We went to the restaurant for the lunch tasting menu, absolutely beautiful. The coeliac / gluten free option, was almost identical, you couldn't tell the difference!! Very minimal changes, Fabulous!

We went to visit St. Andrews for the golf and celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary. I will say you will spend some money however I will also say the entire experience and the food was beyond worth it. The pre drink service was so warm and professional. The staff spoiled us with attentiveness and great cocktails and wine. When our table was ready we were escorted to our table and had the by far the best food experience we have ever had. Each course was beautifully prepared and so delicious. You have choices on your courses with every course well thought out and prepared. If you go to St. Andrews it is a must go! Thank you greatly to the Chef and staff.

Food is absolutely amazing but unfortunately on this occasion the halibut came with a sauce of lemon and rosemary but the rosemary was far too overpowering for the fish.

The Peat Inn, nestled in the picturesque countryside of Fife, is a true gem for those seeking a luxurious and gastronomic experience. This establishment seamlessly combines modern comfort and sophistication. Our stay in one of their exquisite split level suite was nothing short of exceptional. The tastefully decorated suite radiated elegance and provided all the necessary amenities for a relaxing and indulgent experience. The attention to detail in every aspect of the room was impressive, from the plush bedding to the opulent bathroom fixtures. A major highlight of my stay was the delectable evening meal. The Peat Inn's Michelin-starred restaurant serves up culinary masterpieces that tantalize the taste buds and leave you craving for more. Each dish on the seasonal menu was beautifully presented and featured fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, showcasing the region's rich produce. The knowledgeable staff provided impeccable service and were always ready to offer insightful wine pairing recommendations to complement the exquisite flavors. The breakfast was equally delightful, served in the comfort of my room. A lavish spread of fresh fruit, pastries, and artisanal jams accompanied by freshly brewed coffee and tea made for a delightful start to the day. The only minor disappointment was that the boiled eggs could only be ordered soft-boiled. However, this was a small blemish on an otherwise flawless dining experience. Another noteworthy feature was the stunning garden view from the bedroom. The meticulously landscaped garden, adorned with vibrant flowers and lush greenery, added an extra touch of charm to the already picturesque setting. However, it is worth mentioning that the room lacked privacy, as the large windows allowed people in the garden to see into the bedroom, unless the curtains were drawn. In conclusion, I highly recommend a stay at The Peat Inn for those seeking luxury accommodation and an unforgettable dining experience. This Fife treasure has mastered the art of combining refined elegance with warm hospitality, making it a truly memorable destination.

This has been on the radar for a number of years now but for whatever reason it's taken so long to eat here.... We were greeted with an open fire and a seat next to it, the atmosphere was quiet probably to quiet for most. The food it's self was lovely the dishes were well presented and tasted amazing the only issue I had was with the braised beef I didn't enjoy this as it was overcooked to the point it didn't taste of anything the visual appeal was there but not much else. The fish dishes were 🔥 the halibut was exceptional and probably the best I have ever had, the monkfish cheeks were almost on par but again ever so slightly overdone the ganache was again excellent! We will definitely be back for the fish.

What a lovely establishment. This was our first time staying overnight, but we’ve been lucky to eat at the restaurant on a number of occasions. As always, the tasting menu was prepared to a high standard. The staff were friendly and attentive. The fire was on in the lounge, so we got to enjoy a drink next to the fire which is always lovely. The suites were lovely. As expected, everything was to a high standard and we loved having our breakfast in the loft area. We had one tiny quibble - the lack of water pressure in the shower. But overall an amazing experience that is highly recommended!

I don’t think they do a good job of capturing the atmosphere, dishes, location, and decor and bringing it all together to tell a cohesive story. The food felt random and though the service was good, it was a bit impersonal. I think this place has a lot of potential and could really amp up the experience with better story telling, and helping their guests feel connected to the meal. Dishes are visually appealing but I think the price point is too high for the meal to just be okay (captured some of the dishes below).

Amazing food and brilliant service! They put on a vegan menu for us and it was some of the best food I've had, definitely the best vegan dessert I've ever eaten. A real gem and well worth the investment in a meal you won't forget in a hurry.

Was here for dinner only. Food delicious and varied. It is expensive but I think it is worth it for the quality. Staff attentive and friendly. Restaurant wasn't particularly busy but that was probably the time of year (January 2024) and the fact there was a storm set to hit (Storm Jocelyn). We lost power twice (briefly) during the meal. Staff remained calm when this happened. Chocolate soufflé was the best I've ever had. Deer was exquisite. I was driving so did not have any alcohol but they had a good range of mocktails and the wine list looked extensive. Only negative (and not the restaurants fault) was the loud Australian man at a table of 7 who we could hear droning on about his martial woes and his messy divorce at full volume. This was very off putting.

Travelling from Carluke today seems to be a long way to go for lunch but once we arrived it was all worth while. The service from the staff was first class throughout - attentive but not overbearing. The food was fantastic my wife and I made different choices for each course and all were beautifully presented and prepared and we loved every bite. And best of all the helpings were generous and we came alway having enjoyed a proper meal at a good price. Well done to all! We'll be back! Neil

Great restaurant with rooms definitely worth a stay. The rooms are big and in good condition. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is nothing much nearby (except an alpaca farm that looked fun but not really winter/rainy day suitable) so be prepared for a drive . Although like everything else breakfast was great we were slightly disappointed that they were no hot breakfast options. The food at the restaurant was phenomenal and definitely worth the trip both the a la cart and tasting menu were exciting, beautiful and delicious

We came in for a meal- one of the Best dinners in Scotland. The venison and the chocolate souffle were spectacular. The service was exemplary. So happy we made this detour! PS- Google Maps takes you to the wrong location- don't turn off the road onto a tiny road- this is very much on the side of the road through Cupar.

Hidden Gem! We celebrated here in June and had a wonderful trip. The room was spacious, immaculate and had everything you would expect of high end rooms. I preferred this room to other notable restaurants with rooms we have visited in the UK. The reception area was intimate, we were offered a range of cocktails and we felt completely relaxed before dinner. We opted for the tasting menu and wine which were exceptional and there was a lovely atmosphere. We were at no point rushed and the food was exceptional. Thanks Peat Inn team!

Great food served pleasantly with a great wine pairing. Service was impeccable and, with a little encouragement, conversation with the staff was interesting and involved. Normally I lost lots of photos but here you will surely get something different and intriguing, do just come, easy, relax and enjoy.

The restaurant is fantastic. The food was brilliant, the service excellent - it was very busy though. The rooms though, disappoint. They are lovely and the unexpected extras welcome. However the flowers are plastic (really!) and the sofa oddly uncomfortable. And very expensive. You can get far more for the same money a few miles down the road in St Andrews. I will do the restaurant again, but I'll avoid the rooms.

Don’t take this review about the food and the staff or the golf course. I worked there for just a month, the staff wear kind and lovely to work with. What I didn’t expect was the main manager Paolo to start shouting at me on the phone after asking why I haven’t been paid on time. As there was no communication given to me after I was let go I just think this was so unprofessional, so if you do work here I give you caution.
