The River Queen in Flintshire

Excellent food good price and cheap delivery along with good service. I had fish chips and curry sauce excellent.

I went to the River Wueen takeaway tonight and ordered 3x fish, chips and peas only to be told that they had no peas, so I placed my order for 3x fish and chips. Whilst waiting, telephone orders were coming in and customers were coming in to collect them, people were also coming in and getting served their orders and after half an hour they tell me that they’ve only got two fish, would I like a fish cake? Why it too then half an hour to discover that they only had two fish is an eye opener! I don’t know if they’re having problems getting their fish from their suppliers, or if their supplier only provides poor grade fish to this takeaway? So, I ended up with 2 fish wrapped separately and 2 chip’s wrapped separately and all were dry and tasteless. I then had to go to the takeaway in Connahs quay for one more Fish and chips, I don’t know how long the fish had been in their glass cabinet for, but that fish was also of very poor quality! So, I ended up with 3x fish and 3x chips which turned out to be dry, tasteless and waste of money! It is sad to watch the demise of local businesses, think I’ll stick to home made meals in future! They not only could’ve but also should’ve done better, by making me wait for half an hour to tall me that they couldn’t fulfil my order, was not only disgusting, it was disgraceful and very disrespectful and rude.

The best Chinese food around , the salt and pepper ribs are the best just amazing , they beat any ribs around , good family business , thank you , cannot wait to come back

It's shocking how this place has a good food hygiene rating, as whenever I go, there is a young lad there, who plays on his phone and then touches your chips when wrapping them etc. I dont know about this lad, but my phone goes everywhere with me, bathroom, out and about, in my pocket, hell it probably gets lightly spat on, when talking. So when he is touching the phone and then your chips, erm no thanks. Worse thing is, he was also doing this during covid too. I stopped eating here a long time ago

Best Chinese takeaway in Deeside . Good food goood portions. Well priced . Tried every other place in deeside and nothing compares. Been going strong for decades.

Everything went in the bin, noodles were slimy ribs would of broken your teeth, and the crispy chicken was like leather. And it was tasteless

Love this Chinese, portions are massive, big enough to share, the Bbq ribs are delicious and actually spill out of the tray theres that many. Lovely staff and def value for money.

Always go here been coming here for years nowhere else in the area as nice. Big portions is always busy telephone your order is easier and quicker

had a few meals from here and it is plentiful and delicious. No other Chinese can match this place. Staff are friendly and always remember you and the place is spotless.

It was all far too salty. The beef was like shoe soles. Noodles were slimy. The duck was somehow done in uncooked flour and was like salty rubber. Yuk

Been here a few times now, always good food and friendly faces behind the counter. I recommend the fish & chips or Kung Po chicken.

Was advised by a friend about this place for ages and got to say it was one of the best Chinese I’ve had in a long time. Their salt and pepper chicken is the best I’ve had, and the chicken fried rice and curry sauce was great as well.

Went there Easter Sunday as New city (shotton) was closed. Bad mistake. Salt and pepper ribs chewy and stodgy. Hot and sour soup way too sour. Special curry watery and bland. Crispy fries chilli beef was stodgy and over fried sauce tasted of lea and Perrins chips were fairly nice. Won’t be going there again. New City is the best for Chinese in shotton.

Phoned at 6pm to pick up at 7pm so our little girl could of tea with us befor bed. 7.30pm we got food so and daughter fell asleep. Got home and the seal hadn't been put on correct causing all the curry sauce too leak out everywhere so a meal without sauce. The prawn crackers were stale. Customer service was awful both on the phone and when we arrived . The lady behind the counter kept swearing when ever the phone rang aswell. Beef fatty and chewy too. Now I remember why we stopped going here. Will not be returning

We rang and placed our order and were told it will be ready in 30 minutes, when we arrived we had to wait another 30 minutes for it. No sorry about the wait or anything. Got home to find they had got one of the meals wrong, even though they had actually wrote the right meal on it. Carmly I went back down and asked for our correct meal. The reply shocked me, I was shouted at front of everyone that we were wrong and not them. The meal was replaced but the damage has been done. We will be going the golden fry in the future their meals are just as Nice, priced and portioned. No one should speak to someone like that it was disgusting. Only one member of staff said sorry the rest couldn't get passed their own pride to admit a fault. Shame we use to like it there.

Excellent food and lots of it x However, I ordered by phone and was told 35 minutes wait but it was nearer 50 minutes. Charge 70p extra for fried rice instead of boiled or chips which is a bit expensive, but would go there again.

The best Chinese around by far love it here. Even if it's just a bag of chips or a proper Chinese meal they never disappoint. We go here at least once a week

The whole family love their curries and sweet and sour dishes. When the family come to visit from Yorkshire they say it is the best curry they have tasted.

He estado viniendo aquí durante muchos años, y no he tenido una mala comida. Las gambas en bean amarillo es increíble, las gambas son grandes y frescos y sabrosos. Los propietarios son amables y divertidos. Sin llegar el esfuerzo de ir aquí. El único inconveniente es que no han entregado. Como hoy Terminé de trabajar a las 10 y tuvimos que ir a recogerla. . Pero porque la comida es tan buena que hace. Continuaré a usar este para llevar por encima de todos los demás. gracias Riverqueen

El River Queen ha sido mi principal "fish and chips" por años. Jen y su familia, y la nueva señora inglesa ofrecen el mejor servicio cualquiera podría desear. La comida es absolutamente excepcional con precios baratos para unas raciones enormes. Servicio rápido, siempre con una sonrisa. Si hay una cosa que me moverse desde donde vivo sería este "fish and chips"! Realmente recomiendo!

Me encanta la comida que se sirve con una sonrisa. La mujer detrás de la barra está siempre dispuesto a ayudar. En general, un "fish and chips" encantador.

El típico "fish and chips" ha cerrado por lo que utilicé la reina del río por la primera vez en muchos años para conseguir una comida para llevar y me sorprendió gratamente tanto por el precio y el tamaño de las porciones.

Hemos estado comiendo de esta comida para llevar durante muchos años, y nos encanta la comida que viene de aquí! Como una familia que siempre se atiene a la misma para llevar delicia, números de nosotros entre 4-7 personas a la vez, y siempre nos dan una buena comida por menos de £20.

Always had spot on food from here, always fresh and good portions. Advise to order via the phone first as such a popular take away that there are always queues

Parking is a bit of a problem on the main roadso either go up side street of car park in Ash Grove.Anyway, we have used this take away for years and have never ever been disappointed.We have occasionally tried others but really there is no contest.

I have always gone here for a chinese take away for the last 10 years. Great variety and the food is great. I think it does the best chippy chips around too!

This is within walking distance of our house, and how lucky are we! We usually have chinese takeaway from here and are never disappointed. Larger portions (we can share one!) but similar prices to most others. Very clean establishment and friendly staff.
