The Phoenix in Stratford-on-Avon

We called in for coffee and stayed for lunch which was an absolutely delicious pizza. The staff were really friendly and helpful. This was a much pleasanter place for lunch than any of the others we saw, particularly those near the river. We will definitely return when we’re in Stratford again.

I really can’t fault this place. Great beer selection, particularly the regularly changing craft options. Good pub atmosphere without the ‘lads lads lads’ vibe even at weekends. Super friendly staff and the owner seems like a really nice guy. To top it off, one of the best pizzas this side of Naples.

Table of 2. Myself and my friend. She had allergy and it wasnt problem for them to serve food. We had spicy pizza and Bianco pizza. Lovely with bottle of beer and fantastic March afternoon.

OMG BEST PIZZA EVER! Just found this pub on off chance. Really lovely vibe, nice welcome from barman. The pizzas were amazing and I would thoroughly recommend this pub. Lovely seating, great music, fabulous experience!

I rarely write reviews at all, but felt compelled due to the rudeness of the young lady that served us our drinks. Might have stopped for more had I thought they deserved the custom! I politely ordered drinks; a wine and a double G&T. I asked her not to put so much ice in the glass and she made me feel as though I was way too fussy. She shook her head as if in disgust, removed the ice and threw the tongues on the work surface. I really wanted to be rude back, but I bit my tongue and just decided that we wouldn’t go back but honestly felt like walking out there and then. I really couldn’t believe what I was seeing; How these people think they’ll gain repeat customers with such a vile attitude is beyond me, but I suspect that this lady won’t be there for long!
