The Rhubarb Shed Cafe in Sheffield

I recently enjoyed one of the best breakfasts I've ever had at The Rhubarb Shed Cafe! This little cafe truly went above and beyond to accommodate my dietary preferences. I requested an English breakfast without the traditional carbs or veggies, and they absolutely delivered. Not only did they honor my request, but they also added an assortment of freshly prepared meats that they were preparing for lunch. The result was an incredibly unique and hearty breakfast with so much flavor and variety — from perfectly cooked sausages and bacon to delicious cuts that you don’t typically see at breakfast. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and more than willing to personalize the meal to make sure everyone felt looked after. It’s clear they care about each guest's experience, and it made my visit feel really special. If you're looking for a cozy spot with great food and exceptional service, I can’t recommend The Rhubarb Shed Cafe enough! Thank you for such a memorable breakfast experience. Rhubarb Shed hosted the amazing afternoon tea for our wedding this weekend! All the guests commented on how much they love the amount of food, and that it tasted brilliant! They were also very accommodating for varied dietary requirements that we were asking about! No one went hungry, and there was so much food to go around! Would definitely recommend the afternoon tea for big parties, and was such good value too! The staff were also incredibly helpful, and attentive.

Lovely afternoon tea with a friend for her birthday, Lovely staff and service, gave 4 stars for food only because they have lovely cupcakes and these did not come with the afternoon tea, personal preference but would have like one or two of these instead of some of the small chocolate delicacies served. The Rhubarb Shed is a great place to visit this part of Sheffield.

Searched Google Maps for breakfast in the area and discovered this little gem. Place was quaint, staff were brilliant and the full English was very tasty and fresh. I'll be back to try lunch and dinner. Try it you won't be disappointed.

The food at our wedding was amazing, thanks to the team at the Rhubarb Shed. We received compliments all night, with several guests saying it was the best food they’d ever had at a wedding. Paula and the team served us wonderfully, and we loved having Hendos on every table. Thank you for making our day so special!

We spent a lovely afternoon for our Mums 70th Birthday today. Fantastic service, delicious food and very friendly staff. They kept us stocked up with tea and we went through a lot! One of the children was asking for more ham sandwiches and we didn't have any left and a lovely lady overheard and brought more ham sandwiches. When we asked for the bill our Mum was presented with some more lovely cakes with a candle! Thank you very much for making our Mums day special, she often struggles going out but she really enjoyed herself. You are all amazing and we will recommend you to everyone!

There were no tables free on Sunday when we arrived and it was getting near to closing time, however the staff still made us welcome and set up 2 tables for us outside complete with blankets as was getting chilly. Our food arrived quickly and presentation was lovely. Well worth a visit.

Came for afternoon tea. Excellent food and service. Really enjoyed ourselves and had some left to bring home. Grateful for the separate platter for the vegetarian in our party.

Not sure what I was expecting, but I have heard great things about this place. Little underwhelmed if im honest. However the food was very fresh and the staff were friendly. A little over priced just for an everyday lunch in a cafe, but was a nice treat with family

Fantastic breakfast in a location that we have driven past for many years. It feels like you want to keep the place secret, but everyone really should visit at least once in Sheffield. We are looking forward to trying the afternoon tea!

Booked lunch for my wife's 50th with family. What an amazing place this is. Beautiful building, even the car park has a great view across the City. The food was amazing, and all 8 of us loved what we had. The staff and service was also fantastic. Need to return to try something else.

Another fabulous experience at The Rhubarb Shed. A family Sunday lunch, no request was too much. A warm friendly/homely environment where all ages are able to come together for a great meal.

This place is amazing, the afternoon tea we had was the best we've had this year.

Had a fantastic afternoon tea yesterday. We had a disabled lady with us, so requested a table downstairs which we were given. In our group of 8 we have 2 vegetarians and 2 people that are gluten free and all were catered for. Our drinks orders were taken promptly and they kept coming. The food came out very quickly and everything was beautiful. We were all grateful for boxes to take our leftovers home. I have eaten here many times and the food never disappoints! Thanks again ladies!

I came here last week with my friend and baby and had a fantastic time! It was very busy but they were kind enough to move things around and fit us in. All of the staff were lovely and the food was fantastic! We took a while to decide as we wanted multiple things so we will definitely be back! They had also heard it was our first time visiting and gave us a complimentary plate of cake! Fantastic service, can't wait to plan our next visit!

Food is outstanding, well presented and really tasty. Plenty of it as well. When we first sat down and saw the menu we nearly left as it is quite expensive and we only really wanted a nice cafe sandwich and a drink, but we decided to stay anyway. I'm so glad we did as it was amazing cannot praise the staff enough. Not cheap BUT still good value thanks to the quality and quantity. You must have the chips as well these are just like we had as kids in the 70s! Fried to perfection.

This is a hidden Gem!! A word of warning, if you haven't booked, you're not getting in! We arrived at 12:30 Sunday and the carpark was already full! I had my usual roast chicken dinner, dear husband had the onion bahgi flatbread, and shared a side of cauliflower cheese. As always, everything was perfect, DH raved about the onion bahgi for the rest of the day. We took a couple of cakes to go. All in all another gorgeous lunch at the Rhubarb Shed. My 1st visit today my friend took me to sample the delights that she is always raving about and she was not wrong..what a lovely wonderful place with amazing friendly staff where nothing is too much trouble. I was even tempted into dishes I'd not ever tried before and was blown away and shall return very soon to sample more delights for the 1st time... Thankyou for a lovely afternoon and my thanks to the great staff too.. fantastic comfortable atmosphere and a mix of people from all ages ...oh just a heads up it's recommended you book as it's super busy and rightly so.

Rhubarb shed catered for our wedding last month and were exceptional! We had a three course sit down dinner and then an evening buffet and each dish was so tasty and well presented - and such generous portions! The food got so many compliments from family and friends with one friend saying it was the best wedding food he'd ever eaten! All those with allergies were carefully catered for. Would definitely recommend!

Love this place, took my brother and sister in law for the first time. They were blown away by the quality of the breakfast and we will all be back soon.

Great dining experience fit us I'm last min

We received vouchers for here as a wedding present but accidentally let them run out of date , I asked if there was anything they could do and luckily for us they let us use them still ,we have been today for Sunday dinner , I had the duo of meat which was beef and pork and my husband had the pork baguette, big portions and very nice too , one of the nicest Sunday dinners we've had . Definitely be coming again

What a hidden gem, this place has the most delicious food. We sat outside on a hot summer's day and there a very few places that could beat it.

We used the rhubarb shed to cater our wedding (15/06/24) and found them to be amazing throughout. They were easy to communicate with, dealt with a number of allergies and provided amazing food and service. Would highly recommend them to anyone organising their wedding.

Excellent Sunday Lunch today at the Rhubarb Shed. We all enjoyed it, especially both fathers. Weve been before and also love the Afternoon Tea and Breakfast. Lovely friendly staff and Excellent food, would highly reccomend.

With not many places about to get a nice cooked breakfast, we googled some ideas and this little gem popped up. I have to say it was the best breakfast and service we have had in a long time. Don't mind paying a little extra when it was so good. We will be back ❤️

Me u trying g to be too upmarket. Only thing we could eat was quiche which was too sweet and so was the leaves. Asked for tea for 2. She came and said oh for 2? 1 pot but 2 cups !!!! So she brought another pot !!!!!! Pricey too.especially as I couldn't eat mine. Skin on chips ! Was better before as a cafe come tea shop. Won't be going or recommending again.

We came for the get together after my Aunty Betty's funeral. Best cream tea I have ever had. Perfect vegetarian platter was offered, and the meat eaters were similarly delighted. A cheerful and efficient service (even though we were delayed). The saddest thing. My Aunty Bet would have simply loved it.

Lovely place in a stunning setting. Really good service got given some free cake just because there was the tiniest bit of confusion seating us. The food was stunning and the gluten free options were great. Can't recommend enough.

Had heard good things about this place so gave it a try went with a friend - food itself was amazing but we felt rushed by staff as they approached 6 times within an hr and was made to pay at the table before we'd even finished could understand it if it was busy but there were a number of empty tables available. Very disappointed

I've been curious about this place for a while as it often tops local 'Good Food Cafe' lists. I went with my friend on a rare day we had both time to relax and access to a car and it did not disappoint. She had Tofu and Avocado on toast and I had Mediterranean Flatbread which was filled with whipped feta and lots of delicious veg. The portions were generous and we were surprisingly full which is the only reason why we didn't try any of the great-looking cakes or puddings (but could return for this). The service was speedy despite them being quite busy and the staff attentive, the only reason I put 3 stars for Atmosphere is because we sat outside on the tables on the bank and while that was a pleasure I cannot accurately rate the atmosphere inside. As before though, would go again.

Thank you for an excellent breakfast. Booking a table was recieved with a polite lady answering the phone and being nice. We turned up and was shown our table. The service was spot on. The food was amazing and all locally produced. The male who brought our cutlery out was amazing. I loved his enjoyment and attention to detail. I also enjoyed knowing that they give employment to people with a disability. Because of this me and my partner has decided to scrap going to a big franchise for breakfast and support the rhubarb shed cafe instead.

Love this little gem of a place. This time the occasion to visit was to celebrate the birthdays of two friends. We booked to have afternoon tea. We had assortment of sandwiches, mini cakes, pork pies, sausage rolls and their "To die for " onion marmalade quiche. Also a really gorgeous cauliflower chutney which tates amazing! All accompanied with copious amounts of tea and coffee. I can't shout enough how lovely this place is. Definitely recommend.

Afternoon tea and ploughman's lunch. Amazing. Huge portions. Took lots home in a box supplied by staff. Value for money . Friendly staff.

Having visited for a friends leaving do, my wife brought me here as a treat during my birthday week. So many things on the menu to tempt, I was quite torn. Very nearly went for the full English, the smoked fish hash was talking to me too, but in the end I settled on the creamy garlic mushrooms and a sausage butty. Our order was promptly and courteously brought to our table. A wonderful malted roll with four piping hot, chipolata style Cumberland sausages, really good. Then, the main event. I'm not normally a salad guy but this was delish, and the only thing I left was the beautiful looking cherry toms and cucumber, (yuck 🤢). Poached egg, nom, spinach, nom, bacon, nom, mushrooms, nom. 😋 Used the toast to mop up every last drop of the creamy sauce. 🤤 And only got the lightest smattering down my shirt. 😁 All washed down with a tasty black forest hot chocolate. I went to the loo after 🙈 now I only mention this as to get there you go through the kitchen. I love a place that is confident enough to have an open kitchen, nothing hidden. So I stopped and chatted with the friendly staff, the brisket looked simply awesome!!! 😲 I really enjoyed my visit, will definitely return and would recommend it to anyone. To top it off the wife swears it only cost slightly more than a visit to a franchised fast food place?! 👍🏻

Heard a lot of good things about this place, and fair to say they are all true! Veggie breakfast is impressive! We were given little free cakes as way of an apology for it being a bit chilly in there this morning, which we hadn't actually thought it was, but great service nonetheless.Will definitely keep going back to try the rest of the menu!

first time visited with friends , had heard good things about the food , i wasn't dissapointed... quiche with salad fries and homemade coleslaw .... delicious , washed down with a cuppa .... other had pork baguette and the size was enormous and she said it was also delicious.... i will return with family soon

Such a little gem!! The food is amazing and reasonably priced as well. We went as a party of 9 for afternoon tea for our daughters birthday and everyone had a great time. All of the staff are very friendly!! Prebooking is a must because the secret is out on how great Rhubarb Shed is and it's always very busy!!

I have eaten here which was fabulous, but this review is of their brownies by post box I was lucky enough to be sent! Beautifully packaged and arrived next day. An assortment of brownies, lemon blondies & Rocky Road - my favourite being the lemon blondie heated up with ice cream. Such a lovely gift to receive - I’ll definitely be sending these again. Great service too

We are returning to them but you must book the chances of going without a booking could mean disappointment. It is so popular and rightly so. Staff are exceptional and so helpful and the food is so good. Just an amazing place to eat out. Next journey back will be for brunch.

Turned up for brunch to be asked if we'd booked. That's a mark of the popularity of this place. A table up stairs was found. Thought we were being shoved there as downstairs was full, but no, upstairs was busy too. Staff young but friendly and efficient. Decent menu and good size portions. Food pretty good too. Felt a safe place for allergies too. Need to book and go back. Also visit Manor Lodge.

Our first trip to Rhubarb Shed, having heard alot about it. Definitely need to book in advance...we booked almost 2 weeks ahead, and were told it would be busy...it was. Lovely atmosphere, lots of families with young children. Our only suggestion would be a side plate for the toast, as the plate was so full of yummy breakfast...and maybe thicker serviettes, but the service & food were both lovely. 😋 Great start to a Sunday, and we're both still full!

This is one of the best cafes in Sheffield. The atmosphere and service are top notch, the food is outstanding. The people in the kitchen are cooking to the highest standard. The puddings in particular are to die for. Great value for money and well worth a visit.

I was so shocked but how beautiful this place is, why had I never been before. We had afternoon tea, one of the best I've ever had, couldn't fault a thing, ample parking, great atmosphere and food worth travelling for. I even went and thanked the kitchen staff it was so good, I will be back.
