Great selection of beer. Stuart smashed it tonight with great service.

Stuart is one of the best bartenders i’ve ever met. so charismatic and enjoyable to be around. Excellent service, also devilishly handsome. 10/10 would come here again.

The dashing young man behind the bar stole my heart. He was polite, kind and articulate. His hairline was immaculate. I wish we could’ve spoken more. It’s a shame he can’t pour a Guinness.

We used to enjoy drinking in this boozer but now it's not so great. £6.45 for a Guinness, the attitude of the barman with the glasses is a joke. Doesn't speak and slams the pint down without looking at you. The unit itself is looking tired and the outdoor space , which was once a brilliant beer garden is looking shabby and unloved. The 'spoons up the road is friendlier and a hell of a lot cheaper without the attitude.

Haven't been here in 2 years. Its gone downhill. Beer garden out the back is not returfed so instead of grass its….muck. Chicken Burger wasn't a burger. It was two separate pieces of chicken. Not entirely sure - chicken tenders? Gen Z behing the bar was awful. Eye rolling, entitled and couldn't even tell me which condiments they had without an attitude problem. I was a bar tender and if I behaved like that I would have been given a warning. Pitiful. Won't be back.

Our favourite pub for football. The team are great and the vibes are good

Food is never on until evening now. I can't review it as I've forgotten what it tastes like. The service really depends on who serves you. I've had people with faces like sucked lemons, one who was cheerful, one who seemed high. The beer is NOT well kept. I only order wine. Pity, as it is a decent and spacious venue. - No need to reach out : you've had reviews like mine for years saying all the same things. If you gave a stuff, you would have fixed it by now 😉

Bar staff were sound but if you’re booking to watch football and get a table outside, bear in mind they don’t play the sound in the garden because of the neighbours (hundreds of football fans singing is fine though 🤔 )

Great garden, spacious. It now has a pool table which can be fully lit but most of the time only has one led light, shame. Costs are costs these days.

We hired a room for the Euros and the manager couldn't have been more helpful. It was such a great environment to be watching the England game, and the prices are really fair and they have a good choice in drinks!!!

My partner, baby and I went here for a friends birthday party and had an awful experience with the bouncer. We were there at 8pm and the bouncer explained that there was no kids past 8pm. We said that was fine and politely explained that we’ll just get the baby ready to go - the bouncer kept harassing us to leave and stop feeding our baby.

Visited after walking from Highgate on The Capital Ring. Excellent ale and a lovely pub garden.

Garden used to be nice but now feels very unloved and slightly post apocalyptic. Staff are impressively rude and seem to be competing over who can be the most dismissive, unhelpful and pretentious

The ‘Cumberland’ sausages on the bangers n mash here are laughable. The sort of thing you feed a fussy toddler. Fries were ok.

Been here a few times, though feel out of place with all the young hippies. What me off was the smell of acetone recreational drugs around young kids.

Drinks were fine and the food acceptable.

It was jacks birthday today. He’s so welcoming. Never met the man but I felt his aura down to the bottom of my lager. This place has that god touch you can’t shake off.

Unprofessional. I asked if the kitchen was open and they said it wasn’t. This was a lie as mins later other people asked for food and even the waitress apologised, saying about it was a mistake, offering me to ask for food before 10 pm that the kitchen closed. However, when I asked for it at counter at 21:55 it was rejected. How can the services close before they say announce it will?

I'm getting old. If not old already. Young crowd around. Well presented. They had Beer and that's all I had this time. Bring friends. Large beer garden but not as cosy as I hoped.

This is a lovely indoors pub, and it has a previously incredible garden space which unfortunately has become a scruffy letdown. The grass has pretty much all gone so you’re left with dusty mud covered in cigarette butts; the tables have seen far better days; the vast majority of people outside smoke, so non-smokers have to endure second-hand cancer smoke which ruins the whole experience. Why not designate one side to smokers and one to non? Such a grand space deserves better TLC but doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen.

The only thing that's great about this place is the spacious outdoor area. Beyond that, it's tired, the staff couldn't care less about service and seem generally depressed, and the food is below average. Also, if you like a good selection of beer, this place isn't for you. Expect Amstel.

Waited almost an hour for food. Only one waiter for the whole pub. People that seated 20 minutes later than us got their food 20 minutes earlier. Very noisy pub which, mixed with the football muffled noise from the various speakers makes for a very headachy environment on an empty stomach. Definitely not coming to eat here again, particularly on a Sunday.

The only thing that beats the customer service from Lauren, Athena & Charlie is the Sunday roasts! I will definitely be back.

My new local without a doubt, lots of character inside and out with the fireplace making us feel right at home. the team will go out of their way for you and service has always been very good. haven't been out in the garden yet, but have heard its also lovely.

The chicken roast was delectable. Perfectly cooked roast potatoes, the best leeks I’ve had, with succulent, generously endowed chicken. One of the best roasts I’ve had in this city

considering how expensive the pub is you would expect a lot more. Seriously minging toilets - average food . Plenty of much nicer pubs that are worth the price. Beer garden is lovely in summer but that’s about the only redeeming factor. Rose and Crown, The Brownswood or the army and navy are much nicer…

This was of the worst roasts I've ever had. £20 for a pan-fried piece of cheap beef topped with Bisto gravy. Utterly rubbish. Never again.

When a place remembers for your second round who asked for a tankard and who asked for a regular pint glass, a amall thing that shows service is something they pride themselves in. Good bitter on tap, decent range of other beers. Very nice vibe, a pub you can feel at home in.

Massive shoutout to the team at The White Hart! We had our daughters 1st bday party in their private room and were so happy with the care and service we got from Charlie and his team. Everyone was super helpful and attentive. Highly recommended.

They had my favourite non-alcoholic Italian drink called Crodino. As a teetotal person, it was great to see such a selection on the menu and reminded me of holidays in Italy.

🚇 Rectory Road 🍺 £5.25 Amstel ❤️ An historic big old N16 boozer. . The White Hart is situated amongst a mix of cafes, bars and independent shops on bustling Stoke Newington High Street. The nearest station is Rectory Road Overground which is a five minute walk away. . There has been a pub on this site since the mid 17th century. The current building was built by Charringtons in the 1851, check out those beautiful glazed Victorian tiles. . This is big old high ceilinged boozer, it has a large main bar plus a snug complete with working fireplace. At the centre of everything is a cheery horseshoe shaped servery. At the rear of the pub is a good size beer garden which is a popular spot with the N16 locals. The decor here is a rustic affair, there is an eclectic assortment of tables and chairs, 70’s print wallpaper plus exposed brickwork. There are a few screens dotted about which show live sport and a nice addition is the pinball machine of which I am a fan. . The beer line up was pretty good and had a bit of something for everyone. I’d been on the Amstel all day so I stuck with that, my pint was decent and reasonably priced at just over a fiver. There is a simple pub grub menu available, Fish & Chips costs £14. On Sundays you can get a roast here, a Chicken roast costs £17. . We arrived just after 3pm as we continued our St Patrick’s Day crawl around Stoke Newington. The pub was quiet, maybe this was due to the lack of diddly diddly going on as in other close by boozers. We were served by a lively fella who I presume was the Guv’nor, nice fella, very chatty. This pub has quiz nights on a Wednesday, shows live sport and there is an upstairs room for hire to arrange a celebration. . This pub receives mixed reviews, from what I have read these vary from the grass is too long in the garden to someone was whistling on a Tuesday, Hipsters eh. I really enjoyed the_whitehart_official , it had a proper London pub feel plus it was great to see a big pub trading, most big pubs across the capital have been converted as they couldn’t be filled with punters. One of my favourite pubs in Hackney, it's a classic & beautiful Georgian-style pub. Inside the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I love the traditional decor and the cosy feel of the place. Even though it was busy, I managed to find a spot at the bar and was served quickly by the friendly staff. The thing that really stands out about this place is the beer garden - it's huge, easily the biggest in the area, It's a fantastic spot to spend a sunny afternoon with friends, enjoying a few drinks and soaking up the atmosphere, they have screens outside too for when there's a game on. Please bring back the pinball table! I used to come here more often just to play it

The staff was so kind and reactive today, they kept my lot items carefully from last night! We did have a good time indeed - had left things behind 😇! Thank you for looking after my ponies!

How this place is only rated 4.0 is perplexing. Lovely staff, really helpful and friendly. Excellent Sunday roast/lunch, open fire, dart board…really good value and a good place to depend a Sunday arvo. Would definitely come again.

Yeah good! Stokey is always a fun place to drink and the football coverage is great. Can sit and read on the sofa on a Sunday/play darts. It's a nice pub.

Transphobic and aggressive staff & security followed trans friend into the toilets. They were verbally abusive and hostile towards us. Horrible experience. Won’t be coming here again.

Good overall, quick service at the bar and good TV screens for everybody to watch their fav sport.. but something else has to be done with the space between tables and chairs with others around.. I was hitting the person behind me when wanting to stand up and viceversa..

A surprise pub this one, this has a large garden, which has no grass just earth?, in side was large with plenty of tables and chairs, food was being served but was pricey, drinks wise a good array of spirits and beer on tap 😉

Unfortunately this place is going down. Fast. Sadly they got rid of the natural grass in the garden and replace it with sand while filling the space with more tables. Tables are very dirty. The garden is full of rubbish. Staff is unattended. Such a shame. They had the best garden in Hackney.

Huge beer garden, decent prices for drinks too

What a disaster! This troublingly expensive bar isn't without its charm. 50% of people get what they order and it you're a gambler that's always worth a punt. The unlucky other half however have to make do with an empty table while the oblivious staff glide around like useless moths. The drinks ordering process is even haphazard, serving last to first, must be part of the charm! Food ordering is also a bizarre affair as one does feel a touch of the medieval market place: A grotesque masquerade of charlatans hawking barely low quality trash to the gullible and desperate. Avoid at all costs.

Nice pub with a big garden and lots of outside seating which is great for a sunny afternoon. The biggest part of the garden closes at 9pm though, and the pints are on the pricey side - but then again we are in Stoke Newington. I've not tried the food but it looks good! They do a really nice bloody Mary as well.

The White Hart used to be known for its garden. Still the largest outdoor pub space in n16 but terribly neglected. There is no grass or paving, just dirt floor that sends up huge dust clouds and leaves a layer of grime over everything. The Auld Shillelagh is the better bet for a garden.

Lovely evening spent in this little oasis.... the garden(s) have plenty of seating, with room to move about without bashing into other tables, which are regularly cleared of empties... The staff in this place are top drawer..welcoming, attentive professional while easy going. The bar snacks and food are always piping hot and very tasty.

Only popped in for a drink but the service was good and nice and airy with outside garden area

We booked called a few days prior to our visit to confirm if the pub would be showing the Formula 1 which they confirmed. We also booked a table online for the courtyard where we were told they would be showing the F1 and left a note on the booking to confirm once again. Once in the pub, we had to ask 3 times for the TV to be turned on. We asked the staff once again if they were showing the F1 and they said "Yes, there is nothing else on". As we were watching the race, the TV was switched to another channel (showing football) and we were not even asked if it would be ok to switch the channel. It was clear that our whole table was watching the F1 as well as other people in the courtyard. When we asked the manager, he said that he would not switch the TV back to the F1 and turn his back on us. It's a shame as this pub as a great courtyard and garden and good prices for drinks, but we ended up missing more than half of the race.

It's a great pub but today I had the worst meal ever. My burger was overcooked , the bacon was overcooked, chips were overcooked and the only edible thing were the onion, lettuce and tomato. Shocking.
