THE WELL BAR & GRILL in Limavady

Best food I’ve had since I arrived in Ireland 4 days ago and all the food we have had has been really good. We were driving from Sligo to Bushmills and decided to stop for some food and we couldn’t have stopped anywhere better. I had the Pepper Steak sandwich and my wife had the lasagna. So much but so delicious. Super friendly staff as well.

Had such an amazing meal tonight at the Well! First time trying the Mexican stack. It was so flavourful. Spicy but not too hot. I enjoyed every bite. The staff are always super friendly. Will be back soon! Thanks again for a lovely evening!

What a fantastic place. 27 of us visited on Saturday lunch time as we were there as part of a group who travelled from the UK for a Wedding on Friday and day 2 of the celebrations were being held in the large room upstairs. The staff were excellent and really polite and the food was fantastic, I had the pie of the day which was steak and veg, I have never seen so much steak in a pie and of course the Guinness was great, my wife had the steak sandwich, and my daughter had the burger and they were happy to remove some of the items as she is a fussy eater, both said their meals were excellent along with everyone else in the group. We later attended the 2nd part of the wedding weekend in the large room upstairs which was perfect. I would recommend anyone to eat and drink at the Well Bar & Grill if you are in the area, Great Staff and a Great Choice On The Menu Which Is Well Cooked & Presented.

Fabulous food. Tasty and cooked to perfection. Service was first class Between us we had the monkfish, steak pitta and beef cheeks. All delicious

Food was absolutely spot on, table of 10 of us, everyone had a fantastic meal, from fish to steaks and ribs, everything was cooked to perfection, plenty of sides and super service, highly recommend

We've been a few times for food and it never disappoints, yesterday was our first time trying the carvery and it was delicious. Great portions sizes, excellent choice from pork, fish, turkey etc and lovely friendly staff. All food is fresh, piping hot and the gravy and roast turkey are to die for. You can choose from 1, 2 or 3 courses and they accept walk-ins. We will most definitely be back.

We arrived and our food was out 10 minutes after we had orded. Steak was cooked to perfection. All in all a lovely meal and staff were brilliant. Thanks guys we will be back x

There are carvery restaurants that are average but this one, on this particular Sunday, was outstanding. Delicious roasts with choices of beef, chicken and pork. Lovely veggie plates for my daughter with the chef pointing out to her that the gravy was veggie friendly too. So much meat that many would find it difficult to finish as none of us did manage it. No problem as doggie boxes are available. Service was so professional but very friendly. Lovely restaurant with a slight art deco appearance, unusual for Northern Ireland. Looking for to our next visit.

Sunday carvery very well worth the visit. Lovely place inside and out. Staff very helpful and friendly. Make you feel very welcome.

Definitely the best food for miles around. Fabulous quality ingredients, fantastic presentation and very reasonable price. We eat out a lot and this pub/restaurant is by far the best around. We've never had a bad meal yet, it is head and shoulders above the rest. We have eaten in both the bar and restaurant and the food is the same quality as the restaurant. It never disappoints. 5 star food for pub prices. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Went for meal with my husband. Had the french cut pork with scallops and prawns. Was absolutely beautiful. The food was amazing and the staff friendly and helpful. Great restaurant. Will def be back.

It was a busy sunday we never booked and the well bar still fitted us in. Boy were we glad we stopped in, we honestly had the best meal of our life. From the presentation to the taste the food was something else. Also first class service from emma and never caught the name of the other young lady serving us. We will be back again (hopefully very soon) X

Went in for the carvery last Sunday, left not able to eat any more, superb food and as much as you can eat. Staff were very nice and a great price for such a huge amount of food, would definitely go again.

Had their carvery to won’t b back plates cold and food not hot said to waitress and her reply was yes a lot of people say food isn’t hot

One of the nicest steaks I have ever had with a choice of sauce (Ihad bushmills sauce- Carmel had pepper] washed down with a decent bottle of wine for £29. We made the mistake - if that’s appropriate- Of gorging up on starter.....so there was no room for dessert.....so another bottle of wine ordered......The rest is history.....and Carmel’s birthday is coming up.....

The food in the well is to die for....hard to get a table at weekends....recommend the Steaks deals although I’ve never been disappointed with the food However the bar isn’t as busy now as it used to be, perhaps it’s the range of beers, some regular favourites disappearing, perhaps it’s the clientele themselves and I see there’s a pool table now,there wasn’t before, and the juke box is no longer free. To be honest I think the beer is dear....hotel prices in a public bar.....however the entertainment on Saturday nights is brilliant....great live groups

Having been disappointed at a nearby restaurant/hotel, we called into The Well. The staff were excellent and the service friendly and quick. The menu was very good with something for everyone. Highly recommended.

We were in Limavady for a mini break and visited on a Tuesday evening and ordered for the 30% off menu (which I think runs Tues-Thurs evenings). This menu was incredible value. The serving staff were really lovely and very efficient, and the food was fantastic. Beautifully presented (amazing wee finishing touches such as pea shoots and edible flowers), beautifully cooked, obviously fresh. We had a fantastic meal. Portion sizes were very generous. I was particularly impresses by the gorgeous looking portions of freshly battered cod that arrived at a neighbouring table, but I was more than happy with my own choice 'cock and bull' - a steak and chicken breast combination, with tobacco onions, roasted cherry tomatoes and choice of sauce and side. So tasty. I had the 'Well Crunch' for dessert which was out of this world - large glass sundae bowl overflowing with ice-cream, fresh cream, meringues, homemade honeycomb chunks and chocolate and toffee sauce. I should have actually taken a picture! Scrumptious! Daughter had the chocolate fudge cake and thought it was gorgeous too. The quality and value was superb. I hope I will be back.

Four of had starters and mains here. It was my first time eating in The Well restaurant. I got the soup with bread to start, and salmon with garlic chips as a main. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the perfect amount of cabbage etc accompanied it. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I feel like the place needs some natural light as it was dark inside.

I have been here on a few occasions for lunch but only getting around to writing a review now. Service is very good, food is very good and venue and location is great for someone who looks for a good lunch close to where they work. I will be back whenever I get the opportunity again.

We eat here on regular basis and I can honestly say I have never been disappointed,food is cooked fresh and is always tasty and well presented.Staff are attentive and very helpful. would recommend it either for lunch or dinner 😊

The service in this bar was truly awful. Apart from being rude, the two bar staff walked out together for five minutes to have a smoke together, leaving the people at the bar waiting for drinks until they were done! Luckily the food was amazing, and the menu quite varied, otherwise we would have walked out

I have used the well many times and can not fault the food, the value for money and quality are second to none.

My husband and I have been to most of local eating venues. This one however is outstanding and has left a lasting impression. The decor is modern the atmosphere is great the staff are friendly the waiting time on food once you order is good the toilets are clean and the food is amazing n is served hot. Overall it is the best venue in the surrounding area and none comes even close.

Went to the well for a family dinner due to a birthday after it was recommended, superb food, portion size slightly large. Steak was cooked to perfection and no complaints from anyone else. Highly recommend!

My Aunt and I visited The Well Bar & Grill for an evening meal. The food was excellent and very tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the surroundings were lovely and clean and relaxing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

The choice is not great but the staff are friendly. Had some lunches here and are ok! I think they need to increase their menu.

The food is so tasty, and no end to how much ,a big eater it has to be here, or maybe just nibbles come and get it .the choice Is a very wide range , and the Sunday carvery oh my goodness the food is amazing. And the staff are always very welcoming and so helpful would have to say I recommend it and well priced

Attended the Well bar and grill in Ballykelly with a large family party. Celebrating a family member returning home from Canada. We had a prompt service with first class food from a very friendly staff. I would recommend that this a family friendly venue with tasteful decor and great value for money .

While visiting family in Northern Ireland we stopped at the Well bar & grill twice. The first time was for lunch where I had some chicken wings that were done to perfection and some fish and chips which was the best I had while in the UK. Everything was freshly made and cooked perfectly. The servings were of a good size and the staff were very friendly and efficient. There were specials on that day for lunch which made it even better. We liked it so much that we booked the family in for the Sunday Carvery. This is all you can eat and all the food was fantastic, being hot and served fresh. The roast beef melted in my mouth, my wife had lamb which she loved with all the traditional trimmings like roast potatoes, carrots, brussels, yorkshire puddings etc. I will make it a point to return here on my next trip to Ireland.

Son took me out my birthday meal (late) to The Well Bar & Grill. We were welcomed by a staff member who seemed genuinely pleased to see us. We were seated, given menus offered drinks and informed of the daily specials. The menu was above average for choice. Meals were served very quickly and food was delicious. Food was fresh and well prepared and portions were more than sufficient. Prices were really keen and we were pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the meal and service we received. It is a little gem. I would highly recommend it and will be back in the not too distant future.

I had a lovely burger here with some of the best Jack Daniels sauce I've tasted. The pint in the bar before hand was nice. It is a very old fashioned looking bar, with a dark dingy feel but in no way dirty.

Stopped in here first time today for evening meal. And to say disappointed would be an understatement food very average and fajita wrap had something blue on it...... can’t work out if it was mould or something else....‍♀️tho they seemed very fresh so I really don’t know ‍♀️ I didn’t notice it till I’d just finished eating and couldn’t be bothered mentioning it as we knew we’d never be back here. Then to add insult to injury..... when paying the girl couldn’t get the card reader to work creating a fuss‍♀️really embarrassing! Had to get another gentleman to to try fix it.... I assume to be the manager. To which he did get it to work. When my partner asked what happens if the failed attempts do go through what should he do? The man said you’ll have to prove it..... lol a bank statement or something! So to that we definitely decided we won’t be back. Such a pity

Además el sitio es tranquilo y limpio.Por no decir que un precio muy adecuado para lo que pedimos.

Had the early bird menu, which offers a good selection of meals with 30% off the price, and the food was delicious! Freshly prepared, cooked well, presented attractively and the portions were very generous. I fancied something light so opted for the chicken Caesar salad, which was so tasty and filling. All other meals looked great too; the beast burger was enormous!

Have to say fantastic food ,fantastic service and then 30% off the meal .This place really is a good i travel all over and have never been disappointed here.i think the mussels are especial good fresh and tasty

Went with the family for the Easter Sunday carvery. Food was excellent and plenty of it. Staff were very friendly and would highlyrecommend a visit.

So went in today for a late lunch with friends and to be honest it was like the guy behind the bar didn’t want to bother and like it was effort to serve us. I’m on a clean diet and the lunch menu was also very poor selection, no salads and no option to order anything off the evening menu. I never even asked about the possibility of that as the barman was just plain rude.. The food was ok, but nothing special and I can honestly say I won’t be in a hurry back. Only for being so hungry and out in an unfamiliar area I’d have walked out and went elsewhere. And after having read such great reviews about this place disappointment is an understatement

I’ve been here a few times and food has been good! Went on Sunday with my family and was very disappointed so to start of with our starter was soup and it was cold only thing warm was the butter! Then we where about to go for our dinner when we seen an icecream tub being lifted out from under the carvey stall which had cream potatoes in it when I say cream potatoes I mean runny cold water like smash!!! It just slid out of the tub!!! Then seen the chef takin a baking tray out and taking the last of the roast beef that had broken away during cooking and pulling it off the tin foil and settin it with the rest of the meat! Yet they where still allowing people to walk in at 3 for a carvery even no they where gettin the scraps of food left over!! It was that bad between 4 of us we got enough roast beef to fed about 1 adult and gammon that had more fat than meat! Was so mad I just wanted to leave only thing good about the food was the dessert but even at that dessert wasn’t worth £14.50! Get ur act 2gether and if u don’t have enough good quality food to feed people near end of Garvey then turn them away instead of letting people eat scraps!

Had a spontaneous weekend away and last minute rang here for a reservation which was no problem. From the minute we sat down everything was top class. Service, food,cocktails and price. I could not recommend this place enough.. try the burger 😊

Visited last night with family in the evening. We were seated, ordered a drink, given menus and then told it would be a 20 min wait as chef had a table of 19 to deal with first. Surely 19 is no problem the restaurant wasn't packed. We decided to stay and ordered our food, it arrived 1/2 an hour later. Food was okay if you are looking for something basic, don't bother with the spicy cod if you like fish because you won't taste the fish. It was overpowered with spice :( not to mention served with mushrooms in the sauce (cod and mushrooms? Not for my palate) that said I ate it, I was hungry and it wasn't awful. My main issue with this place would be the side dishes, such a tiny portion def not enough for a man or growing boys. I would probably try it again but wouldn't be in a hurry.

Great food again but had to wait a little longer than usual had been warned there would be a wait by the look of the place we are not the only people who hane discover this hidden jem

I am generalising the service as 'terrible' but it is in reference to one waitress in particular, she had a dreadful attitude. Firstly we had a very long wait, the children began to get restless after approx 50 mins, when I asked if they could, at least, try to serve the children their meal, the said 'waitress' butted in to my conversation with another and informed me that we were waiting a long time because we had a starter (um apology to the customer? No, it was our fault). So, another 30 minutes pass, no explanation etc, children are really restless, heightening our anxiety plus the exceptionally long wait, we again report this, to a very pleasant staff member now. She then goes to investigate (which the Waitress, who butted in previously, should of really done), now we are told that the Waiter who took our plate did not ring the bell. Now, is there no system whereby ANYONE, never mind the professionals, should look, see a docket or food, sitting for an hour and maybe ask the service staff to check if the man who had garlic cheesy bread, one hour prior, is finished!!!!!!! maybe put that in the suggestions box. So EVENTUALLY our food arrives, my elderly father has his bread roll threw onto the table (no plate for buttering on, nor spoon, my sister had to retrieve that for them), I should add that we are again being served by the Waitress who really should not be serving the public. My sister makes a couple of requests and has the most shirty, ugly attitude. My sister spoke with a member of staff about this girl but to no avail. The food was ok, not enough to overlook the disgusting attitude of this staff member. I think we will be driving past The Well from now on. It ruined our day and we all went home drained and in quite poor form.

The lunch is excellent! The service is excellent! The steak sandwich is very good. I tell my family and friends about this place all the time. A great place to go for lunch!

Perhaps I got them on a bad day but I am shocked by the attitude of the chef in this restaurant. My daughter took me for lunch to celebrate my birthday I ordered Fish & Chips and my daughter ordered Chicken goujons with chips. The meals came in good time and they looked good. The fish was very slightly greasy but it tasted lovely the batter was really light and crisp the chips and mushy peas were as expected. However, the Chicken goujons were a different story the batter on them tasted like cardboard had the texture of cardboard and were not at all nice to eat so two of them were left on the plate. When the waitress came to clear the plates she asked if everything was alright and we told her we were unhappy with the chicken goujons as they were like cardboard she said she would tell the chef she took our plates and went to the kitchen. When she returned she said the chef had said there was nothing wrong with the chicken it was the batter that was bad (as if that made it alright) He didn't even have the decency to apologise. We had intended to ask for the desert menu but were so disgusted with the appalling attitude we paid the bill and left. We will never be back in this resturant again.

First tried "The Well" last August and was really impressed with the food and service.....Visited again in October and again in December and the food and service is just as good if not better....Will be a regular stop for me and family...

This is a general review of the Well - My partner and I have been to this place on many occasions and not once in about 15 visits has it let us down.Food - always excellent and plates warm, this seems to be an issue for many restaurants who serve food on cold plates.Staff - without doubt the best part of the restaurant, from the chefs and kitchen staff to the waitresses et al; always smiling, helpful and not over efficient whereby you cant eat in peace, cant be faulted.Value - again scores very highly esp. the steak deal on a Saturday nightDecor - the only slight minus in the overall score; its a bit dated but to be fair when the staff and food are that good then who really cares.Keep up the good work one and all

My family and I visited The Well for a family function. The staff were very helpful and understanding as we had young children with us. Food orders were taken and the food seemed to be out very quick. The portions were very good and well presented.

Booked a large table for a family meal. The early bird is great value!! All of out dinners came out together and not one of us could fault it. Great portion sizes especially the dessert. Great customer service by all the staff. Definitely returning

This bar has been recently refurbished & the owner has done everything in the best possible taste. We enjoyed the early bird menu. There was plenty of choice & good selection for kids. Staff are friendly & there is a relaxing atmosphere. Enjoyable experience & very reasonably priced. The early bird offers 2 courses for the price of your main meal. Worthwhile visit

Had Sunday carvery with wife and kid's. Have known this place for years but have'nt been in for a while. Was very pleasantly surprised with how it has been refurbished. Very impressive. Look's top notch. Staff are very courteous and professional. Food was excellent and all you could eat. (Chef to be congratulated). A credit to the owner's, they have a something good here....Keep up the good work.....Will definitely be back.......

Ci siamo andati per caso, per una cena durante il ns viaggio in Irlanda. Un po' nascosto. All'interno il locale è ampio e carino. Abbiamo preso del controfiletto per 2. Buona la carne a cottura media, ma bruciata in alcuni punti. Staff gentile e disponibile.

I had a meal in The Well Bar X Grill recently. And was plesently delighted by the presentation of the food . Food was absolutely georgeous. I had been. here a few times before , and was disappointed at the quality of the food. I did not visit the Resturant until now As I live close , I thought I would give it another chance ,it was beautiful, so I will definitely will be back .

Recently (Monday 11 July) we had lunch in this wonderful restaurant. It was my first and it will most certainly not be my last visit.The restaurant has a really nice interior and the welcome from the staff present (everyone) was really nice.Drinks ordered and arrived quickly. The menu selection was more than ample and also had two specials available.We ordered off the menu and after about 25 minutes our meals arrived. We didn't have any worries waiting, as we were not in a hurry, the reason for the time from order to arrival of our meals became very clear, everything was obviously made fresh!It was worth the wait as both of the meals were delicious and had more than ample portions. The 'sides' were an extra cost and this made our meal a little more than other places i have dined in recently, BUT, the little extra was more than made up for by the quality of the meals received.To sum up, if you are stuck for time, ask before ordering the delivery time of your meal, because as i have said earlier, our meals were fresh and this takes time.The staff were very competent and courteous. We believe the server is a recent employee, she was more than capable and even had time for a short chat, she is certainly an asset to the restaurant.The restaurant has a really nice 'feel good factor'.There is ample parking onsite.

Please stop in here if you are passing through the village, or if you live close by and have not yet tried it. Great food, generous portions, excellent service, great value for money, nice atmosphere. A very professional team work here.

My family and I went to the Well to celebrate birthdays and wedding anniversary as a oner. The family were well fead with good portions and well served by the staff. With the number in the party and with the children all having good meals. The staff were very helpful and courteous.

This is a week later but I have to respond to fantastic service and food again we had friends with us on Wednesday night and I had sang the Well's praises to a friend so he and his family joined us you didn't let us down my friend couldn't believe the quality of the food and service to this place thank you

I've visited this restaurant a couple times now over the last few months. Each visit I am greeted by the most courteous staff. They are very knowledgeable about their menu. Each time I have tried something different from steaks, chicken dishes and sea food. Their bar menu is very good also offering great value for money. I have taken my friends and family to this place aswell and they all agree the food is fabulous. In particular the desserts have always been something we look forward too. I don't live very close to the well bar and grill but when I'm up this part of the country I always make a point of coming in for food.

We decided to have an office party in the The Well, since we had heard it had recently been renovated, and it was one of those "times" of the year. Very well treated by the staff, good customer service and food nice large portions as well as being excellent to eat. Wee private bar for us and all within a decent budget price. Some of us stayed on till the wee hours!

The Well Bar and Grill is an excellent venue for an evening out whether you just want a drink and take in the local atmosphere or whether you want a meal. The place has a welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff. There are bar meals and a full menu restaurant to meet most peoples needs. They also have an early bird time Monday to Friday which makes meals even better value. Meals are of excellent quality, well cooked and served hot (very hot in the case of the sizzling platter!). Excellent value for money. The bar has a great atmosphere and you will be welcome by the staff and the locals who will strike up a conversation with you if you want.

This was my first visit to Ballykelly. We were staying with friends and spent the best part of our evenings in the "Well" as it's known locally. Our first visit to the Well was to the Pub and it's at this junture it should be said that friendliness of the staff was second to none, the service in the bar was excellent, we of course had to drink Guinness, now I'm not a lover of the "Black Stuff" but I'm a convert now, it was like drinking velvet and because of the nature of this wonderful brew after our order had been taken we asked to sit down and our Guinness would be brought to our table to allow the beer to be poured and settle properly. The restaurant: we ate in the restaurant three times and according to my companions their food was excellent, the portions were more than enough for the big eater and tasted great, however beware of the sizzling beef plater it is hot and spicy as was the chicken pasta dish. I for my part can highly recommend the seafood chowder, it was very tasty and was a substantial portion, on another night I plumped for their haddock and chips, it was freshly cooked and again hot and delightful to taste.Service: the staff were all very attentive and friendly we were greeted at the door and made feel welcome and served with smiling staff, our food was brought quickly and there was no shortage of staff to serve drinks during our meal.The facilities: the restaurant is wheelchair friendly with enough room between tables to manoeuvre, the toilets were spotless and fragrant. We all enjoyed our visits to The Well Bar And Grill and is to be recommended for the efforts they put in to make guests feel at ease.

Stoped in here on are way back from a run to the beach to try somewhere different. It was during the week so quite but the sun was out an they have lovely wee spot outside to sit we ordered are food an drinks inside an the fella brought them out lovely an friendly and food was great an great value for money couldn't do enough for us !

Very pleasant staff, lovely food, the surf and turf was very nice. Would happily recommend and they offer an early bird on week nights before 7.

This place is hidden jem we stopped in on the way to derry fantastic food ,prices and service I had the fillet steak surf and turf cooked perfect prawns AND scallops with it my wife had the sea bass with capers and prawns the presentation was as good as a 5 star hotel I just can't falt this place we'll be back

The food is second to none,either early bird menu or main menu. The quality is there for all to see and taste. 5*

We have been a few times now. Normally fairly good service with a helpful friendly smile. This time we got a waitress that really seemed like she didn't want to be there. any questions we asked about the food, were answered with 'i don't know'. She wasn't listening when we I ordering and as a result she brought out the wrong food for my eldest daughter. When we said that it was not what we had ordered she proceeded to argue that we were wrong and to show us her order pad. Food also wasn't up to the standard it usually has been. Pitty that one staff member can taint the reputation of what has been an enjoyable restaurant in previous visits.

Went there for first time on Sunday and definitely will be back. It was busy but that did not affect the service. Waiter was very helpful and friendly. We shared the fish cake for starter. You get two big fish cakes and they were really tasty. Carvery had great choice of meats and even had Salmon which was lovely. Good selection of veg and they give you big plate full. Desert we both had the cheese cake. I could hardly move after eating all that but it was well worth it and look forward to returning.

Love this wee restaurant, friendly staff and most importantly great food always something new. Also great offers with there early bird menu and great lunch offers.

We went to the well for a meal on sat night four of us and was not disappointed yet again staff were lovely we were not kept waiting each of our meals were different but all came out at same time and were so lovely great chef

We pass by the Well Bar & Grill most days and have always meant to call in for a meal, so finally we ate here on Sunday evening. First impressions of the restaurant were great, nice decor & spotlessly clean.The staff were very attentive and courteous throughout our visit.The menu was nice and the quality of food was excellent, Salmon & Steak cooked to perfection.Great Value for money and we will be back!

Went to the Well Bar & Grill as a friend has recommended it to us. Stopped in on the way home from shopping for a quick bite to eat. Had the chicken escalope which was lovely. Really clean restaurant and great value for money with big portions. The only thing letting the meal down was that it took quite a long time for the food to arrive at our table. If this had not been the case I would have awarded a rating of Excellent.

Have become a regular visitor. Varied menu with plenty of choice for everyone. Clean modern surroundings, high quality decor. Good value for money as portions are very generous. Service always efficient and very friendly. Seafood chowder a big hit with our party. Only thing I'd love to see would be a nice curry/Thai curry and rice dish.

Called in with my daughter and grand-daughter. I had the seafood chowder which was very good, my daughter had a chilli chickend dish which came with rice and chips, too much. Grand-daughter had steak, as usual. Great service and very pleasant staff.

we asked staff if we could eat outside because my husband cope with the smell of burning candles due to chest problems and they refused so we left very unhappy no thought for OAPS very angry

We have just visited The Well Restaurant for a meal. We were made most welcome by the staff and the food was excellent. The service also was first rate, attentive but not obtrusive. We will visit again soon.

Visited with my family. Staff were extremely rude, and one particular member of staff seemed to target my elderly grandfather in particular for no reason at all. When we made management aware of this, they did not seem to care. Other people I have spoke with have also had incidents with this member of staff. Chicken goujons were so hard they were inedible.

Tried here for the 1st time on Wednesday night after being recommended by a friend. I must say i was not disappointed. Great value for money and excellent portions. We had the tea time special 3 course and it was perfect. Will be back.

This is our third visit to The Well. First time was Sunday carvery and it was beautiful. Our second and third visits were for the early bird menu. Excellent value, friendly staff and no complaints about the food. Our new favourite local place to eat!

The Dropping Well Bar & Grill is set in a lovely area with great scenery. Inside it is well decorated & very clean & tidy. The staff are very helpful & friendly. The food was very nice but the menu was very plain.

My wife Susan and I got a great welcome last Saturday, 18th July, 2015 after arriving around 6pm soaked through at the end of a return walk from Ballykelly car park to the top of Loughermore. I had the Dublin Bay prawns starter and the surf n'turf main course along with a few pints of Guinness. The steak was done perfectly rare just as I had ordered as was Susan's medium rare choice. She also enjoyed her colcannon soup starter as well as her gin and tonics. Appreciated not having to have to re-locate to the restaurant, but could remain with the good company in the bar. Staff and customers all very welcoming and accommodating as well as excellent food. The food was of a far higher standard and of far higher generous portions than many a so-called posh restaurant in Glasgow and Edinburgh. They could learn a thing or six from the Well.The sauces were perfect too. I had pepper and my wife had chorizo. We both had excellent champ as well. This made my 56th birthday all the more enjoyable. So enjoyable, we had a second meal on Wednesday, 22nd July on the eve of our return flight from Derry to Glasgow. This time we had the early bird menu. We both had the vegetable soup starter and the steak and chicken combo main course. I had pepper sauce and Susan had gravy - both top notch. Had the excellent champ again. I had a cracking ice-cream dessert laced with Baileys - excellent excuse for a glass of the same with ice to wash it down. Guinness and Gin & Tonics were great too. Susan had a dairy-free dessert which was great. For £12.50 for 3 courses 5-7pm, mon-fri, the early bird menu is really something else. We arrived here on a busy Sunday evening with no booking. The restaurant was busy, and had no two seated tables free. The staff pulled a big table apart and made space for us. Food was of excellent quality and prepared the way you ask - I am a picky eater. We had mains and desserts plus 2 pints and a coke, the bill came to £36, which we thought was very reasonable. This is my second time eating here and we would definitely returned and would recommend to others.

last minute decision to try the Well Bar and Grill for dinner on Friday 26th June 2015 , and we were not disappointed! Chose our main courses from the Early Bird Menu and were amazed to hear that we also got starter and desert FREE!A varied menu made it hard to choose, but we opted for sizzling beef fajita and haddock and chips. The food was amazing, service faultless, and the portions were huge!Will be back again soon!

Me and 2 friends went for dinner last night was absolutely beautiful the food was presented brilliant with great flavours staff were great can't recommend this place enough. We will definatly be back :)
