curries. Great price too- about 8 quid. The chicken wrapped in leaves as a starter is particularly good too.The service is great, and obviously BYOB is always a plus!Recommended.

This is the best Thai food I have eaten outside of Thailand itself. I come here a lot with friends or family. It is a lovely cosy place reminiscent of Thailand itself :)Really good really tasty food, fast service, the staff have impeccable manners and attention to your service. It's BYOB which is excellent too. The only thing that disappoints is they are closed on a Sunday :(

I really like the food here. However you have to wait absolutely ages to get anything and for your food. I have been here a food times and always enjoy the food, but just won't go back because you wait far far too long for your food.

I have been going to this restaurant since 2012 and I come here on average every month or two and I didn’t realize that an update is long overdue. The food has never been bad actually quite the opposite the standard has been kept always very high. When we went, few days ago we had the mixed starter for 2 (a must for everyone), plus 2 Prawns Pad Thai and a Tilapia fish in tamarind sauce. Everything was perfect and fresh. Just a little suggestion, I find the tamarind sauce a bit too dense maybe could be a bit lighter but this doesn’t detract from the quality of the dish. The curries are very good too. I don’t want to show off here but I think I notice the difference when food is prepared and cooked with passion and love and believe you me that comes across. As I said in the first review don’t be put off by the surroundings, once you go through the door you will feel at home in the comfort of your own living room and the ambiance is very Zen, you never feel that they rush you to leave. The bill came at a very reasonable £ 36. Almost forgot that is a BYO with no corkage charges. Do I need to say more? You would be a fool to miss this one!

We absolutely love this place. Amazing starters and mains. Very unique flavour and has a nice spicy kick to the food. Have been here a fair few time now and has been spot on each and every time. I have been coming here for some 17 years although I no longer live nearby. The food here is excellent, authentic and very reasonably priced. Last night my friend and I had 2 courses each and jasmine tea (no alcohol served here but you can bring in beer or wine). The chicken satay was sweet and nutty and the sauce thick and delicious. The jungle curry was spicy as it should be but not so hot as to be inedible. The sticky rice was amazing although the Thai mango season is over so no mango and sticky rice for dessert.This is a small comfortable restaurant with friendly service. You need to book. A 2 course meal for 2 before service came to £33.50 - great value. To put this into perspective I used to eat in Khun Akorn in knightsbridge 20 years ago and a meal for 2 was about £95 back then. The flavours were not necessarily better but they did use more Thai frut and veg in the dishes.

This restaurant serves the best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand. It's a family run business and the food is sensational. The most authentic I've experienced. The starter Ribs are a highlight and the Gai told is phenomenal - I've never tasted chicken so tender. It's small and the location leaves something to be desired but with food this good, it doesn't matter. It's also bring your own drinks so the food is also reasonably priced. I've been going for years andSuch an amazing restaurant. If you like Thai food, give it a visit.

Tong Kanom is much better than the Thai Rice, nearby.But if you can travel Boys, done the road, or Spicy Basil in Kilburn are better.

This is a lovely local BYO Thai restaurant. Reasonably priced, friendly service and excellent food.Good selection of chicken, prawn and beef dishes. Bit light on seafood - so not much squid or fish - but everything else is so good you wont miss it.

Been using this place last 5/6 years on and off. Never had a bad meal here. Went today and it was excellent. Plenty of choices and tasted as advertised-all fresh food and ingredients.Take your own booze in from any local shop as soft drinks only served which makes the meal even cheaper.It doesn't stand out from the street and could easily pass by without even thinking there is a hidden gem in there. Well worth a visit for any Thai loving foodie.

Been using this restaurant for years, and we've noticed a slip in the quality of the food, so haven't ordered takeaway from them for a while. Thought we'd give it another go and ordered a few basic dishes.First, the freebie prawn crackers were stale, so why bother sending them. My son's egg fried rice was tasteless, apart from the aftertaste of dodgy onions. My wife's pad thai was adequate, and my jungle curry was unedible, and I mean unedible. The chicken tasted disgusting, the veg were raw and it all came in a greyish broth with a heavy spoon full of very spicy curry paste just floating on top. I've never spat food back in my plate before so that was a first for me.To their credit, they were very apologetic on the phone and offered a credit note. I would have preferred a refund as we don't intend to order from them again.Great shame but symptomatic of the way a lot of the local Thai restaurants have gone.

We have been eating here for 15 years. The food is always perfect and the service always friendly. If you want authentic home cooked style Thai food there is nowhere better in London.

I had many pad thai in London, but the pad thai at Tong Kanom - a tiny thai restaurant hidden in ugly harrow road - is still my favourite. You can bring your own drink and the other options in the menu are also worth the visit. Very friendly service and honest price.

That isn't some sort of posh restaurant made to look beautiful. However it has proper Thai atmosphere inside, very friendly waiter and the food....Well, standard of the food is amazing, everything cooked fresh, and taste beautiful. If you fancy to taste a proper Thai cuisine, that is definitely place to visit
