We live in the village and have been here twice for late breakfast and lunch, great service and yummy food, book a table as it’s not very big. Enjoy

Had a wonderful afternoon tea. Very good price and well worth a visit. Between 12-3 they do an afternoon selection. Sandwiches or paninis, followed by cake or scones. Can pick from a selection of teas. They do have coffee and soft drinks as standard. Very welcoming staff and a lovely little place to visit. Can take away cakes if need be too. Its also a shop and has plenty to buy and look at.

Visiting Branston for the first time, we were amazed to find this gem of a place. The cleanliness stands out, with every piece of glass sparkling, whether a show case of curios, or for drinking from. We ordered from a broad menu, settling for the high tea at £8.50p. The tea was served in gender related colours, a blue pot for me and pink for my wife; who could have imagined that? The napkins and cutlery were placed on the table in little embroidered sacks befitting the olde worlde style of this establishment. Crockery comprised delicate gold edged cups and saucers, a lovely touch, giving the feeling that you didn't have to rush. Extra hot water was also supplied as standard. The sandwiches were stuffed with ham or tuna and served with salad laced with vinaigrette, and potato crisps. A choice of cake, or scone and clotted cream with a real strawberry and jam followed. The cakes were, I think, home made and unique to Mad Hatter's, with a large slice of strawberry sponge being my choice. We found that a couple of tables were reserved, and took this as complementary to Mad Hatter's popularity, We left with an inner glow, that feeling of satisfaction that comes when you've been treated like royalty; the three staff members all stopped in passing to offer any assistance required , and wanted to ensure that we had had the best of service. We had. The Mad Hatter's goes beyond excellent, setting standards of service and quality of food and hygiene, that similar establishments would struggle to achieve and maintain.

A lovely shop selling arts and craft products as well as a cafe. A lot of the craft products are made by local people and are of high quality and reasonably priced although you do have to pay by cash for these pieces so the crafter gets the full amount. Sensible and fair. The food is fresh and well sourced, cooked fresh to order and delicious. My wife had a slice of yummy toblerone cake and a hot chocolate, I had a bacon and sausage sandwich with a delicious homemade tomato chutney and a coffee. Very tasty. The staff are really friendly and polite, order at your table and add to the experience. We are are on birthday weekend away and are going to have breakfast there tomorrow before we head for home. Totally recommend it for both the food, the welcome and the arts and crafts. A really lovely place to go.
