I love this outside area for coffee and desserts with glass of sangria when the weather is good.

My partner, his brother, and I came here for our late lunch. We were really hungry, and we all really love greek food. We had walked around the city for a couple of hours, im pregnant, and I really needed to sit down. I'd been to the Real Greek years ago and remembered it to be a nice place to eat. How very, wrong we were. We waited in line for what seemed forever. Being ignored by the staff, and there were two other families in front of us. The staff were rude whilst we waited to be seated by pushing past us and asking us to move in a rude manner. We were so close to leaving and going somewhere else. I really wished that we had. Once we'd been sat down, it took almost 15 mins for them to come back and take our orders. Even though we tried many times to get their attention, and once we had, they would say yes and then ignore us. The order itself was super quick because we knew what we wanted and was sick of waiting around. Most of the staff were just chatting. And it wasn't even that busy in the restaurant. Just when we were about to give up, our food plates came. And then our drinks. I only ordered an orange juice and ice tea. My partner ordered a beer and a coke. Very easy drinks to prepare, but took ages. The dishes were very small. Not worth the money that we spent. When we received the bill, we were shocked at the price. It came to £92.60. They also add almost £10 of the service check. I was appalled, and we were not happy with the service and the food. Most of the food was cold, and the sizes were very small. The wait took forever! I'd not recommend this place to anyone. We love Greek, and this didn't taste or feel Greek.

The Real Greek was a Real Disappointment. The halloumi was dripping in oil, so was the salad. The pork was very dry and the fish goujons were very dry and the portion size very small. The chips were all covered in mixed herbs for some reason. The flatbread a dips were okay. The service was also very slow, and it wasn't busy. When the waitress asked if everything was okay with the meal and we said no and told them about the issues, she didn't seem to care. I was also unwell later in the evening.

Had an evening meal here with my partner - COULD NOT FAULT IT! Food seemed very fresh (great choice on the menu and apparently even more food to come with a new menu to land soon), Greek malagouzia was delicious and service was smooth! Great time had by us both! Would recommend

Yesterday was the 5th Time we went to the REAL GREEK? And it will be the Last time We went about 3:00 pm it wasn’t busy But we had a bit of a wait for our meal We had pork skewer The pork was rock hard and like leather Spicy Feta Dip. It wasn’t a dip it was lumps of feta cheese with a bit of sauce Salt cod bites were 5 shrivelled pieces wouldn’t even qualify for a kids meal Halloumi & veg skewer 3 chucks of halloumi 2 bits of pepper & 1 bit of courgette swimming in oil. Fries overdosed in oregano/ herbs £4 for a glass of Apple juice We didn’t stay for dessert And the cherry on the cake was When I was asked if everything was fine whilst paying I said no and explained The member of staff was Trying to justify the “ Mediterranean way of cooking no apology and no discount The staff Didn’t care THE REAL GREEk What a CHEEK GREEK £76:95 Over priced Small portions Poor standard of cooking And the cherry cherry 🍒 On the cake 🍰 My son who had the Cod bites was ill stomach upset etc

Extremely friendly staff. Walked in for a "light dinner" and got carried away with the choices. Amazing portion sizes and great tasting. Ludo was very welcoming as we walked in and was extremely friendly and had a nice chat as we were leaving. Our waitor was also extremely friendly and helped recommend food. Even staff who didn't interact with us in the evening called out a goodbye as we left! They were very considerate with allergies as well- constantly checking and making sure that the sharing dishes were free of the allergens so everyone could enjoy them.

Very short of staff hence long wait. Food was cold. We didn't bother with dessert. We had been deciding whether to try here for a long time. At least we tried and won't be back. I would not recommend it. Someone else may love it who knows. One of our friends lived in Corfu and then Athens she also spoke Greek. We spent a lot of time with her and the food was fantastic in both Corfu and Athens.

Lovely place good food and service.

Went here to celebrate my birthday with a friend. The food was atrocious! Overpriced and came on ridiculous afternoon tea type stands. Not 'real' Greek at all! The drinks were warm and hardly any alcohol in them. We did complain about the drinks and food, but still had to pay full price. Plenty of other good places to eat in Norwich, don't waste your money here.

Went for my friends birthday. They gave us warm peach bellinis and warm water and cold food which tasted strange. That evening my friend and I were violently sick and had to register it as food poisoning the next morning. It was a very expensive disaster of a meal. We won't be going back or recommending to friends and family members.

Fantastic restaurant, very attentive staff and great Lunch , delicious food.

This used to be a decent restaurant with fantastic staff, but my experience today was a big letdown. Staff were indifferent and, with a couple of exceptions, they had a continuous childish banter which was constantly on show and severely undermined the atmosphere of the restaurant. The entire experience was one of a school playground with mediocre fare. Bring back the Real Greek staff.

We always have a lovely meal when we come and the staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Our server this time was Ludovit and he was full of recommendations and information about the dishes. Nothing was too much trouble and he was a real pleasure to have as our host.

The staff are so good, happy to help and go the extra mile, Raoul and Annie were amazing and the espresso martinis were some of the best

The service was amazing today. Highly recommend the calamari, chicken Sovlaki and the Greek custard pie. Ludo was promt with the orders. The atmosphere was very warm and inviting. Will surely be back here soon

Popped in ahead of a visit to the theatre and had a great meal, excellent service and a very friend atmosphere. No pressure and left feeling very happily fed. Really tasty food especially the baklava! Thanks Luda for perfect service too.

We recently visited The Real Greek and while the service was friendly and the atmosphere cozy, the food unfortunately didn’t quite hit the mark. The meat we ordered came out overcooked—burnt on the outside and dry inside—which made it hard to enjoy. That said, the sides were decent, and the staff were attentive and kind, which we appreciated. Maybe it was just an off day in the kitchen, but for the price, we expected better. We might give this restaurant a skip next time .

Absolutely abysmal. We fully expected a franchise restaurant like this to be typically mediocre but we were pretty desperate for a bite to eat whilst we waited for our son to meet us after the cinema. It was roughly 4:45pm so all the decent independents were closed until the evening so left us limited choice. The waitress said it wouldn’t be a problem for us to have some meze plates and drinks with our hour to spare. Great we thought and waitress subsequently sat us outside where we’d requested with menus and that was the last we saw of her or ANYONE! We sat for a good twenty five minutes, no drink order taken, nothing! Saw plenty of staff just ‘milling about.’ Maybe they weren’t button looked like it and I spent my teenage youth waitressing and working behind a bar so know good service when I see it. This place is clueless. I tried to make eye contact with a waiter but he was oblivious. The waitress who seated us was busy clearing tables and cleaning up so she was actually doing something but with a nearly empty restaurant not sure what the other staff were doing? Absolute joke and we thought if the service is this crap we pretty much know what the food is going to be like. So with that we left. We should have just gone with our gut about this place but we thought it couldn’t be that bad but trust me it really is. All fur coat and no knickers basically. We are big foodies so maybe our expectations and standards are set way too high 🤷‍♀️ So a hopefully helpful warning to anyone looking for reviews about this place- DONT DO IT! We had a lucky escape 😂

Sat outside making the most of the sunshine. It’s a nice little place to people watch, relax and have a drink before lunch. The service was really good and the food didn’t disappoint. It was also very good value. They have a small lunch menu Monday to Friday for £13. We would happily return.

We live on the outskirts of Ipswich and decided to go to Norwich as we had never been there before for a days shopping. We finished our shopping and saw The Real Greek restaurant and thought it would be a nice place to eat. Decided on the mese for two and was quickly told there was no lamb meatballs - they hadn't arrived - this was about 2 o'clock in the afternoon, this didn't bode well ! The starters came, taramasalata, some kind of feta cheese chopped up in a pink sauce which didn't look very appetising and crudites which were really badly chopped chunks of carrots, stringy celery and cucumber, the only thing that was good was the small amount of flat bread and the one olive !!! Next came the main meal, one skewer of burnt pork on a bed of copious coleslaw, another dish with calamari and a piece of lemon and a dollop of mayo. We were each given a dish that was supposed to have a real Greek salad in, ours had huge chunks of tomatoes, lumps of onion, chunks of green pepper a great big lump of feta cheese and not an olive in sight, probably the worst looking greek salad I have ever seen or tasted. We picked about and paid the bill and the waitress asked was everything ok and we said the meal was not very good and we told her about the burnt meat and she said she would tell the kitchen and would we like to take the tip off the bill, to which we said no, it was not her fault that the meal was not good. Unfortunately, both of us had really upset stomachs during the night, and as that was the only place we ate at and the meat was definitely not right, it could have only been there. This was a very poor experience and one to never be repeated!

Service was excellent, food delicious. Would definitely eat here again and again. Wish we lived nearer. Ludovit provided great service

My wife's Chicken Souvalki didn't contain any chicken and was stone cold. The Pork in my Pork Skewer Box was so overcooked it was burnt and black.

fantastic meal at the real greek norwich last night. food was lovely and service was prompt. the young server, alex, tended graciously to all of us including our young rambunctious baby. was so kind and had a brilliant humour, and was very helpful and non-judgemental when our baby made a big spill. thank you :)

We visited for our child’s birthday and Dillon went above and beyond to make our visit special! The food was delicious and arrived quickly, the staff were all obviously happy to be at work and we had a lovely evening. Dillon delivered 5* Customer service and elevated our experience.

The food meat was burned, black , rock hard . It's like ordering some coal.. Disgusting.

Lunchtime meal deal and excellent choice

Stopped in for lunch after a shopping trip. It was late in the lunch service, things were quietening down however the service was really slow. Incorrect drinks received, we had completely finished our drinks by the time food arrived. The food was really good, absolutely no complaints with this, fresh and tasty and I felt good value for money. We then had a long wait for the table to be cleared and gave up waiting on the bill and stood at the til until someone helped! The staff were very pleasant and friendly but despite not being overly busy and being plenty staffed it was just too slow.

We had the moussaka but instead of layers of egg plant (which is the traditional Greek way) it had layers of potato. Very disappointing, as they call themselves "THE REAL GREEK"

The moussaka was amazing, nice portion of it. Tasted amazing, the wraps are good as well. Good choice on the menu. Staff were good, always at hand to help the customers needs.

Visited on Saturday 22nd February 2024. Was served by Ludo who was so attentive and ensured all our food was gluten free. The food was delicious. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because the food wasn’t hot but it definitely wouldn’t prevent us visiting again.

Cold chips, tipped-over hummus which made a mess everywhere and very little falafel.

The food relative to the price was actually quite nice. Unfortunately they only serve the cold meze first and the hot meze second. This meant that half the table was sitting around for over an hour before they had anything to eat.

Food was delivered on time as it said. The food itself was horrible and I wouldn’t order from them again! The lamb & Halloumi were both over cooked & burnt- we didn’t eat them! The flat bread were smothered in salt! Very disappointing.

We dined at The Real Greek tonight and what can I say, the service was the best I’ve recieved in norwich. We were welcomed by the lovely Raul who was exceptionally welcoming and looked after us until halfway through our meal when we had the most polite lady named Annie who cared for us up until we left. The food was immaculate and was matched with the loveliest servers. Thank you so much for making our night so special, we will be returning very very soon! All the best to the whole team (but a special shout out to Raul!)

Expensive for what you get. Portions very small so you have to buy more to make a proper meal. No portions are enough to share between 2. Service slow. Food not authentic . Hideously overpriced

We got there yesterday afternoon, and they claimed to be totally booked. But we found tables online and grabbed one! It looked like they were turning people away, even though the upstairs was empty – we saw them do it to, like, five different groups while we were eating. The portions were tiny, it was crazy expensive, and the food wasn't nearly as good as other Greek places – worst octopus and pork ever! The whole thing was a huge disappointment. Plus, they added a 10% service charge – they called it optional, but it was automatically added! You gotta watch out. Only good thing was our waiter; he seemed to really enjoy his job.

Unfortunately, it is just small plates of food, we were expecting a wonderful meal like Lamb kleftiko… or a delicious Beef Stifado and other family meals that were the taste of your Greek country ! Burnt souvalaki and burnt pitta bread…. Seriously.. not good We were sadly disappointed that there wasn’t anything special about it! We asked about the vegan options for our family and they were not satisfied that there wasn’t many, then on a sign saying they had a special vegan menu… they didn’t think to tell us about that !! Very expensive food and drinks, we did comment to them and we were given a discount, but I’d rather go to the Greek islands, than waste my money at this type of restaurant !
