Spending a week at Gleneagles in Scotland is nothing short of a luxurious retreat into elegance and charm. Known for its stunning grounds and top-tier hospitality, this iconic hotel offers an experience that lives up to its world-class reputation. One of the highlights of the stay is undoubtedly the breakfast at Strathearn Restaurant. Dining here is a treat for all the senses. The restaurant offers both an à la carte menu and a buffet line, catering to every palate. The selection is wonderful, featuring a wide array of delectable options. A personal favorite is the Scottish smoked salmon—rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The quality of the food is matched by the impeccable service, with the staff ensuring every meal is an experience to remember. Beyond breakfast, Strathearn continues to shine with its sophisticated offerings for other meals, making it a culinary destination in itself. The charm of the restaurant is enhanced by its elegant ambiance and interior, making every dining moment feel special. The facilities at Gleneagles are absolutely lovely, combining historic feel with modern comfort. Every corner exudes sophistication, from the beautifully maintained gardens to the beautiful interiors of the hotel. Whether you’re enjoying a leisurely stroll or unwinding in the spa. I love the heated pool and it features both indoor and outdoor too. Gleneagles also boasts an array of activities and amenities to keep guests engaged, whether it’s golf on the renowned courses, falconry, or simply basking in the beauty of Scotland’s countryside. In conclusion, a week at Gleneagles is a blend of relaxation, indulgence, and adventure. The stunning facility, the exquisite dining at Strathearn, and the warm, attentive service create memories that will linger long after departure. Highly recommended for those seeking an unforgettable Scottish getaway.

Breakfast is great, service is excellent. So much choice of breakfast items, everything is cooked lovely, i grabbed items from the buffet. Links, hash brown, potato scone, sourdough bread, bacon and other items, impressed with the scones, nice and crispy and not burnt to hell like everywhere else. The Stornoway BlackPudding could be better, i would use the Charles macleod brand opposed to Macleod Macleod. Either way, it comes in your room fee, the foods great, the service is great, thoroughly recommend.

My wife and I along with friends came to this restaurant in September for Sunday lunch. Very disappointed with the food. A 5star hotel that couldn't make simple roast potatoes and their roast beef was tough. For the price we paid, we expected better quality. We won't be rushing back

Such a lovely restaurant! This is where breakfast is served every day, you can do a la carte or do the buffet, or both! Infinity of options to choose from, I think it’s by far the biggest selection I have ever seen on a breakfast buffet, not only great selection but amazing quality food! We also hosted some friends for dinner at this same restaurant and the dinner was just outstanding, from the service, the selection of champagnes and wines, the food, everything was 10/10, we had such amazing evening with live music on the background. I didn’t take any photos of the evening as I didn’t find appropriate doing so in front of our guests, but they were also delighted by the whole experience. The dress code is more casual for breakfast, but definitely dress up for lunch and dinner, such a beautiful and fancy restaurant.

We visited for a special occasion and were not let down. The service was incredible (such friendly and helpful staff) and we felt very well informed about our meal choices. It is a fine dining experience - I had the cheese soufflé to start which was divine - a nice portion that didn't fill me up too much. I shared the Beef Wellington (which is recommended for two people) - it was cooked to perfection and the best I have had. I was full for pudding but still managed there chocolate dessert - which was rich but still manageable. The staff were very attentive and there was some lovely live piano music. The pianist even performed some requests and came to chat with us - it really tied the whole atmosphere together.

This is a fine dining experience with fine dining prices. Sadly the service was inconsistent with either too many staff or no one to be seen. The food was delicious. The smoked salmon and scallops starters were fresh and tasty. The roast from the trolley was cooked to perfection. The sweet was a bit of a let down and the £13 supplement for cheese seemed a bit of a rip off

Unlike many of the reviewers here, we shared a delightful dinner at the Strathearn. Food was refined, service was attentive, prompt and personable, and the setting is stunning.

It's a real shame. The building and the staff deserve so much more. Let down incredibly by the food. It's not even the cost that's the problem. Although you are paying top of the range prices, you can usually accept it under the circumstances being at the famous Gleneagles. However when food is this poor it does make you wish you waited for Restaurant Andrew Fairlie which isn't that much more expensive. Avoid and wait for Andrew Fairlie to have a space open would be my advice.

Sunday lunch in the Strathearn restaurant is quite simply perfection. The restaurant has recently had a full refurbishment including an elegant conservatory, which tends to be the most popular area in the restaurant to dine. We chose the three course lunch which was fabulous. Excellent service with a relaxing atmosphere.

Great food from very attentive staff but very disappointed with the lack of dress code. One party had diners turning up in jeans and a hoodie. Not what I expected from this standard of hotel.

Lovely experience all round. Venison was excellent. Portion sizes were great, with the addition of sides resulting in a very filling meal. Staff were attentive and food was timely. Would return.

We had originally booked into the Andrew Fairlie but sadly this was cancelled due to a member of staff testing positive for C19. The hotel graciously rearranged our booking for the Strathearn. Having seem the other reviews on Google I was pretty apprehensive. This was quickly put to bed: the staff were charming and very attentive. The food was even better, my tip is to make sure you eat anything this restaurant serves with venison, it is quite divine. Prices are steep but we thought the quality of the food, surrounds and service justified it. The restaurant has struggled with getting enough staff in over the last few months of C19 reasons, it seems they are now back to their best!

We had a booking for 23rd June. It was cancelled on the day. We explained it was a special occasion, they reinstated the booking during the day, by which time we had booked elsewhere. We had no signal so messaged at 5pm to say the 6.30 booking was not needed. At 7pm we were messaged to see why we were not coming. If you want a fine dining experience may I suggest you go elsewhere. This was not the experience we had been looking forward to for several months.

Limited menu on the day I visited. Average food. Bad service. We were seated in a very bad location despite many tables in better location being vacant. Never will be back. I really don't recommend this place.

Starter and desert fine; main course ‘meant to be fillet steak’ terrible. No idea who our server was - 5-6 different individuals, not co-ordinated, huge wait between courses. No management, unprofessional, incredibly bad organisation. Been many times but worse ever since ‘new restaurant’ opened.Just lost another repeat customer. Management hang your heads in shame. 1out of 5 is being generous

Excellent game, wine, and dessert options. The venison and raspberry soufflé were the stars of the evening. It is a fine dining experience, so be prepared to pay at the higher range for a three course meal and wine, and expect smaller portions as is common with high end restaurants. Service made us feel very welcome. Head to the Century Bar after dinner for excellent cocktails.

Went for Sunday lunch as a party of four. The service was excellent as was atmosphere with a pianist playing in the room. For a starter I had the Hebridean crab, my wife had smoked salmon which is cut at the table and two salmon to choose from. For main we all had the roast beef(medium, medium rare) which is also cut at the table. For dessert, as I enjoy whisky, I opted for the caramel chocolate tart, smoked almonds and Talisker whisky ice cream which was fantastic so if you like whisky I would definitely recommend this! For the three courses we were in there for around 2 hours. I think our bill was around £200 as we all had three courses and there was also 2 glasses of wine. A small glass of Shiraz being £17 I believe. Food, atmosphere and service were superb, we all enjoyed our time there.

A truly underwhelming and costly evening. Really disappointed. We had booked dinner for my family to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday. Our table was out in the back corner which is under a conservatory and outside the main restaurant so you can actually hear the music and instead you have a view of the area where the waiters and waitresses ring up the bills and store the spare crockery. It was drafty and lacked atmosphere. Then I looked at the menu, £65 for 3 courses. I am vegetarian (which they knew in advance) and there was 1 main to choose from which was disappointing. I looked at the wine list - extortionate costs for some average bottles of wine. We only wanted wine by the glass and it appeared only two were available and they had run out of the cheaper one - surprise surprise. The food came and it was unimpressive. My vegetarian option was the standard beetroot and goats cheese - quite bland, not imaginative and it was small do I had to ask for more bread. The other starters arou d the table were ok. Then the main came, glad we ordered extra sides (for extra an charge of course) because the portions were disappointing again and the food was average in flavour. Then dessert - I had to prompt for the dessert menu as we had been sat for a while unattended and were now 2 hours into our meal and starting to get hungry from the lack of first two courses. 3 out of 5 of our party wanted the earl grey souflé, it looked great when they went out to the other tables. But of course, they had run out. So we had to choose between the 3 desserts on the menu. Again a huge disappointment. We didn't take any photos of the food because it wasn't worth it. I took some pictures at the end so you can maybe sense how disappointed I was with the whole thing. £450 and 2.5 hours we won't get back...

Fantastic place with wonderful service. I went there on a cold November day and ordered the most delicious caramel apple crumble to take away and they threw in some custard in a separate container. Lovely staff and a lovely shop.

Run down and a bit of a maze to get to our dull room. Double yellow lines outside of the hotel and all around. Found an overpriced car park and walked in the rain carrying our luggage etc., then found out we would have to pay excessive parking charges as we wanted to leave our car parked for our 3 day stay. Went there for our 60th wedding anniversary and stayed in Perth for under 3 hours! Huge disappointment and will not return there. Maybe a different hotel and part of the town would have been better for our needs? The hotel management was very understanding and professional and refunded us without any quibble. Seems that parking in Perth is very lucrative but visitors can not be happy with this. A young man who was delivering leaflets approached me and said " hey AMIGO do you want to buy any drugs" I am 78 yrs old. Cant blame the Salutation for these things but I can see why they would have problems in this area of town and the state of our economy.
