The Bank Newry in Newry and Mourne

As an Alberta beef farmer visiting Ireland, I was amazed at the quality of the beef. Highly recommend the medallions, cooked to perfection.

Heading to Belfast last Friday night, we stopped here. A lovely bar/restaurant with a very extensive and varied menu with lots of appealing options. I had the smoked haddock, not as good as The Winding Stair in Dublin version but very nice with a beautiful hollandaise sauce. Comfortable seating, atmospheric lighting and live music added to a lovely evening, so lovely we wanted to stay, but couldn’t. I will return, soon.

Typical pub, good choice of beers, the food is good but the prices are a bit high, the place is quite crowded at the weekend. It is advisable to book a table if you intend to have dinner and don't want to wait more than 30 hours. minutes to sit.

I was just in this restaurant and they served us a raw sea bass.... super slow service, good presentation of the dishes but the flavors not so much... a place to have something, not to eat....

The worst service I've ever experienced!! Relatively quiet Sunday evening...Over 50 minutes waiting after ordering and other tables next to us (who arrived after us) got their food. When we asked a waiter to check for us we got nothing back, no explanation or apology. Again we asked and got someone who looked like a manager and once again got no answer back. Still don't know what the issue was. Sounded like other tables had probleme too. Eventually the two meals came out and they tasted great but the evening was ruined by then. I couldn't wait to get out of there! Safe to say I will not be going back.

WORST restaurant experience in the island of Ireland. Trust me, I’m a foodie and have lived here for more than 5 years. Waited more than 50 mins for pan fried sea bass and chicken sizzler (only 2 orders). No explanation as to why our orders were delayed. They were very slow to give our food but very quick to collect our plates. I was still eating and two wait staffs asked me if I’m done with my food (I was still enjoying my mash!). Mind you, they were not that busy so I don’t understand why they were rushing me. Such a shame because the food was good. Avoid this place if you don’t want to be disappointed. Will not be back, that’s for sure.

This huge pub/club is a beautiful building and a beautiful bar(downstairs) to be fair but unfortunately there are a lot of very drunk children in there. And I mean children,from 14 to 15 to 16yr olds,all with fake drivers licenses, that are obviously fake, and the majority of them purporting to be 19yr old. I am a man in his mid 40’s with a daughter of 19 and it really did my head in seeing all these children in The Bank and very drunk.It’s not like they were “oh she/he could be 19 but they look young” it was plain obvious to see they were school kids. I was actually very concerned for some of the girls because they were so drunk they could barely string a sentence together except “can you give us a lift home” to anyone in there actually old enough to drive.And then you had the door staff, all of the door staff can’t be blamed for the situation because when I entered 1 man was on the front door,he was later bounding about the place with a sleeveless compression top on and his arms out like he was some kind huge bloke.What was he playing at,if he wasn’t the head doorman the head doorman should have told him to put his jacket back on and get his SIA of his bare arm and back around his jacket arm,very unprofessional and just plain stupid and strange.It was as if he needed people to see his huge arms(they weren’t quite there yet).So stupid and unprofessional I thought it was a joke the first time he bounded through the place but no he did it all night.This place needs sorting out and so do some of the door staff.

Starters quite costly needs a bit more variation on the menu. Otherwise, it's very good

Food was awesome, but the service wasn’t great. The ginger waitress seemed like she never carried a plate before, too busy chatting and flirting with coworkers, and even sneaking selfies behind the bar. The Chicken Sizzler was gorgeous, but I won't be coming back because of the waitress – totally unprofessional and made me feel unwanted.

Nice spacious place with great helpful staff. One slight error with order, but probably me not being clear. Free parking within a couple if mins walk so fine when dry. Would go again.

Always have a good experience in the bank, staff went out of their way to accommodate our daughter who has a dairy allergy.

Lovely atmosphere in an old bank. Staff delightful. The menu was well balanced with local ingredients to the fore. The portions were good and delicious. Thoroughly recommend!!

Nice food in a beautiful bar / restaurant. Only negative was the £3:50 charge for a thimble portion of bbq sauce .Overall food bill was £550+ and drinks bill something similar.

First time back up here from Dublin since COVID restrictions. Such an amazing place. Their roof top bar is stunning. They have a good selection of food which can be altered to make them Gluten Free. A little on the pricey side though.

Had a beautiful meal yesterday, very attentive staff, brilliant service.

The staff were absolutely lovely!! We rang in advance to ask if they were dog friendly and were told we could sit in the beer garden. When we arrived with our small dog the girl told us we could have a warmer seat and sat us inside. They were very attentive and even brought our dog a little water bowl. We’ve honestly never had a more welcoming experience with our dog in a local restaurant. Thank you! We’ll definitely be recommending!

The staff are very nice and helpful. It's not the bars fault but I hate the very busy road outside.

Attended a table quiz which was very enjoyable evening. Didn't eat and only had 3 pints of Carlsberg. They were quite flat, unfortunately. Service was good, however.

Loved it!! Came here with my family a couple weeks back for my husbands birthday, the food is absolutely gorgeous and great portions and a lovely variety of food to choose from on the menu, and the cocktails where beautiful as well. Highly recommend here for a wee bite to eat you’ll not be disappointed, The staff are great craic as well and very helpful and attentive.

Absolutely superb experience here recently! Steak sandwich was top notch and the Guinness was pure perfection. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great for a Saturday night. Will definitely be back. Really impressed.

Was here tonight.. we actually booked into hotel but booked here for dinner.... arrived 8pm ...for a birthday dinner never felt so rushed in a restaurant in my life.... starters arrived before drink an no sooner starters finished main was out immediately an starters plates still on table .. my steak was to me medium but was rare in middle an like rubber the girl who served us was so rude but the fella cudn do enough although they took steak's off bill as we never ate they charged us for all sides ...it was a rushed dinner so chefs cud go home...ruined birthday an wudn recommend this place staff cudn wait to get us of table

The atmosphere depends very much on who you are with, so that's not so much the merit of the restaurant, but food and service are perfect. Great variety, excellently cooked, friendly personnel.

This is not what it used to be.. since last summer quality is really not there.. only heard bad feedback.. we tried again just for cocktails, again, disappointed, the drinks were not feezy, no taste. Something was also burning in the kitchen, I'm pretty sure even next door could smell it

10 of us had a meal on the 11th March for my sons birthday the food was beautiful an the staff were amazing couldn't do enough for us .

My favourite pub in Newry. The staff are brilliant, friendly, efficient & organised. The food is amazing, so well presented & tasty! The acts they have on take it to another level. Always something going on. Cant wait to come back!

Nice place, menu didn't have a lot of choices but food was very good. Full bar and nice selection of beers on tap. Parking out front, coinveint location.

I visited this place on Christmas eve, after waiting nearly 15mins. To be served I asked for a menu only to be told by a young girl working behind the bar that they were fully booked and they would be closing at 5.00pm. I later found out from a more senior member of staff that they were serving food untill 9.00pm, and closing around 10 - 10.30pm

A bit of a misunderstanding about our order as people came in after us, got served & finished thier meal & there was still no sign of my starter, mentioned to one waitress, didn't seem to care, mentioned to another & she was a real gem, got everything sorted, after that, staff couldn't do enough, food turned out to be unbelievable, both starter & mains, Guinness was lovely too but the real 💎 was the waitress & because of her, I shall darken The Banks doorsteps again as I definitely intend to return...

What a great place! I arrived late afternoon on a motorcycle - the only one I'd say and still got treated well. The food was really good (spare ribs starter and the King prawn Thai curry they assured me they don't use monosodium gluconate (MSG)). The surprise of the night other thn the lovely company, was that they now sell Kilkenny on draught!!! That's amazing outside of Cork. I couldn't even find Kilkenny ale on draught in Kilkenny!! So if you like a really smooth ale, they have it. As it filled up it got loud with parties of people so conversation came to an end and the rain tossed down as I set off !

It OK. More than one floor and different atmosphere but you feel like security are watching every move even though just there for a couple of drinks following a christening making the visit, which was our first, uncomfortable

Can not recommend this place enough. To say the food was amazing is an understatement. Ordered two chicken fillet burgers (me & hubby) onion rings and kids goujons and chips. Also desert of apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding. Holy god they were unreal, all of it, tasted amazing. Husband said best chicken burger ever eaten and thats saying a lot he is very picky. The deserts while we were already in a food coma from the generous portions of the mains, we just had to try. They did not disappoint, so gorgeous, hot apple crumble with vanilla icecream and vanilla custard and fresh berries on the side. The sticky toffee pudding was equally amazing very large portion served with vanilla icecream in a river of toffee sauce and also fresh berries on the side (not soggy have rotten ones) Have to also mention the service, top quality, young lad (blonde with a bun) couldn't be more helpful or friendly, excellent customer service. Others checked on us and cleared tables but he was the good one, good customer service is what also makes a meal. So ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ from me, look forward to going back thats for sure.

Great spot with a great rooftop veer garden, glasses smelt bad tho, they need to sort that out, like every glass had that dirty glass smell... other than that great spot.

My partner and myself used to go to the Bank quite often and used to enjoy it. Yesterday after a long period of not going, we decided to go back. Results: both of us got extremely sick My partner ordered a sizzling prawns starter that came out cold She ate 2 or 3 of the prawns and left the rest. Unfortunately I decided to have the seafood tagliatelle for main course. Let me start we basics, the tagliatelle were overcooked. The prawns and the fish didn't taste right. We were so violently sick last night. Unfortunately we'll never go back again. PS the service and the staff were good, pity the food didn't match
