What a shame when you have a beautiful spot like this that is spoilt by the staff. The look on the faces of some of the staff made it clear they didn't want to be there but would probably be first in line on pay day.Sorry but got to pick the young lad cleaning tables, left then wetter then when he started, staff like this you do not need.Only saving grace sausage rolls excellent.

Awful cafe/restaurant - more like a canteen. Has a captive audience as no other option once you reach the top of the Great Orme. Waled in and the music was blasting out over the loudspeakers. Could not hear ourselves speak. No crockery, just paper cups. Staff unhelpful and unfriendly. Think the music is there to move people out quickly. We certainly did as despite sitting down for a few minutes, we could stand the noise no longer so went out into the cold to finish our drinks.

Visited for an early lunch today with my son and medium sized dog. Immediately asked when I entered if my dog was okay to come in too, to which they let me know that it is dog friendly. For lunch we bought a sausage roll and cheese and onion pasty. Affordable and good portion sizes. The staff were all friendly and welcoming.

Called into the Captains table with my husband after viewing the Great Orme. Had a nice meal, it was freshly cooked and tasty, plus had a nice hot cup of tea. Not expensive for what we had. There was quite a lot of customers there, its dog friendly which us nice to see and safer than leaving your pets outside. Toilets were lovely and clean along with the seating area in the cafe. Friendly gentleman cleaning the tables on a regular basis once people leave thier table after they've finished their food. A variety of food, cakes, sandwiches, ice cream available to choose from. Quite enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of the Captains Table.

Very nice fish and chips let down by inhospitable customer service refusing to let my wife have a cup or glass of tap water with our meal despite me buying a drink for myself. Bar closed due to lack of staff but if the place holds a licence to serve alcohol then I would question if they had in fact acted lawfully Needless to say one questions such miserly decision to refuse a customer a drink of tap water.gg

I really cannot understand the mentality of the bad reviews. The place was clean, efficient, well organised, well priced and full... which should speak volumes. Happy young efficient staff. Honestly taking a photo of the outside... really??? This is the West of UK on a high elevation so well exposed. The 'I wish I was on the set of some reality show but I'm not paying that much' brigade are getting tiresome. We have come through covid. Can we not be grateful and not so eager to find fault? Very nice place. Well done.

I love some of the reviews of what is basically a simple cafe. The plastic topped, fixed table and seating units, tell you this is not the Ritz, so the food is going to be basic. I must have been on a different day to some reviewers, the staff were really nice. Perhaps because we said hello, rather than waiting for them to greet us. The food is basic, no plates?-- the boxes save on costs and time to employ washers up. The portion average, costs average for what you get. A place to go if you need something to eat on a blustery mountain top.

I asked the young girl where their hand Gel was and she looked at me as if i was an alien, i asked 3 times are there any hand sanitizers, she said oh no we dont have any of those. OMG i felt so unsafe. My Husband went to the gents toilet and had to stand in a pool of urine and had no choice but to walk it out. We decided to take to tram to the top and grab a Latte as the weather was a tad bitter, i ordered 2 Latte's and noted that the member of staff despite using a commercial machine was not following basic instructions on how to make a Latte, our drinks were made and i took them outside and popped the lid off my drink and noted it looked more like a cappuccino with a thick layer of milk on top and despite stirring it, it never changed colour and remained pure white, i went back inside and asked for 2 more drinks explaining the absence of espresso in the drink, the same young lady barked that's how a latte is supposed to be, i politely asked her if she had been trained on how to make a latte to which she replied i have been doing this for 3 years, another member of staff asked if i would like a double shot due to the weakness which i thanked him for and replied yes, the 2nd Lattes were made and i noted she was using spatula on the milk which i immediately knew she had made the same mistake again, as she brought the drinks towards me i thanked her and she slammed the drinks on the counter and didn't say a word just gave me a look, as i was walking out i asked another member of staff if there was a manager i could speak to , the staff member was polite and said he would bring him to my table which he duly did, i took the lid off my Latte and asked for his opinion on what drink i had in front of me, he immediately said either a flat white or a cappuccino, i explained about the staff members attitude and also the error in making the drink namely too much air introduced into the milk , not a full shot of coffee dosed into the portafilter which are basic things you should know if operating a commercial machine, he apologized and offered to get us a 3rd Latte, he returned a short while later with new drinks and a full refund, sadly the drinks were no better than the first one .Customer service is very important to me and staff attitude from the one female staff member was disgusting, they should all be trained on any equipment they use as it’s really not hard to steam milk and dose a shot of espresso.

Nice large coffee station machine but unused today or staff don’t know how to use it, shockingly bad Cappuccino - just got milk with a dash of coffee - not a scooby clue how to serve proper coffee! The view at the summit of The Great Orme is spectacular and the welcome sight of a cafe is marvellous if one has climbed to the top, but the cafe itself is a big let down. Dull, flabby looking sandwiches sit alongside unappetising sausage rolls and lurid cream cakes. The smell of chip fat permeates the room. The coffee was the worst we have ever had. A poor old couple next to us sent back pizza that looked like it had been baked in hell - they were replaced with similar items. The welcome in the cafe was terrible. The handle bar moustached grey haired manager was incredibly hostile to the large group who were buying substandard food and drinks (as that was all that was available). Shocking that places like this still exist and that this is what poor visiting tourists have to endure. I would suggest bringing a packed lunch and eating it al fresco. Good luck!

I often drink coffee black and sugar free but needed to add four sugars to this to make it even bearable. I didn’t eat one but according to those I was with the pastry on the eclairs was over cooked. Also very limited (if any) options available to those with allergies or dietary requirements. The building is also very ugly which means it’s basically just a stain on the landscape that would otherwise be a beautiful view.

The young guy who came over tho was fantastic nothing was an issue and he was so poliet and friendly he is what gave you a 2 star review not the manager. Nice to have a cafe and toilets after a walk up to the top, didn’t seem much choice in cakes and not a single gluten free cake or snack. Just had drinks. Nice views sitting outside in the sunshine!

Visited the Cafe early on a weekday 25/02/19 so the cafe was not busy. We ordered coffee and enquired about gluten free options, as I am Coeliac. The male server checked with his colleague who pointed in the direction of the cake display saying the almond slices were gluten free. We noticed these cakes were displayed in the same cabinet with other non gluten free products, uncovered .When we tried to obtain more clarification regarding the food safety, the female staff turned her back on us making me feel as if I was a nuisance. Her response was rude and completely unhelpful. The staff clearly need to have proper training on dietary requirements for medical conditions.

Popped in after a walk up and around the Great Orme. Drinks were fine, if a little expensive and a bit disappointed no refills were allowed. Had the Egg Custard which was passable but lacked flavour. Wife ordered a scone that had clearly been frozen, had frost-burn as a result inside and was dry as a bone. Simply crumbled when she tried to butter it and when she took a bite, it removed 96% of the moisture from her body. She left it untouched. Pity as otherwise it was lovely. Service was friendly too.

Had fish and chips here last year and the fish was HUGE and the batter was crispy and the fish was delicious and probably the best fish and chips I have ever had. Visited again this year, a few days ago, and again had the fish and chips. Again they were superb. Coffee was very good too. Recommended.

The restaurant is set up to deal with a high volume of customers coming up on the frequent tram. When we went in it was quiet and they were staffed for it being busy. The young team only seem to have one gear and moved us through the self serve system efficiently and without manners. They were not rude just more as fast as I can get you processed the better. Great when busy BUT there was no one else in the queue. My feedback is simple. It’s ok to slow interactions down if circumstances allow - the experience was hurried and sterile and both were avoidable. Shame used to love this place as a kid.

Visited as a family of 5 aged 15-80 this weekend while using the Great Orme tram. We were in need of a warm drink and a snack but the quality of the items being served were pretty poor. Warm food looked like it was previously frozen then fried (we didn’t bother) and the cakes were dire (definitely not home made and not too fresh either). I wonder if the constant flow of guaranteed visitors and no competition have stopped any modernisation or investment which is such a shame as what fantastic potential this place has. Views spectacular though.

We visited as part of the cable car trip, and had a coffee, cake and sandwich. It was a busy Thursday in the school hols when we visited, and the team were working well to turn the tables. When we sat down at a very recently vacated table one of the team was straight to us wiping the table down. Although there looked to be a queue, as we were not having hot food there were signs to skip the queue and we were served in minutes. The home made sandwich was tasty. The egg custard we shared was also tasty. I think this was home or locally made and was exceptional. Seemed to have a family run feel and all staff were friendly.

Called in for a cuppa and a cake. Very busy. Don't like jam on my scone but I do like cream, they sell scones and jam but won't sell a portion of cream. Drinks OK. The hot dishes looked fine.

I had a superb fish n chips here this afternoon, and I mean superb. But sadly the service was a joke and had it not been for such a great piece of fish I would have walked and got my money back. It’s not like you have any choice to go to up the top of a mountain though

Fantastic views and to be fair nice fish and chips albeit more costly than most places Let down by untrained casual youth workers one on the till being claimed as only 14Manager jumped in took over ringing up the bill then overcharging on chips When I complained she was abrasive and curt claiming that I was wrong she caused an argument with me so I told her I would not come againRarther than leave it there she followed me to my table causing further upset to me when I got to my table I had had enough of her causing me embarrassment I told her to keep the food refund the bill I was leavingOther so called managers became involved as I just wished to be refunded as I was going to leaveThe so called owner came over at the till shouting get the police What the police was supposed to do I just don't know I mean all I wished was to receive a refund and I would be on my way hardly causing an offenceAs management was causing such difficulty about refunding me due to the inhospitality of the first female manager I had the displeasure of meeting I left without a refundWell to the owner of this restaurant I say this thankfully I paid with a credit card and the card issuer is repaying the money All I can say to you as a business owner your manager is rude overcharges and as she stated knows it all Next time I visit this wonderful area I will bring sandwiches or eat elsewhere On another point your restaurant is dirty the tables outside are cleared away but seldom washed or cleaned toilets are dirty but I suppose your hardly to blame for the use they haveThe use of employing cheap labour provides a service that would be best described as disfunctional and uninterested labour which leaves the customer waiting for service and mistakes happening far too often

Walked around and then up the great Orme to have our usual jacket potato, beans and cheese which we have every year when we come to Llandudno.Unfortunately on this visit the service was rather poor getting served the food as the young lads serving were too busy chatting about their social lives. Very disappointed that the jacket potato and beans were rather cold... and then one of the little waiters tried to take it away before I had even finished eating! Baring in mind I was in the middle of putting a forkful of potato in my mouth!

Stopped in for a coffee (the quiet boxing end rather than the busy canteen end) whilst at the top of great Orme. The service was rather slow even though the pricing was fine. The spectacular scenery deserves something a little more modern.

Spectacular views from the top of the Orme but the food at the Captain's Table was very disappointing, my girlfriend and I ordered fish n chips and the chips were full of bits and rock hard, also the batter on the fish was greasy

A small group of us went up the Orme on 25th May. Called in for a snack and soft drinks but were very disappointed to find the seating was attached to the tables and couldn't be moved. They were obviously designed to comfortably accommodate Mr and Mrs Average Build, however one of our party was pregnant and another was a bit overweight and they both found it extremely uncomfortable. Food, however, was very nice and the lady serving was pleasant and helpful.

We got off the tram at the summit and as it was overcast and drizzling we decided to have a drink in The Summit Restaurant and Bar. The prices in the restaurant were very good and the staff were working hard serving the customers . Plenty of different drinks available and various cakes and hot snacks. The only off putting thing was when a woman who might have been the manager came out moaning at staff about dirty cups and saucers on the tables but the poor staff were working and had only just finished serving the tram load that had just come in. Everything was very clean and tidy around the whole building inside.

We visited on very blowy day which left a need to watch out for accessibility and safety on the final flight of steps to the café. Sometimes a wall is not enough for stability. Need for proper rails here. Café good , loos good. Views good . Footwork tricky.

Cafe restaurant was a bit disappointing. Effectively a greasy spoon at the top of tramway. Was a nice walk around the walled country park which was 3km and burned off some of the yellow food consumed in the cafe.

It was rather quiet when we visited probobaly as it was rather cloudy when we arrived. However as we enjoyed our soup and buttered roll the clouds lifted and the scenery was revealed. A little costly at just under £12 for two soups, rolls and a coffee but I suppose it is to be expected in such a location. Staff were really helpful and friendly even to a couple of rather rude customers.

Self service cafe, clean, pre-prepared food, slightly over priced. Minimum presentation or garnish on any dish. The seating in the cafe is fixed to the floor so there is not enough room for a larger customer to get on a seat by a table. There are no tea spoons, just wooden stirrers for hot drinks. There are no low calorie sweeteners provided, just sachets of white or brown sugar. The staff do not seem to be very happy at their work and interact with the customers only when spoken to directly.
