Tesco Cafe in Barnsley

We regularly stay for coffee after shopping. I asked for decaff flat white ,Emily needed to go get beans on returning she proceeded to open the bag with her teeth ,I was appalled at the lack of concern for food hygiene. I approached Emily and referred to what had just happen, she just turned away and did not acknowledge me... maybe she doesn't have the knowledge..I work every day with food .. this is not good practise

I ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans beans came dry and potato was only half cooked it was very hard coffee late was very nice though

Not often I go into male Karen mode on here but unfortunately a few months ago I had noticed a member of the kitchen staff putting the meat thermometer in her mouth whilst checking them with the burgers! 🤮 which is a hygiene concern and has put me off eating here whilst doing the food shop/maybe other customers who witnessed this as well! Other than that, the other staff on duty in the cafe were friendly and attentive and the cafe is clean and nicely decorated. Would be 5 stars if it wasn’t for this incident.

Situated on the 2nd floor and have a lift or escalator to get it it. It is very clean and has plenty of seating. Food is great with a good choice. Staff a very friendly and helpful

Absolutely unbelievable. They put vegan food in with the meat breakfast even though it was a separate item. I can't believe that anyone could be so stupid!!

The hash browns were soggy and greasy. Not a fan of the herby sausages but apart from that was absolutely spot on. Piping hot too.

Shocking food my son found a hair in it they didn't care. Food cold and hard. Definitely won't be back.

I have never had such s bad breakfasts with my partner as the one this cafe has served us. Awful sausages, burnt toasts, hard as rock bacon, and almost raw eggs. I'm a frequent Tesco's customer but this was a huge mistake. Go somewhere else, you'll lose nothing here.

Café is modern and fresh looking, but the food was pretty awful. Not particularly cheap either. The markup on cold drinks is excessive.

Food was cold. No beans. No butter on toast. Definitely wouldn't recommend. Very expensive Not worth the money at all.

Yet again, they forgot something from the order. The food was cold, and meals get smaller. Wanted to give them another chance, but definitely never again!

Would have given 5 star until I noticed the large amount of dust on top of the smoke sensors over the top of our table and the extractor fan is clogged with dust again over where people eat. Come on Tesco get this cleaned.....

Breakfast was lovely as always but sent Coke Zero instead of Coca Cola. Might not seem like a big thing but I can’t stand Coke Zero and paid £2.45 for this item which I won’t drink.

Missing items (yule hot chocolate & millionaire slice). Food was cold on arrival so had to heat back up. Arrived on time.

Really overpriced for what you get. Ultimate breakfast sandwich tastes like cheap sausages that are boiled. The bacon is mostly fat and not crisp at all. As with the sausages, more like its boiled. Even if you ask for well done, you won't get it. The coffee costs about the same as Costa or Starbucks which is ridiculous. To say it's about £14 for a sandwich and a coffee it's pretty poor. Last time I'll be ordering here I reckon. It used to be good but it's been grim for awhile now.

WRONG EVERY ORDER!!! I even specifically asked in the note to get it right thistimme. Effing useless!!!!

Yet again a food item was left out. Last time received 2 drinks instead of 2 breakfasts. Think it will be the last time I will be ordering from them.

Water missing from the order. Not ordering again. I am beginning to wonder if people steal things because there is always something missing from my orders. The trouble is I have credit now from just eat or I would finish with them now.

Lovely breakfast. Still warm, not greasy at all. Eggs had soft yolks which never happens with take away breakfasts usually! “Proper” butter served as a side with toast. Very tasty. Will be buying again!

The best place for a breakfast bap. The choice of adding extras to a bap is always a plus. Food always arrives early or on time so I cannot complain. I absolutely love this place for breakfast 👍🏻👍🏻

Shocking 50 min wait for breakfast. Arrived cold had to complain. Partner had eaten theirs before mine came back. Service poor, food terrible & toilets were far from clean. Never use their cafe again

Was alright for what it was. The breakfast was decent, and plenty there for normal person. The wrap was quite small, a little disappointing for the price. But as a whole was a good breakfast and really fast delivery

Portions are small for the price

Our food took ages to come as it was a little busy and after a bit of a wait I was very disappointed when the kids meal was cold sausage, chips and beans. We ordered 2 ,breakfasts and they were the same. The meal over £20.00 and wasn't up to scratch. Will not be going back as it has really gone downhill.

Quick delivery - but food not very warm and got toast despite asking for fried bread - shame really - it is a nice breakfast but when they get it right its a superb breakfast

Ordered the brunch but they can't make poached eggs but can make fried and scrambled egg even though poached egg is just an egg cooked in water

No chips delivered with burger. Sausages well over cooked and not edible, couldn’t even cut into them

Ask for no tomatoes due to health reasons and both came with tomatoes on. Wrap was just like absolute mush and damaged. Avoid

snack melted because placed on top of hot breakfast - also I asked if possible for a flat mushroom instead of beans - the mushroom was the size of a fifty pence piece.. so ty but should not have bothered. other than that nice breakfast as always..

Wonderful breakfast and cooked verywell

Excellent breakfast, just a quick tip dont put the butter in with hot food because it melts haha there was nothing left in the packet. Very nice tasty breakfast.

Food was very nice, slightly on the cooler side but was expected as we live quite far away, driver seemed to go very scenic route on the map during delivery. We had breakfast food and it was presented lovely an tasted great just wish mushrooms were an option on breakfast :-)

Visited for lunch was in a rush so got it to take away. Perfectly cooked and red hot. Lattes are great and was served by friendly helpful staff all smiling. Everyone knew there job. Ample of clean tables waiting times as expected but pretty busy

Went to tesco cafe stairfoot barnsley i ordered soup which cost £3.95 and when it came i was shocked at the fact that i was delivered half a bowl.When i took it back i was told thats all you get.Wont be going there again

Great staff reasonable surroundings, fairly enjoyable food. Its nice but not ala carte so please dont expect miracles lol

Me and my family are currently back in barnsley visiting family as we live in canada and decided to stop of at the barnsley wombwell lane store for a quick takeaway coffee but was pleasently suprised on how the cafe looked and the atmosphere, didnt expect a supermarket coffee shop to look like a diner.we went about 5.15pm on a saturday and had coffee and cake we was served by two friendly pleasent guys called Gary & Josh they could have not done anymore for us.Overall a great visit real shame we have things planned while here or would have loved to try some food (i love the menu how it shows you a picture of each dish).Thankyou very much Tesco Cafe

We stopped here for lunch after a lengthy walk for our food shop. Ordered a fish finger sandwich that was £3.95 x 2. I portion of chips £1.25 and 2 pots of tea £1.50 x 2. Food was Tesco cheap version of fish fingers and tea bags. The bread was nice. The waitress who served us just plonked the food down without asking who ordered the chips and off she went. So service not great. I recently went to M&S cafe and had the same. The total was £18. The service was much better and the food was ten times better and well worth the extra £6.
