Tommy at the bar is amazing, he took his time explaining each cocktail that he was bringing to us which we loved. The live music and atmosphere were great overall.

Superb service, drinks and food!

Not the cocktails I expected to have. I only took one sip as more it seemed like a long drink than a proper cocktail. Service was very good and the ambience and interior was very nice. We paid extra 6£/person for the live music which to be honest most of the time looked like they were loudly chatting instead of singing and performing. Overall, not the experience I expected to have.

We didn’t eat here (just had cocktails) but we had an amazing night! Incredible live music throughout the evening! The staff were very friendly and recommended cocktails to us based on our taste. I changed my mind on what cocktail I wanted pretty last minute (they were already making it - very annoying of me, I know) but the staff were very happy to accommodate us! Great service, friendly staff, fantastic drinks!

Classic speakeasy style bar with good cocktails. The whiskey based cocktail with candy floss was very smooth. The old fashioned was classic. They charge £10pp if you stay past 9pm for the live music which I think is a shame because you go there for the atmosphere and are already paying a premium for the cocktails. However, they do tell you about this and the waiter will come round and let you know prior to 9pm. Nice atmosphere.

Went here for the first time the other night- and I must say, their cocktail knowledge & range is exquisite. The service was absolutely fantastic. I was served by the beautiful and lovely Chernae. Not only was she attentive, friendly, warm and smiley - she was incredibly efficient and knew what she was doing. I am blown away by the live music there as well. Was so beautiful, classy and elegant and I will definitely be returning again.

The ambience was really chill. A great shout out to the cocktails, me and my partner ordered 5 which we enjoyed very much. The staff were very attentive, Chaneta was great, providing good recommendations and also checking up on our experience.

Great cocktails! Live jazz music! Just a bit too loud to talk

I booked for 7pm for my boyfriends birthday, we were immediately welcomed by friendly team members, and then had the absolute joy and pleasure of ordering a selection of cocktails we'd never tried before. The flaming Samurai was excellent as was the new Orleans fizz (not sure they are exact names) we were also treated to a little birthday cake which was very much appreciated and really made our day. Thank you, we look forward to coming back!

Das gesamte Personal ist super lieb und aufmerksam. Nachdem unsere reservierte Zeit "abgelaufen" war, hatten wir das Glück noch 2 Plätze an der Bar ergattern zu können. Die Cocktails sind zwar teurer als man es aus Deutschland gewöhnt ist, dafür sind sie was ganz besonderes und es macht einfach Spaß, den Barkeepern zuzuschauen wie sie richtige Kunstwerke zaubern. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen

Not my kind of vibe, but seems very nice to have a romantic night out, or just a nice place to talk with friends with jazz private concerts to listen to while drinking good cocktails. If you are adventurous then you would love to discover the selections of the bar. The service was ok. You get a nice touch with the visit cards that are game cards with nice illustrations, which is a nice souvenir.

My husband and I booked a table last night just for cocktails and to watch the band. The cocktails as you would expect were superb and the band were incredible. Venue intimate and service was great. My only bug bare was when you arrive and are seated you are given water (which was always topped up) and a small cup of popcorn. When we ordered another round of cocktails I ask if we could have another cup (literally a small pot) of popcorn and was told the first popcorn was complimentary however if you required another one it would be £3. Now I appreciate £3 is not a lot but when you are paying £100 including charge for 4 cocktails felt a tad tight!!!

The nightjar is a curated and relaxing experience. Staff look after you very well keeping you topped up with water and quickly offering you your next tipple when they spy you are finished. My friend had a food allergy which the staff remembered immediately when he asked for a cocktail containing his. Selection of cocktails are unique, well presented and mixed. I recall the serving used to be more flamboyant now most drinks are in regular glasses but hey still a fantastic experience.

Overall - not the best cocktails but certainly great service and ambiance. Only 2 of the 4 I tried were good that I’d reorder. Dizzy sour was good. Nice profile. Zombie was the best. Not too strong and well balanced. Volcano was a bit average. Bird as definitely not worth it. Unless you like really intense and strong whiskey flavours. Just cheese and corn in veg snacks to eat. The cheese came with a nice berry jam. Corns were average. Service was great and ambiance was classy. Nice live music.

The cocktails were top-notch: inventive, delicious, and tasted exactly as described. Going on a Monday night it was pretty quiet which was great for catching up with friends. The venue is down a long flight of stairs and very stylish with great service.

Some larger parties inside the nightclub can make it a little bit awkward if you’re there on a date or just with somebody else for an intimate setting. Large groups make it not so intimate. I think they should work on that. No one needs a party of 10 and a jazz club. Stay away from the popcorn if you value your teeth.

such a nice atmoshphere as a textbook speakeasy spot, tonights live performance was a great fit as well. i wish the top cocktails would match the quality, though, i experimented two overprice coctailsin the menu, godfather and tortuga. godfather was promisin with a nicely aged macallan but too much mediocre cider definitely dominated the Mac. when i saw tortuga’s contents, Ardberg was really challenging, bold choice to make a coctail with. unfortunately it dominated the tasteeven before u sip, it doesnt feel caribean but scot:(. keep up the good work in the interior, but reconsider the big guns in the menu.they have to be signature!

My first visit back since they opened. Obviously the “edge” has gone, cocktails (always pricey) a little more pricey. Bar food is just that - nibbles. That aside, service was very good, attentive but not overly & convivial. Atmosphere was good without being overcrowded. The live music enhanced the atmosphere.

Excellent cocktails in this part of town with live jaZz bands and a truly special atmosphere. Closes rather early so make sure to get there to taste some of their very special cocktails.

Excellent service, great atmosphere and the cocktails were amazing. Huge variety and complexity of the menu to keep you busy, boozing and buzzing throughout the evening. Definitely recommend. It's my third time already and it did not disappoint. Best to pre book a table unless able to wait outside until one becomes available. I did not try any of the bar food though but the cocktail made up for it!

A very atmospheric cocktail bar, where you should come for a live music concert, we attended jazz, 2 hours of pure pleasure. Huge selection of cocktails, no food at all. Overall, a great place to spend an evening with good music and cocktails.

Went there 10 years ago when it was ranked second best bar in the world. Came back this year and for me it is still the best bar in the world period. Amazing cocktails, top notch service and incredible atmosphere.

This was such a lovely venue to round off my sister’s hen do. Everyone was so attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was brilliant. One thing that made so much difference was that the staff give you glasses of water without you asking, and constantly top you up. Sounds like a small thing but it made all the difference. Never known a bar to be so on top of hydration 😂 Only down side was that the toilets are very dark, down a step with narrow swing doors. My mum found this difficult as she struggles with her knees. So I wouldn’t say the toilets were very accessible, and more light in there wouldn’t spoil the speakeasy vibe of the bar. Other than that, amazing place and will be returning!

Visited with my boyfriend on Friday 5th and we loved it! Not sure the name of our waitress but she was super friendly and gave us great cocktail recommendations, and even though it was very busy the service was still fab! The cocktails were amazing and so many to choose from. Didn't try the food this time around but hopefully when we go back! The live music was also brilliant. Overall a great night out, would definitely recommend!

We had a great experience up until receiving the bill. Hit with a £50 music charge (£10pp). We weren’t told this at the door, or by any staff when entering. It borderlines almost a scam when you’re hit with a fee that you don’t know you’re paying for until the end. Would’ve come here and recommended this to friends, however the lack of transparency about this fee has made this a really distrusting establishment. Really disappointed, when it’s not signaled anywhere and NO staff member mentioned this at all before entering….

The atmosphere is great and the waiters are extremely friendly. The variety of wines has many flavors. Is it ordinary? But Asian friends can really come and experience it.

Another must visit if you are a lover of cocktails ! It’s a hidden bar with a ‘blink and you miss door’, But once you enter it’s a different world - regal interiors, dimly lit, live music and fantastic cocktails They don’t have any options for food except basic nuts / crackers / almonds so go prepared They also take cover charges which goes to the performing artist and it’s worth every penny. We went on a Tuesday night and it was packed with a great jazz band playing.

Ambience is incredible. Service and drinks were fantastic. We absolutely loved the music and everything about this place. There is nothing else quite like this in the UK. Must visit for anyone that enjoys jazz and a good time.

Beautiful environment! Drinks were beautiful and strong. We also had dessert which was amazing. There was a live jazz band from New Orleans that I absolutely adored. Staff was busy but were very polite. Would highly recommend!

Nice staff and great cocktails. Atmosphere is nice but a bit crowded and you sit very close to others. Cocktails are not cheap but worth the price.

Very happy with our visit in Nightjar, service was super quick and very friendly. Cocktails were one of the best we tried. I have asked server if there's anything he can serve with a candle to surprise my partner on her birthday, then he brought small cake with candle together with our drinks which was very nice. Place was filled up as for Monday night and there was live music, very nice atmosphere. On the way out we been handed couple of sets of their signature playing cards as complimentary for the birthday occasion, super happy with it, definitely will come back!

We went on a Sunday and booked ahead through the website. The cocktails were absolutely fantastic, the presentation and taste were both on point. However the live music was somewhat disappointing, it’s supposed to be a blues night, the guitarist rhythms was off, the pianist didn’t seem to care much but rather continued to self indulge. The tune range of the instruments were too similar and it feels more like a clash rather than a harmony. We couldn’t stand it and left after two songs.

Super place! Cocktails made to perfection. Those who know the world of speakeasies will appreciate them! Reservations are recommended. The Italian guys who work there are special ❤️

After having had a really disappointing experience previously, it was great to come back and experience both great service and atmosphere. We were served by Nelson (if I remember correctly) and wanted to say he was really attentive and made our experience special.

Amazing bar, really loved it here. We came as walk-ins and were immediately greeted very warmly. They have a very extensive drink menu, which the barkeepers prepare with a lot of love. The music was a bit too loud at times, but all in all it’s a very nice place to be.

By FAR the best speakeasy I’ve ever been to! And I have been to many! Let me start by saying the ambience gives off the perfect and most authentic feel to a speakeasy. The cocktails were AMAZING and so creative! Each drink was extremely unique. Had the chance to have live band which topped off the whole experience. Next time I visit London I can’t wait to come back!

I think considering it is in the top 50 bars our expectations were perhaps too high for NightJar. Drinks were OK though usually overpowered by one primary ingredient. We went on a Wednesday night so there was definitely a lack of atmosphere in the place even when the live music came on which we stayed to watch for 25 minutes before deciding it was just as lackluster as the rest of the atmosphere. We paid the bill (note there is a £6 per person cover charge for listening to the music- I understand this goes to the musicians which is a lovely idea but if we had the option we wouldn't have paid it for the designated singer that night). The lady who sat and served us was very quick in noticing empty glasses ready for another round so service was 5/5. Overall- for live music and nice drinks there are a quite a few other places in Shoreditch that will have better atmospheres and on par drinks (but maybe less exotic ingredients).

I had such an incredible time at Night Jar! I went on a bar crawl of all the best cocktail spots in Shoreditch and Night Jar was easily the highlight of the entire day. Giuseppe and Tommy offered phenomenal hospitality, taking time to connect and it was wonderful hearing about their passion for making amazing drinks and giving people a good time. I felt so fortunate to spend the evening with them. The No10 & It was absolutely fantastic, an unbelievable entry to World Class 2024. The boys were so welcoming and blew me away with their cocktail suggestions. Thank you so much!

My wife and I had a great time at this speakeasy bar. The music was fun, the cocktails so very creative, quaint and delicious. The seating was so cosy, the decor charming. It was a night so fun and unique, we both will remember it for a long time!

I love this cozy venue with creative drinks and a small stage. I was pleased to get same-day reservations. The band was so close it felt like they were playing just for us, yet it wasn't too loud. I will definitely come back here next time I'm in London.

I had booked this speakeasy after dinner on a Friday night, and was really surprised. The bar from the front is unassuming, but once you go down it is a big room with lots of tables. Our table was right in front of the stage, which was fine but had we sat in the chair our back would have been to the stage, so we squashed together on the sofa. The band, Gypsy Dynamite, were FANTASTIC. As a last minute substitute to the band we were going to see, I am really pleased these guys were our replacement. They were enthusiastic, very good, and clearly loved what they did. We had one cocktail which was very strong and not quite to our taste, but the bar also offered beer and wine which was great. For us, service was very good. The only thing that was a little bit frustrating is that at 11pm, we were asked to leave as someone was here for our table (we had paid our bill and were waiting for the band to finish their final song before we left). Once we went upstairs, there was no queue and nobody waiting, with a few other spare tables around, so I'm not sure why they did this. It was really hot where we were sitting, so keep this in mind!

This was the best bar experience I've ever enjoyed! We tried 10 of their cocktails, and every single one was so awesome that it made us exclaim, "WOW!" Such special recipes, all expertly crafted and presented, delivered with stellar (and very knowledgeable) service. We were able to enjoy great live music (with an excellently balanced sound system and not overwhelmingly loud) by the Tim Penn Duo. Nightjar Shoreditch is absolutely worth it. It's very clear that everyone at Nightjar is passionate about what they do. If I lived here, I'd be a regular, and I can't wait to come again and try more cocktails.

Excellent speakeasy with lovely jazz music and fancy cocktails!

We had reservations here on a Sunday evening - they were very accommodating when I emailed to say we were running a little late. Staff were not rude but no one was especially friendly. Some tables appeared to get table service, we did not. Drinks were okay, they looked better than they tasted. Jazz was good but seemed extraordinarily loud, no chance of having a chat. We left after two drinks… nice enough but there are friendlier bars in the area with better cocktails, doubt we’ll be back.

The cocktails were some of the best cocktails I've ever tasted! I had the samurai cocktail and the yokohama. The servers/ staff were excellent. They took time to explain the cocktails, it was a really quick and friendly service in a wonderful setting, the cocktails all had a flair about them as well in their presentation !
