Super friendly restaurant and community initiative working as a non profit organisation. Food was delicious and service was second to none. Food was inventive and a nice change from fish and chips and standard pub fare. Great vibe and atmosphere. Everyone seemed so happy and enthusiastic. Will definitely come again when next visiting the Gower. Thank you

We first went here in 2021 and were blown away by the variety and flavours. This year, the food was good, hot and well cooked but not very inspiring. A little overpriced and there wasn’t as much choice as when we went last year.

We chanced upon this restaurant and were made to feel most welcome. The food was imaginative and really enjoyable. Great gluten free options and plenty of vegan recipes too. They even allowed our dog into the restaurant.

Small portions, tepid food, gristly meat and dry potatoes. Gravy was nice though. I left hungry. I would recommend going somewhere else.

This is our third experience of The Shared Plate and it just seems to be going downhill. We admire the principles and objectives of The Shared Plate, that’s why we don’t mind paying over the odds to eat here but there are limits. The soup was tepid. The main courses were not warm and while we tolerate a lot when we share mutual objectives with a place I cannot eat cold Yorkshire pudding, the replacement was still not hot. The cauliflower cheese which arrived after we had finished lunch but that was partly our fault, was the only part of the meal that was hot and even then the bits that had not been pinged by the rays of the microwave weren’t warm. The staff kindly agreed not to charge us for this and we may just have let them off this unfortunate experience but when I got to the till not only had the cauliflower cheese been included but so had an extra beef dinner. I queried this and got a new bill, this included an extra pork dinner. The fourth attempt at getting the bill right was a success. Sadly, as we admire the enterprise, we will not be revisiting and my advice to others would be find somewhere more deserving. I know the excuse will be that some staff did not turn up but quite frankly I am getting tired of anything that goes wrong being anybodys fault but those present. Time to put the good back in service.

We stopped in not expecting to find a table, but they found us a space, and we are glad they did. What a real gem The Plate is, a wide range of dishes from differing influences, all lovingly prepared and very tasty. Also, we must note, portion sizes are perfect, allowing for a two or three course meal without feeling bloated and having over indulged. To combine this with the great cause it’s been set up to advance, this is not only a great place to eat in its own right, but it is also having a positive impact on the Swansea community. All in all, a great experience, one that we will be repeating as often as we can.

Amazing food, great atmosphere, epic menu with lots of things from around the world! Very friendly service so would 100% recommend! Stephen (our friend) even said he would go vegetarian with how good the Caribbean pumpkin curry was!

Absolutely love this place. We first ate here (lunch) the day after it opened in May 2021, having stumbled across it during a trip to Mumbles. We loved it so much we went for Dinner during our subsequent trip and have booked to go again this month (Nov 21). The staff were really friendly and told us it’s a not for profit community interest establishment, they strive to use locally sourced, in-season ingredients. What a great ethos! Food was healthy, wholesome, nutritious and most delicious. During lunch we had the most amazing rhubarb tart I’ve ever tasted. Our Dinner trip included an African dish that was apparently a recipe devised by an African refugee who worked with them (I think Somalian but unfortunately can’t remember), it was incredibly tasty, absolutely delicious. The atmosphere and decor is great, has a lovely Bistro feel. Can’t wait to go back, highly recommend - 10/10.

First visit after recommendation from family. Warm friendly environment with good background music. Both waitresses really helpful and friendly. Vegetarian and non veggie options both excellent. Some great local ingredients cooked perfectly without over elaborating. Reasonably placed drinks. My lemon some was perfect. For the price it was very high quality. Will definitely be back.

The food was excellent, freshly cooked and locally sourced. The wine pairing was also excellent as recommended by the waitress. All flavour combinations were well thought out and nothing on the plate was unnecessary.

Came here for dinner. The restaurant has a lovely ambience. We had the mussels and frites. Everything was tasty and fresh. The only complaint would be the portion size was on the small side.

We came across the Shared Plate by chance, as didn't find it by searching for restaurants in the Mumbles. The food was interesting, well-presented, well-priced, great ingredients, and totally delicious. All the staff were incredibly genuinely warm and helpful. Excellent chef brought our food to the table... such a great touch. Cannot recommend this place enough, and wish the Shared Plate a long and prosperous future.... keep doing what you're doing!

Cannot fault this restaurant. Visited on a busy Sunday, but such a lovely relaxed place. Service was fantastic, food absolutely delicious. Best roast potatoes I’ve had in a restaurant. Prices incredibly reasonable. Have just found out that it’s a CIC so feel even better that we went there and not a chain. Would thoroughly recommend and will return at some point during our stay.

Came across this delightful place whilst on holiday, there were 5 of us and a dog. A table was made up and the dog was welcomed. Water was given to. My 15 year old daughter would have sat here all day. It’s a very chilled atmosphere, something for everyone on the menu. The food was delicious all locally sourced. This is a non profit establishment with all monies going back in to the community. Staff friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

My partner and his family visited in November. We were made to feel very welcome. Great ales on tap. We were lucky enough for them to let us eat a takeaway in there as the restaurant we planned to go to had double booked which was very kind of them. We had a great night and was so privileged to hear Hermione the bar manager sing in a cappella an Irish folk tune. Wow we couldn't hear a pin drop when she sang. It literally took my breath away. Definitely recommend this place and we will definitely revisit .

Skinny Caramel latte and fruit porridge. I have never seen a breakfast look so amazing but this also tasted amazing too. I can highly recommend this little coffee house a visit not only for the beautiful food and beverage but for people watching too. Best place I've been too.

I have waited several weeks before writing this. I rarely post negative reviews, particularly not for small independent venues. But the price of 2 pieces of cheese on toast costing £10.95 is still irritating me. I didn’t look at the bill until sitting back down and my bank account flashed up the amount. I went back to the counter and asked if this was correct. Then to add insult to injury, we had nearly finished our coffees and my wife went to the counter to check where the cheese on toast was. No apology from the staff, and they said it was waiting in the kitchen as they couldn’t remember what table ordered it. You would expect sour dough bread or some, artisan crafted speciality bread and a fine local Welsh mature cheddar for this price. What we received was bog standard supermarket sliced brown bread and a meagre layer of bog standard supermarket cheese, that barely covered the cardboard toast. It was now barely tepid and ranks as the worst and most expensive cheese on toast we have ever had. Our cake was good but I overpriced, and the coffee was OK, but no where near as good as numerous other coffee shops in Swansea. Positives are: venue is nice and clean, staff friendly but somewhat dopey. It’s a shame they demolished my old school Ty-Coch. I am sure the catering ladies would have done a better job

Love the cakes, though, 4 months after moving shop they have yet to update online sources with their new telephone number.
