We went in with our german shepard and spaniel and had a great rump steak and a few beers....the landlady was brilliant !...our gsd is anxious and she gave them a treat as soon as we arrived and when another group came in with dogs and it get a bit...edgy....she was out and calmed all the dogs in minutes...a really friendly little pub:)

My wife and I enjoyed a stopover at the sun in last night. We arrived around 5.30pm and Carol was on hand to pour us a drink. We then enjoyed a lovely meal and more drinks then slept in our camper in there very quiet car park. In the morning we enjoyed a full English breakfast cooked to perfection. The pub goes back to the 1400s and has a warm friendly atmosphere. We can fully recommend a visit to the sun inn.

Lovely cosy pub at the half way point of a walk we did from Llangollen to Carrog. We caught the steam train back but there is also a scenic bus option that stops just outside the pub. Lovely woodturner inside for cold days and plenty of outside seating for sunny days in an amazingly beautiful setting. We didn't have time to eat but if the landlady cooks as well as she hosts it'll be fantastic!

We had a lovely 2.5 mile walk along the valley here from where we were staying and it didn't disappoint. Carol was very warm and welcoming chatting to us about the pub and it's history. The beer and food were really good, proper home-cooked pub grub. We'll be back for sure to stop over in the camper. Thank you!

Fantastic little pub. Great beer and food. Lovely, old fashioned atmosphere and they let us sleep in our van in the car park as we'd had a meal. WCs open all night too. Will definitely be back - although hopefully next time Grimsby will beat Wrexham 😅.

What a gem of a place ! If you want rural & to go back in time this place is a real find! The owners Jonathon & Carol have recently took over the premises which had been out of action for many years. Carol made us the most wonderful food, which is pub grub at a reasonable price, all cooked from scratch, we had our toddler with us and she bought us out all the things to keep her happy. Jonathon was a great host & looked after us with a good selection of drinks. The pub itself is 17th Century, very small & cosy, with just 3 tables, every one chats to each other & it’s great talking to the locals about the area.. We stayed overnight in our motorhome as this place is recommended in the camper van bible. If you’re looking for a friendly local pub, where the food is lovingly handmade, and you want a good old chit chat, whilst nestled is the most majestic & stunning surroundings, then this is your place. Jonathan & Carol if you get to read this we want to say thankyou so much for your hospitality as we didn’t get to say goodbye, we’ll be back tho 🌟💕😊

Unfortunately The Sun is still closed. The new owner told us he hopes to be operating in a couple of weeks (towards the end of October 2022) The previous owner/manager never managed to get the establishment open in the year or so that he had it and apparently 'did a runner'! Let's hope the new owners have more luck. When it was open it was a charming little village pub - friendly and welcoming.

Had a fantastic evening meal with my partner. Where do i start. We were welcomed by a member of staff as soon as we entered and were taken to a table. The food was top class a Prawn Coctail Starter, and a Lamb Shank for the main the meat just fell off the bone. All helped down with a pint of San Miguel for me and a glass of Pinot Grigio for my partner. We will be returning.

Possibly the worst food I've ever had the misfortune of eating, cheap ingredients, shocking service. I wouldn't feed my dog there. After a 30 minute wait the everything had different temperatures, the beans where cold with a 1/2 Inch skin... why to people go !! DON'T BE FOOLED BY MOST OF THE FAKE REVIEWS
