A traditional heritage pub in Stanground village with a generous, well presented beer garden backing onto the river. Good drinks and great Thai food. Not cheap eats but bang on quality. A lot of love goes into what they all do.

The place is very friendly anf local the service was excellent when I went as they got you the drinks in no time. There was a band playing the night I went and the atmosphere was phenomenal

Travelled all the way from Bolton, absolutely phenomenal food. I’d recommend the Panang curry, but the Pad Thai is equally good. Staff are wonderful and the atmosphere is great, especially if the the local football team has played that day.

We FINALLY had our first experience of this fantastic pub and restaurant. The food was bursting with flavour and the people were sooo friendly. Will be back very soon !!

My family held a private party here last night for my brother's 30th birthday and we had the most amazing time! The entire experience of having a family celebration was taken to another level at this restaurant! Not only was the food absolutely delicious but the staff were brilliant and accommodating in every way possible! we would like to thank Dave, Karen, Andy and all the rest of the staff in the restaurant for making our evening perfectly hassle free and extremely enjoyable! Most of our event was enjoyed outside in the beer garden which was set up beautifully for us and carried a great vibe till late night. Once the sun set, ambient lighting from the fontoons created the most warmest atmosphere for all to sit around, drink and chat till the party went on! The service from all staff members was fantastic and did not fail to please us with their willing attitude throughout the night! If you're ever looking for the right venue for a celebration with friends/family whether you want a cosy intimate meal with delicious Thai food or have an outdoor bash with chilled summer vibes then The Woolpack & Tast of Thailand is the perfect place in Peterborough! Highly recommended!

Excellent pub , great beers , wonderful atmosphere , fantastic landlord & landlady , live music &! an amazing Thai restaurant with brilliant meals cooked to order by a really talented chef . Cannot recommend highly enough , just superb.

Good pub with nice setting big long garden but cost £9.60 in total for one kronenburg & one John Smiths. Again find another pub that probably won’t have more than a few due to cost of Beer. This seems to be a problem also in smaller pubs with many closing due to high costs & people choosing to stay at home. It would be nice to see more offers on drinks did not notice any on this visit. From what I recall they did a big pitcher of Beer about a year ago not sure if this is still available. Some Thai food available but did not try any. Maybe these smaller pubs could do with some help to stay open as we have lost too many to count and soon may not have any.

Fantastic place, delicious food!

The food and service here is 5 star, but the only let down was the parking situation. Its difficult to get anywhere near the pub, so you have to park quite a walk away. Would be difficult if you have mobility issues. But the food is just amazing. You can taste every fresh ingredient and there is so much flavour. They are accurate in the description of spice, so where it says hot, it is hot. I felt the price was reasonable for food, and the price of drinks is standard. Also, the lady who served us was just lovely. For those curious, the restaurant is at the back of the building, which we entered by going into the beer garden, and you will see a green door with 'duck' written on it. The toilets appear to be back in the main bar area though. They do delivery too, if you would prefer.

A group of us visited the Woolpack to try the Thai Menu. The service was great and there was no long waits for the food. The food was really excellent and the choice was varied. There was also the option that if you had a favourite dish you could have it made for you. A great place to go to and we will certainly be visiting again. Customer service at its best.

Have visited this pub on many occasions but most recently on Good Friday for karaoke night. The pub is very lively and vibrant with staff always welcoming and friendly. The food they offer - ‘the taste of Thailand’ is exceptionally good and always cooked to a high quality standard. The large beer garden they have round the back is fantastic with great views out onto the river and great in summer. Would highly recommend.

Our first visit to try the Thai menu and WoW!! We ordered Beef Massalam Curry, Chicken Pad Thai and The Ribs. The food came within 20 minutes and what a treat, huge flavours, great quality ingredients and the ribs are probably the best I’ve ever eaten, spicy with deep flavours to really bring out the meat. It’s a local pub with a friendly and big atmosphere, a good selection of well kept ales also. Highly recommended.

Always love coming here, old skool pub, setting up the band's gear as we arrived in the afternoon. Served a fabulous, well-travelled, Timothy Taylor's Landlord...saw tapas, Thai food, burgers and Sunday roast advertised. Added bonus of a garden at the back leading to the river. Well worth a visit to keep this lovely old place in business... not many left.

Lovely authentic Thai food available. Pub is "old school " decor and furniture with log burner, piano and 1 slot machine. Lovely in summer with great garden overlooking River.

Has an excellent tented beer garden, atmosphere is very good but the locals can be a bit 'sweary' and gets tiresome after a while. Others may disagree, but that was my impression. Good selection of beers.

Had a meal in the restaurant- best Thai food in Peterborough. Just like being back in Thailand.

Shocking!!!! The attitude of the Landlady was as bad as it gets. Loudly calling out, several times, that people had “filled their boots” with the starters. Not true! There simply wasn’t enough. Why not put them on the tables instead of having a free for all? Why be so rude? Why not learn how to organise a piss up in a brewery? Never again!

Sunday afternoon, Live music, great food and a lovely appositive vibe, The Thai food was amazing and so delicious.

A fantastic old fashioned boozer. Amazing atmosphere, the staff are friendly and helpful and the locals are welcoming. The Thai kitchen serves the most fantastic food, at reasonable prices, in the converted barn to the rear.

Hidden Gem! The Thai restaurant at the back was incredible & very tasty. Staff were so so lovely and made the evening enjoyable. Would highly recommend and will be returning ☺️

Friends recommendation, so I tried it out for myself. My friend and I, had an amazing time, great food, great atmosphere, amazing value for money. Cannot wait to return.

Absolutely fantastic, all round!! The pub itself where we checked in has a lovely friendly atmosphere and the restaurant/food in the barn out the back was very enjoyable The garden leads down to the river too We are going back next week!!

Staff are very helpful and friendly and even the locals are nice. Can’t wait for my next visit and see what the weekly special will be!

The Thai food they currently do is great, however, they should offer more choices. E.G cheese salad rolls, ham and pickle rolls for lunchtime options The designated smoking area needs moving. It's too close to where they serve the food. Our meal was spoilt because of two smokers being far too close to our table. I would move it to closer to the end of the garden near the river. The staff are lovely as is the setting

I was really impressed with this place. Today was my first visit but definitely not my last. Food was fantastic and staff couldn’t have been nicer.

We had a lovely lunch here, the food was absolutely amazing. We had our little one with us and weren't sure if he would eat Thai food. Luckily they had kids options on the menu and he opted in for the chicken lollipop with rice and veg - according to him it was "the best chicken he's ever tried". High praise from a 5 year old 😄 The service was friendly, the place looked lovely. The garden backing onto the river looked very cosy - perfect for a few drinks on a sunny afternoon. We will definitely be back soon!

We visited the Thai restaurant at the back. The food lovely and authentic Thai cuisine. Great ambiance with friendly staff and the owner/ chef a Thai lady came out to make sure everything was all good

Excellent authentic Thai food. Delicious starter especially tamarind chicken wings. Pad thai noodles with succulent King Prawns and Massaman curry really good. Though we waited for some time but it's worth it. Thank you.

What fantastic food we had a mixture of starters the ribs, spring rolls and wings all very delicious, we had Pad Thai which were huge and green curry worth a visit and enjoy the beer garden as well

They have opened a Tai kitchen in their pub and the food is top notch, very home cooked feel to the dishes and very tasty. we will definitely go back.

1st visit to this pub & my only regret is not coming here sooner; it's a lovely traditional-looking pub & had friendly welcoming staff, customers & dogs (yes, it is dog-friendly!) Oh, and an amazing Sunday lunch!! Both of us had a roast beef dinner, all well-portioned. We were quite full, but couldn't resist the choice of 2 types of sponge pudding, but we both opted for sticky toffee puddings, 1 with 'pouring' cream & one with custard, both delicious to the last mouthful! 😋 We will be very happy to return again, I only hope circumstances don't conspire against us 😊

This is a great traditional pub Originally constructed in 1711. Medieval wall in garden and the old barn used to be the village mortuary (Last used in 1850s and said to be haunted). I was a regular years ago when lived up the road now been taken over by new owner a great character and hands on, who has a great vision. Real ales and craft beers straight from the keg. Garden has been revamped and improvements to the river frontage make it New outdoor cooking area with pizza oven and soon to be refurbished barn for a restaurant and events. Sunday lunches are great value but booking essential, nice cozy inglenook Woodburner for those cold winter days and nights. The regulars are very friendly, dogs also welcome.

Great pub for real ales, food, live sport and poker!

Would like to thank all staff at the woolpack Stanground for their warm welcome, we had the wake there yesterday for my father les Murphy a true Stanground legend, the staff put on a great spread for our dad, lovely freindly pub 5 * from the Murphy family Stanground

According to Google this place opens at 12.00noon. So we drove 1.5hrs to enjoy a well anticipated lunch. But when we got there it was closed and the outside board said "Regular opening times.....2pm....." Regular? Really? In that case TRY UPDATING YOUR ONLINE DETAILS GUYS!!! Seriously annoyed doesn't begin to describe how we felt! And then their phone doesn't even have an answering machine! Won't be going here again!

These premises have been the backbone of traditional standground the landlord and his staff over the past bad years have suffered pain due to to someone who does not understand what village pubs are about . The staff great helpful smiling and sometimes typical Stanground but beers lagers spirits all good. The gardens to the river make this one of the last unique village pubs .interesting choice of food but the quality good atmosphere worthy of many a visit

Just had a delicious roast at The Woolpack, Stanground. The food was fantastic, all home cooked, from quality produce by David, who came and checked on us. David was friendly and genuine as were the bar staff. The pub itself is mid sized and had a warm, friendly atmosphere with a good mix of locals. The prices for the roast were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. I will visit again when I'm in the area and recommend you visit too!

Unfortunately we were there to organise a wake. The landlady was lovely, the staff also. The only downside is that we won't be there to enjoy ourselves, but I'm sure we will in the end...

A proper pub with locals, well it was but since Covid a marquee had been added where live music happens and it so loud you can't relax.

Good beer and food. Quiz night on Tuesday.

First visit left a good enjoyable time,very friendly service, good food ,would be happy to go again soon .
