Looking for an interesting place to eat on a rainy day during a short visit to Christchurch we discovered this cosy place. A warm and relaxed welcome, and explanation of ordering and the layout of the place convinced us this was the right place. Surrounds are relaxed and cosy. Food and service are equally high quality. Toilets are clean and thoughtfully kitted out. Would definitely recommend and visit again. By the way, the vegan cake is amazing - you would not know it is :-)

What a lovely little bar on Christchurch High Street close to the entrance of Christchurch Cathedral. Nicely decorated and a warm environment with nice seating downstairs and upstairs. Nice array of drinks including guest ciders and plenty of cakes to choose from. It's well worth a visit, and they have a free comedy night every fortnight in the upstairs room.

Terribly cluttered, venue with no space at the Bar/Till because its cluttered with cakes and foods, that are in containers that don't look very clean/ cleaned every night especially during this period with this virus. Coffee tastes burnt, on the back end like it's been over roasted by the supplier, they did have Oat milk luckly enough. This venue is also ment to run as a bar, but seems pointless to pop in with only 2 Keg lines and 2 BIB railway lines not cask no badges on the lines. It definitely suits the older generation but the bar / till area needs to be decultered and sorted out, they also have fridges which look like they might no of done Temp Checks on, as most fridges in hospitality have a chat to register fridge and freezer temps, to be honest I would be shock if this venue was rocking anymore the level 1 food hygiene standard. 10 July 24 Beer was served dead, I know that this venue uses BIBs not cask for the ale, but thie beer was far beyond turned. Unfortunately the manageres Jo has no fundamental understanding on hospitality and it shows, as simple processes that most hospitality venues would adhere too and thrown out of the window. Want good Quality of standard of a venue this isn't the place for you. This venue really needs to get rid of the lackluster management as with Jo in charge nothing will change.

Have eaten here before, unfortunately today the service was v slow. We were served a cup of tea before our meal, but we had drunk most of it by the time the meal arrived, some 25mins later. Perhaps be better to serve a drink with the meal and if it's tea, a pot would be more practical!

This is a really lovely place, the decor is great and overall it has a really nice feel, almost a bit like the cafe in Allo Allo...for those of us old enough to remember! 😆 For two drinks (wine and prosecco) it was around £12, which is excellent value, especially compared to Soho next door, which for the same two drinks is an obscene £20.50! It would be five stars for me had it not been for the really stark overhead halogen lighting. 'The Snug' conjures up ideas of cosy warm, ambient lighting but it is just far too bright....please dim the lights in there and make it really snug! 💕

This was my favourite go to eatery when visting Christchurch, however on Tuesday of this week, I took my 90 year old mum there for lunch, having raved about it. As usual the food and drink were good. The thing that really let you down was the staff. Sitting just a few feet away from the bar, with just 2 other people there, when I came to order our food I was told I needed to get up, walk 3 feet, and order at the bar, even though the lady behind the bar could clearly hear me. I would understand this if a) I had had to shout for her to hear me & b) the place had been busy. This would have been relatively minor, and would not have earned the 2 stars, had the 2 staff there then let my mother, who recently broke her hip, climb a steep flight of stairs to go to the toilet only to find out that it was out of order. Why couldn't someone have put a sign up downstairs , or said something to her when they saw her heading for the stairs?

Just went to the Snug in Christchurch. Even though I tried very hard to make conversation , most of the time it was greeted with silence. I was not made to feel welcome until I bought a drink. In fact the staff , Sarah and another were quite unwelcoming. When I left after buying a drink Sarah begrudgingly said “ see you “ in that tone that you think the person doesn’t want to see you again. In fact the whole time I got the impression Sarah couldn’t wait for me to leave. I don’t go out very often and the Snug is one place I won’t be going back to.

We popped in after a walk at lunchtime today with our dog. The staff are really friendly and brought over water for the dog immediately. Food and drinks wise, we had one juice, one coffee and two paninis and it came to less than £20. We had the tomato and mozzarella one which came with plenty of cheese and the vegan one which had walnuts in which gave it a good crunch. They also came with coleslaw, a small salad and some crisps, which for £7.25 is very good value for money. All of the lunch menu is under £9 per item so we'll definitely be going back for more as it's so affordable and the people are nice.

AVOID! What an absolutely awful experience. Initially chose to order from Pizza Express as they quoted a convenient delivery time of between 20 and 35 minutes. Food was eventually delivered after 1 hour and 45 minutes. Grandson had already fallen asleep without dinner. Pizzas were barely lukewarm, doughballs totally cold. Only positive was the cheerful delivery guy!
