Average food, dull flavours compared to what Mexican food should taste like

Food was so delicious and the service was very quick. They also have great deals, will for sure come back.

Such a lovely place. The food, the atmosphere and the staff never fail to impress. We visit on a regular basis and it truly relaxes me to just sit there taking in the atmosphere and enjoying the food.

Amazing place to go with your family/ friends / kids. I had a pleasure to try their buffet and it's going to be something special. The chicken mole is something I will love to have on my Sunday roast dinner. All staff is absolutely perfect. You will enjoy every single minute

Wanted something different to a roast so tried their Sunday buffet.. For a casual dining what a great place to eat. Food was tasty & great value. Their chicken & pork tacos were awesome. My child is normally a picky eater but demolished his plate with gusto.. Definitely worth a try.

What a great lunch we tried the new Sunday Buffet the food was delicious great flavour with lots of choice great way to try new dishes. Staff were really attentive and great atmosphere.

What a wonderful place serving Mexican food that my American wife (and I) absolutely love. The pork tacos, either of the different styles are our favourite dishes and their tortilla chips are the best I've had in the UK. Beware the spicy Yucatan sauce. It's so hot and delicious but it is serioualy hot so take care. Staff are also so nice and friendly.

I came here for takeaway back in January 2024. We were staying at the premier inn in ware to visit my husbands grandparents. We live in Swindon so it’s a lot to do the drive for just 5 hours with his grandparents. So we tested staying overnight to see if it makes it easier. I got a takeaway from here to take back to our hotel room for the night and even takeaway, this was the best Mexican I’ve ever eaten in the uk. I got a burrito bowl as well as nachos and it was just INCREDIBLE! I’ve been craving one since and nothing measures up. We’re due to go back to the grandparents in November and all I’ve been thinking about is how excited I am to eat here again!! I can’t comment on service within the restaurant as I’ve only ever had takeaway but the service when we picked up was brilliant and the atmosphere in the restaurant seemed very authentic !! I genuinely have thought about this place frequently since I visited in January. If you live nearby, you are missing out if you’ve not been here yet!

We discovered this restaurant recently and kept coming back. Their quesadillas are to die for and the staff is always very friendly. We always enjoy dining there and we’ll keep going back.

Stopped by for lunch, wasn't disappointed! Welcoming and engaging staff, generous portions sizes on a lunchtime menu and it tasted delicious, quick with service and a great price. We will return.

Food to die for. Lovely place.

Came here for lunch for the first time. Ordered their lunchtime deal, 2 tacos, a side and drink for £12. (I think.) Food was lovely. The staff were fantastic. Sooo friendly, polite and welcoming. We got there just before they were closing and a couple of people came in just after they shut down for a while. The staff apologised but then agreed to serve them, which was so kind. Loved the decor of the place too. Definitely recommend and will be back to try more food soon!

Still the best eatery in Ware. The waitress and her sone are friendly and helpful without being intrusive to the customer. The menu has had a slight change over the past few months with some great additions.

Went on Taco Tuesday on Halloween with my family and even then it seemed over priced with the quality of the food being average (if that). We had a selection (Tapas, Borritoes, Nachoes) and came away feeling very underwhelmed (especially for the price) and cubes of meat felt like they had not been freshly cooked and didn't taste that warm? The best thing seemed to be the sharing Nachoes (we had the shredded chicken in them and at least that was not cubed meat). I thought it strange they did not do fajitas, but I'm guessing these take more time to cook and so more costly to make and would be hard to make in the small kitchen? Usually there is also the option to have hard tacoes instead of the soft ones which I would have much preffered with some quality ground/shredded meat with some fresh crisp chopped salad to put on the tacoes (something they also did not do 🙁). Was very disappointed in what was going to be a treat for our 2 children as my daughter loves tacoes and really fancied them. Must admit we should have complained at the time, but it felt like they would be unable to do much better with the ingredients they had been supplied (tasted like pre cooked cubes of meat, no fresh chopped salad) with limited kitchen space so a replacement meal would have been the same (maybe just hotter) and was just left shocked with the price at the end for the quality of the food we had received and then thought about it more on our journey home before posting this review. Maybe we could have not eaten it, complained and left, but we were hungry and it was getting late to get back home to get the children to do their homework, showered and ready for bed before school the next day. I really hate to complain (especially when the staff are so hard working), but think their hands are tied with what they are given to work with and trying to increase profit margins. 🙁 UPDATE TO THE RELY (AFTER 8 MONTHS OF ME POSING IT!) - LIKE I SAY IN MY REVIEW I FEEL THERE IS NOTHING THAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE EVEN IF I'D HAD COMPLAINED AT THE TIME AS IT WAS THE INGREDIENTS THAT WAS CHEAP (HEATED UP CUBED MEAT INSTEAD OF FRESHLY SHREDDED/GROUND MEAT). I GUESS IF I HAD COMPLAINED ALL THEY COULD HAVE DONE IS GIVEN ME MONEY OFF, BUT IT STILL WOULD HAVE BEEN A POOR QUALITY MEAL AND I JUST WANTED TO PAY AND GET HOME AS IT WAS GETTING LATE FOR MY CHILDREN'S BEDTIME. SAYING I SHOULD HAVE COMPLAINED AT THE TIME DOES NOT DEAW AWAY FROM THE FACT THAT I FEEL EVEN IF I HAD COMPLAINED A BETTER MEAL COULD NOT HAVE BEEN SUPPLIED DUE TO VERY POOR QUALITY INGREDIENTS. JUST A SHAME IT TOOK 8 MONTHS TO REPLY. KNOCKING OFF ANOTHER STAR FOR THE SERVICE, DELAY AND RESPONSE IN THE REPLY.

Best Mexican by far! Everything on the menu is delicious, and I'm not just saying that. I've tried several different Mexican restaurants, and this one is on a whole different level. The staff is fantastic and always accommodating. We've eaten there quite a few times, and it's always a great experience. The downstairs area is lovely, too. You got to try there nachos and burrito with tings de pollo 3

A great place to dine, food exceptional, staff are courteous and very helpful and whether you eat outside, inside, upstairs or downstairs the atmosphere is very welcoming. Highly recommend

We went here for a family meal and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food, Authentic Mexican cuisine. A delight to eat the freshly prepared dishes.

Burritos were nice although I generally felt it was rather expensive for what it was plus they were packed with mainly rice and not much chicken. £43 for two burritos and two drinks which I felt was very steep. Nachos were very dry and tasted a bit stale and tasteless but the Burritos were nice enough. The venue itself is quaint with a nice atmosphere.

Very friendly staff and amazing food. We came in with a large group when they were just about to close (so annoying of us - sorry again!) but they were so accommodating and extremely efficient. Food was served within 15 minutes and was very flavourful. Thanks again for your hospitality and your team is lovely!

Good food quality, with good veg and vegan options, however the service was poor, although was addressed by the manager and offered apology and option of free option. Nice atmosphere in a cosy restaurant. Our booking was lost however were squeezed in 7 peops in 6 seating.

Long wait for service and food, Burritos very dry (75% is rice) no sauces inside or served separately on the table.

Came here for a bottomless brunch for my birthday and it was nice, food was served timely and was decent. Drinks were also served quite fast and everyone had a good time. Staff were friendly.

Possibly the worst service I have experienced, we were taken to a table downstairs which was uncomfortable and then forgotten about . Our food eventually arrived after 1hour 47 mins of us ordering , we had to ask to see the manager who is clearly untrained and did not listen nor apologise, other diners were also complaining after over an hour and a half wait . Staff just kept saying they were very busy … then don’t take our booking !! Really not for us to be concerned about When the food arrived it was incorrect , tiny , over priced and not good. Our drinks were taken off the bill - but will not be returning, it is also not possible to email the management hence my review on here

Never been here before but thought we’d try it. Arrived at 6.30 and our drinks and food order was taken by 6.40, our food arrived close to 8pm. We asked three times where our food was and was abruptly told that they were sorry but busy! It’s a tiny restaurant and they were clearly busy with takeaway orders! Clearly they could not cope with sit in and takeaway, staff were stressed as everyone was complaining! Not a nice atmosphere and our food wasn’t nice either, I ate it because I was so hungry and it was late, otherwise we’d have gone elsewhere. They gave us a complementary drink and took the service charge off the bill!!

Really enjoyed a visit here. We booked and it's a good job we did, timed it nicely as it became really busy not long after we arrived. The service was great, cocktails were perfect and the food was delicious. Was an added bonus they boxed mine up as I was stuffed.

Was really looking forward to going back here for dinner last night, we haven't been for years and loved it then. Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. We waited an hour to get a tray of nachos and fries, this was after going upstairs to chase it. Some more dishes followed, but we had to chase again for a couple more, to be told there had been a mix up and it would be coming. One of our sides didn't turn up at all. Generally the food was nowhere near as good as we remember it being, nothing had a lot of flavour and it was dry. Such a shame as I loved our previous visits and am hoping they were just having an off day.

1hr15 waiting for food - chased different waiters 3 times - on the 3rd attempt we were told the 'orders up next' (ghis was +1hr05 from ordering) for a burrito and a grilled wrap. Clearly too busy serving Deliveroo than their actual restaurant and locals. Such a shame - lost a lot of respect for this place, not the first time either.

Pleasant one large area just off the High street in Ware. Staff well trained in providing superb service. Toilets clean however up a flight of stairs.

Food was good but we waited about 40 mins while everyone around us got their food, including those that arrived after us. Ended up having to get takeaway as we had to be somewhere. No acknowledgement or apology from the staff. An offer of a discount would have been nice.

My wife and I both Love this place, the chicken tacos are amazing. We would come here all the time if it were closer to us but we go whenever we're in the area.

Had lunch with our 2 young grandchildren, and we were looked after wonderfully! Compliments to all, both front of house staff and the kitchen. Kids were catered for as to their slightly 'off menu' requests, and our food was lovely. Wouldn't go anywhere else in Ware!

Always delicious and flavourful food here, especially the range of tacos. We usually share some of all of them between the table because it's hard to choose - definitely recommend the corn starter/side, the carne and pibil tacos and the tinga. It's a nice touch having alcohol free Corona - I don't see them in many other bars or restaurants. The service is always prompt and professional, the restaurant is clean and welcoming. We also got given sombreros because my friends were overly excited 😆 We recommend going on a taco Tuesday and just getting fully stuck in to ALL of the tacos - you won't be disappointed.

Love this place one of my favourite places to ear, highly recommend taco Tuesday. It is pretty expensive on any other day but the food is great.

Took over an hour and half to deliver. Called up and asked for it to arrive sooner or cancel the order. The bag was wet through with grease and went everywhere when the driver tried to deliver it, had to pick it up from my front door as it went everywhere. Food was cold and tacos soft and soggy. Quesadillas were greasy, nachos were nice but very, very small portion sizes. If I ever ordered from here again I would only order the burrito. The rest is a rip off.

I booked this restaurant for a family meal to celebrate my wife's birthday (she loves Mexican food). There were 12 of us and we were seated downstairs on request to make a more private affair. The entire experience was wonderful. Good food and a warm service. One of the children has coeliac with the menu full of gluten free dishes, clearly labelled. Parking outside the restaurant has restrictions, however there is a pay car park a short walk away.

The food was delicious and excellent value for money. The staff as always were friendly, welcoming and efficient and the place was spotlessly clean. A great place for a lovely meal.

I've dined in, but mostly done the delievery. I love the food, it's tasty and satisfys my tex-mex cravings, but the delivery nacho portion sizes arent consistent. Last time I had a rather small portion of meat and toppings. I decided to give The Mexican another chance and this time my delivery nachos were heaving, the box almost bursting!

Came here recently for a work Christmas party, everyone had a great time and the food was excellent and plentiful. Service very helpful both in organising and on the night. Thank you!

This is literally fantastic! I have been to so many poor or average Mexican places in the UK and London, always hoping and getting disappointed, little knowing there was a gem just down the road from home. Superb food, the real deal, and good prices. Excellent margaritas, proper nachos not those fake ones and, best of all, a fantastic quesadilla. It's brilliant and everyone should go here!

Had a fantastic time at The Mexican. We had the lunchtime deal menu, which was really good value for money. The food was delicious, and the service was really good. Would definitely recommend!

They'd lost power, and it had just returned when I arrived. They immediately assured me that they would be up and running in no time. They took my order, and they were right! The fod was in front of in no time. And OH the FOOD! I rarely get to visit or have time to visit when I am in Ware, but when I do, I am salivating before I walk in the door. My stomach is in full grumble mode by the time I sit. They can feed every eater, whether you are vegitarian, vegan or a meat eater. They have something for everyone. And the favour will not disappoint. It's not Mexico, but the food is truly close to it.

I have no idea how this place has such a good rating. The food is tasteless. £12 for a burrito with zero flavour, and if you want to add guacamole, salsa, or any standard ingredients, you have to pay an extra £1.50 to £2 for each item. It's just lazy. Try to make the food taste nicer by either using seasoning or better quality ingredients. I've been twice recently. The first time, I was charged an optional £1.50 service fee on top of a £12 lunch deal. It's not really £12 if you put the onus on the customer to remove the "optional charge." Then I went today, and the charge wasn't added. So I am guessing you realised that the £12 lunch meal had to be £12 not £13.50. you can do better.

We were just celebrating a Friday night tbh! Food was delicious and the Margaritas were yum, all drinks and food came swiftly and the service was so friendly from everyone. We had nachos to start (I’d recommend the grilled chicken nachos), then a selection of tacos and quesadillas to share, finished with churros! Perfect mix. To top it all off, there was the cutest guitar player which added to the Mexican atmosphere! We love it here and would highly recommend!

Maybe a victim of their own success and too busy as the takeaway we had a couple of years ago (I dont live here, just visitng family) after lockdown was fantastic, this one was pretty average and I wouldn't order again. There were a few items which had been forgotten which they refunded so fine but the main issue was that it seemed the food had been cooked a while ago. We preordered for a certain time and the food was already bagged up and in a warming oven when I arrived a few minutes early. Less than a 5 minute drive away and everything just looked a bit sad - I had the sweetcorn/feta tacos which had hardly any filling and were dry, same for the pork pibil tacos. I should have taken photos. Someone else had the fish tacos and they at least had decent amount of filling. From other reviews it looks like it's best to eat in!

Visited this to celebrate a family birthday. The place is very charming and has good vibes. The cocktails were well made. The starters were fresh and tasted nice. The main course menu was not the usual one would find in a Mexican restaurant. And they were well done and fairly large portions. We struggled to finish our mains. The only issue with the place was the service. It appeared they cater a lot to takeaways and as a result their eat-in service was very slow. A quaint genuine place which would be even better if they manage to sort out their service.

Great and about as authentic as you can get outside Mexico. Mexican chef. Starters didn't arrive together. Excellent micheladas, but not for the faint hearted.

If you like Mexican food, this is the place to go, the food is amazing, there is much flavour in all the dishes that we have tried. We've been a couple of times now and will definitely be going back soon. Thank you

Came here on an off chance with no booking and found the whole team to be very helpful and accommodating, got us sat and the cocktails quickly began flowing shortly after. Lewis served us, his amazing knowledge of the menu helped my girlfriend adapt her dish to fit her vegetarian requests and he got a little more spice on my dish which is always a winner for me. Will defo be returning in the near future!

Whilst the food is tasty, the delivery portion sizes are a complete rip off. The images displayed on the GoGetters app indicate that a Sharers portion of Nachos is much bigger than what is actually delivered. A £15.60 sharer portion of Chicken Nachos should not be served in a box that is no longer than a normal dinner fork, and the image shown on the GoGetters app for all the Nachos suggest a much bigger portion will be served. I received more tortilla chips in the side of tortilla chips (£3.40) that I ordered than I did in the “sharer” nachos (£15.60). Whilst I do believe their food is tasty, I unfortunately cannot recommend ordering food for delivery from this restaurant if you are at all interested in getting what you pay for.

We come every week for taco Tuesdays and I will continue to come for as long as I can. Perfect place to catch up with friends over a cocktail or beer and a taco. Also highly recommend the white sangria.

Used to love this place when it opened, but following many visits I can only say in my opinion the menu has become somewhat lazy not to mention expensive. Burrito, quesadillas, tacos etc literally all have the same fillings and thus can only imagine the chefs only need to bulk cook a couple of different mains and serve in the appropriate style. This isn’t to say the food is bad but when it’s this style and they’ve not changed or added anything new to the menu since they opened, it’s hard to get excited about a return visit. The pricing structure needs looking at, I don’t believe sour cream, salsa, cheese etc should require an extra fee taking a beef burrito price to around £20 when it’s only served with a handful of tortilla chips. If you’ve never been before I’d say go as the food you get is very nice, but don’t expect anything different if you decide to go again. It should be mentioned that breakfast there is fantastic and does have a few surprises on the menu

Food was ok. Not much flavour to anything really. Really slow service also. We had finished our food and over 20mins went by before we even got to speak to someone to ask for our bill. Wasn't asked once in the 1h we were there if we wanted another drinkafter our original order. Good value lunch deal tho so that's a positive.

Good food - only had the breakfast but enjoyed it. Only reason it's not getting five stars is that - like Dirty's in Hertford - it's overpriced for what you get.

Food was incredible but the service was shocking!! 30 mins for a drink and an hour for food, and it’s not a massive place. Got given the wrong dish and it turned out the dish we ordered was out of stock but they didn’t tell us. The waiter was clearly pissed off as well and super rude. Wouldn’t go again despite the food being super yummy.

The chicken nachoes are my favourite! Always the best food, sangria and atmosphere :)
