Booked a table online. Turns out the place is closed and looks like it has been for some time🙄

Second time of dining here. First time was great, this time , no service, waited one hour for a bowl of bred between eight of us . Rest of the food, chef special, not! Fried stuff over cooked, never again

Cremated terrible meal, worst meal I've had in years. The food was burnt beyond belief, I will never ever come here again. Disgusting don't waste your money or time.

We arrived at 19:50 on a Saturday and there wasn’t many table in but there was loads and loads of glasses everywhere!!! We booked for tapas as been before and it was lovely although this occasion was awful !!! They don’t take your orders, when we ordered drinks the glasses were filthy!! Get new dishwashers!! And we went to sit down listening to people that had been waiting for some tapas since 18:30!! That is ridiculous as they weren’t busy! Also what place nowadays doesn’t have WIFI???? Get with times you used to have WiFi! I said to staff are you behind he said yes and I said well why not tell people coming in to eat ! You’re nearly hour and half behind! And let me make choice whether spend money there or not! Poor service,

Not great, clearly over trading as we waited ages to be served then over an hour and a half for food. When it arrived most was deep fried, maybe that was our selection. We got a complementary sweet to share and that was deep fried as well served with squirty cream. Seats were very tatty as well, We wont be going back.

Absolutely wicked pub... Food here is ridiculously good, I kid you not! Love this place, lovely lil town great people. Anytime I'm in there area I will stop in here for a cheeky pint & some food. Saturday night Tapas & a few drinks you cannot beat it 😋😊

Visited the white swan for Sunday lunch and was yet again very disappointed. Dry meat tinned peas, tasteless swede and burnt stuffing. Will not be returning.

Friendly welcome, felt a bit short staffed. Went for Sunday lunch we had roasts and Tapas. Menu availability was limited on Tapas and no vegan sausages but offered extra veggies which worked. Well cooked, good portion, great Yorkshire pud. Couple of Ales, well kept and presented. Will def be back.

I haven’t been yet -just want to see the menu on the website and it keeps looping back to ‘book a table’ so won’t be getting my custom.

Really disappointing. Food was not a good standard. Waitress later told us they cook from frozen. £88 for two drinks and tapas is extortionate. The only positive for us was the the lady that served us, very friendly and attentive. First visit and will be our last.

First time at the white swan this evening and well what else can you say other than amazing very friendly staff and the food was better than the Spanish tapas we had on holiday. Highly recommend you will see us again

Came here a little while back for a drink and after looking at the menu I knew I had to come book for food. Me & my partner had a lovely evening, the atomsphere is cosy & warm of a rustic little pub with a good selection of modern drinks. The food was all delicious with a decent amount of selection to keep everyone happy. Looking at some of the negative reviews, people don't seem to understand that tapas is generally a little more expensive as you're having such a variety of different foods; however I thought the price was pretty on point for what we had. Both wait and bar staff were all friendly and inviting. Although a little slow, this didn't bother me one bit as there were a few larger tables as well as a party. A bigger restaurant this may of bothered me, but with the size and amount of staff, I thought they did a great job of getting us all served and in a prompt manner.

Brilliant Sunday dinner, visited as a family of 4. 3 adult dinners and 1 toddler dinner. All meals were massive, so much veg, loads of meat and gravy. Really worth the money. We had all 3 courses and couldn’t fault anything. Would 100% recommend. Have also visited in the evening and sat outside playing pool and drinking. Great atmosphere and friendly chatty staff. Jo, Michael and the team do a fantastic job! Well done.

We booked the table for a Thursday evening it was lovely and quiet only one other table eating, got our drinks straight away quick service no issues there. We order 10 dishes for £45 as we usually do - we have visited the white swan on several occasions over the last 5 years and always loved the food! The menu is always changing you still get your favourites in there however this time it had a lot of sea food which I do not eat so found it more difficult to find dishes to order. The food came out warm we enjoyed most of the dishes - halloumi, Greek Chicken and patatas bravas were stand outs - however some lacked any flavour which was disappointing - stuffed peppers and chorizo - overall a nice evening

Great concept, but must be chaos in the kitchen. We waited 2 hours for food and didn’t get the choices we made as they said they’d ran out of some items! The menu is a very confusing tick list which must be a nightmare for the kitchen staff to decipher! It’d be easier if someone just took your order and passed what you want to the kitchen. Think the rule of thumb is you pick 5 dishes each so a table of 8 would get 40 dishes! So a full restaurant ordering 5 dishes each can only equal chaos in the kitchen! Love the idea and there’s some nice little dishes in there but don’t think they can live up to the expectation… greeted by a very moody young girl who made no attempt to inform us of what was happening in the 2 hour wait but won’t be back…. Probably ok if you go on a weekday we went on a Saturday night.

I was really looking forward to coming here after seeing pictures online of the tapas which looked great. Unfortunately it was one of the worst experiences we’ve had at a restaurant in a very long time. We were met by a rude waitress who sat us down and then pretty much ignored us the whole night. We waited 30 minutes just to get some menus, and then had to go up to the bar to go and tell them what we wanted because nobody came back to our table. We were then left waiting about 2 hours for our food. No apology, not one person checked on us the whole time or came to update us. We continually asked how long our food would be to just be told we are next. We were told our food was cooking and would be a few minutes, for the chef to then come out a few minutes later and tell us half of what we ordered wasn’t actually available anymore. We really wanted to just leave but it was so late and we were so hungry nowhere else would have been open. The chef did come out and apologise and was very pleasant - the waiting staff however need major training because the customer service from them was really poor. The tapas we did receive was fine but a bit disappointing that a lot of it wasn’t what we even wanted to eat. A massive shame because it really is a nice concept but we definitely won’t be coming back or recommending.

3 words: Expensive, boring, basic I was recommended this place by a colleague so had high hopes but from the moment we walked in I knew it wasn’t going to be what I thought it was. Service was nonexistent, food was fine and the bill at the end was way higher than it should of been. The food was fine but that’s all. No a lot for the price they are charging. They have the deals which where we did 3 dishes for £14.50 but then on 99% of the meat options they put a supplement charge on top! Makes no sense at all. We had 6 dishes, 1 cider and 1 coke and paid £38 total. Wouldn’t recommend or go back as it’s really not worth the money. Never been in, sat down and left so quickly. 40 minutes for meal!

Absolutely amazing Tapas. We ordered 10 dishes between 2 of us. There was loads of food, which was delicious, great service and a fabulous atmosphere . Looking forward to another visit very soon.

Visited with family this evening for the first time and we all enjoyed ourselves. What to expect: this is a traditional village pub and as such, it is not part of a chain and has a cozy feel. The decor is pleasant, though the toilets could do with a makeover. There are some really attractive flower baskets and a nice outdoor seating area too. The staff are friendly, but be aware that ordering drinks is probably best done at the bar as there aren't waiting staff readily available. Most importantly, the food: we ordered a variety of tapas dishes - some were nicer than others, some were more generous in portion size than others. Some stand out dishes were the meatballs, the patatas bravas, the souvlaki and the gambas pil pil. However, I wouldn't recommend the chorizo because there wasn't enough of it and nor the croquettes because they were tasteless, probably frozen and not homemade. So, price wise, some dishes I would say were very reasonable and others were not worth the money...it is always hit and miss when each dish is the same price (some have supplements added on). Would we go again? Yes. It is a nice change to have tapas in a pub rather than the same old menu choices. Give it a go.

Lovely evening with friends on Friday, chef was amazing even accommodated for the 3 children we had with us wich was so nice of her , was a lovely night with amazing food 🥰

Went to party here on Sunday. It was fantastic! Good atmosphere and the Sunday lunch was absolutely first class!

After reading some positive reviews, we were looking forward to our first visit. Table booked on line for 8pm. Welcoming bar staff on arrival. Selection on menu limited due to a number of dishes having 'run out' (see photo) we chose our options from the limited choice, worth mentioning at this.point, that a number of the dishes come with a supplement charge. As noone came to collect our order, we returned it to the bar. Some.time after, the waitress came to us to tell us one of our selected options was no longer available and asked of we would like to choose something else, which we did. After a further lengthy wait, the food arrived, which was well presented but small in quantity (see photo) and overall mediocre. The waitress offered us a free desert due to our long wait. Initially this was seen as a nice gesture but when asked if we would like 2 forks, it just added insult to injury. Had we both not been waiting?!? I asked the waitress why we were only offered 1 free desert between the 2 of us when the couple behind us had been given 2 free deserts. She pointed out that they had ordered deserts but had a long wait for them?!?! Had we not had a long wait for our mains which she had pointed out?? .... At this point we realised that our choice for the evening, to celebrate a special occasıon had been an overall disappointment and we wouldn't be returning

It's was a little quiet but we really enjoyed the tapas, just something different in a lovely village, we really enjoyed our visit, the young guy behind the bar was very friendly.

Came with my son as a treat for tapas. Ordered 3 choices each and to be honest the food was not great. Having had tapas before found ourselves comparing to other places and was disappointed with the food. Prawns/calamari were deep fried for too long, Will not be going back

Decided on tapas instead of traditional Sunday lunch and WOW! It was amazing!! Everything freshly cooked and piping hot and so incredibly tasty. Lovely garden. And dining area.

We ordered at 5.20pm after having to go find someone to take our order board. At 5.55pm we were given our plates and told food wouldn't be long. 20 minutes later, still no food. I asked the server how long it would be and she said it's 'just being cooked now we have our plates', and the wait would be another 5 minutes. I informed the server that we were told that the food wouldn't be long when given the plates, and she kept repeating that it's the next one. I indicated that I had a toddler with me who was hungry by now (there's a reason we booked an early table) and she told me she had been babysitting all day, had jumped in a taxi and just got there...I'm not really sure what that had to do with the fact that I'm waiting for food with a hungry toddler? Food finally arrived at 6.20pm, an hour and twenty minutes after we booked a table. The food itself was average, and we paid a subsidiary fee for the two chicken skewer dishes, which came with 1 skewer on, very stingy when the dishes are made for sharing, which we were disappointed with. Bread was stale and the patatas bravas were hard. No-one came to check if everything was okay with the food either. We haven't been since before the pandemic so were looking forward to coming as the food and service used to be incredible! Such a shame that this place has gone down hill so much and it's unlikely we will be back.

Was out watching cricket and instead of a sunday dinner we fancied tapas due to the heat. So around 13.00 we booked at the white swan ockbrook for 17.15, we ate here a few yrs ago and loved it, was my first of many since tries of tapas.. WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING. On arrival we were showed to our seats and we went to the bar to order drinks, The lady serving us told another member of staff that we had arrived ( food finishes at 18.00) who had no idea, we heard the chef moaning. We were given a sunday roast menu and explained we wanted the tapas, to be told that unless we stipulate when booking that we want tapas the lanlady wont serve it. We explained we didnt know they did anything else, and they allowed us to have it I WISH THEY HADNT. We were told that due to the kitchen being 40° the chef was taking more breaks and our food would be around 40 minutes, we can live with that as it was a hot day.. It took 1hr and 20 minutes for it to arrive It was ALL deep fried, over cooked and tasteless. The potatas bravas were basically cubed chips with tomato sauce on them. I think the supplier must be iceland as im sure it was all frozen rubbish. Does it take a hr and 20 to deep fry calamari rings, and a few other bits?. THe staff werent great either, the table next to us had all spilled food on it and the whole hour and 45 we were there it wasnt cleaned. As soon as we finished we wanted to get our bill and go as we really wasnt impressed at all, no staff around, so i popped near to the kitchen to ask if we could pay, the girl came out and her exact words were.... "whats up" She didnt know how to work the till so got the barmaid who asked if everything was ok apart from our wait, we said no not really we didnt enjoy it at all, her response... "oh, sorry to hear that" not ask why or offer any discount. young children behind the bar, ( aged around 10 ) listening to staff going on about fag breaks, other staff shouting about hot dogs and burgers ( must of been a bbq in the garden ) Staff... not great Food .. terrible Waiting time... disgusting Cleanliness... non whilst we were there. Will we return??? NOT A CHANCE Price . 10 dishes for £45... good price, if good food. Cant see many people returning if this is the service provided.

Booked here for 7 people on Saturday evening for our adult family to celebrate my husbands birthday. Plenty of choice of various tapas dishes, all well cooked & presented. One of our party is Spanish & she was very impressed with everything she tasted. The staff who took our order & served the food were very pleasant & explained everything to us. The man on the bar was very customer-focussed, too. For us, the only (minor) negative comment is that we could have done with some serving forks for the dishes & also some knives to cut up some of the food to taste/share. In hindsight, we should have asked for these & will definitely do this next time we eat here.

Booked for Sunday lunch, upon arrival was told someone was sitting at our table and we'd have to wait then it was decided we could sit at another table, a staff member was sent to clear the table for us, tutting and rolling her eyes at the inconvenience, she cleared the table but neglected to wipe it. My wife asked about the vegetarian option to be told there wasn't one so asked if the kitchen could do a Sunday lunch but just without the meat and a veggie gravy, then was told they deep fry the roasties but couldn't say what they were cooked in so she opted for the vegetable soup with roll and butter and a portion of halloumi with chilli jam. The soup was served, no roll or butter, asked for some salt & pepper and for the roll with butter, waited, waited, waited, then my Sunday roast was served, no sauces were offered, then they brought the halloumi, no cutlery to eat it with, still waiting for the salt & pepper and a piece of bread, the end bit of a loaf which was dry on one side, still no butter, asked AGAIN for the salt & pepper which finally came in the form of those little sachets, they were damp! The soup was Heinz vegetable soup from a tin, the bread was dry, no butter! The halloumi with chilli jam was ok. The service was appalling. Overall the experience was awful, we were not made to feel welcome at all especially compared to the service given to the table beside us! Will never be returning, shocking the way we were treated, so much for a nice meal out 🙄

A cracking olde-worlde pub. Big car park. Big outside bar and seating area. Lovely cosy inside bars and dining areas. Two or more real ales at the twin bars. Choice of Tapas or traditional roast food. All very nice.

Been a few times, but most recently was for new year 2023. Family run pub very friendly and welcoming. Lovely tapas and great selection of beers.

The food quality is very good. It’s not a proper Spanish tapas restaurant but you get the feeling specially if you’re craving for that kind of food as we were. The service was a bit weird. We didn’t feel welcomed from the start and whenever we wanted to order something extra we were told that might not Be possible because they were expecting to be full after 1900. Bear in mind that this was 1830 and we got there at 1800 and we had booked the table on the previous day for 1800 and we’re told to book any time we wanted as there was plenty of availability. The girl ended up bringing the menu but we just didn’t feel welcomed to order more. At the end we were charged more because they didn’t care looking into what was ordered. It’s not for the 3 pound extra but the principle of it… won’t be back for sure and it’s a shame because the food is very well prepared and the chef knows his business. I hope this review is taken by the pub management as a constructive criticism and everyone else has a better experience than we had.

Visited with friends for the tapas. Choice, quantity and quality was decent for the price. No cutlery provided though and no napkins either. Just a selection of small forks with the dishes which weren't suitable for all the food types to be honest.

A lovely village pub nestled in the heart of Ockbrook. Looks very pretty and inviting with lamps warmth and delicious food. The Sunday roast is lovely. Service was very good and friendly. A while back they had entertainment like quizzes readings etc Highly recommend 🤩🦢

Went on a Sunday with six other family members. Did go for the tapas, but because of the demand over the weekend, there wasn't so much choice. But still a good selection. Sunday roasts are big, even the children's size. Some nice ale's and larger on tap. Friendly staff, not long to wait for meals. Good size outdoor garden, and play area. Been many times before and will go again.

We arrived here having left the other local pub which had felt like a cross between a dog kennel and a childcare centre. Initially a bit disappointed to realise that we could only get tapas. But the two young girls waitressing guided us through it...

One of the best home cooked style sunday roasts I've had in a long time. Lots of veg and meat was delicious. Great value for money.

Party of 6 enjoyed a leisurely Sunday lunch at the Swan. No fuss, no rush just cosy friendly atmosphere. Good food, good portion size. Good selection of nice beers, rums and whiskies which kept us there for a good while after we had finished eating....

Lovely evening: laid back, pub atmosphere but with a cosy restaurant feel, great service, friendly and attentive staff and absolutely fantastic food. Reasonably priced for the quality, too. Wine could be a little better but a number of decent beers/ciders on draught. Not been for years but it lived up to the memories/expectation 🥰 thanks for a lovely night!

We saw the White Swan as we were passing by and stopped on the off chance they had space for us which thankfully they did. It was nice to see a pub doing something different for a change from the normal. The menu was different and fairly priced. We tried different foods like Artichoke which we never had before and it was very tasty. All in all a 10 out of 10. The staff were very helpful also.

Worst sangria ever tasted. Booked a table outside as we thought it may be busy, didn’t confirm until late , so we ate elsewhere,. Young girls face changed when we didn’t order food and she gave us daggers all night

We really enjoyed tapas at the White Swan. There was a varied selection of food and lots for vegetarians. We especially enjoyed the falafel and my partner liked the cod bites. Food was served promptly and it was presented well. We liked the chilled atmosphere...

Visiting this cozy restaurant after refurbishment and it looks great. Beer garden and new decking amazing for summer. Food is delicious and quite wide range of beers, ales and ciders. It’s a shame that Staropramen beer was taken off but there is still plenty to choose. There are all flavours of AU vodka. Staff is friendly and place is very clean and tidy. Will definitely recommend and we sure visit again soon

Had our first Sunday dinner at the swan since it’s reopened and it was lovely. Meat was moist and roast potatoes were delicious. Staff also very friendly. Tapas is also the best around.

Booked into this place today for x2 adults and x2 children. On arrival at 15:00 we was told there was only 2 kids items available on the kids menu. Both items our children wouldn’t eat. Asked if there was any chance the kitchen could cook...

Poor, terrible customer service, no effs given. Awful. Avoid We chose there due to the fantastic looking Sunday lunches and the fact there was a childrens menu that ran alongside it, got there to be told that only two of the Childrens dishes were available...

What a great Pub ... First time we have been there for years ... We had lunch and a drink . The steak pie I had was the best pie I have ever had, what a meal that was .. we will definitely be back .. landlord l, landlady and staff were just so lovely ...

We saw the post regarding the refurbishment and we’re quite looking forward to seeing the end results, we regularly checked Facebook for an update but nothing….we visited this evening and we were greeted by opinionated locals voicing their opinions of “dogs yapping”, quite unnecessary in our opinion, then we waited to be served only to be met by a young inexperienced member of staff who didn’t either acknowledge me or use any manners during service, on my way into the beer garden a local asked me to seek the door prop as the door had closed ????? Overall extremely poor experience through bad service and locals running the show we won’t be coming back !!!!!!!!!!!

What an amazing place, bar and serving staff were exceptional. The food was to die for, we all had roast dinners and a pudding plus a drink and it was value for money. Good luck with the refit we will be back.

We went yesterday for our wedding anniversary and my birthday .It's a long time since we've been ,but having read the reviews we decided to give it a go .The food was absolutely fabulous .We had 10 tapas dishes for sharing and churros for dessert .As avid visitors to Spain over the years ,we have eaten a lot of Tapas over the years but can honestly say these are as good as any we've had in Spain .All freshly cooked ,hot and well presented .The owner was so friendly and took the time out of her busy schedule to chat to us ..Every part of this meal and service ,hospitality was exemplary and it is our new favourite place x

What can I say the food is just delicious. I wanted to try tapas and I don’t regret it at all. My husband and son had a roast and their plates were demolished, they really enjoyed it. Warm atmosphere, pleasant staff. Definitely will visit again

Extremely busy causing a slow serving of Sunday Lunch but when it arrived it was worth the wait. A very tasty and well cooked meal with a full plate with plenty of variety. It is essential to book in advance. Will visit again when in the area.
