The Tai Pan in Newry and Mourne

Had to give 1 star as 0 stars isn't possible. Worst place ever always wrong food would swear curry was gold dust got litterly a spoon full over my wrong order will never be back wud advise people to stay away also as its not a one off it constantly happens place should be shut down. Also the gravy that came on the chips was in the bag not on the chips mess of a place pissed off is an understatement

Not usually one for leaving reviews but I feel I really need to on this occasion. The food here tonight was shockingly bad. Salt & chilli chicken was hard, with a huge concoction of chilli flakes sprinkled over the top that would bring a tear to your eye, literally no curry sauce and rice that had probably been prepared last week. I hate being biased but I think people should be aware of the quality of food here. Portion sizes are fine and the staff are quite polite but the food is dreadful. Mabye we choose this take-away on the wrong night but unfortunately I won’t be returning anytime soon. The highlight of my meal here had to of been the mineral sadly 👎

Been a few times as my sister likes the salt and chilli chicken but everything else on the menu is just sugary syrup for a sauce. Duck was very fatty to the point some pieces were just fat, chicken has been really tough at times which makes me think it's just been over-microwaved to order. Where to start on the girls on the front desk, doesn't seem to matter which of them is working or what day or anything they are always both so rude and clearly hate being there and you being there is an inconvenience to them.

The Tai Pan has been around In Newry for quite some time, however this does not quite mean it is best. It is quite average for a Chinese takeaway and I feel in recent years the quality of their food has slipped, as it is no longer the go to place it was. Although they still offer a decent curry, the rest of their food leaves a lot to be desired. 5/10

Has a full range of Chinese cuisine and also a European menu..the including rice, noodle and curry dishes along with all the other favourites..telephone orders accepted for collection and walk in orders the service is fairly quick..it is a clean establishment with the kitchen in full view..the food tastes fantastic and its easy to see why they are popular..definitely recommended

Food is really Nice, best food in town and staff are friendly

About as good as your going to get for a Chinese in Newry, we have a lot of takeaways here but most prepare poor to average food, The Tai Pan is one of our longest running Chinese takeaways and the food is pretty good on average, one positive I can give them is that unlike many Chinese takeaways ive visited, this is one of the only ones ive yet to have receive dangerously under-cooked food from, unfortunately a common problem with many other takeaways in Newry!

The best choice in Chinese takeaways in Newry, from what ones I've visited so far. The "Egg fired rice" is my favourite meal on their menu, very tasty and filling. The Chicken Balls, are really nice too, proper chicken breast but I would not go as far to say they are the best in town. I also love the spring rolls that can be had here, there crammed with veg and very tasty, the best in town. They also have the best noodle dishes aswell. Although it must be said that although the tai pan are indeed the best choice for Chinese food, and although their is plenty of competition, the standard in Newry is pretty low as most places are fairly average.
