Love street food chef food is always top notch and staff are always lovely

I really want to love this place, but the additional costs for very small amounts of cheese and guacamole are extortionate... If you like a hefty burrito with all the trimmings, it can get pricey. The staff are always kind and friendly, and there's a lovely vibe, but I just can't justify it.

Overpriced & tiny portions. £1.10 extra to add the tiniest sprinkle of cheese onto a protein bowl!!

I came here last night (20/7) for dinner and was disappointed by the portion sizes. My partner and I both ordered regular-sized burritos, but mine was about half the size of his because we were served by different people! I paid £8.75 for what was supposed to be a regular burrito, but it looked like a small one and still left me hungry after. It was frustrating to see such a disparity in portions, especially given the price. To improve, I suggest implementing better standardisation in portion sizes, as I noticed significant differences between each server. Overall, the food tasted great and the staff were really friendly—they just need better training.

Normally great but had a really slow service today, typically at a time when in a real rush. Ordered 5 hours in advance on the app and still had to wait 20mins with my baby crying in the car 😭

Went today with my mum, the staff were great and the tacos were delicious. Will come again.

Tasty burritos, tacos and quesadillas, including vegetarian and vegan options. The portions are more than generous. The service is quick and always very friendly. Sadly there is no seating area.

Ordered on Uber eats. Quesadilla with chipotle mayo & salsa and nachos. The mayo and salsa was on the bottom of the tray with the nachos on top and quesadillas on top of them. So by the time it got to me is was salsa & mayo soup with soggy nachos and the quesadillas were falling apart. Basically it was a tray full of slop not even fit for my dog……. Absolutely disgusting 🤮

Great burritos, really yummy. Last time we ordered though did so online. Set a pickup time, which was automatically put back over a half hour, then when I arrived it was so busy I had to ask them to do my order, so it was then 20 minutes later than that. They don't prioritise online scheduled orders, or even remember them it seems. Great food but poor organisation, which makes the whole experience a bit frustrating.

Normally absolutely love street food chef but today was absolutely appalling, food was stunning as usual, but the service was genuinely shocking. The atmosphere from entry has icy and unwelcoming, older grey haired man behind the counter (said Richard on the receipt, but unsure) was clearly having a bad day, as we noticed from the beginning that he was very rude to every customer and employee that he encountered. Every thing we said to him was met with a rude sarcastic comment and eye-roll, think he thought it was under his breath but we could obviously hear him. Felt uncomfortable and intimidated the entire time, we got the impression that had we not been two young women the service would have been better. At many points we gave him grace that we may have been mistaking his attitude, but after the appalling experience I can truly say that he was just a rude man. Me and my family have been regulars at sfc for several years, and always make a point of recommending it. We make the choice to order from the store rather than getting it delivered because the service is normally wonderful. After today we will be honestly never returning. As two women who work in hospitality, we know what it can be like, but this was excessive and intimidating. This man needs customer service training, and if he is a manger, I feel genuinely sorry the employees. Anticipating someone from Sfc responding so I can provide more details. Thanks.

The food in the Sharrow takeaway is loads better than Arundel Gate. Disappointed after spending £36 on food. Ended up back here for the desserts!!

We recently tried The Street Food Chef for the first time. I had high hopes for trying this restaurant but unfortunately they fell somewhat short. My partner and I ordered two burritos, his was tasty but mine was disappointing. We arrived at around dinner time which may have been our mistake picking to visit at a busy time. My burrito was made with the last remaining scraps from the containers. I initially thought that this was as they were running out but following putting the remaining scraps into my burrito they replenished the stock. Despite ordering a large burrito there wasn’t enough of some of what I wanted to even fill the serving spoon, I was therefore left with a burrito with underwhelming amount of filling. They also forgot the sour cream from my order which paired with the dehydrated ends of the bean chilli the burrito was extremely dry. I added Greek yogurt which did help somewhat. My partner order his burrito once the stock had been replenished and nothing was missed from his. His was much more flavourful and not dry at all. Staff were friendly but were busy and in each other’s way which may be the reason for the missed sour cream from the order. I think if we were to visit again we’d try the city centre location instead.

Food was delicious and staff were lovely as always! However, really not a fan of the new layout with it being a smaller premise. There's not enough room for the subway style queue which leads to confusion, and you can see too much of the clutter front and back. The poor staff had hardly any room to move about. Definitely think the old layout was the best way of doing things!!

I found this place a while back and finally got to eat here! It’s hidden and a secret gem! The restaurant is decorated brilliantly! We got the beef tacos, which were so delicious and were beautifully made! The quesadilla was also lovely! We had a side of fries which completed our meal! Everything was spot on!

The best burrito place in Sheffield. Have been coming here for years and all the staff have been exceptional with service. The food is 10/10 can’t stop, won’t stop consuming.

I have ordered from here so many times since I first discovered it last summer, the food is seriously amazing (most of the time) and I highly recommend the quesadillas if you go here! The prices are also really reasonable here too. The staff, however, are unfortunately incredibly incompetent. Almost every single one of my many orders from here have been wrong, but I have never complained as I hate complaining and the food has always been good anyway, or I've already got home. My very first order I received plain rice instead of Mexican rice and black beans instead of pinto beans. Next time, I paid extra for cheese but didn't get any, I have been given the wrong salsa a few times; there's too many mistakes to keep count of. Recently, when I was waiting for my order, I heard one staff member say to another when making my quesadilla "which salsa on this one? I'll just go green for veggie" (as I ordered jackfruit). Luckily, he guessed right and I did order salsa Verde, but hearing that orders are made by guessing items honestly doesn't surprise me due to all the mistakes. They don't seem to print off receipts or write down the orders. Tonight, the nachos I ordered came with no sour cream and no cheese! Even though this is one of my favourite places to eat, I honestly think I have to finally stop going here now because I'm so sick of not getting what I order. These constant mistakes are driving away regular customers! It's really unfortunate :(

Come today nice and friendly team. The only downside was having to try and get in the shop as its only enough room for two people! So everyone who was ordering had to stand in the rain and cold. If this was rectified and I would be giving this business a five-star review.

I'm not ashamed to say that i've been a customer for over a decade now (mad!) & I still absolutely adore SFC. From hangover brekkie burritos on the couch to stuffing my face of an evening - I'll always keep coming back. Keep fighting the good fight, comrades! Tried it bc I've seen massive intrest in that place few days ago...totally don't get why tho. Tortilla 5/10, and amount of rice is.... Like eating rolled mexican sushi. Meat 4/10 and it suppouse to be good. Half an hour later Im on toilet writing a review🤣. Something went wrong I think. I was a mistake to check the reviews after going there and find out the higine is optional.

We really like this place but the last 2 times we have been there we have seen that the guys who prepare the burritos do them with bare hands, grab the rice with hands , touch the screen on the left of the food bar and then touch back the burrito fillings. This is really not OK for food standards and I think this is caused due to a lack of supervision from the owner of whoever is in charge. Please sort this out it’s getting quite grim. THANKS

Bro was waiting for my burrito, obviously can see the guy through the open kitchen right infront me, he literally picks lettuce out of it, tried to eat it, fell out of his mouth and back in the burrito, wrapped it up and tried to serve it to me 😂😂😂 I was like bro not being being funny but what you doing? Wasn’t gonna leave a review but he forgot to put sour cream in the second one he made and that was the last straw for me. Also the fella didn’t even say sorry 🤣 not majorly pressed by it, guy just messing around but like bruh sort my burrito without eating it and sort my sour cream next time. Ordered takeaway delivery and it's the great high quality fresh tasty food that I have occasionally in the City Centre. Highly recommend the 3pc tacos - generously filled and crisp tortilla with amazing taste, genuinely the best fast food Mexican I can find in the UK. Would also recommend the tortilla chips they sell too, super fresh! Will definitely be ordering takeaway again from here - came just as served if you were getting lunch there.

Great place, fun staff, and so much choice. They can do gluten free versions of most dishes and are very helpful. We had a naked chicken molè and it was delicious. I just wish there were more branches of the store around. Great place, love recommending it to anyone.

Lovely burrito but they have crossed out cheese with a black permanent marker on the menu and now charge £1 extra for it which is a bit mean.

You guys have never let me down before, but today was EXTRA special. The ratio of the ingredients was perfect, and I particularly enjoyed the fact the lettuce and sour cream was slightly off to one side so I could enjoy the Mexican hot and have some relief in the next bite. Who ever was making the burritos today was on top form and deserves every praise! Absolutely phenomenal, thank you!

Scored it a one for valve for money payed 9.50 for a large burrito that wasn't actually that large ..tasted a bit bland asked for a spicy one couldn't taste the spices

Not sure if they were having a bad night but the tacos were really poor. Barely any filling in them — most of the shell was empty! The taco shells were bland too. If you're looking for proper tacos you won't find them here, unfortunately.

What a fantastic experience. Not really knowing what I wanted to eat everything was explained to me what thing are in detail. Although I couldn’t remember what I agreed for him to put in the Burito ( which is a shame as I’d order exactly what I had next time) The meal was definitely 5* And the lemon/lime slush was fantastic. I run a long established Motorcycle Training scheme in Sheffield ( Over 40 years ) I recognise the importance of providing a quality all round service to the public. I love the food here. Some people have questioned the "authenticity" of this place. This may not be the spitting image of food you'd find on the streets of Mexico but authenticity is overrated. The food is delicious. The meats are lovely and contain deep flavours. The salsas are great. They have Mexican sodas (Jarritos). I get the nachos as I eat a gluten free diet. I'd love it if they had corn tortillas for their tacos. You should eat here.

Tried to get lunch here. Three members of staff (two of whom were behind the counter) didn't even deign to look at me let alone serve me. They've lost a customer.

We tried Veg Pizza it was really good. Loved the taste and texture of the Pizza. So soft base. Really fantastic place.

As a native New Mexican, I have been unable to find any places that make a decent burrito...until now! Love all the veggie/vegan options and appreciate the levels of spice (the hottest was actually just above my limit! Haha.) Would recommend though, as the food is delicious, customisable, and the service is super friendly and speedy.

Only two things in life are certain: 1) I will literally never, for any reason, set foot in Champs 2) A Sharrow Street Food Chef Burrito will bang When Buckin' Burrito on Eccy Road closed down a couple years ago I was left with a huge burrito shaped hole in my life - a huge burrito shaped hole I assumed impossible to fill. However, stumbling across Sharrow Street Food Chef has been a revelation akin to that of Jim Carrey at the end of The Truman Show, hitting the horizon with his storm-battered boat and realising his entire life has been lived as a lie. If, in some miraculous act of God, Buckin' Burrito was to return to Sheffield, I wouldn't even bother going back. Such is the excellence of Sharrow Street Food Chef. The staff are simultaneously polite, approachable, competent and physically attractive, which makes the entire process from start to finish a pleasurable one. The little street-side collection window allows you to observe the entire operation as your food is prepared, a process similar to that of having a child and watching it develop gracefully into a human being. (Probably, I don't actually have any children. That I know of.) My only issue with Sharrow Street Food Chef? I wish there was space to sit in and eat, purely because this is where I would bring all my future dates. I'm convinced any girl that I'd taken to this beautiful establishment would be so impressed by my choice of eatery that she'd immediately fall desperately in love with me; swooning in the submission of my excellence like a leper falling at the feet of Jesus. Also, sell merch. I want a Street Food T-shirt. Five stars.

The burritos are simply unrivalled in Sheffield. There is just so much flavour in them is mind blowing. I go to the street food chef every time i go into Sheffield now and it never ceases to amaze me. 100% recommend

We had these INCREDIBLE burritos for our wedding and everyone said that it was the BEST wedding food they'd ever had!! We've been here everytime we've come to Sheffield (which is a LOT) and they never disappoint! That staff are always so lovely and super friendly - we highly recommend the breakfast burritos can't find anything like it anywhere else!

Fresh, tasty and refreshingly varied Mexican food. Always worth the wait if they're busy; I'm yet to enjoy a better burrito anywhere else! (I used to regularly visit Arundel St prepandemic, and can confirm both locations offer great food, whether you eat in or takeaway.) My current favourite is the Express Burrito and a cheeky churro, of course!

This used to be my favourite burrito place in Sheffield, but I feel the standards have fallen, hopefully this is just due to the pandemic.

First time calling at this store, did click and collect which was seamless. There are queues outside but it was a busy day anyway. Food was amazing as always 😀

One of the best in Sheffield. The Monterrey jack cheese brought the whole burrito together like a cheesy glue! I like the express box idea as well, I cannot remember whether you had that before COVID or not but if not, keep it!

Nice fresh food, clean environment. I would prefer slightly more vegetarian and vegan options but there are options available.
