The food and the service is brilliant lovely atmosphere great countryside pub restaurant.

The best steak I have had in such a long time. I was given a warm welcome to a happy friendly atmosphere. would love my family to experience a night here.

Helen and the team were amazing! We have been meaning to come here for years and wish we had come sooner. We came for a Sunday roast and ended up having the chicken and lamb souvla. The food is absolutely incredible, probably the best lamb I’ve ever had. The portions are very generous and the chef treated our kids to a scoop of gelato ice cream. There is a great outdoor area for kids with a bouncy castle when it’s not wet. We’ll be back for sure!!!

Roast dinners are amazing here! They were so good that we returned again today for Sunday lunch and somehow, it was even better than last time!! We had a range of dishes so it can safety be said that it's good food across regardless of options. Staff are always so attentive and friendly and it's a lovely pub with original features. Hard to find somewhere that does a good Sunday dinner, thank you for your efforts!!

All we can say is WOW. We went for a birthday meal. The roast beef dinner was absolutely delicious. Every part of the dinner was tasty and so well presented and loads of it. The staff were so lovely and friendly and all of them had big smiles on their faces. Would not hesitate to go back again and again.

Well, we booked in for a Sunday Lunch and then promptly got lost walking through the woods. No worries they were very accommodating of our 45 minute delay. Service was exemplary, friendly, professional and nothing was too much trouble. The turkey roasts were incredible, great portion size, hot and fresh and tasty veg. The greek style dishes were equally ample and delicious. This is a place that other venues should learn from ..... the owners, chefs and staff here have it absolutely spot on ! We had our wedding reception at the woodman and olive and it was the best day! They looked after us and our quest above and beyond, I never had a empty glass in my hand ( one happy bride) there was no stress for our big day they handled everything down to setting up the lot! We have just had the most wonderful roast dinner at The Woodman and Olive. The service, food and ambiance were 5 star. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It was one of the best roast dinners I’ve ever had and every detail ( glazed carrots, rosemary sprigs served with delicious stuffing and the largest home made Yorkshire puddings ) was perfect . The Woodman & Olive has a great atmosphere with friendly service and a solid selection of craft beers. The peri peri chicken & halloumi were so delicious, seasoned and cooked perfectly. The place was clean, even during busy hours, and the music set the perfect vibe. Highly recommend for a relaxing night out!

I had the pleasure of visiting The Woodman and Olive restaurant yesterday, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The highlight of my meal was the chef’s special Chicken Box, and it was simply delicious! I recently dined at Woodland and Olive with two families, and while the food was exceptional, the standout of the evening was the incredible service from our waitress, Carly. With five young children in our group, Carly made the experience effortless by providing the kids with games to keep them entertained. This small but thoughtful gesture really set the tone for a relaxing meal for the adults. We chose the Meze Set Menu, and the portions were incredibly generous—so much food that we were full before the mains even came out! Carly was attentive and fun, laughing along with us as our husbands, both big eaters, struggled to finish the meal. She paced everything perfectly, making sure we never felt rushed and even offering to pack up the leftovers without hesitation. The combination of Carly’s warm, thoughtful service and the abundance of delicious food made for a truly memorable night out. I can highly recommend the woodman and olive, the food is exceptional I have never had one bad meal. The staff are amazing, friendly and just the best people. We have recently held our daughters 1st birthday in there marquee area and we couldn’t of wished for better experience, they opened the private bar int he garden just for us which was amazing and so helpful for our guests. Maria and Kyri are truly such lovely welcoming people also! If I could give more stars I would hahaha They also have a children’s play area along with a bouncy castle so in the summer kids can enjoy themselves.

Fabulous menu and great staff here. Lovely dining area. Portions are huge!!! Such a varied menu. Excellent quality ingredients. Cannot wait to return! You must try the feta & aubergine balls for starter and the gorgeous Greek pitta mains. Great selection of Greek dishes.

We recently visited this restaurant for my gaduation celebration, and the staff truly exceeded all expectations. The food was not just amazing but the service was top-notch as well. The owner took the time to chat with us, adding a lovely personal touch to our meal. They made our dining experience so comfortable and enjoyable. Lovely pub... great outdoors especially for kids as they have a slide, swings, asort course and bouncy castle. Food & drink is spot on and service great. Also good for private events with an outdoor marquee.

We was here for my cousin's Baby Shower and we had the whole venue to ourselves. She picked such an amazing venue as staff members were friendly and welcoming. The buffet was amazing and fresh. Worth visiting and worth the journey for us. Thank you for making her special day even more special

If I could leave more than a five star review I would. We just left from a baby shower in which we nearly didn’t as my partner accidentally left the keys in the boot of the car. Not only did they drop everything they were doing and came to help when they found out about it but they brought out sticks, a hook, a rope, a magnet stuck on a charging cable and the whole team with them in a mission to get these keys out with us. After nearly 30 minutes, a lot of team work, a lot of sweat and a lot of frustration they were able to take them out for us. Besides that they have a lot of great customer services with a good focus toward the family and friends and amazing food and drinks. Again thank you so much team for having fun with us trying to take those keys out with us.

First time, the chicken and pork souvlaki was slightly raw. Second time, the souvlakis all came out completely cold after waiting for ages. Maybe they didn't care because we were sitting outside instead of in. Clearly left the food sitting somewhere for ages. Terrible and overpriced. I've given this place a chance but have been disappointed both times. Won't be returning. Shame, as there aren't many Greek restaurants around here at the moment.

We unexpectedly found this lovely restaurant on our way to Hertfordshire zoo. So glad we stopped, as the food is pretty decent! Service was great too, waitresses were friendly and chatty. We are definitely coming back to try more of their delicious greek/cypriot food.

The service and food was excellent. We were made to feel welcome. The portions were large and I took half of my delicious Lamb Souvla home for a meal the next day. Loved the Pale Ale.

Whilst "out in the country" with little near by, the place was very popular. The pub has made use of their grounds by a few children outdoor activities to make it family friendly, plus a large covered area with tables and chairs where they able to cook and serve BBQ food also plenty of outdoor seating where you can sit and enjoy our beautiful British summer. Came here to attend a family member's wake, mostly spent time in the pub garden, as the weather was good, lovely place, very spacious pub garden, family friendly, also dog friendly too, there are some swings and a slide for children, also a bouncy castle, food was amazing too, staff were friendly and polite and provided excellent customer service too, would definitely recommend coming to this pub, as I will definitely visit this pub again too.

We were invited by friends to the Greek Easter which happened to be a gorgeous day. This place offered everything you needed for dining out - alfresco eating at a start, the BBQ and oven baked meat were both very delicious, very well cooked and flavoursome. Serving staff are extremely friendly and hardworking. I will not go anywhere else for Greek lamb from now! Bravo, team!

Went for mothers day, fantastic food, old school deserts, brilliant service and great atmosphere will definitely be going back. They were so good with our kids as well.

What an excellent pub! Serving delicious Greek food served by friendly and attentive staff. The pub is located in the beautiful countryside so it's away from the hustle and bustle, it's very cosy and intimate. We came and watched the football and the atmosphere was great. Calamari was absolutely delicious, it really feels like you're eating from abroad and love the fact they serve the tentacles (feet) cooked beautifully. I want to also point out how tasty the sheftalies were😍 definitely won't be the last time we're here! 11/10!!

Staff were fantastic, really helpful and friendly and food was goooood, especially the brownie. The garden area is massive and I can imagine in the summer this would be a fantastic place to come and eat, chill & bring the kids as they have a big garden. There is also a side area with a football goal - bring a ball! :)

7 of us for an afternoon prosecco brunch. v impressed that we could have gin, porn star or prosecco. as one who hates prosecco i was very happy! DJ was great lots of 80's,90's music had us all up dancing. only negative was our table was by the dj so quite hard to hear each other. Food ok, nothing special, but filled us up. 1 .5 hours of drink included. lovely time and will return x

I'm a tourist and wanted to go to a good pub and while adventuring we stumbled across this and decided to go there for dinner. Absolutely amazing idea! The staff is absolutely lovely and the food was amazing. Highly recommend!

I never write reviews but I have to say if ever there was a restaurant/ pub that was worth a review. It was this one. I would say that this is the best pub roast dinner I've ever had and as I am now 53 years old, I would say that is an achievement full marks to the restaurant and the staff you deserve. What a lovely find! We came across this gem today whilst out nearby and fancied stopping for something to eat. The Sunday roasts were delicious and the service was great. A really lovely, well run and friendly pub with great food to top it off. We will be back again.

Probably the worst food and service I have ever had and for the amount of money we paid it’s unbelievable! I complained about my dinner as I was served a plate of bones and packet cous cous after waiting well over an hour to be told I didn’t complain quickly enough even though there was no waiters around to complain to. £25 for lamb bones and rude slow service. So under staffed save your money and only have a drink here

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at a restaurant that left me utterly disappointed on all fronts. It's disheartening to see what was once a culinary gem plummet to such dismal depths. Customer Service: The first letdown was the abysmal customer service. I was met with an air of indifference as soon as I walked in, and it only went downhill from there. The Asian lady behind the bar, presumably in charge of taking orders, was the epitome of rudeness. She made no effort to greet us or make us feel welcome, leaving a sour taste in our mouths from the very beginning. Food Quality: The ultimate betrayal came in the form of our meals. We ordered the chicken and lamb dishes, both of which were promised to be the highlight of the menu. Instead, we were served dry, badly seasoned, and tasteless pieces of meat. It was as if the chef had completely forgotten how to season or cook these dishes properly. The lack of flavor and moisture made it an ordeal to swallow each bite. Pricing: To add insult to injury, the prices were outrageously high for the dismal quality of food and service we received. It felt like a daylight robbery, and I can't help but lament the days when the previous owners and chef took pride in their offerings and cared about their patrons. This experience was a far cry from the wonderful, delectable meals I once enjoyed at this establishment.

We booked the woodman and olive on recommendation to celebrate my uncle’s wedding anniversary. We were a party of 18. The food was fantastic, very authentic, tasty and plenty of it. We gave our orders in advance so I think it helped but the staff were fantastic, very attentive, polite, happy and genuinely lovely people. It’s very good value for money in a very clean and welcoming environment. It’s a real gem of a place that I know we will visit again.

First time for me at the Woodman & Olive but we will definitely be back. When we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Drinks ordered quickly and served. Ordered the food and were told that the pork tomahawks ordered for 2 of our party would take 35 minutes but they were worth waiting for and they looked delicious. Most of us had roast beef or others meats. I would say the roast dinner was the best roast I & others said they had had in any restaurant. The brownie dessert was lovely too. Excellent & such friendly service the whole time we were there and I am so glad we choose the Woodman & Olive .
