New landlord, good atmosphere, sport on, big improvement well done Richard and Claire

What has happened to this pub? This place should now be put in a war zone. The landlord was having a go at a lady as they were not local so she couldn’t have a say on the argument, so was then told to leave. We kept quiet as we were not locals, the service by the landlord was shocking no hello, no thank you. Give it 1 year max for this place to go under. Short sighted not treating the passing trade well.

Absolutely gone downhill! Been in tonight and witnessed the bar staff have a go have a lady for no reason he then told her she wasn't a regular therefore her opinion didn't matter. Absolute shambles. Disgusting behaviour. I won't be returning.

Disgusting behavior! I don't know who the new owners are but wow. Today we buried a family remember and called for drinks after. The new landlord who was overly proud of his position was showing offabout his aunt running another pub near by. Irrelevant. Then later turned on a grieving family who had been to the pub after a funeral. I honestly couldn't believe this. Gone are the days of locality. Such a shame to see a local pub turn so nasty. We won't be returning

Nice pint, bar snacks available. Play a game of pool or darts. Live music, and Dj on weekends. Over all a great night

Only went in to watch a pool match but every thing spot on , Star used to be one of my local back when I lived on Hoyland Common, still enjoy a night on Hoyland Common

A unexpected visit but very nice a pleasant service and good pint.

Friendly place, great crowd. Standard Craft Union pub, typical Molson-Coors and Heinekin range. In spite of the pubcos name, no craft beers or cask ales.

Im security at the star new landlord and landlady are lovely bar staff and dj made feel welcome by all were like 1 big family the star family cum join us good atmosphere friendly customers lots of fun and dancing every1 joins in karaeoke serves a good pint all welcome
