What a lovely experience. Went with a friend and we enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones and cake with a great choice of teas. You have to book in advance. Decor is pretty and the service by the owner is friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend it.

So pleased we found this delightful tea room. The scones were delicious. Well presented by a very friendly gentleman who was very attentive. Reasonably priced. Cute little courtyard at the back. Highly recommend.

I had afternoon tea with a friend at this lovely little tea-room and it was delightful in every way. Though unobtrusive and easy to miss from the outside, indoors the tea-room is beautifully decorated and full of interesting objects which customers are welcome to explore. Indeed we were given an (optional) list of mystery questions to solve, which was entertaining and interesting. The tea, sandwiches and cakes were beautifully prepared and served and no request was too much trouble. Our hosts were friendly and gracious. I am already looking forward to my next visit (NB you do have to book in advance).

A lovely little tea shop. First class service. In middle of Lewes but with quiet yard at rear. Wide choice of teas and scrummy cakes. What more could anyone want?!

I'd intended to go in the Carafe cafe. But it was a Monday, and turned out they were shut, so I just walked across the road and dived in this place. Usually, tea rooms aren't my thing--I just stick out like Withnail and I. But after hiking I was deeply parched and dehydrated, so I went in, took the first chair (never even saw the garden), and ordered a big old pot of Rosie Lee. Is there any better drinking exprience than hot tea when you're gasping? I demolished that lovely pot with great pleasure but little in the way of zen ceremony. As I happened to be close to the counter, I had the pleasure of chat with the great character of a server, who described herself as the mad cafe lady. So, instead of feeling, as I'd feared, out of place, I felt at home with this fellow eccentric. Much love to the Tea Garden.

Delicious, freshly-baked scones and cakes served with a range of loose-leafed tea. The room's decor is beautiful, with charming bone china and generous portions of cakes and scones. Excellent service and the manager, Jonathan, is so welcoming and friendly. This was a family visit and everyone in our group, ages ranging from young adult to late eighties, agreed that we look forward to returning to sample more of the tea room's delights.

The Tea Garden offers a perfect experience. Whether you’re indoors in the beautifully decorated tea room or outside in the lovely garden, it’s a great pleasure. The selection of teas was extensive, and the one we chose couldn’t have been better. Everything — the sandwiches, scones, jams, cream, and cakes — was wonderful. The owner/proprietor was extraordinarily friendly and accommodating. The price, too, was incredibly reasonable and a superb value. Hugely recommended!
