The Village Wine Bar in Leeds

Hate that they allow people to vape indoors. I don't want to breathe the contents of other people's lungs thanks.

Enjoyed a peaceful afternoon, very calm atmosphere, clean beautifuly decorated pub, friendly staff. Plan to eat here another time when the weather is cold and the fire is on

For an old style pub it's clean which is always a good start. The bar lady was pleasant, and the food is good for the money you pay. I'd definitely return without question!

Quirky old fashioned pub. Great seating areas away from the bar to chat and drink. We had a great time. Staff polite and the pub was reasonably clean for an old style pub.

It is best to understand that this is a "Wine Bar" in the context of being in a working class suburb of Leeds. And though the area is being gentrified by an influx of "woke" hipster types it might be best to limit ones expectations. It is more a bar than wine bar but this is not to denigrate the bar as it is really rather pleasant. Please note, my review is based on a number of visits in the afternoon rather than evening time. I prefer to visit bars and pubs in the day time. Firstly, no children and no dogs allowed. For me it is a bonus not to have children in the bar. Though I have no objections to dogs. It has one serving bar and then the seating area is spread to every side of this bar, mostly on the ground floor and there are some interesting vaulted alcoves. It is quite dark in side. There is a nice outside seating area covered by a veranda, which gets very popular in warmer weather. The bar attracts a varied mix of clientele and is amazingly always quite busy, even in mid week afternoons. I have always found the atmosphere to be clam and friendly. It is also evident that women feel safe and comfortable as there is often a number of different groups of women in the bar. There is a good selection of draught beers and lagers as well as spirits, and of course they sell wine! Though strangely they don't sell a large 250ml glass! The drinks are all reasonably priced. The food menu is quite extensive and there are some black board specials. The food is well presented and good value. While not rude the staff often appear disinterested in customers. Though they offer an efficient and quick service but there is little to no chat or banter to be had with the staff. The toilets are clean and presentable and the bar is also clean and looks well maintained.

Don't go for food , just a few drinks on Saturday night. It's a lovely pub ,good atmosphere and staff are happy and talkative and it's always clean .

First time drinking in here nice atmosphere friendly staff would drink here again .

Nice cosy little bar with great selection of wines and good bar. Service good, toilets clean and do good food I hear although we came at night. Found a cosy little nook with lovely lighting and great atmosphere when you are out with the girls.

The food was simple Sunday lunch BUT cooked to perfection . Such great value for money . Lots of fresh veg and meat of three (I think?) choices . Lovely desserts too . Last but by no means least the staff were all lovely . We were served quickly and they couldn't do enough for us !!! I definitely recommend it and will certainly be back !!

This bar used to be a busy vibrant part of Farsley. Now however, the bar lacks a warm welcome. The bar staff are rude and unhelpful.

Great friendly atmosphere, always made welcome

Went with my friend, we had a "special" lunch. Very nice small Dinner. Roast beef Yorkshire pudding cabbage and carrots. Thoroughly enjoyed my Monday dinner just enough , presented well. Friendly staff. Would definitely go again.

It was my partners retirement doo, the staff were wonderful, very welcoming and very accommodating. Only our third time going but each and everytime we do we love it. Thanks to the Village People.

The beer is not as good as the atmosphere

Called in for a couple of beers. They sell Brooklyn lager on tap at a very reasonable price so it's my go to in Farsley. Felt a bit in the way at times as it was Sunday dinner and the bar was geared up for meals but this is to be expected

An old favourite. A drink in farsley has to include a cheeky one or ten in the village. Great food the steak baguette is always amazing.

A fun bar in the centre of Farsley, an increasingly hip town between Leeds and Bradford.

Won Sunday Lunch for 2. Couldn't fault it! Lovely friendly staff, great service and food was gorgeous. Would definitely recommend it to friends and will definitely be eating here again!

Great place, local to me and friendly. Always like to call in here for a beer. Decent selection of drinks always served to a high standard, never had a bad pint and I like my Guinness so it has to be poured well. Always served spot on and always with a smile. I wouldn't say I'm a regular but I do visit a bit and you are always made to feel welcome. Staff are very friendly and it's good to see regular faces and new faces too. All in all, a cracking establishment.

Not the cheapest place in the village but not the dearest either. Arguably one of the coolest. Friendly, efficient staff. Good range of drinks unless you're a real ale snob. Best Sunday dinner for miles. Occasional entertainment.

Very friendly wine bar. It can be a little bit to hot with all the heating and fire on. Can be a little unbearable. Plenty of choices of drinks, huge variety of Gin' s, wine, Real Ale and largers. Very friendly staff and knowledgeable. Worth a visit for all ages.

Just a quick drink at the end of the night, after a meal, with 3 friends... appeared to be a decent little bar, attentive staff. Would need to visit again to give it a "proper" rating, but a good first impression deserves ☆☆☆☆

This is a wonderful cosy pub with outdoor seats and a good selection of most drinks, even soft drinks. The only lacking thing is ales but in a time of everywhere selling craft beer it does seem a good plan to give something a little different.
