Went in for brunch with friends and to scope the place out for a potential party venue. The food and level of service was fantastic. Great interaction with the staff there. Super friendly and professional. Very accommodating with a very quirky ice cream machine. Thank you guys. We will be back.

Thirsty Bird has a wonderfully eclectic decor that I find appealing and quirky. We booked to take friends for a lazy Sunday breakfast. We were met and served by the wonderful front-of-house team, who were friendly and delightful. The coffee is sublime, and we take ours black and sugar-free. You can't hide bad coffee ☕️. We ordered the Bacon Ciabatta and two Make-your-Own breakfasts. We had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, with halloumi and a side salad [a great alternative option to bread], and we had bacon and scrambled eggs, with halloumi. The food was delicious and beautifully plated, and the servings were generous. We will be back.

Wow, what can I say about Thirsty Bird the most outstanding cafe in Wimborne! I can’t recommend this place enough. The food is incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor! I highly recommend trying the Prosciutto, Goat’s Cheese, and Rocket on Toast it’s a must have. Plus, the service is flawless. Truly a gem

We had an amazing 40th birthday celebration at the Thirsty Bird. They accommodated all of our wishes and made the atmosphere very easy and welcoming. I would recommend this for any special gathering of people. Food was delicious and so reasonable too! Thanks gang, we will be back 🥰

Lovely food, drinks and lovely staff

Had an unfortunate experience that was inappropriately delt with. I was served food with plastic bits in it. I don't know if it is a common occurance there as no one was surprised, the server did not apologise, we mentioned to bar they said: oh yeah there was that, sorry. Ended paying full price for piece of plastic. Personally I find it unacceptable

The staff are brilliant, friendly and welcoming. The server answered all my questions relating to dietry requirements. Really delicious local produce and baked goods used. Able to accommodate my vegan teen and my dietary needs. Lovely atmosphere.

We recently hired the Thirsty Bird for a private event. They were so helpful and accommodating from when we originally required until the party finished! This place is small but cute. Staff are very friendly and know what they are doing. Only downside is the poor disability access. It's a converted house in the old part of wimborne so I get that it's tricky. But some small ramps would make a huge difference. The food is top quality and freshly prepared on site. Very cute garden at the rear. The team work hard to offer fantastic service and a welcoming atmosphere. You will not be pleased you searched it out.

I really love this place! The staff are beyond lovely, I recently celebrated my birthday, and the lovely lady heard my friend wishing me a happy birthday, the next minute my drink and food is being placed in front of me whilst she sang happy birthday to me! They also, always , have a great playlist playing. Plenty of room for pushchairs to be parked up, and is super cosy. Great choice of hot drinks and food, including yummy fresh cakes/pastries!

Lovely intimate eatery with caring hosts. Attended a private party there snd the buffet mezzo food was really good. Nice drinks too. The food menu is a little limited owing to their compact kitchen facility- but they make up for it in personal attention and ambiance.

Really loved this place! First time here and felt so welcome, the lady that served me was great and had so much positive and friendly energy! Couldn't ask for more! And the food was also fantastic!

First time we visited this cafe. The coffee and the almond croissant were really nice. The staff were very friendly and the place had a nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back and want to try the food menu.

The morning bun (cross between a doughnut and croissant) is really good!

This was the best coffee place in Wimbourne, great food and atmosphere, I even used to make a trip over from Bournemouth to go here. Such a shame it has closed now :-(

Great eats, recommended. Weekends are busy so try your luck. Coffee roasted by South Coast Roast. Bit pricy and some may find the menu a little high brow, but the platters are really tasty.

Lovely little venue in the heart of wimborne. Food and service was really good and very well presented. Would have been good if we could have ordered drinks from upstairs but apart from that it was all lovely

I went here for breakfast and was impressed by the general atmosphere of the place. I had avocado on toast which was very pleasant, if a bit pricey for what it is. My only complaint for the food was that it came with large chunks of chilli on it meaning the odd mouthful was blown away in heat, more finely chopped chilli would distribute that pleasantly across the whole dish. The staff were friendly and I was pleased to note the drinks of a decent quality too.

It’s so hit and miss lately. I really like this place but too many times recently I have left feeling disappointed. The food is inconsistent; either delicious or a waste of money with tasteless ungenerous portions. The staff can be friendly but more recently I have found them somewhat rude. We waited a while at the bar once to order and then to pay, each time without even being acknowledged before having to enquire ourselves with abrupt responses. As a customer I should not feel like I’m an inconvenience when ordering and paying. A hair in the scramble eggs (no major dramas - theses things happen), moderately hot coffee, uncomfortable seats, unapproachable/unfriendly staff. All these little things amount to being quite unsatisfied especially when parting with money in the current climate. Such a shame, it used to be a little gem in Wimborne. I shall miss their very good avocado on toast but it’s time for a change.

Stopped for brunch at about 2pm and enjoyed a perfect avocado on sour dough with poached eggs and halloumi. The best we’ve had in the area so far. Delicious

Den godaste frukosten på vår roadtrip i södra England! Vi testade fyra rätter på menyn och allt höll bra kvalitet och var över våra förväntningar. Smakrikt, generösa portioner och fint upplägg. Bra kaffe dessutom. Sitt på baksidan i den mysiga trädgården! Trevlig personal och väl värt ett besök!

The owners and staff in this shop are incredibly kind, friendly and accommodating. The coffee is also fantastic. We didn’t eat but the food looked awesome.

Excellent venue and staff. We booked The Thirsty Bird for a drinks reception the night prior to our wedding and from start to finish the experience was excellent. Really recommend the space for large group bookings, especially on a nice day as the outdoor space is good.

Popped in for a quick drink and light meal. Portions were great and the food excellent. Avocado on toast with halloumi was superb, as were the ranch eggs. Very fresh and tasty. All it needs are sharper knives so you can cut the toast and maybe tea cups that are thinner and do not take all the heat from the tea!

Excellent food & drinks in a cozy setting. Try visiting for yourself, you will like it. Yet another visit and still warrants five stars. Good food. Great service. Happy again.

Have visited here many times for breakfast and coffee over the last couple of years and have always left very happy with the yummy food options and brilliant coffee, along with the friendly staff and great atmosphere. Food can sometimes take a while, but this is understandable when it is busy and the kitchen is so small so we don't mind. Haven't tried them for drinks and cocktails in the evening but will definitely visit one evening with friends.

Superb place absolutely fantastic definitely go for the charcuterie or the Vegan board my recommendation.

Two of us went for a mid week lunch and loved it. I had mushrooms on toast with poached eggs and my husband had the salt beef bagel - they were both fantastic. I then had the banana muffin toasted with cinnamon butter - divine! The staff were super friendly. Highly recommended.

I visited the thirsty bird today with a friend. I had my young baby with me. The waitress brought my coffee over and when I wasn't looking my LO pulled the whole cup of coffee over himself and me. I was naturally a bit shocked, but didn't realize it was all over my son's arm. The quick thinking waitress jumped into action and helped me get the hot wet coffee covered clothes off LO. She got a cold cloth and helped me run his burnt arm under the tap. Just blown away by such a great experience. The coffee and cake we had were also amazing and the coffee was replaced free of charge. However much these kind ladies earn it's not enough. Thank you

Service was wonderful and so friendly the minute we came in, could not be faulted! As other mentioned the menu is fairly limited but everything on there looked yummy, both of us really enjoyed our brunch and the coffee was nice :)

Myself and my friend popped in to The Thirsty Bird yesterday for lunch. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Our service times were excellent and the food was exceptional! I haven't been to a cafe/restaurant for sometime were I've returned home and felt compelled to write a review, if you are near Wimborne this place is a must! Also we both noted what a fantastic menu/selection they have. Its not large but its all the best things! Thanks for such a lovely lunch, we will both be back I'm sure!

27/02/2022. Visited mid morning for ‘Brunch’. Can’t find fault, foods delicious, drinks are well sized and very high quality whatever your menu choice. Menu is small as others have mentioned but due to this small menu sized all items are of the highest quality and arrive in quick time. Decor within the building is different and brings the place alive and all previous points pair together for a lovely experience. Staff are polite and extremely switched on. Highly recommend to anyone.

Such a lovely find, in the heart of Wimborne it has the kind of welcoming vibe you want, the bar staff were exceptional and attentive to a point I haven’t previously experienced and the cocktails have left me looking forward to my next visit. I can’t wait to return, I highly recommend!

Lovely place to meet friends or just chill on your own

This place totally sets the standard when it comes to cafe culture (in stark contrast to a grim Costa or Starbucks). Great venue, awesome staff, Bad Hand Coffee (roasted by a bunch of rad dudes in Dorset) and a simple, but perfectly executed menu. If you have been to Wimborne and didn't visit, get your ass back in the car and go there ... you won't be disappointed!!

Honestly the tastiest french toast I have ever had! I don’t really leave reviews but I Wanted people to know if you are unsure to visit .... VISIT! We also had the Greek yogurt with granola. Wow- whoever there Greek yogurt supplier is. DEVINE. Presentation was beautiful. Staff were hot on service and super friendly. They even made my boyfriends coffee right 🥰. ( a long black ). The two lasses that served us where super lovely. One younger with a black and white skirt on other with dungarees. Just bliss. Can’t wait to come back and tell ALL my buddies about The Thirsty Bird. I think the only thing I would change is more honey in the Greek yoghurt. But apart from that. Great place to eat and relax. Lovely decor. Just spot on! See you again 😁

Sat outside in light drizzle yesterday for Sunday brunch. At the risk of sounding like a fake review everything was perfect. Fresh chilli not too hot, plates and cutlery right size and easy to use, food perfect, healthy plants in new garden (if they can look after a trough of mint, they can look after me-ie keep kitchen and toilets clean and chef happy-all essential for a good eating experience.. I and various other tables all sat outside delighted to be there. The garden is very comfortable with good acoustics from the bamboo screening, gravel floor and the wood pergola and wood chairs that remind you not to make a pig of yourself and even a hedge sparrow visiting-sure sign of no cats. If the indoor music favoured by the staff is ever pumped out into the garden I may have to invest in some noise cancelling headphones, but it will be worth it for such good food and service.

It’s such a lovely idea to close East Street on Sunday so that the cafes can put out tables and chairs. If tables are reserved they need to have a sign on them and not be so rude to customers.

Best coffee & best atmosphere in any cafe in Wimborne, plus the decor is original, doesn't get any better in this little town. We're lucky to be so local to it! 👏🏽👏🏽

2 weeks ago we booked a breakfast here and sat in the courtyard. What a great little wine bar. Very relaxed with great service. The waitress actually got one of our drinks wrong but noticed the mistake herself rectified it but allowed us to keep both drinks and on the house. We really enjoyed it and had a real chill evening. Not anything bad to say really, mg only warning I would say is the wine list is not eclectic and I think only 3 red and 3 white but all 6 very good. Other drinks are available.
