Absolutely amazing place! If you haven’t been yet you are missing out! ‘Out of Africa’ experience, with themed events. Watch polo during the summer season, relax with a cocktail and fine food and watch the sun go down at this glorious venue. Would highly recommend.

I love the Safari Bar any time of the year. The decorations make you feel you are somewhere abroad in a wild but very luxurious venue. During the day the colours of the set up brighten and during the night it transforms into a magical place with downlighting, incredible and generously served food menu and live music that varies from weekend to weekend! I have been to the safari bar for Summer Parties, Wedding, Birthdays and can not wait to go back! 🎉

Set in beautiful surroundings, this restaurant and bar is a true hidden gem. The food is always utterly exceptional, with every dish leaving us wanting more, and the staff are both super friendly and efficient, ensuring a fantastic dining experience each time. We’ve been many times now, and it never disappoints. On Fridays, you’re treated to live music, adding to the atmosphere, and if you arrive early enough, you can catch an exciting friendly polo match. The only disappointment is that it’s open only during the polo season, but that just adds to its charm. We love it so much that we’ve become members and now attend their exclusive parties throughout the year. If you’re looking for a unique, unforgettable experience, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

A wonderful location and experience. It’s really like going to Africa or being in out of Africa… So beautiful we had a wonderful party and the staff made it very special is a really special place.

This place is truly a hidden gem! With a stunning setting, beautifully designed interiors, and delicious food, it feels like a piece of Africa right here in the English countryside. The exceptional service adds to the experience, and the thrill of watching polo matches makes it even more special. Highly recommended!

My experience at the hotel restaurant was extremely disappointing. I won’t be returning and can’t recommend it to anyone.

Hi! I’m Anthony and I am a wedding photographer called Musket Wedding Photography. I spent the evening photographing a wedding party here and it’s a great place to have a party. Great atmosphere and great vibe. The food available was delicious and they catered for everyone. The staff were lovely and so helpful. I do hope I get to photograph more events here.

Good food and atmosphere but very hot and stuffy inside - no ventilation.

Came here for my mums low key hen do. Can’t fault it. Absolutely amazing would come 100 times more. We turned up and drinks were offered immediately. And we went outside for photos and to enjoy the sun. They then asked us when we wanted food and we quickly gave them our order. The only shame was the polo horses had been stuck in traffic but they walked a few horses over for a photo and a cuddle. Which was super nice. We sat for food and it was delicious. Atmosphere was amazing with the singer and she even wished my mum a happy wedding. Offered desserts which was super tasty. At the end of the evening we were just enjoying the music and drinks. Communication was amazing via WhatsApp and had no problems what so ever. Thanks for making my mums night so special.

Very disappointed Such a shame as a beautiful setting. We arrived for the second service at 7.30 sat down as instructed. Drinks ordered was taken bit continually had to ask to order food. I was worried the whole evening as one of our party was a type 1 diabetic and needed to eat, I explained this to the manager but it made no difference. To add insult to injury a table that arrived 45 minutes after us got there dinner, members perhaps? even so not acceptable and it doesn't state you will be treated as a second class citizen on booking. The polo ponies had disappeared by 8 so wished I had stayed outside to watch rather than sitting down trying to order food. Plenty of offers to bring paid for drinks apologies by not even a free drink when we didn't get our main course until 10pm. The food was nice but average. The portion were strange some starters generous but others very small. When presented with the bill we asked for the 10% service charge to be taken off. The manager said ' that's your perogative! Not I'm so sorry. It was my best friends birthday we were all really looking forward to the evening it was my suggestion that we eat here to be honest it felt embarrassing and awkward. I certainly would have asked for more to be taken of the bill but my husband just wanted to leave by then we had all had enough!

I was almost expecting cameras to jump out and tell us it was a comedy show. 1. Had to ask for our orders to be taken each time for drinks, starters, mains and desserts. 2. Waiter was asking if we wanted ketchup or bbq sauce with our starters… butter prawns and bruschetta? 3. Didn’t ask for our mains? When we asked if we could order them said he’d get them later. 4. Brought out the wrong starters even after we double checked the order, then told us that wasn’t what we ordered… 5. Missed a main. 6. Mixed up all 3 steaks ordered. 7. Advertised live jazz which was a pianist, not jazz in the slightest. 8. After finally bringing dessert out, our ‘lemon cheesecake’ had no lemon and was whipped cream on top of a biscuit crumb. 9. Added 2 extra dishes on the bill and after everything that happened still added a £55 service charge which we had removed. 10. Also… there wasn’t any polo which was what was advertised? Three horse riders practised individually until half 6 and then it was over. It’s such a shame because they’ve really advertised themselves to be an interesting event but I’m still in disbelief about the entire evening! Fortunately the company was wonderful and we could laugh about it, but if you’re going to charge the prices you do and advertise the event as you do, please make sure the service is improved.

Lost our private hut booking, but managed to put is in the main room instead. Had to ask repeatedly for them to take orders for each course. We wouldn’t have gotten desserts if we hadn’t asked 3 times. They got our starter order wrong, missed a dish and then told us it was our fault. Steaks for main were not cooked as people asked, mediums were rare, medium to rare were medium to well done. They may have just given them out to the wrong people, which wouldn’t surprise me as the service was poor. The restaurant promotes the polo as a core part of the experience, but polo was 3 riders hitting a ball around separately for a short period, and then it ended, I really don’t think they should even be promoting polo. They messed up the bill, charging us for a starter and then an extra main. We asked them to take the service charge off, which I never do at restaurants. Service was without a doubt the worst I’ve had. They charge premium prices for average food and bad service. I do not recommend going here.

Rustic and Romantic A lovely location for a special experience

Thank you to all the staff for providing my daughter and son In law for the most perfect setting for their wedding day. The staff provided us with impeccable service. The kindness and thoughtfulness that they gave to our family was second to none. I really did not want the day to end. Each and every detail was just perfect. Thank you all so much. Everyone commented on how wonderful you all were. The food was delicious ! I hope you are all having a well deserved rest today.

Lovely venue however we had a big mix up with our order which resulted in our menu choices being lost. Staff did apologise and try to make good but this resulted in us all eating at different times. Dessert was lovely and overall staff made the effort to make the situation better.

Great spot, fabulous views out across the countryside as the sun sets, charming staff, good food and different from the usual fare. Worth a visit IMHO!

We visited The Safari Bar last summer. A gorgeous and exotic heady mix of Polo playing with fabulous Spanish food. It's a rural pop up style African Savannah type affair hosted at The vO Polo Club. The Welland Valley is absolutely gorgeous. Dine and view the beautiful natural trees and stunning sunsets. This really is the ultimate al fresco restaurant and bar experience. If you want a memorable night out with friends, date night or an impressive business dinner, then this is the place. Unusual and exotic open air safari themed clubhouse, romantic balcony & chill out terrace allow you to enjoy sundowners and a selection of tapas and other gourmet Spanish delicacies overlooking the incredible and soul feeding countryside vistas. There is also a couple of private dining African huts for 8. And of course, polo on most evenings to enjoy for those horse mad diners. Unforgettable, unmissable and simply fabulous
