Great pub food atmosphere lots of beers tidy prices

Service is very good when the barmaids are there, at other times service varies.

Visited on 25th on off chance and what a lovely place. Nice beers and fantastic welcoming atmosphere well worth a visit!

Fantastic, very welcoming, offered me a taste of all the ales which are fantastic. The beers are all Rhymney Brewery and I only paid £3 per pint for the ones I had, the Bitter is splendid. Well worth a visit! Will visit again, probably tomorrow 😁

a terrible place to go. The atmosphere here was awful and nevertheless treated and humiliated by the ‘lady’ behind the bar. She was wearing a white dress which was ever so slightly see through (may I add a lot of younger females have dressed worse). . She was demanded to finish her drink and leave. As she was finishing her drink she received abuse and terrible attitude from the bar staff member. And the worst thing was she was shamed in front of loads of men. This is disgusting behaviour. I am hoping that other people don’t get treated the same.

Great atmosphere, Rhymney Brewery pub. Hope they add some more citra hoppy ipa to their repertoire... then a 5 star review. Hobby Horse is a nice beer as starting point. Also Camra discount always a good thing to find.

The wonky bar lived up to its name, the staff great, and the beers were good.

A trip to this pub is essential while visiting Pontypridd,takes you back in time, cracking choice of Rhymney Ales,Large Sport screens,plenty of old timers to talk too,Staff Excellent, Cheers,K

Aka the Wonky Bar, a great local friendly bar with a great selection of beer and ales. Live entertainment and sports makes it perfect to start your night out. There is a good crown in the afternoon and always a friendly face to enjoy a pint with. Disabled friendly but ramp to toilet is a bit steep

Known locally as The Wonky, visit it at least once in your lifetime for the experience. You will either love it or hate it depending on how stuck up you are! If easily offended stay away cos it has some real characters ;0)

It's a pub. For drinking in. Usually full of people who enjoy drinking, and the company of their friends, who also enjoy drinking. If you want steak and ale pie, horse brasses, 17th century facades etc, then go somewhere else. Excellent beer, jukebox and eccentric local characters, it's a winner!

This is a proper old fashioned boozer in a modern setting, DO NOT GO HERE for the decor however you will get the best beer in Pontypridd Town, you need to cross the river for the nearest competition. A must visit pub after watching Pontypridd Rugby Club @Sardis Road.

We visited The Patriot in July 2014 whilst we were on holiday from Australia visiting family in Pontypridd. What a great Welsh welcome we received, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Phil the Landlord was a real gent, he sat and chatted with us for hours and he kindly gave us some gifts to bring back to Australia. The real ale was fantastic and very well kept. Phil says that he is coming to visit us in Australia, we look forward to seeing you.The real stars of the Wonky Bar are Michelle and Lorraine, they kept us all entertained on a nightly basis.we will certainly visit again when we next come home to Wales.
