Oh my God, this is a place to be. My family from Liverpool came all the way and enjoyed every bit of the food. The vegetable soup was so delicious that we had to go with some take aways of it. The jolof rice still remains the best. The services were so good and environment so conductive. Weldone Spices African Restaurant. Your the best around.

The food was amazing. My friends and I really enjoyed it. I came all the way from London to this restaurant because I heard good things about it. And I definitely was not let down. As I said the food was amazing, service was impeccable and the owners even gave me and my friends a complimentary champagne to celebrate my birthday. I highly recommend this place!!!

Excellent customer service, delicious food with excellent presentation. Jollof rice is delicious & vegetarian. Free parking at the back with lots of spaces to park. Excellent Adult & Kids friendly.

Every time I have ordered food here the plantain is always either burnt or hard as a rock which is unimaginable that they see that and still server it to a paying customer. I have never left a review before but after what I received tonight, the stew was definitely from the bottom burnt part of the pot, it tasted so bitter I couldn’t eat it at all. It’s not that hard to refund the money back rather than serving that. And it’s always the African restaurant, you need to do better.

Nice but overcrowded on weekend nights

This restaurant needs to make drastic changes to the cooking staff. I’ve been familiar with this place l for the past 6 years. I use to go there all the time, now I only tend to go once in a while because I have moved out from the area. So at least once a year I come back and I am sorry to say that each time I come back I get sick and I get food poisoning from the food for some reason. This will be my last time ordering from here as I have had enough. They don’t even use spices to cook the food, the soup has no taste just pepper !!

Ogbono soup was terrible, not even cooked properly. Meat was raw, ended up in bin. Souse of the soup was like peper or tomato souce most. Never order again!

Food was great. There was a live-band playing on the night that added some more vibe. Space is quite small with high traffic it could be tight..

Food is on point. The service was slow as we had to wait 2 hours for our food but atmosphere was excellent.

Best in Moston for African food

So I have been ordering food from here nearly every week. I am very regular customer. So many mistakes has been made by the restaurant regarding my order but I never complaint. Last week I ordered food and again there was a mistake. I was given soup that I didn’t order. I called the restaurant and was promised by the lady on the call that they will give me an extra portion NEXT time I order. She first asked me if I can come and pick it up I explained I can’t travel there now and asked if the restaurant can drop it for me as it’s their fault - lady said they don’t have no one with car to drop it. I accepted that and agreed that next time the restaurant will give me an extra portion free of charge. I was about to place an order so I called them first and asked about the free portion - the lady started to make big issue out of it and unprofessionally another worker got involved commenting in the background. She asked me where is the portion of the wrong soup given to me , I said this didn’t the matter as she never mentioned this portion and she said next time I order I will be given free one. What if I ordered 2 months after, do you expect me to keep that soup for 2 months and bring it back? Is this a joke? I know the owners and they always make it fun in there. The lady who spoken on the phone is very very very RUDE. Spices was my favourite restaurant and place to order food on weekly basis. Now I won’t be ordering from there again…

Absolutely impressed by the newly refurbished restaurant. A class for sure. The drink glasses are clean modern and simply makes your drink even more enjoyable. It kinda take long to be served but very much worth the wait with the Home Made style hot tasty delicious àbùlà. Being their signature dish. No other restaurant in the UK makes it as good as African Spices on Moston Lane 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👍🏽

I go here for eba and egusi, the 1st time I went wasn't the best but they do good food as I always go now, they have a club african style on site , music, beer , guiness, it a good place friends. On moston Lane Manchester so drop in an visit friends everybody welcome.

Thanks not ever coming back.please cook your stew till it's done not just hit up the pepper sauce and think it's ready to be served. It has to be cooked properly and some manners please this is England and not Oshogbo.

Food is not fresh , hit and miss maybe u might cacth them when they finished cooking. Otherwise its frozen. They never have correct change either. And will intentionally not give you complete change. Cleanliness wise it's ok. Customer service does not exist, except if your agbero or a Marlian no offence. Pepper soup was full of cow poo turn black once microwaved from the shaki not been cleaned well. This is a honest non biased review. @spices you can do better

Much like a lot of the more recent comments, very rude staff overshadowing the benefits of trying to order what turned out to be good good for the most part. Trying to support local businesses and enjoy authentic food, however the tone of voice, the uncharming looks and unwelcoming cook push customers out the door. If you're willing to overlook all of this, the jaloff and stew were good. A shame

Good vibes... family friendly atmosphere

Ordered a takeaway from Spice for the first time yesterday: Egusi with assorted meat and a pcs of Fish. The egusi was nice however i would have expected more meat if this is to be considered an adult meal and value for money. instead i got one pc of beef half of it was on the bone very tough, a pcs of tripe which really should have been in bite size pcs and cow foot still on the bone with a whole lots of sauce, this was not a positive first impression especially since i really enjoy Nigerian food and like to support local businesses is this what we should expect fron this type of establishment.

Stay away from this restaurant. The food is not worth the abuse that comes with the customer service. They failed to acknowledge my order and hung up on me on two occasions when I tried to confirm they got the right order. They prepared the wrong meal and verbally abused me when I refused to pay and collect the food which wasn’t what I ordered. They called my mobile number (which I initially used to place the order) with a landline and when I hung up the call and blocked the number as the lady was shouting at me, she went on to call me with a mobile number to continue the abuse!

Excellent and Superb Restaurant

Been there a few times now. First two tines food was top notch and customer service was fine. Would have scored it 4/5. However would no longer recommend it following my visit yesterday when the food was mediocre and customer service was awful. Very hit and miss!

Lovely place to feel at home with great African food choices.

Horrible service. I walked in to a very rude middle aged woman taking orders. I only asked her what time they closed and she looked at me, hissed and just walked back into their kitchen. Absolutely shocking service. I took it on the chin and ordered a plate of pounded yam with egusi soup. When it arrived it had a fairly stale smell and when I requested for my soup to be changed due to the smell, this same dreadful woman insulted me and told me to get out of the restaurant. May I add that I had already paid, I didn't eat the food and I was told to leave. Of course I left in peace and felt robbed. Moving forward, I'd rather starve than eat there ever.

Paid £12 for one beer and a portion of jerk chicken and beef with rice. I received a small box of rice with one small piece of chicken and one small piece of beef both of which were inedible. I'm not a fussy eater but didn't manage one bite. Never wrote a bad review about any business but I'm Absolutey disgusted and feel like I've just been robbed
