Visited for a leaving party on a Wednesday evening. Food was really nice, however the waitress was slightly rude. I had visited with a groups of people who hadn’t been before so they needed things explaining and it seemed to be an issue for the waitress. Apart from that, food was nice and came pretty fast.

This was our first Mexican food experience and we had a super evening. Knowing little about Mexican food we asked our waitress for advice and went with her suggestions. We ordered four different dishes, which we shared, and then added a salad. The waitress was very helpful. Service was prompt. Decor was vibrant. Food was delicious. Bill was a pleasant surprise: good value for the money.

We ate as a party of 3 adults and a 1 year old, seated upstairs which is wonderfully decorated, bright and airy. The food was absolutely delicious, as were the two cocktails we tried (pina colada and the ginger and cinnamon margarita). The staff were all very friendly, bringing a high chair for our little one, storing the pram out of the way downstairs, and making sure the broccoli and peas side we ordered was not tossed in chili oil so they could eat it! They also brought out a card for me, for my birthday, with well wishes and a discount code for next time we visit. We will definitely be returning as it's a joy to find such delicious Mexican food locally!

AMAZING VEGAN OPTIONS This restaurant has been my ride or die in Salisbury for at least 3 years, the food is impeccable and perfect for people with all kinds of dietary requirements. Sweet potato tacos are my best recommendation. I've come here on date nights with my partner, family meetings and just with friends, and every time the atmosphere and service has been perfect and everyone has loved it. Never once have I regretted coming here and if you're vegetarian/vegan I highly recommend this restaurant!

I have been here before ,just for cocktails and love the ambience there. Last night we went for a birthday meal, food is not really to my palate, so unfair to comment. But looked really nice. However, we had a bad experience as one if our friends was told they could not be served any more alcohol as the chef had heard him being sick in the loos! Our friend had not been ill, he's getting over the rotten flu/ cough that's been going around and wasn't even aware he'd coughed at the time. Nobody had checked to see if he was alright, just wrongly assumed he was drunk when actually he had just finished work and only had 2 drinks!! Staff were adamant that they would not serve him, very angry and upset, I dread to imagine that if somebody had genuinely been ill and nobody checked what could happen. I will not being going back there, so very disappointed.

We ended up at Tinga in Salisbury on Saturday after being thoroughly disappointed by the Christmas market—and wow, what a save! Tinga was absolutely banging! Every single dish we ordered was fantastic, but special shoutout to the homemade salsa... on another level. The flavours were so fresh and vibrant, and the tequila selection was incredible. The atmosphere in Tinga is cool—immersive, fun, and full of character. It feels like you’ve been transported straight to Mexico! Myself and my sister visited Tinga on Saturday, unfortunately I'm not quite sure what happened to this once in my opinion great place, cocktails came out and were so bland and just all ice, then our food come out now normally it's a little staggered but no bam everything we felt so bombarded and struggling on a table for two,we asked if they could possibly slow down bearing in mind there was just us and another table but the waitress just kept saying its because we are empty and the chefs want to get the food out, we were then bombarded with our burritos which by now there was know where for them so asked politely if they could take them back and keep them warm as everything was cold by now as we were trying to eat it as quick as possible,I'm sorry to say but when we tried to explain this to the manager downstairs he couldn't really givea hoot about what we were trying to say as this experience really upset us as we dont get much time to catch up with each other so this was our treat and it wasn't as if our bill was cheap nearly £100 for food and drinks that we really left sorry to say we wont be returning

Living in Florida with a high Spanish population and lots of amazing authentic Mexican restaurants plus a consistent traveler to Mexico, I can tell you Tinga does not make you feel like you’re in the Juarez District in Mexico City. Not even close. The food is not even close Mexican. This restaurant should be classified as euro fusion cuisine. Again this is not real Mexican. It’s crap Mexican. Lastly, not sure if the owners did their research; Tinga is a Mexican slang word for, ‘vulgar’ or ‘disorderly’….. The best part of the experience was the service.

Tinga is a great Mexican restaurant in central Salisbury that you really need to visit! The restaurant serves authentic Mexican dishes, alongside a colourful atmosphere and friendly service. I started off sharing some Guacamole with Tortillas Chips, which was very fresh and flavoursome. For my main I chose the Steak Burrito which was sensational - the flavours were absolutely phenomenal. I finished the meal with some Churros which rounded out a great meal in the best way. The service was very friendly and attentive, and I would also highly recommend a Margarita as they were great too. Overall for 2 people with drinks, 3 courses and tip, it was under £70, which I thought was fantastic value for the quality of the meal and service. If you’re looking for a great independent restaurant in Salisbury - look no further, as Tinga is where you should go!

Sadly there were no chapulines and I was really curious to try them! Only downside: I don't really like dulce de leche as churros sauce, a chocolate one as option would be amazing It's better to book if you wanna have dinner, while it's easier to eat at lunch.

Watch out for the 12.5% service charge! Visiting Salisbury for the weekend and found this vibrant Mexican place just off the main square. Amazing dishes, super tasty cocktails and friendly service. However this enjoyable experience was all undone by a hidden service charge of 12.5% when presented with the bill. The only indication of an additional charge on the menu is 10% for tables of 6, there was only 2 of us. I'm happy to tip staff if I feel the service is worth it, but it should be my choice, not a hidden charge on my bill. For the time we were there we had 4 servers, who were pleasant and efficient but hard to say exceptional and for me not worth a tip. Left a bad taste.

Service has really gone down hill! We love Tinga and I'm really sad to see it go down hill, their service used to be first class but on the last couple of visits it's been a bit shambolic. I don't know if Tom has left but we haven't seen him for a while and they're really missing his experience! They seem to have a lot of new inexperienced staff and a serious lack of management presence, this evening most of them were 'hiding' in the kitchen, lack of attention and obvious inexperience. Sydney tried his best later on and quite frankly seemed like one of two people who appeared to want to be there, the other was the barman/cocktail maker who would be a much better choice for team leader or manager. Food is still good although I'd say not as good as I expect from Tinga. Also, please update your drinks menu. There are things on there that you haven't had for months and the staff are completely unaware of. This evening was the first time we've ever asked for the 12.5% service charge to be removed as it really wasn't deserved. Not that it doesn't wind us up every time - we're not America, tips should be a choice not dictated!

WOW! What a fantastic restaurant! We celebrated my dad's 75th birthday at Tinga, making it our second visit after an equally amazing experience last year for his 74th. If it was great then, this time it was unbelievably spectacular! The service from all the waitresses was outstanding, the Tinga beer was delightful, and the tapas were absolutely mouth-watering. Every bite was a burst of incredible flavours! I’m amazed at how they achieve such a perfect balance in their dishes, but they do it flawlessly. We’ve always opted for the tapas rather than the larger dishes because we love the variety and the experience of sharing different flavours. For my dad's 75th, our lovely waitress offered him a free shot or churros. Naturally, we convinced him to go for the tequila shot, which he thoroughly enjoyed! A huge thank you to everyone at Tinga. Your impeccable service, delicious food, and warm smiles made the evening perfect. My dad even said Tinga is in his top 5 restaurants ever, and he’s quite the foodie!

Other people seem to be enjoying themselves, it was very busy. The food was inedible and most of it was left. Seeing the situation in the kitchen didn't help. If you have your staff in view have chefs whites or a CLEAN uniform. Also hair should be properly tired back. Handling raw meat with your hands while dropping on the flames and moving back quickly is unprofessional and could be dangerous. We complained twice and was told it's clearly on the menu. The staff were too busy to care. However a waitress did explain the menu as it was confusing and some of the ingredients we had to look up on the internet. I cook and have worked in a commercial kitchen before for a major chain and would never turn out food like this. Oh and the amount of salt on the avocado was shocking. We refused to pay the 12.5% service charge but still had a £62 bill. Left and purchased a cheeseburger.

We (3 of us) arrived here without a booking on a Saturday early lunchtime. They were fully booked but managed to squeeze us in and told us they'd need the table back in an hour. Not too long after we were seated, they told us they'd managed to move a few tables around and didn't need our table back in a hurry afterall. They were super friendly throughout and couldn't do enough for us. The cocktails looked great and were served in fun receptacles, but unfortunately didn't taste the best (a bit too wishy washy for my liking). We opted for the tapas which was presented very nicely and was enjoyable, but I will say that it all tasted like it was lacking something in flavour. For a Mexican, I was expecting more spice perhaps. You can spice your food up with their tasty salsas and extra chillis which is what we did. The churros were absolutely delicious. The restaurant is very well decorated and it was lovely to learn about the owner's story and how Tinga was born. All in all, we had a lovely lunch experience and I will be going again (I'm planning on taking my husband for his birthday, and we're going to try the burritos).

There is a very nice atmosphere in the restaurant, the staff is very friendly and the food was very good. There were some surprising dishes on the menu, the taste was nicely balanced and portions were fine. Nice concept for 'shared dining'. Unfortunately, not everything on the menu was available, both drinks and food.

Tinga was superb, the atmosphere was brilliant and the staff were attentive and helpful. The food was very quick and came out as the dishes because available, there were no items our party disliked. The queso was superb and loved by all of us. A perfect little gem within Salisbury and a definite place for a meal in Salisbury.

Unfortunately on early Saturday evening we were rushed through our meal. We were advised that we had 30mins to vacate our table when 2 of our party had only just received their main course. This happened 3 times. Staff were not helpful or understanding that the delay was not down to us , it was their kitchen that caused the delay !

Delicious food, dishes a larger size than you would expect which is great! The 2-3 dishes per person is a perfect recommendation. Cocktails 10/10 - Tom makes an absolutely stupendous margarita so will be coming back. Thank you Will for your service!

Beautiful experience from the moment we walked in! This is such a gorgeous, colourful and creative place.. staff were lovely and helpful throughout. The cocktails were beautiful and you could not fault the food - authentic, colourful and delicious! We were also very impressed at how well priced everything was.. Would definitely recommend and look forward to coming back again! Thank you 🙏🏻

The portions are really small so you should at least order three dishes. (we were told so but weren’t really hungry) It was a festively decorated place with lots of colors and staff were cheerful too. Pina Colada was good, and other small plates were okay. but I wouldn’t go for the churros if I visit again..

Such a great restaurant and fun Mexican vibes. Very friendly service but a little slow given how quiet the restaurant was. Food was good but we were charged for a few extra tortilla chips without being advised. 12% service feel felt steep when the majority of our bill was drinks. Good cocktails and we liked the personal service that was offered on recommendations for the Tequila trolley!

The staff were lovely at Tinga, and the decorations were amazing. I ordered the non-alcoholic piña colada and it was great! However, when it came to the food, when one person on the table received the food, it took another 10 minutes for my food to arrive meaning my friends food was slightly cold by the time mine came out. When my burrito came, I was very impressed, looked and tasted good… until I chewed a chicken bone and it put me off my whole meal

Tried to order online and the order was showing as pending and were not sure if the order had gone through. Walked to the store to check, told the order had not gone through. Out through the order for us and cost £7 more than before despite still collecting . Questioned why (despite the man serving having seen our attempts to order with pending card payments) and would not honour the same price. Was unhelpful, rude and charged us more for the exact same thing. We are returning customers but won’t be returning this time as the service was not good. Just to add , despite them reassuring us that our original order had not gone through, upon checking the bank account a few days later , we were actually charged twice for the meal after all.
