The Old Library never lets you down! Lovely food and perfect atmosphere

Had lunch with a friend. I had a very good tuna mayo sandwich. All freshly made with nice salad and crisps. My friend enjoyed the thai fishcakes. Good coffee and very nice and friendly service 😀

Between 11am and midday kitchen is closed and only cakes from counter available. Breakfast finishes at 11am and lunch menu starts from midday until 4pm

Went here for lunch recently and really enjoyed it. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff and while the food is maybe not amazing, just fine, we found it so comfortable and warm that we’d def come back. We’ve been here before and the food was better but it was expensive and so quiet that it was quite miserable. Likely the new menu - burgers, pizza, paninis etc - prob has wider appeal and it’s nice to see the place is well run.

Always a good spot to stop for coffee or food.

What a lovely place to eat and drink. Myself and Adie have experienced lots of meals both early morning and afternoons which are delicious. Highly recommend and staff are extremely friendly and helpful

A big thank you to Harry and the other staff for coping with the big group of walkers who arrive every Monday morning. He makes us very welcome and serves all the drinks with a smile. The social side of this local Walking For Health group is really important so The Old Library is an important venue in the village for us.

Attended with 4 friends to celebrate an engagement last Saturday. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco and our mains at 6, and we were not offered another drink the entire night, nor any desserts. We couldn’t even get someone’s attention to request something, it was as if our table didn’t exist. We ended up asking for the bill at the front desk and requested the service charge to be removed and there was no question as to why this was. We would have stayed longer and given them more business if we’d have been attended to! Very disappointing. They were not rushed off of their feet but had a good number of tables still when we left so it was not as if we were keeping them open. We felt a complete inconvenience.

Sat down for a coffee with my laptop to check a few emails my day off not working only seats available in a booth. 25 minutes later asked to move by the manager for a group happily obliged packed up my stuff only there was nowhere else to sit. I hadn't been nursing coffee intending to stay for the morning. He, after the fact offered to move his own laptop for me to be at the bar. If you want to free up tables check you have somewhere else for customers to sit. Really poor customer service and very rude.

Nice coffee but after 25 minutes I was asked to move table when there weren't any others available so I packed up ready to move and had nowhere else to sit. Really bad customer service especially from the owner who asked me to move

Good to have in the village. Good hot chocolate. Does gluten free pizza. Food is okay, more convenient rather than gourmet. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff.

Just stopped for a coffee so can't comment on the food. Service was good and staff friendly.

It's got a cool vide, good mix of people of all ages and the coffee was good.

I know the owners they are all about the community and are truly friendly and honest people.

With exclusive use for the evening, I had a fantastic birthday celebration with friends at The Old Library. Moe is an amazing chef and he really went to town to provide us with fabulous food, great service from his staff, excellent wine and beer, lovely ambience and an altogether enjoyable evening. We are so blessed to have this lovely restaurant in Long Ashton.

What a great transformation from one community building (library) to another (cafe bar). Very tastefully refurbished with a modern feel and fantastic food (I attended a private party there, and the selection and quality of the finger food was top notch!). Nice young staff were polite and smiley. This is a great place to meet, drink and eat if you're in and around Long Ashton.

Tried the pizza and small plates. All the food served up was beautifully presented and was very tasty. Staff very friendly and attentive.

We called in at The Old Library, in Long Ashton, today - our first visit - and it was busy, surprisingly so for a Monday. It was mid-morning and we ordered cappuccino coffees at the counter, which were brought to our table in the window. There was a short wait, but the service was pleasant. Presentation of the coffee was good, but not especially hot. Breakfast / brunch appeared popular with other customers. Update - a second pleasant visit today - most enjoyable!

I really recommend this place for meals and parties. Had a fabulous Christmas Party there. Amazing food , excellent value and a really relaxed and welcoming atmosphere

Wonderful Tapas with friends. Really delicious Tapas from cheese, to meat and fish brilliantly cooked and presented. I'm definitely coming back!

Lovely coffee and great atmosphere

This is a lovely place for a coffee or a bite to eat. We didn't eat but the coffee (one latte and one flat white) were particularly good and value for money. Good atmosphere - still has a vibe of the old library, hence the name I guess 🤣Plenty of tables and seats, nice looking cakes, worth popping in if you're in the area.

A popular spot for coffee and light meals. in fact in Long Ashton it's the only cafe restaurant.

Nice breakfast but a bit pricey

Loved this place. Good coffee, good croissant, good music, good indoor space good street space. ( Clean toilet too) Yes I liked it very much and will re visit when my friend returns for her next dental appointment at the best dentist (Martin Smith at New Chestnuts in the same road)

Have been a few times and have never experienced anything bad at all. I’ve been lunch time, afternoon and evening and it’s always been great. Everyone who works there is local, and they seem like a good team who all get on with each other.

Walked in and there is a sign to say please wait to be seated which we did. Waiter came over and put hands up and said sit where you like but you can see all the tables are full and reserved. Felt like we were not welcome and left

Lovely bfast menu and looked delicious but unfortunatly finished serving just before we arrived.

I have been to the old Library many times and i have had both done takeaway and dine in. The food is absolutely delicious and they have an option for just about anyone. The employees are really friendly and Helpful. Would highly recommend.

I love coming for coffee and cake here !! The coffee is always made perfectly, babycinno for my little girl is always done perfect temperature and the cakes are so yummy ! I have also had breakfast here a few times and would really recommend. Staff are always super friendly !!

Lucky to have the Old Library as a local cafe, restaurant and takeaway. Good coffee and food, especially the pizzas. Nice contemporary decor and a comfy place to pass the time in. Dog-friendly outside only.

Just right for passing a hour while waiting for friends in Long Ashton. Very nice coffee. I was pleased to see children getting actual books off the shelves and enjoying them, while their mothers played with their phones.

Such lovely and accommodating staff and the cakes are cracking! Dogs are welcome outside and water is provided. I would use it more if dogs could go inside.

I really lovely cafe to visit on a Saturday morning after a big bike ride. Smashed avocado on toast was spot on, and the iced coffee was excellent. Great friendly and chatty staff who made us feel very welcome. Just off the more busy road, so sitting outside in the sun was pretty quiet. Will certainly be back, thank you.

Terribly run business. Have tried to order from here 4 seperate times over the last few years. 1st time was - was told they didn't have enough dough 2nd time - was told that they wernt sure if they had enough Ingredients to serve restaurant customers so could not take my order for a takeaway. When I asked if they were fully booked they said no. 3rd time - I ate in the restaurant, service was fine but expensive pizza 4th time (last night) they had run out of takeaway boxes so couldn't do takeaways

Love this cafe as its my local near where I live Relaxed and chilled , great staff , lovely cakes (but I can't have as I just recently diagnosed with Diabetes)

I ordered eggs with spinach. When it came thought bit small BUT was filling and the best Hollandaise sauce I have ever had. Atmosphere and young staff excellent. Thanks guys Sue from LA

We had prior reservations, shown to our table on arrival, service with a smile, interesting menu, I think the five of us had five different choices. Everyone had a smile. Not overly expensive and fun surroundings. I'd go again.

Nice people, but young and so lack a bit of experience at times. It was unclear if as a customer I was supposed to take a table and wait for someone to take my order or whether to go to the counter.

We love The Old Library! Great village cafe/bar/restaurant with a different vibe at different times of day...it's a regular haunt for me and the four year old (flat white for me, babyccino for him), and they do fantastic pizzas as well, with seasonal specials. The soft serve ice cream machine is a welcome addition, with a range of toppings and sauces to choose from. There's outside seating too, which is covered on days with less predictable weather. Friendly staff, great food and drink (try the cakes and biscuits) and a loyalty scheme for hot drinks, too.

Had a fantastic experience here 25/03/22. Service was superb, helpful and friendly and the pizzas were delicious too. Would definitely recommend.

If you like thin crust proper, traditional Italian oven cooked pizza this is the place for you. Also, a a great selection of brunch items. Great for a family as they have lots of books/games - or you can bring your own. I love having a great pizza bistro in the village, if we don't use and support it we'll lose it. The biscoff millionaire's shortbread and other yummy bakes are divine! Keep it up!

First time I have been to the old library. Went with friends and had a cracking time. Well worth a visit, the staff extremely helpful and friendly.

I’ve been to the OL many times and whilst the service is patchy the food has already made up for it. Today (during half term) the pizza was horrible. It was greasy and slimy. I complained but no discount or apology (other than we used different cheese) was given. The food today would put me off returning. My pizza loving children didn’t even eat their pizzas.

Great community restaurant /coffee shop. Not tried their pizzas yet but I've heard good things. Coffee was very well done and there's an ice cream machine which is great for children and adults alike. Nicely decorated and with a good vibe. I'll be back soon

Exquisite pizzas, nice atmosphere and excellent customer service. Cannot wait to go back! We were sat next to the books which the kids thoroughly enjoyed engaging with throughout the meal. We were particularly impressed by staff member Harry, he really took the time to talk to us, he has a good sense of humour and is very polite. The kids talked about him all the way home. He is a real credit to the business.

My first visit here. Went for Brunch after parkrun. What more could I want. Lover the decor and the atmosphere. Service was top notch - efficient and with a smile. Food was very tasty. I'll be back.

Had a family meal here with five adults easily fitting in a booth. It was comfy, cosy and just what we wanted. We all had pizza which was delicious and served quickly. Lovely decor too!

Thank god the old chef is long gone! Went again as I heard there was a new menu. The handmade dough is back! Amazing choice of pizza and cooked to perfection. The young staff were attentive and properly trained. A real change from a month ago. I've changed my review from 1 star to 4

Love the friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. Decor is attractive and adds to the feel of the cafe. They do amazing pizzas that are cooked on the premises. I'm a coaliac but that is no problem as they have home made pizza bases which are GF. Same goes for the selection of cakes - usually two GF cakes to choose from. My favourite cafe for a coffee or lunch.

The smoky beans on the breakfast menu and the pizzas are phenomenal! Lovely guys who are doing an amazing job. Also very cool and clean inside. Can't recommend enough!

What a gem! Great cocktails (including aperol spritz for that full Italian feeling) and the pizzas are simply superb - I honestly don’t think you can get better in places a lot more expensive. On that note, the prices are very reasonable too. The staff are really friendly and go out of their way to help. A great addition to the local area and highly recommended!

Traditional local coffee shop with a twist. They serve food including pizza in and outside. So, a bit more than a coffee shop, though the coffee is well up to scratch. Fee WiFi and roominess make for a convenient meeting place. Cheerful staff add to the experience. It's a slightly unusual place, that might grow on me and earn another star.
