Nice little cafe friendly staff nice portions of the breakfast nice coffee can get really busy good selection on the menu only down side is cash only and catering sausages I would pay £1 more for a good pork sausage

We popped in for breakfast on our last day of our holiday in Clacton...if only we had been sooner we would have been in more than once. The cafe was very busy when we got there, but luckily we managed to get a table. The cafe looked nice & clean & staff were friendly when we ordered. We ordered four breakfasts of various sizes & all were beautifully cooked, each with a nice runny egg. We chatted to other customers & found the cafe to have a pleasant atmosphere. It's always lovely to find a decent local cafe to get a good breakfast from. We will most definitely return if we are in the area again.

Me and my sister had breakfast here today. One of the best breakfasts we've tasted. Couldn't believe how quick it was served. Lovely friendly staff. Definitely be back.

Found it by using Google as was local. Service was spot on! Quick, friendly and with a smile. Proper cup of tea and very tasty, not greasy, breakfast. Both boys cleared their plates 😋 Clean and spacious cafe too! Will definitely be back there when I’m next in Clacton.

While in Clacton we popped into village cafe for breakfast and it was the nicest breakfast I had in a long time . The waitress was very friendly and made us feel very warm and welcome . The price is very reasonable as well so it’s a five star from me and my family .

I popped in there for breakfast today, 22nd November, 2019, in order to while away half an hour until my hairdressing appointment.I ordered two scrambled egg on toast and a cuppa. Nothing complicated there. The cuppa came relatively quickly - and was unbelievable weak. The scrambled egg came with two slices of toast. I took one bite, and couldn't believe it. The toast was completely burnt and was covered with the scrambled egg. I separated the scrambled egg from the toast. The scrambled egg tasted OK.The result was that I left the two slices of burnt toast and most of the cup of tea. No one asked if I enjoyed it - I think that it was obvious from my actions that I didn't - and instead of complaining I just decided to pay up; walk out, and not to return - ever!

What sort of cafe in this day and age doesn't have a card machine. Absolutely ludicrous. Not many people have cash on them these days. Slow service aswel.

Good food. Cheap prices. Well worth going here. Staff very helpful. Quick service. Do not miss. Parking available.

Visited on a Saturday morning with my friend.She had a number 5 set breakfast with 2 lattes and I had a number 4 and a cup of tea.Everything was cooked really nicely (although the mushrooms could have been hotter) and tasted good. The eggs were cooked perfectly.The only criticism is that we had to wait 40 mins for the food. We weren't in any hurry, but I felt that was a bit slow.Bill came to £17 which I felt was very reasonable.

Nice friendly atmosphere, clean and inviting. The breakfast was yummy, but a little bit of a small portion for the large breakfast option. We had to wait quite a while for our food as it was busy and toast was forgotten.Would easily be a 4 star if the portions were slightly bigger and we didn’t have to wait so long or ask for our toast. Will still return and would recommend.

Popped in here with my son for brunch .Staff were polite, welcoming and accommodating.The cafe has a lovely atmosphere and its was obviously a sociable place.The food arrive in good time, freshly cooked and hot.My panini was delicious, good quality ham and a nice strong cup of tea.Great wheelchair access and lots of room for prams.It’s a nice spacious cafe and it’s refreshing not to feel squeezed in .You can see into the small kitchen and it was very clean.Thankyou will be definitely visiting again.

I went to this place at 2.40 in the afternoon. Stood at the counter looking at the menu when someone came out from the kitchen area and just said, "we've stopped serving". No apology. No explanation. Just ignorance. And this despite the fact that there was a table of four eating 2 feet away!! They have a board up asking ppl to vote for them as the best cafe around. On this showing they can kiss that goodbyeWanted to give no stars, but this won't let me!! Begrudgingly they get 1

This was the best fried breakfast I have had in Clacton On Sea, the staff are very welcoming and the place has a nice relaxed atmosphere.Everything was cooked perfectly and really nice bacon + sausages, the fried eggs were great with soft yolks that you can dip your bacon and sausages in. The amount of places that totally balls that part up is beyond a joke around this area, if you can not fry an egg properly then you should not be running or working in a kitchen!.Everything else ( mushrooms, beans, tomatoes, hash browns etc ) was hot and ready to dig straight into in. This is what you should get when you go for a fried breakfast but very rarely do, a cracking good fry up for a very good price!.

Off the beaten track of Clacton, the restaurant was clean and nicely decorated and the staff friendly. Had a full breakfast for £5.25, decent quality food at a reasonable price and only about a five minute wait for the food to be cooked.

We visit the Village Cafe quite frequently, usually for breakfast fry-ups which are really tasty, good size portions and excellent value for money. This visit being lunchtime we opted for the cod, chips and peas.....wow! This is by far the best fish and chips we have had in any of the Clacton cafes/restaurants/chip shops and at a very reasonable price that included bread and butter. The batter was light and crispy, the fish was moist and tasty, and the chips were yummy. This is the only place we will be buying fish and chips from in future. Can't recommend this cafe highly enough. Excellent selection of cooked meals and desserts on the menu plus baguettes, rolls, sandwiches and panini's. It also operates a take away service. Give it a try if you are in Clacton, you won't be disappointed.

Friendly staff , nice breakfasts and sensible prices, I drop a car off for a wash at ravensdale next door and it's ready when I've eaten, I think the car wash guys are doing buy 4 washes get 1 free, it's good value so I don't mention that, anyway getting back to the cafe it's well worth a visit, lots of free parking, always get a table, and best thing for me I take my daughter to school and I'm there within 1 minute

Aunque vivimos localmente esta es la primera vez que hemos visitado este café. . . No puedo creer que lo que hemos estado perdiendo! La cafetería tiene un ambiente encantador y acogedor, amable, el personal es eficiente, feliz y sonriente, lo que hace una diferencia! La comida es preparada a la orden, así que esperar esperar si ocupado, merece la pena. Fue traído a la mesa bien caliente y era un enorme grasientos para el precio que pagamos, de hecho fue el mejor desayuno que he tenido, cocinado, como nos gusta. Volveremos muy pronto para probar algo más del menú. Realmente no puedo recomendar lo suficiente.

Después de llegar hoy en 2. 30 cuando el café cierra a las 3 y nos sentamos a comer mientras las plantas estaban siendo barrido y fregado. . . Nunca me he sentido tan incómodo en mi vida. Me sentí como si me apuraron a salir de la puerta y cuando nos dijo lo desagradable de la experiencia fue la camarera respondió Ah bien sin importarles!

Mi amigo y yo venga a desayunar una vez a la semana aquí, siempre tenemos el mismo desayuno, que se está convirtiendo en un poco de una broma de la casa, el personal es amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudar, el desayuno se sirve rápidamente lo que es bueno, es muy razonable. Estaremos continuando venir mientras nuestro patrón de trabajo semanal remands el mismo.

Always have a breakfast here when we are in Gt Clacton. Going here for years and always remains the same superb quality.

This was my second attempt at a positive experience with the cafe. The food is ok, although I did have to send the black pudding back as it was only sealed on the outside but, "raw", (I'm aware it's cooked prior to sale) & cold inside.

Yummy Food, fresh tasty and plenty of it! The Service is here is great. Definitely recommend a visit. It was our first and we will definitely be coming back. Prices were very reasonable

Food is really good staff very friendly & efficient. We both had an omelette cooked to perfection I asked for salad instead of chips which was no problem at all

Eaten there multiple times breakfasts always good staff are polite and one waitress is the fittest bird in Clacton with a sexy figure and smile, always up for a laugh brightens up my day before work.

I've been to this place many time in the last couple of years and the food is amazing couldn't ask for anything better the staff are lovely and friendly and always up for a good chat if not to busy which I love, the cafe is very clean and tidy and looks like they have good hygiene which you couldn't ask for anything better always an amazing. Atmosphere when you walk in usually hear people laughing out back which give a warm and welcoming feel couldn't ask for a better place to have your breakfast or lunch.

Have been here a couple of times not sure about it to be honest. Food seems okay nothing to yell about reasonably priced. Served quiet quickly once but had to wait for food a while when it was busy. There isn't much parking at times. I have had to park right round the back and I have to say it's put me off going in. There is rubbish everywhere round there. There's a section under some stairs full with black bags and bun trays. Always people out back smoking you can even see people in the kitchen smoking not pleasant when you know there cooking your food. I hope they wash their hands after. Not sure the cleanliness is up to standard. Could do with a good spring clean. Not sure I'd go back again.

I often come to this cafe when I am visiting my grandparents, the food and drinks here and really nice and at a good price too!

Great grub lovely staff very clean mirrors but table bottoms very very bad hope owner reads this as guy in there spent 15 minutes cleaning a mirror and then discussed his super job for 5 mins with waitress but hasn't cleaned the table bottoms for at least 2 weeks ,on plus side best fried bread in clacton

I use this venue on a casual basis for breakfast. Food is always consistantly good quality. Well above the rest of the greasy spoons Clacton has to offer. Only thing is that the staff could do with smiling a bit more. Bit clicky but hasn't spoiled things so far

The menu is full of popular meals which taste excellent, would recommend the fish & chips on Fridays

Me and my husband went here after seeing the rating etc on trio adviser. We ordered a breakfast and it turned up luke warm and hard egg! The toast was cold and overpriced. Will not be returning

Breakfast is good but they seem to allow a old scumbag on a red mobility scooter light his cigarettes inside the cafe before he goes out. Really disgusting which ruined everyone's meal and is why I'm not giving a better mark.

This cafe is the best in this area, with different choices everyday. Exceptionallyhelpful staff and wonderful home cooked food at a reasonable price. Have been a number of times now with partner and also with family when they visit would recommend this establishment to everyone .

Had a BreakLunch here with my wife it was nice had Ham Egg Chips and Beans wife had a Bacon Sandwich and have to say it was very nice. Worth popping img for a cheap lunch or breakfast!

Bank holiday Monday in a seaside town. My friend and I decided to pop in for lunch at 2pm. After all it's open until 3. Or not! As we approached they took the A board in, turned the closed sign round and by the time we had crossed the road the door was locked. Sadly we had to seek lunch elsewhere. Very disappointed.

I have had breakfast and lunch here on a number of occasions. The food is always good with a daily special posted on the board. A good selection of good wholesome food is always available with a great breakfast menu (the black pudding, bacon and sausage are quality products and they do really crisp fried bread). The lunch menu is quite extensive and they have a daily special. Recomended.

Have been the The Village Cafe a few times and it always prove to be good value. The food is simple and well cooked and the staff are always polite and helpful.

This cafe is very well presented and a really nice place to eat. I have been here a few times of recent and find the staff friendly and the food good value for money. It can get very busy but nothing is ever to much trouble for the staff. They let me change items i don't like on my breakfast and replace them with what i do at no extra cost. I have enjoyed my meal every time i visit and will be going back again.

I regularly use this café and since it has changed ownership it has improved. It has lowered prices and made meals bigger. The breakfasts are great value for money and I'm always full after leaving here. I would recommend this café to anybody, the staff are friendly and its always clean.

Best cafe in Clacton by far, great value and superb food.I visit this cafe on a weekly basis, staff are absolute great.... Always a nice friendly atmosphere.I would most definitely recommend this cafe above all others in Clacton (and I've been to 95% of them)

The staff are so friendly and the food is amazing and a very reasonable price lovely homemade dishes and puddings and is very clean and well presented wouldn't go any where else

I have been using The Village Cafe for some months now. The food is always fresh and tasty, well presented and cooked to order. Ross and Chris do a marvelous job, and are very friendly. When I had a broken hand, they cut up my food for me, which was much appreciated. This a clean and friendly place, and nothing is too much trouble. Living on my own, I find it saves me cooking at home, and the prices are very reasonable. Can't recommend it enough.

The Grantley's van stops here most days for lunch and have eaten at many cafe this is by far the best! Good portions lovley food and a good atmosphere nice and clean cafe 5*

I visit here at least once a week, and find the food great, Very good value for money. The cafe is very clean and well set out. It has a great friendly atmosphere. The staff at the village cafe are very welcoming with excellent friendly service. I would highly recommend. I will be returning time and time again.

I use this Cafe a couple of times a month. Their number 4 breakfast is great, with fried egg, good quality bacon, black pudding and sausages. There is a choice of toast or fried bread and beans or tomatoes. My preference is the crispy fried bread and beans. The mug of tea comes with the tea bag in it and the milk in a jug. that really pleases me as like my tea strong.They do a meal of day that is really well priced. sometimes roast dinners, pies, gammon steaks,fish these meals are really popular. They do a range of fish and chips with great batter and crisp dry chips. The friendly staff add to the great ambience and relaxing atmosphere. highly recommended

I visit here every Saturday with my friend for our breakfast which keeps us going for most of the day. Everything is cooked fresh to order and the fried bread is just scrummy.My only criticism is having to watch one of the young waitresses chewing her gum as if she were a cow chewing the cud, would be nice if she would smile on occasion.....saying that everyone else is very friendly especially Chrissi.

Excellent 5* value for money. Spotlessly clean. Great food well cooked and well presented. Excellent friendly service, nothing too much trouble. Will definately return time and time again.
