Fantastic fish chowder with light soft crispy crust bread Cakes look gorgeous But….. I can’t come back until he changes his practice. The banging out of the coffee grounds was truly ear bashing and obviously pretty frequent. Put some rubber on it… He mustn’t realise but he needs to get someone else to do it with the same force and listen. It wasn’t a relaxing lovely catch up. It was awful, left full but with a headache

What happened? First visited 2008 half way through silverdale walk and it was excellent. Today only four items on menu...Bacon or Sausage Bap, mushrooms on toast or soup only to be told by pleasant enough girls behind counter that there was no food as "chef" off probably until school starts as he was looking after his kids...do you need a 'chef' to do a bacon butty? We settled for a cheese scone and a traditional jam scone which were good....but not what we would have ordered if we had not been hungry (I had previously ascertained that the cafe was open so we could call in for lunch on this particular day before we started the walk!). The girls would have been better looking after the kids........... Whilst we were sat with our coffees, numerous (no exaggeration) members of public came in for something to eat and only one small party stayed, the others went in search of an alternative venue. I think a packed picnic is the way forward for us and will only re-visit if we are desperate for a drink or the toilet! Disappointed is an understatement!

Popped in for a cuppa and an ice cream. No other customers waiting. Two staff making coffees behind the counter. Manageress pops in, chats to the girls, and has to push past us to get some ice cream. We waited 5 minutes (not exaggerating) and during that time none of them spoke to us or acknowledged our existence. So we left, suggest you do the same if you are treated like this.

It’s in rapid decline. A business needs a friendly owner. This place has Mr Glum. It’s also extremely grubby and I’d be interested to see what Environmental Health makes of the place now. On the last two visits we’ve experienced extremely poor attention to detail on our, very simple, orders. No spoons or milk drinks. No knife for the scone. No clotted cream or jam brought with the scone (even though we paid the extra for them). All topped off with nasty-stained cups. Worst of all - not an utterance of an apology from Mr Glum. It’s surely only a matter of time that this business crashes and burns. All because of sloppy standards and a hapless owner. We wont be back - it’s the Blossom Bird from now.

This is our favourite local cafe. Fantastic cakes, delicious coffees and lovely warm rustic atmosphere! It does get busy at peak times because it’s very popular, but the quality never suffers. It’s dog, child and walker friendly so it does get muddy. It’s all part of the atmosphere and fun of the place. If you want a quality lunch or snack in an idyllic location, it’s a must visit!

Been coming here for years. Great little spot for a coffee and an a bite to eat. Pity the owner is a bit of a tool when it comes to talking to customers. It’s also a bit grotty these days. In the current climate with hospitality struggling, we always do our best to support local businesses but the attitude we received last time we were there was completely uncalled for.

We've been coming to The Wolfhouse for 16yrs, seeing past and present owners. It was a lot cleaner and more presentable with the past owners (quite a number of years ago)...but it's still a lovely, local, easy walk for us to do and somewhere to head for. It was very disappointing on Easter weekend though. We ordered a coffee and some bruschetta with grilled veg and cheese (which was delicious by the way)...our problem was with who I think is the owner. We had drank our drinks and still not received the food after 45 minutes. The guy came out delivering food to others who had ordered after us. We very kindly asked if our order was on its way. He didn't even ask how long ago we'd ordered..for all we knew the order could have been lost. We have also seen it far busier than it was. The rude reply was "it will be coming out, we are busy, and it's Easter holidays " this was said as he was walking away to talk to someone he knew. It was rude and embarrassing. The toilet sink was overflowing too. It needs a good clean and pain inside and out...its a lot grubier than it used to be. Reluctant to go back. They don't deserve the business. But I still love to support a local struggling business....so please clean up your act.

Called in for a coffee while out around Silverdale.Coffee's were well presented. My flat white coffee was far too strong ,as was my wife's oat milk latte (she left hers) ,I asked for more milk ,which the proprietor gave me without question ,it made it drinkable. We had a scone but they didn't have any jam ,which was fine - it was very tasty .The cafe is very quirky ,but looked like it needed a good clean - the bare wiring coming from the ceiling lights was a little concerning .Been in worse Cafe's ,but I don't think we would re visit.

Lovely food but terrible service. Waited ages to get served with staff wandering around ignoring the long queue that was forming at the counter. Then took a while for our very simple order to arrive. Great little very busy rustic cafe. Very popular with walkers and local visitors to Silverdale. Excellent home made cakes, scones and some hot dishes. Excellent sausage and bacon ciabatta rolls. We have been coming to The Wolf House for years, Ed and his staff work very hard to present good food in what are very difficult times for the hospitality industry. Nothing will be cheap with the costs rising as they are and difficulty getting staff. Great outside areas with children’s play area for sunnier days. Very dog friendly which is a bonus in this area. Keep going we need good quality places to go instead of fast food chains.

Visited twice within a six week period - the first time I was a bit disappointed by a dry scone but thought it was just a fluke. The second time I was with a different friend and she ordered a scone; again, she found it dense and dry. It needed every bit of butter to make it palatable. I paid 12.50 for two hot drinks and two cakes which was steep. Not planning to visit again in a hurry.

Bit pricey at £6.75 but plenty of salmon and other salad items , However when I visited yesterday I was still charged £6.75 but when served the ciabatta was the size of a large scone and more salad than salmon ! Sunday lunchtime visit. On arrival it was a bit confusing as we could see people queuing at a window but didn’t know if that was for takeaways only, if the cafe was A separate entry or even what was on offer when would reach the front of the queue. We couldn’t find any info in advance of our visit as to whether lunches were being served either so we had to turn up and take pot luck. It was only drinks and cakes bar a sausage roll or a slice of quiche. The sausage roll had mustard in which the kids wouldn’t eat and they are not quiche fans either but this is strange times! The homemade cakes and coffee where lovely and there was a great selection, we were just a bit disappointed we couldn’t buy lunch. Lovely spot to sit and convenient for lovely walks. Between Christmas and New Year, we went for a log walk on Saturday along the coast and through Silverdale - I'd heard about Wolfhouse and decided to ensure that we'd arrive there at lunchtime. It was a lovely sunny day, and if we hadn't arrived on the dot of 12pm we'd have had to sit outside in their lovely garden (which may have been a bit chilly). However, luckily there was a table free for all 6 of us, so we were able to eat in the warm and cosy cafe. The Wolfhouse serves breakfasts all day, along with a hearty selection of options including soups and hot and cold delights, suiting both meat eaters and vegetarians in our party. I chose an avocado, bacon and poached egg bun, with a pot of Irish breakfast tea - no teabags at Wolfhouse! When I saw the breakfast that one of our more hungry walkers selected, I was slightly envious as it looked rather scrumptious. Orders are placed at the counter, and we were impressed by the speed of service. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and was restored for the second half of the walk.By the time we'd finished walking, we were all famished again and felt that it would be rude not to drive back to the cafe for cake and coffee. I chose a salted caramel chocolate brownie with my latte; both were just right. I noticed that the other coffee options looked well baristaed (if that's a word) ... with an appropriate level of crema and decoration.

We used to visit the cafe at the Wolf House Gallery regularly when living in the area, and were on a return visit to see relatives this winter. Very sad to see that the little cafe was looking rundown and in need of a thorough cleanse. Staff were fine, if a little 'switched off', but only a very small pot of loose leaf tea (insufficient leaves for the proper infusion) despite high price (for the area) of £2.50 per cup - and a paltry sized piece of cake. Such a disappointment as many years ago the café was run by an enthusiastic wife & husband team.

There's something about this place that just has a warm, relaxing and friendly atmosphere. After we got chatting with the owners, we found out you can hire the beachhouse for events, and yesterday we had the most wonderful day for our daughters first birthday. It was such a special day, made perfect by the amazing people who run wolfhouse. Our every need was completely taken care of. The food was just incredible and I've had so many guests commenting on how delicious it was (I'm still getting messages through now saying how good it was) and the day ran seamlessly. Perfect setting as the kids could play inside or outside and we were able to decorate the beachhouse with balloons and banners. They were happy for us to set up a playpen for the smaller babies and nothing was too much trouble. Just blown away with how accommodating they were with all our needs and can't recommend them enough! They really did work so hard to make our day perfect for us and create a memory we will cherish. Fancied a pizza but only choice of 3 and over 10 pounds each though very nice. I had one with garlic mushrooms ,goats cheese and spinach and other half had one with smoked salmon and spinach/capers. Shared mussels to start with and had one side salad(very small for I think 4 pound 50). Wine served in small tumblers but I can see why with slats in tables so spillage avoided. One drink each and it came to over 50 pounds. Only one dessert available - surely they have some cakes left from during the day and they may then get more sales? Will we go back - perhaps duringthe day for coffee/cake or snack but probably not on an evening

Tucked away at Gibraltar, Silverdale, the cafe is an absolute delight. Efficiently run by new(ish) owners, there is a pleasant indoors and a delightful outdoors courtyard with a play area for children. We have been three times in the last two weeks. We dropped in for coffee and cake - and wonderful home made sausage rolls. In a new venture, the cafe has taken over a former studio which is now the Beach House - a large wooden hut at the rear of the cafe. This has been transformed into a delightfully informal eatery serving wood fired pizzas and local fish. The food is simple and delicious. Drinks are available. This may be the village's best kept secret. Check for opening times.

On a sunny day, the location is great. Close to Silverdale and nice walks and super handy if your staying at Gibraltar farm campsite. The food though i feel has gone a little down hill. We don't live too far away and have visited a number of times in the past, but i feel that the food has dropped off and is a tad overpriced. The addition of a pizza 'shack' is a good idea, however we ordered 3 pizza's which while being tasty, were all burnt, one of which was verging on inedible. Coffee is good, but they do always seem to run out of cakes, so i can't comment on those. Little kids play area is also nice as is the gallery, but overall i feel like we will give the cafe a miss next time we are around and bring a flask and picnic. Shame.

Had been recommended to this cafe by friends. Was not at all disappointed. We stopped by after walking a few miles along the coast in Silverdale one Saturday morning. It was quite busy and there was a really homely feel. We had coffee and cake and were so impressed with the cakes on offer that we ordered more ( well it was quite a long walk!). Staff were really pleasant and our dog Frankie was made to feel just as welcome as we were. Will definitely visit again.

Just dropped into the wolfhouse this afternoon.Fabulous range of imaginative cakes, all f shich are baked in-house, and the best coffee I've tasted in a long time. A warm friendly and relaxed atmosphere , the perfect end to a walk in one of the most picturesque villages in the North of England.

Used to love coming here but recently seems to have gone backwards. Slow service (45 mins wait for a sausage sandwich) and poor coffee - sent first round back but staff really not happy to remake. Second lot of coffees no better - virtually cold. Real shame - used to be lovely.

The Wolf House is on full song with a great little menu, fantastic food and a lovely atmosphere. We love it here and the summer weekend evening BBQs are something not to be missed. It’s a great place to set off from or end up in for a wonderful walk around Jenny Brown’s Point and up to Jack Scout, or a gentle saunter around the quaint and truly lovely art gallery of Janet McGloine. This is a real treat - one of many in this lovely village.

Lovely little cafe, perfect for a cycle ride stop, with delicious food and friendly atmosphere. We are regular customers and never disappointed. Yes of course the food choice will be limited if you come late on a busy day, because it's freshly made on the premises so factor it in to your plans if that's a problem to you.

Situated next to the Gallery the restaurant offers refreshments that are more light than substantial. The choice of pastries and light lunches is imaginative but will not be to everyone's taste. A large selection of teas and coffees are available to complement food offerings. The venue can become very busy and space can be limited. Pets are welcome. Seating does not encourage long sittings!! Parking can be tricky.

We visited Wolfhouse on a friend's recommendation and we were looking forward to having lunch there. We arrived during a very busy period, 2pm on a Saturday afternoon just after a group of 30+ had finished hot drinks, so I imagine that the staff were playing catch up with other customers. However, we were disappointed to see that there was a limited menu of 4 items - soup and 3 types of sandwich. When we were ready to order, I went to the counter and was asked quite abruptly if I could wait 5 minutes to order. Fine. I sat down and watched as 4 people went to the counter and ordered their meals. We left and it's unlikely that we will return which is a shame as we only live 10 minutes away.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime. We had to wait some time for the food, however it didn’t disappoint when it arrived. The mashed avocado with bacon and egg on toasted bread was delicious and the eggs benedict was also very good.

I went to Wolfhouse for lunch with my family as I was incredibly sick . however I was horrified as they seemed to have forgotten our meal that was simple to make for 45 mins which didn’t help my illnesss and then once reminded the order came wrong. Without a apology the food got removed quickly and a plate came back. However this food was incredibly salty as if the chef had purposely made it inedible. This made me very sick. We ended up leaving without eating. This was a horrible meal with bad service. Would never go again

The Wolfe house appears to concentrate on its image rather than its food. It’s a quirky place with lots of tables and chairs for outside eating and has an indoor area which resembles more of a craft shop than a restaurant. It doesn’t have any competition so prices are high for what they serve and serve yourself glasses which you would expect to see grannies teeth in certainly don’t match the prices. I think it’s one of those place to tick off and go and see but with regards to racing back I don’t think so.

Since moving to Silverdale The Wolf & Us Cafe has become one of our favourite places to visit. They have a fantastic seasonal brunch menu, a great range of cakes and a White Hot Chocolate that is to die for The setting is absolutely stunning with the shore minutes away, plenty of outdoor seating and they are dog friendly!! Which is a massive plus for us and our inseparable dog.

I’ve visited the The Wolfhouse several times over the past couple of years and always enjoyed the peaceful picturesque location, the cafe and gallery both have a sweet botanical feel and interior. The staff are always helpful and friendly and despite not residing in Silverdale something about being at The Wolfhouse always feels homely.

We went with some friends for apparently a bbq! We arrived at 6pm and all seemed good we got are tickets for the bbq and we got told there was 2 sittings which we wasn’t aware of and that we had to leave at 8pm. We went for the food and the salads look good and then went for the meat on the bbq but it was all cooked in the oven inside and was literally but on the bbq for 5-10 second. We was told we could only have 2 pieces of meat the chicken was well over cooked and dry and the (sausage) was just ok. So as it was advertised as a bbq it was clearly not. Would not recommend

We enjoyed our 2nd visit today. The weather was very sunny but there were cool and shaded areas aplenty. The staff are really pleasant, helpful and patient. A mum left a double buggy in the way for 10 minutes and the waitress worked round this. The food was fresh, tasty, attractively served and reasonably priced. We had nice stuff to read and I bought a bracelet to boot!! Nice one!

Unbelievably disappointed this morning went for something for breakfast staying in the area , asked what vegetarian option there was “poached eggs “ this was meant to be part of bacon , poached eggs and avocados on toast for £7.50 , overpriced in the first place and considering I only had poached eggs on toast this still cost me £7.50. Loud group of local men in , swearing whilst children present during their conversation . Not the hidden gem we were expecting

We held my husbands birthday here on a beautiful Saturday evening in May. New owners Ed and Jen couldn’t have been more accommodating. We had the exclusive use of the venue and were able to bring our own drink. Ed’s salads were reminiscent of Ottolenghi’s, the meats and bread were all sourced locally, the puddings were divine. The location of the venue is magical, a stones throw from the most wonderful bay view, and the sunset completed what was a memorable evening. Thank you both and good luck with the new fish and pizza restaurant.

We originally found this place whilst it was under previous ownership but we’ve continued to love it as much as before, perhaps more so! Gorgeous log fires in Winter and picnic benches in Summer.
