The Red Lion, East Kirkby in East Lindsey

Brief visit and a quick stop for a coffee and sausage roll, will come back for another visit

We found out there are 4 red lions in the area local to this so whilst here camping I want to try and visit them all. The staff were lovely and great with the kids and lots of memorabilia in there too right next too Lincolnshire aviation heritage museum (just Jane) so I was in my element 😊

Campsite very disappointed grass overgrown rubbish had never been emptied never met anybody who owns the campsite, toilet seat didn't fit toilets had never been cleaned over the weekend this campsite has got so much potential but it looked well warned needs somebody to keep the grass cut and keep the toilets and the rubbish cleaned it was a terrible smell coming out of the bins, the only thing I thought was good was the email confirmation and kept up to date

We stayed in the area whilst hosting a trade show. We arrived late for food but they were very accommodating and made sure we ate. The food is top notch too for the price. We returned for Sunday lunch with no other option as we had been turned away from other pubs due to not booking in advance, but we were camping and needed a good feed. Even though again they were busy with big parties in to eat due to the museum having an event, they ensured we had a table and Sunday dinner. Will visit again. Very friendly staff. Great food.

Held a wake recently here the food provided was good and they has neck oil on draft which was my favourite.

Food order was quick and good value for money. Staff were excellent and very pleasant. I stayed on their campsite on this occasion.

Only visited the one night, booked on campsite. Campsite toilets I found a little odd. They had cameras in... But clean.

Great campsite. It has everything you need. We had a lovely meal in the pub befor leaving, Very friendly. We didn't Check prior to arriving that the pub isn't actually open on a Monday. That was our own fault.

Lovely Sunday lunch although the prices online are misleading but would visit again as the quality is very good.

Local pub run by my nephew, not far from East Kirkby airfield home of the Lancaster Just Jane.

I stayed on there caravan site for two nights and found the bays to narrow and the toilets and showers were discustingly dirty and no mop or mop bucket to even clean it yourself, but i will say the showers were the best ive came across , as in they stay on, but the lights go out and you have to go and open the door to turn them on and to do that you have to cover up as they have a camera in there, all in all i will never return there.

Popped in for a quick bite to eat. Varied menu straightforward pun meals vert reasonably priced. No frills but exactly what we needed on the night.

Love coming to the Red Lion, I go at least 4 times a year and whilst that seems infrequent I'll clarify by saying I love in Derbyshire, but always make an effort to visit when I'm in East Kirkby. Enjoy the karaoke but wish it was on maybe a bit more and it'd be nice for more seating, but I understand when I attend it's exceptionally busy and more seating probably isn't needed most of the time. Great food and friendly staff 😁

We booked two pitches with red lion, I had a email back pretty much straight away with a confirmation and details of the code for entry into the campsite/toilets. details of opening times for the pub food if needed which is helpful but on this occasion we didn't use. Upon arrival we soon realised how big the pitches were and decided to only use 1 pitch for both our tents and still had plenty of room. This time of year the campsite wasn't overly busy. The facilities were clean and tidy. We will definitely be looking at booking again next year

I had hoped to find time to have a meal in the pub but sadly ran out of time. But I did enjoy a pint of thatchers outside in their beer garden. The site was very pleasant and there is an area for childrens playground. The chemical toilet area is well located and easy to use. Handy washing up sinks fior campers There are 2 showers and 2 toilets in both men and ladies areas. Which I know as I ended up in the mens having got muddy with Gents sign thinking it pointed down the side, so in my opinion by default this had to be the ladies 😆 🤣 I was on my way out when I surprised a man coming in 😆 🤣 😂

Amazing little pub/restaurant to stop off at..well beyond my expectations..friendly staff and excellent menu too.. unfortunately because of driving I was unable to sample their selection of fine ales.

Wow!!! Food was outstanding. The portions are massive and boy do they know how to cook proper home made chips. They are warm and friendly staff and the only down fall was the floor needed a good clean… other than that I would highly recommend this place for amazing food and great staff!!

Lovely local pub and so friendly. Food is amazing and Sunday lunch is defo worth the money. If I had 1 negative it would be too much food on the plate so struggled to fit in a pudding. We stayed on the camp site behind which is also lovely.

Just WOW. Had my sisters baby shower in THE BARN function room. Amazing venue, brilliant team at a fantastic price. Nothing was to much from start to finish. Thank you all so much

October half term, our first stay at the Red Lion Campsite. Decent sized flat pitches with WiFi access. Site well setup for safety with security entrance barrier, one way road system, security locks on doors to facilities and the site is well lit at night (without being too bright)! The site has a play area for younger children, plenty of fresh water taps dotted around and a chemical toilet/grey water disposal point. The toilet block is well maintained with a crockery wash up area outside with plenty of hot water. The pub is very welcoming with all that you would wish for from the village local, a warm welcome, great food and drink and fantastic service (book should you wish to eat as the pub does get busy). The Campsite is next to the Air Museum with its taxiing Lancaster and WWll memorabilia, well worth a visit if you enjoy that sort of thing! We enjoyed our stay at the Red Lion Campsite and look forward to our next visit. Best wishes to Ray and his wonderful dog Toby, thank you for entertaining us on our visit to the Air Museum.

Highly recommend the Red Lion. The food is amazing, large portions at very reasonable prices with friendly service. It can sometimes be intimidating walking into a village pub but not here, both the staff and locals were very friendly and welcoming! Putting us at ease as soon as we walked in, even when our sometimes fearful reactive puppy decided that was the moment to bark wildly at a local dog enjoying a quiet evening in the pub. Everyone was very kind about our dog, which was a massive relief, and even asked if they could give him a fuss once we were seated and settled at the table. This pub is clearly very dog friendly. Would definitely visit again if in the area, if we were welcome back of course...

Excellent pub/restaurant with very tasty homely meals. Waitresses and bar staff a nice and friendly. The pub renovations are tastefully done with a lovely bar and restaurant. Stayed at their campsite in August, the pitches have enough space for caravan, awning and car. Marked out pitches. You can book electric or non-electric. Clean and family friendly. Toilet and shower blocks have entry controlled by a keypad code. Small washing up area outside. The site entrance is controlled by automatic barrier entry with code provided. I've been in the past but these improvements make it a venue to definitely return to.

Stayed recently camping behind the secure gated campsite, which is very nice, friendly & we'll kept. Had a family meal which consisted of a rump steak, chips & onion rings for me.... steak was rare as asked & perfect, chips are proper chips & a large portion too! & proper large onion rings. Fella think he had chicken breast & rack of ribs, chips& onion rings.. again all was perfect. 2 boys had the burgers, chips & onion rings... nice meaty burgers . All where presented beautifully & truly enjoyed by all ... so far as to say one of the best pub meals we'd ever had! Well done to chef & staff 👏 👍 👌. A selection of ales & lagers... we kept to Batemans , a nice ale.

What a great pub,stopped on the way home after playing golf at belton woods, not getting food at 2 other pubs on the way. Food excellent and Timothy Taylor landlord on draft what more does a hungry golfer need,staff excellent. Will certainly be dropping back in again that's a promise.

How this pub delivers this quality of food at such a great price I know not. We eat out a lot; this was something special. I gather the landlord is the cook - all home made. If you're fortunate enough to live nearby, then make the most of it. If you're on holiday nearby, than make the journey. A British pub with superb heritage at its very best. Great locals, and a great drinker's pub too. Well done!

Stayed at the red lion campsite for 2 nights 9 / 10 of April lovely site nice and quiet nice size pitches and facilities are good, food at the pub which isjust at the entrance was excellent nice big portions and the staff were very friendly

We were in East Kirkby for long weekend rest and we decided to go to Red Lion for a dinner. Food was fantastic and portions were huge. Atmosphere superb, lots of people with dogs. Nothing to complain about, recommend with clear heart.

This place was a last minute idea due to our bike rally being cancelled. what a great place, Landlord Chris and his staff are very helpful and welcoming, the atmosphere both fri and sat night was great, food excellent, big portions and tasted delicious, enjoyed ourselves so much we will be going back again soon.

We stayed here 26th February till 27th February 2022, with my partner and kids plus my best mate it was an amazing experience and little holiday, the plot we stayed at wasn't far from the toilets or the bar.... the bar staff was lovely.. the food was also amazing quality!! We will be staying here again

Amazing! Had the special of the day, double beef burger with onion rings, egg, mushrooms, bacon and tomato and its was delicious!! A challenge to eat but so worth it. Definitely coming back!

Perfect stay for our first camping trip weekend. Great little site.

Waited an hour for food to be served an out of date pork chop that tasted sour and smelt. Following a complaint £10 was removed from the bill. Wouldnt go back if someone paid me! Also only 1 highchair available for the whole pub so my daughter was unable to eat, which i am glad of now!

Staying at the Bomber Camp site at the back of The Red Lion. Nice and peaceful site with big electric or non electric pitches.

Great place. Spent 5 nights on their camp site behind the pub. Facilities basic but spotlessly clean. Pub serves excellent food at realistic prices and has a good selection of ales.

Stayed at the campsite , had brilliant time. On the Sunday we had Sunday Roast food excellent, big portions and staff and owners welcoming, totally recommended

Nice site well maintained and ideally placed next to the air museum, good friendly crowd, pub looks nice, however despite lots of good reviews for pub grub we must have drawn the short straw on this one, main course was warm as apposed to hot, desert was hot but soggy "apple pie" service was very slow for the amount of people in restaurant, but they did take off the price of two ice cream desserts, would recommend however as pitch prices reasonable.

Friendly interesting pub . Good value food and lovely staff . Worth a visit if in the area and campsite has been refurbished too. Visited again 2021 and This place just gets better. Refurbished through , tastefully commemorating the Fallen of WWs in particular the local airfields.
