We only really stopped in for a hot drink and cake after our amazing guided tour before we set off back home. Everything was really nice food wise, just what we wanted, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Thank You

What a wonderful little treat! Called in for breakfast on the way to Hafod estate and extremely glad we did. Delicious breakfast baps, excellent coffee and the home made cakes... out of this world! All of the staff were an absolute pleasure to chat to, couldn't do anymore for us and were fantastic with our little pup too as its dog friendly! Thank you so much!!

I have popped in a few times but decided to leave a review this time. Great food at great prices. Staff very friendly, and the cakes are perfection! They’ve got new furniture recently which allows you to sit in comfort, and then once finished, you are surrounded by amazing scenery. Take a chance to also partake in the Silver Mountain Experience, which has a number of fantastic tour guides, teaching you the history of the mines in the area, or take part in ‘The Black Chasm’ which is their ‘scare tour’. There’s also a kiddies tour where you have to find a dragon, but being 33 I haven’t quite taken part in that as of yet! Anyway, the cafe is 5*. Service great. Food great.

Had a really good Afternoon Tea here... tea, delicious cakes and a selection of sandwiches. Sat in the outdoor area which was peaceful and had nice hillside views! The friendly staff attended to all our needs, would recommend

We went yesterday (17th Oct). We both had the miners ploughman's. Really enjoyed it. On previous visits we have tried the miners pasty and jacket potatoes (they have some amazing fillers). Covid measures in place really well. We were fortunate to be able to eat outside....which made the visit even better....oh and our dogs were allowed in too.

I work local to John/sandras cafe and i visit there weekly for my breakfast, beautiful place with lots going on, amazing hosts, and lovely atmosphere. The food is very well prepared, and will continue to visit here for as long as possible. Highly recommend, great place.

We called into the Black Lion in Aberaeron about 2:30 for some lunch. The two of us, plus our granddaughter and the dog. I asked if we were ok to bring the dog in and was told he was more that welcome. He got served before us as once we were seated they brought him a bowl of water! We ordered drinks and food. The food was exceptional. (We asked for and was given a takeaway container to take what we didn't eat home, it was that nice. We would 100% recommend going there, and will be visiting again ourselves. Very friendly and helpful staff (all three of the ones who we spoke to) 6 stars all the way as I can't give a 5 plus.

Jonathan kindly made a great tasting sandwich for me even after the kitchen had closed for the afternoon. Will definitely visit again. Thank you!

What a wonderful couple who run the deli/cafe/restaurant. It is Aberystwyth's treasure. The food cooked by Mario and his wife Chiara is amazing and very reasonably priced. They are an important part of the community and they care.

Perfection It has been a long time since we had a meal as excellent as this . We visited on a Saturday evening and it was busy but you would have thought you were having a private dining experience . The whole thing runs like a Swiss timepiece. Oh and then ther is the food. A seasonal menu of locally sourced food with the talent of a chef who really knows what they are doing. A generous portion of superlative focaccia set us off and we chose a bottle of Appasimento for £30 I had a starter of crispy pork cheek with hoisin and cucumber on a butter milk waffle . My husband had a pork liver parfait with chutney and treacle bread . I had a rare fillet of beef with spiced butter, bordelaise and triple cooked chips. My husband had roast cod with leeks, cheddar mash and a warm sauce tartare. Desserts -a crème brûlée with a raspberry Madelaine and a white chocolate cheesecake with a blackberry sorbet . We finished with their home made caramel fudge . I cannot single out a thing as ‘the best’ , it was all so very delicious and such superb quality . Treat yourself!
